On the plus side, they did the job timely and their price was great. However, the concrete is not a uniform color. About one third of it is darker than the rest. On a portion of the walk way to the front door, the concrete has "blotchy" discolorations. I raised the issues immediately with the owner, he came out twice, did nothing about it. He told me it was still moist, it would improve. It has now been a year and it is exactly the same.

The rep was very professional arrived on time and spent a sufficient amount of time to explain the process to me. We ended up not going through with the project at that time, but had we done so, I would have hired Fleet.

Working with Fleet felt more like a partnership than working with a vendor. They built the slab and masonry walls for my extension but thought ahead and made sure everything was correct for future construction, especially the windows and roof. They went the extra mile by providing guidance and I am seeing the benefits as construction has continued. The team was punctual every day they worked as well as courteous and tidy. The quality of work was very high, the slab and walls were constructed level, square and exactly to specifications. There were cost increases due to plan changes not driven by Fleet. Fleet explained in detail why the cost increases were necessary and why they were to my benefit. They made sure I was in agreement with the necessary changes. I wish I had another addition to build so I could work with them again!

Bob was the first person to respond to calls I placed to multiple vendors. He brought pictures, explained his procedure, and answered all questions. Very professional. The crew came as promised and created a picture perfect driveway, walkway, and sidewalk. They even changed the shape of the walkway (with my approval of course) to update the look. They left the yard, landscaping, and driveway in immaculate condition, replacing all loosened sod and cleaning up the dust off the front door area. I was so thrilled when I got home and saw the beautiful work. This was a very difficult job because I had tremendous tree roots that had to be cleared from a huge oak tree that damaged the driveway. I highly recommend this company!

When the crew arrived they started preparing an area that was incorrect for the pad. Thank goodness I was home to correct the mistake before more of my grass was destroyed. They blamed it on lack of communication...unacceptable. Overall the pad looks great.

Bob came to our home and provided us with an estimate. He explained how his company would install the driveway so it would not crack in the future. He also provided suggestions to flare out the walkway and round the corners to provide a more attractive look. We were impressed with his presentation and decided to use Fleet to do the work. They obtained the construction permit and scheduled the work at our convenience. The removal of the existing driveway and sidewalk was completed in one day. All debris was hauled away and barrier tape was installed. We used their recommended contractor to repair minor irrigation pipe damage and relocate 2 heads due to redesign of the sidewalk. This work was done professionally and for a nominal cost. The form work and concrete pour was done two days later and was completed in just a few hours. The concrete crew was awesome. They left the site immaculate. All debris was removed and the landscape was restored. They even replaced all of the small sod pieces they had to remove to install the forms. We could not be more pleased with the appearance of our home since this work was done. Three neighbors have already asked who did the work. Fleet employees were polite and everything was done in a professional manner from start to finish. A+++

Tore up sprinkler system and did not come back to fix. I paid to repair the cracked lines under the new driveway. Left the yard ungraded and unfinished. I was not home when he came to collect, unfortunately my wife paid the bill. I called him to see if he would fix the problems initially he said yes and then never called back even after repeated calls to them. "Take the money and run" UPDATE 1-30-16 Rebuttal: "liar"

Very happy - the work was completed 12 years ago and is still holding up nicely. Note that we worked with Mr Bob Custer, building contractor # CBC060300. The business was located at 13014 N. Dale Mabry. I do not know if this is the same entity.He laid a driveway slab for my father in 2003 and did a great job.

Great experience! The project went smoothly from start to finish. From my first conversation with Rose - the office manager - she was knowledgeable, polite and efficient. She set up my appointment with Bob to come out for a quote. Bob arrived on time, was professional and courteous. We signed our contract that day. Installation day went according to schedule. The crews arrived on time, they had the basketball pole and old sidewalk removed within 15 minutes of arrival. All the crew members were professional and courteous. The entire install went as planned - no problems. Driveway looks great as do both slabs. Most definitely would recommend Fleet. They went above and beyond my expectations....

I explained the issue I was having with the floor in the garage. The lady that called offered many suggestions and advice, which I took. I appreciated her willingness to offer the help from her experience. We concluded that the slab was not necessary as there were other ways to fix the problem that were cost-free. Thank you for taking the time to educate me on the situation and for the advice, which I followed and which resolved my problem! I appreciate your honesty and suggestions.

I called the company and left a voice message the beginning of September. A couple days later, I got a return call from the secretary who wanted details of the job we wanted done. She scheduled "Bob" to come look over the job and give an estimate. He took some measurements, suggested a drain be installed where our porch/patio joined the new patio. He said the company was backed up a little due to the wet weather, but they could probably be here in two-three weeks. Bob called and scheduled the work for a Tuesday when I told him I could be there. He was very cooperative and helpful. The workers arrived around 10:30 a.m., set the forms for the concrete, leveled off the ground, and by 2:00 were pouring the concrete. By 5:00 p.m., the job was completed, and looked beautiful. I would highly recommend this company for any concrete work!

