Bob Custer, the owner came out to our house and did an estimate immediately after we called him. Bob was excellent and very helpful. Very professsional and also very friendly - he even went the extra mile and helped us by towing the boat that was stuck in the muddly lawn on the side yard with his heavy duty diesel powered truck since our pick-up couldn't move it at all. That was the first blessing. Then came the day of the actual work and Hiram and BIlly arrrived - they were punctual, professional, super polite and incredibley hard working. They did a big job - all manually (except for the truck that poured the concrete) taking care with the finish floating and got it all done just before the heavy rains set in. Would I hire them again? Yes in a heart beat ! and I would recommned them to my best friend and family.
Description of Work: Fleet Concrete put in a 10' by 40' by (heavy duty) 4" concrete boat pad in my side yard. They had to dig up lawn, grade the under layer to level and then prepare everything for the pour. The truck came just in time like clock work and after the pour Hiram and Billy did the spreading, leveling and the floating. The result a beautiful and sturdy bot pad!

On 15 March, we signed a contract with Fleet Concrete to have a new acrylic surface put on the pool deck and the sunroom floor. The sunroom floor was particularly difficult to have redone, it was uneven and had a different keystone pattern actually made into the existing concrete floor. The work started just before Easter on 28 March. The men who did the work were great- really professional. They did an excellent job of masking the area before painting and did an equally excellent job cleaning up ? they even washing down the sliding windows around the patio. Bob, the Fleet representative, really stayed on top of the job and kept us in the loop. Because of unexpectedly heavy rain, the first color application was spotty. After finding that another coat of sealer didn?t fix the problem, Bob volunteered to repaint the entire job and did at no additional cost. I was really impressed that I didn?t need to do the quality control for the project, Bob did. We were delighted with the results on the pool deck and sunroom floor. They couldn?t look be better. There was one problem with the front walkway. It wasn?t the right color. Fleet seems to think that I changed my mind about the color and, since the painters weren?t able to give me the color chips back, it will never be proved either way. However, during the final walk through, Bob offered to repaint the front walkway at no additional cost. I thought that I could live with the color and said no at the time and paid for the work. No matter how much I looked at the walkway, it stayed the wrong color. On 14 May, I called about the offer to repaint the front walkway. They said it was still good. On 23 May, I e-mailed the color information. The front walkway was completed at the end of July. While the entire project took a lot longer than I would have liked, it's finally finished and we're delighted with the results.
Description of Work: Putting a new acrylic surface on our pool deck and the adjacent sunroom. This including preparing the surface, grinding high areas, filling cracks and applying a keystone pattern. After discussion with Bob, we also agreed to have the front walkway redone at an additional cost.

Excellent craftsmanship! Fleet came while we were at work, did the complete job and cleanup, placed a yellow caution rope off ribbon around the area, and blended the work in to match the existing sidewalk panels. After we had the older sidewalk power washed, it was nearly indistinguisable (except for the newness of the cement) from the other sidewalk sections. Highly recommended overall!

Expensive but worth what ended up being the quality. I saw ended up because it took quite a bit of work to get the job right. Fleet did a wonderful job at responding to our concerns but, unfortunately, the front line workers (one individual in particular) were set on getting the job done quick instead of right. We expressed our concerns to Fleet and the responded the day of and the job ultimately ended up getting done perfectly. We've been very happy with the result and would recommend Fleet. The professionalism ranking was a result of their front line crew. Were we evaluating their corporate response, they would have received an A.

If there was a way to give a company a rating hire than an "A", it would be for Bob and his crew at Fleet Concrete. After several other companies would not come out to bid, because my initial walkway job was too small, Bob came out with a "no job too small" attitude. I knew then that this was a company that cares about it's customers. We ended up having Bob estimate out 3 jobs for us and had them do it all. The parking pad in front of the barn was 32' x 20'. Looks great. The firepit was created with a salt swirl pattern that looks fantastic! But the best is the front walkway. We had a design we found on the internet that was originally for larger areas. Bob worked with his crew and they hand cut the design into the walkway and it looks amazing. From the beginning stages of the estimate to the follow-up and clean-up, Bob and Fleet concrete are the best concrete crew I have seen....and I owned my own construction company in Ohio for 10 years, so I have seen many. This is a company everyone should contact before making any decisions regarding concrete!!!

