They were really good. He was very responsive as far as getting a quote to me and staying in touch with me. He was very knowledgeable about pouring the concrete so it wouldn't crack, which was our biggest concern. He worked really hard to design a driveway that would be functional but also meet the permit codes, so he had to get a little creative. He did the work quickly and efficiently. All of his employees were professional and courteous. It was very professionally done. It was expensive but it was worth it for the value we got out of it. It was a little higher than some of the other estimates. He did a great job and it still looks really good.

We had several contractors come out and provide estimates which all appeared reasonable, but after speaking with previous homeowners it was readily apparent that Fleet was the best out there for our job. They arrived on time each day and set out the appropriate tasks for that day. Everyone on the crew knew exactly what needed to be done and all activities were completed quickly and efficiently. Overall an outstanding job from beginning to end.

Bob Custer of Fleet Concrete and his crew arrived on Monday, 10/26/09. On Tuesday, 10/27/09, at noon, they completed the work perfectly. Not a flaw or problem, and in accordance with my request. The workers, Frank cooper and his guys, did a perfect job in quick order. They were neat, worked diligently and were cordial gentlemen. I couldn't ask for a better job. I highly recommend Fleet Concrete for any king of patio, patio enclosure, concrete or surface concrete work. Top quality and fair price.

We just needed a quick fix before moving. They were on time for the estimate and for the job. Everything went well.

The job was done professionally and on time, with no hassels. I was there when the job started, but I did not have to take any time off work to make sure the job was done properly. I would hire Fleet Concrete again as it was a pleasant experience doing business with them.

He came promptly and I was very pleased with how they worked as a group. He kept me posted on what was going on. His work was well done, and I was very pleased with how it turned out. He was an extremely nice man.

The process went very smoothly, particularly after permits were approved. Originally, I had a rough idea of what I wanted and I discussed this idea with Bob (owner of Fleet) and also with contacts from his screen subcontractor. Within a week, Bob came back to me with a complete set of engineering drawings. I was very impressed that the drawings captured my original ideas perfectly, with details that in many ways surpassed my expectations. I got estimates from at least 5 contractors for this job. I had some concerns about the job, specifically I was worried about having to cut roots to a nearby oak tree (I didn't want to cut roots on the patio side, because I knew I was going to have to cut them on the other side for a pool installation). Bob at Fleet did not provide the lowest cost estimate (although he was very close), but he was the only contractor that offered a viable option for not cutting the tree roots - a precast lintel that spanned the whole root system. The combination of low cost and innovation made it very easy to pick Fleet for the job. In hindsight, it was the right choice. The workspace was tight, confined by trees, the existing house, limited access, and a hot tub on the slab (after the slab was poured). Toward the end, there was also the issue of pool contractors prep'ing and digging a hole nearby. Fleet dealt with all these issues seamlessly. I found Bob to be pleasant, responsive, and creative. His team was similarly professional. He and his team worked with me interactively to iron out questions of design, ultimately leading to a wonderful patio. I highly recommend Fleet. Friends, neighbors, and family that have come by so far are equally impressed.

Good. Bob gave us the contract to sign, mail to him with deposit before he would start the work. Problem was, he never called to tell us he got our deposit, which was $1,000! Even Richard (hubby) asked me if I heard from him & Richard's a very laid back guy! Bob came & put up a divider then the following week I called to confirm the start date. Rose, who is VERY nice, told me she'd ask Bob, called back within the hour & told me they were slated to start Thurs, Apr 23. They came out at 7:30 & just started! VERY professional & very nice!!!!!! Howie (he shook my hand at the end - I THINK that's his name!) & Shorty were great!!!!!!! They ALL did a wonderful job, the inspector came out to make sure it was up to code, & they finished the same day. Bob called Monday to ask if everything was ok, etc. I asked him about the Angie's List discount & he said he would send the gift certificate to us "after the fact," meaning after he received our final payment. Turns out, Rose processes the gift cards the first of each month, but Bob I guess forgot to tell me that. After I didn't get anything in the mail for a week or so, I called & Rose told me she processes gift cards the first of the month. I know Bob is an excellent contractor, but he's not very forthcoming with information, such as the fact he got our deposit, or even referring me to Rose about the gift card. Otherwise, I highly recommend them!

They did a wonderful job. They were very professional and showed up on time. They worked like little beavers out there. They gave us a decent price and cleaned up their mess. We were very happy with the driveway job. They did a very nice job. We have a contract with them for another job. They are a really professional outfit. They show up when they say and they do the work. They are not afraid to come out on a weekend. This is why they are going to do the other job for us.

The project went VERY WELL and was completed earlier than expected. I was amazed at the attitude of the crew. This wasn't "just another job" in their eyes. They worked with us, not for us! They ensured we were satisfied of every step of this project. I only hope we don't have vehicle accidents as everyone slows down to admire the work. I even have drivers giving me the thumbs up as they pass by!

Bob and his crew were very professional from start to finish. We were able to change the pattern and shape of the patios and flower beds as the project went along without any hassles. The project had many grades and each grade was executed flawlessly. Fleet Concrete was not the most inexpensive, but we felt they were the most qualified for the work we had done that was completed with beautiful results. We would definitely use Fleet again in the future!