I was very impressed with Fleet Concrete: not only a professional job, done on time and to spec, but spot-on project management and creative consultation. Bob and his contractors gave us ideas on how to lay out our walkways when we couldn't envision them ourselves--we loved their suggestions. They took care of everything, even the unexpected; when pulling up the old concrete disrupted our irrigation, they called someone in to fix it without disrupting the project schedule. Bonus: at no point did anyone on the project condescend to me. Having someone call me 'honey' and act like I can't understand basic math when they come out to do estimates is unfortunately common. Fantastic experience; Fleet Concrete's definitely on my go-to list for any similar projects in the future.

Fleet removed the old concrete and then coordinated with an arborist whose employee air spaded along the edge of the existing sidewalk to pressure blow the dirt away,exposing the tree roots. Both Fleet and Independent Tree Service worked together to remove necessary roots. The removal process at times was very difficult for them. It took creative thinking to solve a few of the root challenges. Fleet completed the project by preparing the ground for the pouring of the fiber reinforced concrete into the revised path set up for a new sidewalk a bit farther away from the tree. They were very precise about measurements, planing, inserting expansion joints, and finishing the final steps to prevent a person from slipping on the surface. Upon completion they cleaned their work area before leaving. We did not comment on the price because we did not do any additional comparing. We were very satisfied with our answers upon discussing with the Office Manager, who subsequently talked with Bob Custer, the many factors involved with a large live oak tree, the regulations, and the process trying to replace a sidewalk with very restrictive alternatives for spacing and the anticipated timeframe for completion.

Fleet provided a knowledgeable person to measure our drive and provide a quote. Once approved, work was scheduled for a Friday, to be done in one day. Unfortunately, one of the utilities failed to mark their lines in time for construction to begin, so the work commenced with tear and replacement the following week. Both crews (tear out, and pour) were personable and professional. Each worked diligently and with great care. On the date set for the concrete pour, we discovered some sewer leakage near a clean out, and the source of this issue had to be resolved by our plumber. During this time, the Fleet crew stayed on site, and once resolved, completed their work. The new drive looks great.

Once the parameters of the job were established, everything went fairly well. I am very happy with the end result and have had any problems with the workmanship resolved quickly. The work did do some damage to the property due to the large vehicles used for the work but I am happy with the job, most of the process and would recommend the company to family and friends or use again if needed.

Bob came out in August to quote a price. I gave a deposit and had to wait until Oct. to get the driveway completed as it took the county a long time to approve the permit. I got a call on Friday 10/2/15 that they would be able to start on Tuesday. They completed the job in one day, came back on Wednesday to clean up and spread the extra dirt. I was told to wait 3 days before driving on it, I waited four days and it was well worth it. I highly recommend this company for any concrete jobs. They are extremely professional and pleasant workers.

I originally left a voicemail expressing my interest in obtaining an estimate for some concrete work. Specifically a shed foundation and a small driveway extension (60 sqft). When I received a phone call back, I was asked specific questions about the foundation type (monolithic vs other), whether I was building the shed or hiring someone else, on and on and on. I am an industrial project manager and understand the need for this information for detailed jobs of large scope and understand the needs for these requirements before beginning construction. But this information is not needed to provide a cost estimate. I understand that their concern about the need for drawings for building permits and following the Florida Building Code. However, I was not given an opportunity to discuss my needs and my expectations. I was only told that "this company does not do this without drawings". My issue is that not only was the woman who returned my call rude and consistently interrupted me, but she essentially did not want my business. I had every intention of having a site survey with fully engineered drawings for a building permit but I was not given any chance to say so. Instead I was essentially told that they would not talk to me until I had those things. You will notice that many of the other poor reviews on Angie's List with this company have to deal with how the customer was treated by the representative on the phone. I urge the management to reevaluate their methods for dealing with phone calls as it's extremely off-putting.

I found Fleet Concrete on Angie's list and also asked a couple of neighbors who poured their new driveways and it was Fleet also! I was contacted initially by Bob Cluster almost immediately, he was able to see me the following day for our initial consult. Bob was very prompt, professional and very knowledgeable of his services and gave me a few good suggestions to suite my needs. Bob had a proposal for me the following day, I inquired about changing/adding a few items to the proposal and he got right back to me with the additional costs. I also contacted 2 other companies one never returned my calls the other not prompt and was a little bit more expensive. Our biggest time hurdles were the ACC/HOA approvals which went smoothly and then our great county took forever to get the building permit!!! When it was approved Fleet went to work the next day clearing and prepping of the spaces, framing the areas, sprayed for Subterranean termites. The next day had the county inspection done and they were pouring concrete by 1pm. Today Leon was here early and scored the slabs and did additional pick up of the areas. All of the gentleman involved Bob Cluster, Billy, Hiram, Ron, Leon, Mike, Tracy and Mike, were great all would answer any and all crazy question I asked.