This was the easiest and most satisfying experience I have ever had with a contractor. Management and the various crews were expiedent, courteous and professional . I will have them bid on my next project; lanai pavers.

The job went well. Bob and his crew were excellent. Unfortunately we had some rain the day of the pour, but were able to complete and cover with plastic before the heavier rain began. The employees were very hard workers. They even added a small concrete pad next to the garage door to add more stability. They made sure the job site was cleaned up on completion. I would highly recommend their services.

The estimator told me he would have the details in the next few days and he would then contact us. I waited a week and then decided I had to initiate contact to find out what the cost would be. After calling three times I finally spoke with the estimator who told me the slab would be around $4000 and any screened enclosure would bring the total price upwards around $9000. I'm not exactly sure on these figures because I never received the written estimate as promised. I've read multiple good reviews about this company on Angie's list but my personal opinion is somewhat different. They didn't seem too concerned about doing business with me and the fact that I've never received a written estimate is proof of that. If a company is that busy maybe they should inform the customer that they're booked up at the present time instead of making people have to contact them for information they promised to provide.
Description of Work: An estimator for Fleet concrete came by in March (exact date forgotten) to estimate a 13'x18' patio slab and possible screened-in enclosure. He was punctual and very professional.

When I first met Bob for an estimate he came on a Saturday as I requested. He was so detailed and listened to my ideas and offered what he thought should be done. He even used a painting wheel to outline what he was talking about so I could clearly see where all the additions were going. He also showed me his work on his laptop and that was the seal on the deal! Bob explained what had to be done to expedite the job. He put me on his schedule when I requested the specific day I had in mind. Hiram and the crew came on time on the installation date. They were courteous and respectful of my expectations. They were absolute and willing to change any layout boundaries. Hiram offered solutions to what we were doing to improve what was going to be done and did them. It took all day and they were back the next morning as they said to clean up and finalize the job. I am thrilled with what they did. They are true craftsmen and know how to do their line of work. I'm a bit of a perfectionist but so were they. The value of my house has certainly gained from their workmanship.

My live oak trees gave Fleet Concrete a head start in removing the driveway. With existing concrete slabs lifted over 6 inches, their bobcat was easily able to insert its bucket/blade under the slab to lift and smash them. I was concerned about damage to the terra cotta tile in front of my door. No problem! I watched them gently pull the slab away from the tile in the front entry way. The crew spent the majority of the day removing massive roots underneath the driveway with chain saws and pick axes. Enough wood debris was cleared to fill a large dumpster. No wonder the concrete lifted! The rest of the day was spent creating forms for the new driveway and compacting the soil. The root pruning work caused some irrigation pipe to come unglued. Fleet went to Home Depot to get the needed part and made the repair. They also pointed out a pressure problem I was having with two of my irrigation zones. The second day was a study in project management. The crew doubled in size, arriving 15 minutes before the cement truck. It was amazing watching them pour and form the driveway quickly as the concrete hardened. Everyone knew their role, moving the concrete around and finishing the top surface with a broom. I quickly saw the new driveway take shape. Two truck loads of concrete were necessary to complete the job. On the third day, they returned to cut the control and expansion joints into the 24 hour old driveway. I was extremely satisfied with Fleet Concrete's work. They are professional, customer oriented and highly competent at what they do.
Description of Work: Two mature live oak trees had significantly damaged my driveway beyond repair. I used Angie's List to search for concrete companies in the Tampa area and found Fleet Concrete. My selection was further confirmed when the certified arborist hired to do root pruning said `Call Bob at Fleet Concrete. That's who we recommend.' Bob was professional, answering lots of my questions about pavers vs. concrete, even showing me examples of his work on his iPad. He spent time describing the various steps they would go through including removing the existing concrete slabs, digging into the ground to remove the offending roots, compacting the soil then pouring a new driveway with a fiber-filled concrete mixture. Bob also recommended that I NOT include wood forms in the center of the driveway but that they saw cut control and expansion joints after the concrete has cured. I always like to get another bid for significant work so I obtained a second bid from a general contractor. The Fleet Concrete bid was lower plus I felt Fleet had an advantage as they specialize in concrete projects.