Bob Custer had come out and provided an overall estimate, and several subsequent 'a la carte' variations at my request, and a ballpark schedule of when the job can be done. Although his estimate was a bit above one other contractor, I felt comfortable going with Fleet based on his knowledge, schedule flexibility, options/ideas he provided, ease to do business with and after reading previous Angie's List experiences. After deciding to go with Fleet, a schedule was set. The day of the concrete pour, a swarm of guys arrived promptly to level the ground and prepare the area in time for the concrete truck's arrival. The following week, a crew of 2 guys began laying the pavers which took several more days. Bob continually came out to inspect the progress and ensured everything was cleaned up when the job was completed. There were only a few areas that needed to be touched up which were quickly re-mediated. I should also mention Rose, I think was her name, who came out to help select the pavers and suggested the herringbone pattern I went with. Both were a perfect selection and have received a lot of compliments from my neighbors and family who were in town for the holidays. Bob also referred me to B & F Lawn Maintenance who had to move some sprinklers for the patio install and fixed some others I mauled with the lawn mower. They were extremely reasonably priced for the good work they did.

Larry, the Aluminum tradesman, was involved in the bid process and design from the beginning. Like Bob from Fleet Concrete, Larry was flexible and provided greats that got us to our final project. Everyone was skilled, professional and courteous (Roofing shingles were added. See report under roofing for different company). We will be using this crew for the screen enclosure as soon as we get our roofing work completed.

When we first spoke with Bob and a few of the tradesmen for the job, we were still bouncing around ideas. Bob was helpful in providing pro's and con's, and threw in a few fresh ideas. The most important factor in our decision to select Fleet was their flexibility. Bob communicated changes to the crews and kept the project on track. All of the tradesmen were highly skilled, and respectful of us and our property.

Bobby Custer was a pleasure to work with. Fleet responded quickly to our initial call, when we were closer to the 'idea' phase than ready to commit to a contractor. Bobby and his team (from several trades) were timely, and had several great ideas that eventually worked for us. Once on the job, all of the crews were timely, courteous, professional, and respectful. What sold us on this contractor, and our absolute satisfaction was the flexibility of the various contractors. We did make changes while the work was in progress, and the company accommodated without hesitation. We will be using them to complete the remainder of our project.

I was initially interested in a driveway apron and walkway removal and replacement. Bob worked closely with me and provided valued advice for the parts of the project I was unsure about. He was good about calling to let me know updates on the status of schedules. He solves your problems rather than giving you more problems. He was very willing to do the legwork to get approvals/permits from the Hyde Park Architectural Review Committee and the city construction department(s). In the end, the ARC did not approve of the driveway apron replacement, but Bob was willing to do the small walkway job anyway at a reasonable price. He was on site to supervise during a majority of the job. Bob Custer is a pleasure to work with and his quality of service is validation that finding contractors on Angie's List is successful.

The service and quality was excellent. I have the difficult job of maintaining a property in Tampa from my office in Chicago. Working with Fleet Concrete made my job so much easier. I received a prompt response for my request for a quote. I received a fair price which was then lowered by $200.00 due to fewer cracks needing repair. The deck looks great. I highly recommend Fleet. Rose was especially nice to work with.

The job was completed in a timely manner, even with the counties misinformation regarding permits and procedures. Bob was always on hand to take care of anything that came up out of the ordinary, and he definitely took the anxiety out of hiring a contractor. We would recommend Fleet to anybody needing home improvements, as this is one of those businesses that you just like to see succeed. They even went a step further and cemented a stand we wanted into the ground. GREAT JOB!!

The job was great. I was out of town when the work was done and when I returned the work was completed and it looked wonderful. They even transplanted some plants for me instead of just digging them up and throwing them away. The job absolutely exceeded my expectations.

The sidewalk work was performed flawless except for one place where it connected to an existing brick paver sideway. At this connection point work was sub-par. They did come back and try to correct this as best they could but it is still not as it could have been. The rest of the walk looks great in all respects. The only other complaint I would have to mention is the lawn where the sidewalk was put in was not in good shape after the job was completed. I will have to do some re-sodding or grass seeding planting. I put them in a situation of digging a bit deeper then normal on some of the sidewalk due to drainage pipe but I feel the sod could have been easily protected with use of a simple trap. Overall I am happy with their work and would use them again as Bob was very punctual and had great follow-up and keep me informed at all times.

The job went great from start to finish. Bob came by and gave me the estimate, once I called them back to do the job they were very clear on the day and arrived on schedule with his crew. They cleared out the area that had had stones and concrete edging. They framed out the area they way my wife wanted and even offered suggestions to make the addition look pleasing to the eye. They were very professional and finished the job in couple of hours. They returned the next morning to remove the framing and clean the area. I was very please and would definitely recommend and use them again.

The overall experience was perfect. Rose responded cordially to all my questions and concerns; and she scheduled the earliest appointment available. Bob arrived at my home at the exact time of the scheduled appointment. He assessed inside and outside the laundry/utility room, and determined that the top soil was graded higher than the inside foundation. He recommended a number of strategies that I could do on my own to solve the problem. He did not try to sell me an intrusive and expensive service. He patiently answered all my questions and took time to fully explain how to solve the problem. There was no charge for the service. After he left I immediately removed the excess top soil and graded the land away from the foundation. Should I have more demanding concrete needs in the future I will certainly call Fleet Concrete.

Excellent experience! Several problems arose & were immediately resolved by fleet. All workmen were pleasant & more than professional.