I am very pleased with the result of Fleet's work. I am currently renting out my five bedroom house to five individuals. This means five cars at the very least traveling in and out of the property daily. Fleet was able to come in and finish the work quickly.
Description of Work: Needed a driveway for my home situated on a 2 acre lot. Contacted Fleet after reading their reviews on Angie's List. Fleet came to my property, surveyed what needed to be done, assisted me with the design so that I could get a functional and aesthetically pleasing driveway, gave me a price that was fair for the quality of concrete and the work done, and completed the job quickly and efficiently.

We were having a problem with drainage (water was pooling up against the house) so we were exploring our options. Bob walked the property and gave his recommendations to my wife but, when I still had questions/concerns, he spoke to me on the phone and came back out to walk the property with me. After the old concrete was removed, it became clear that the driveway had not been properly graded which was the cause of the drainage problem. They graded the driveway and used laser sights to make sure that it would drain properly. Around the same time, we ended up having a diseased oak tree removed which gave us the space to make the new driveway a little wider than we had originally planned. Bob and his crew didn't skip a beat and we love being able to park our cars side-by side. There were a few snags that needed to be cleaned up before the job was finished but Bob and his crew did a great job and we are very satisfied with the work that was done.

This company is simply the BEST. We called Fleet?s office and set an appointment for an estimate. Bob came out to the house on the date and time we set. He was very professional and advised us on the width and design of the project since we were a bit unsure. He showed us pictures of previous jobs so that we could have an idea of possible designs---this was very helpful. We also had to have a tree removed since it was in the same location of where we wanted our driveway widened. The tree contractor had expressed a concern about possibly not being able to get a tree removal permit approved. Bob indicated that he would get the permit for the concrete job and the tree removal permit. He then provided a written description of the job and an estimate of the cost. Within a few days, Bob had a design drawing of the driveway. He coordinated the permits with the county and contacted me from the county office to resolve some issues with county forms for the tree removal. The permits were all obtained and a date was set for the job. Bob called prior to the arrival of his crews and they all arrived on time. The onsite supervisors introduced themselves, explained what they were going to do and promptly went to work. There were several issues specific to this job which I felt were not within the scope of what we asked Fleet to do, but his crews handled all the issues and made the day a painless and worry free experience. Each member of his crew was polite, respectful, and very professional. They finished the job in one day and cleaned up the entire area prior to departure. Bob called the day after completion to ensure that all went well. I have found it difficult in the past to find contractors who are actually professionals in their trade and who will do what they say they will do and what I expect them to do to a standard that leaves me with a sense of satisfaction. Fleet contract is just this anomaly. Bob and his crews are professionals and experts in their trade. They do the work properly and at a fair price. Look no further for a concrete contractor----hire them and turn what can be a stressful task into a pleasant experience.
Description of Work: Widened our driveway by 12 feet and added a sidewalk from the front of the driveway around to the side of our house. They excavated the soil and tree roots to pour the concrete and removed a section of existing sidewalk for the new driveway apron.

Wow, that is all I can say. What a great company that is. If I could give them a +++A I would. Animals had dug huge tunnels under the house from under the pool pump and heater. Everything was concaving in. I called fleet Concrete to ask for an estimate to pour a concrete pad for my pool pump and heater. he gave me an estimate of $750. 2 days later 2 men showed up, inspected the sight, called Bob their boss, and discused the situation with him. The men then talked to me about the mess I have going on and told me that it will be a little more money, since it is a bigger pad then i told them it was and much more work involved since all the animals had a party right there. I told them it was no problem. I understood. These two men worked all day long, filling the whole up with dirt, then pouring the concrete, and making a beautiful pad. It is really amazing what they did, and how they did it for that price. I talked to the boss at the end to get the correct amount, and he told me just the quoted price, no more. I was happily surprised. They are well worth much more then I paid. If I have other work for them to do, I will call them again in a second. Very very good company. Dont look further, this is the best company you will ever find.
