Nate Stevens and his team from First Classing Moving were awesome! They arrived on time, worked non-stop for seven hours loading and unloading, ensuring that all our furniture was properly wrapped, secured, and situated in the new home. They took their time, were efficient, extremely clean, and showed attention to detail, as evidence by time they spent inspecting furniture before they loaded the truck, and after unloading in the new home, and making sure we were happy with the placement of each piece. Nate and his team were professional, experienced, and personable, making the move flawless!

I've spent the last 3 months stressing over a lot of things regarding my move from Florida to Albuquerque but as it turns out one of the things I didn't have to stress about was these awesome movers JAMES DOWNING and BRENT PRICE. These are 2 of the hardest working, polite, professional, meticulous guys I've ever had the experience of dealing with in any industry. First Class is extremely lucky to employ them. It was obvious that they take pride in their work and actually like their jobs. They did not cut any corners and paid close attention to every detail. It was very hot but they never missed a beat, they never took a break and worked for 7 hours straight. They were pleasant the entire time and made the whole experience stress-free for me, which I so appreciated. I highly recommend them without reservation. You won't be sorry.
Description of Work: Two guys, James Downing and Brent Price who work for First Class, came to my house with a truck, took the packed belongings from my house and loaded them into the truck. There were a lot of items that were not packed (furniture, etc.) and they carefully wrapped all of those things in padded blankets.

The initial estimator was extremely punctual, professional, and very efficient. Communication was great throughout the move; all representatives were available for questions/scheduling. There was an extra stop en route to pick up/drop off some items, which went very smoothly. The extra stop was not something that every moving company was willing to do, so they gained my business with that option. Everything was on time, scheduled well, and everyone seemed to care about the contents of my home. The packing crew was A+++ excellent. They packed everything very well, safely, and thoughtfully. The loading/unloading/driving crew was great as well. One nice thing was that the driver and loading/unloading crew was the same on both ends of the trip, so there was familiarity with the items, and a feeling of personal accountability for their care. One of the packers was also present on loading day, which was nice as well for continuity, although that packer was stationed in Florida, and stayed there. We are still in the process of unpacking, and so far we have only found one chopstick that was damaged. That's it. Not bad. There were many fragile items, many small, and some not so small. In a move like this, it is difficult to imagine everything making it safe and sound, but First Class did an excellent job, and I couldn't ask for better. I would hire them again, no hesitations.
Description of Work: First Class packed up the entire contents of my house in Florida, and safely transported them to Colorado.

My move with First Class Movers (now affectionately noted by me to be ?low class movers?) was initiated in November of 2014 after I received 4 other quotes. I ultimately chose this company as they were a subsidiary (or franchise or whatever you call it) due to prior GOOD history with North American and because of Roger Thompson?s excellent client care manor and service. Unfortunately the good service and feelings ended there. I will elaborate on the bullet points. My next encounter was with Christy Brigham. Her title is Customer Service Coordinator? but it became obvious quickly that service is not her forte. Her tone and manner are condescending and rude most of the time. During the move readiness she continued to appear rude; every phone call and interaction with her left me feeling quite bad. After I put in a damage claim that got worse; when I could even reach her. I had them do more packing then planned and she hounded me for days as to ?just how was I going to pay the difference?!? It was approximately $400. The day of the move I had to call when the truck didn?t show up. As it was a pack and move and unload same day (short distance move) I anticipated it would be fairly early but had not been given a time to expect them other than ?sometime in the morning by 11? as I recall. They finally showed up at 11 AM. I was unhappy with the lackadaisical way they carted some of my furniture out to the truck but was basically ignored by the head guy whose name I now forget; maybe Clint. I have a lot of antiques, among them a camel back trunk with the original wallpaper lining still intact. I watched as ?Clint? placed it up on one shoulder and off he went while I visualized it smashing to the ground into pieces. I from now on recommend anyone moving getting an appraisal of everything they own because you will need it for this company! I bought them lunch and dinner and gave each of the three guys a $20 tip at the end of the day; not because I thought they did a great job but because of the hours they had put in. At past 10 PM that same day they finally unloaded the last piece so I didn?t make them wait until I had looked at each piece loaded nor did I make them wait until I unpacked each box. For future reference, I will because that?s one thing Dee (you?ll meet her later) stated went against my claim when we were ?discussing? damage. Over the next 3 weeks (I had one month to unpack items for any claim); I unpacked all boxes; the move was on 10/22/14. On the day of the move they pointed out damage they had caused to my bookshelves which I didn?t even claim. They also pointed out that they had damaged the kick board of my 4 drawer oak file cabinet. The young guy said ?we hammered it back on but it might need more?. Later I found much more damage. Now in all the moves I have made with this file drawer I have always moved it with all files within and this move was no different. I was told by Roger there was no problem doing that. Also, it has always been moved upright and stored in the truck that way. I don?t know how these guys did it but I will swear they must have laid it down with heavy things on top. When I opened the top drawer one of the bars that hold the charts was nowhere to be found and the drawer wouldn?t open correctly. Fairly soon thereafter the drawer below it began to stick when I opened it, then I couldn?t get it open at all. Today the back of the second drawer came off inside the cabinet; I managed to get it out. Prior to the move the entire unit was fine without any problems or signs of weakness or soon to be breaking down issues. Dee also decided that since it was ?so old? it was likely to break and not their fault. When it became apparent I would need to fill out a claim, my issues with Dee began. She makes Christy look like a poster child for Emily Post. Dee was from the beginning antagonistic and while she kept me to the 30 days plan, she has not returned the courtesy. In fact, she does not appear to know what courtesy is takes and rudeness to a new level. She is rude on the phone and talks to customers as though we are bad children; corrects me, chides me, interrupts and takes something you say and turns it around to appear something else. An example?we were discussing my solid oak 4 drawer cabinet. I told her you can?t get those anymore so she wanted to know if had had it appraised and I told her it?s not an antique. Well then, she said you moved it so many times?.. I then told her each time I had moved it was with all files inside. She wanted to blame the damage on the files being left inside and disputed my statement that they had laid it down in the truck. Dee has not asked for, and refused, pictures of the items broken. She ordered a lock for my trunk based upon my description only. It is now 12/28/14. I had 30 days from date of move (10/22/14) to file a claim. I faxed it and sent in e-mail as a scan on 11/18/14 and they acknowledged receipt. Dee informed me she has 30 days also to send me a claim statement and she refused to tell me what that letter would state. It is more than 30 days and I have heard nothing since my last phone call with her on 12/17/14. There have been several e-mails and phone calls prior to that time but none since and I have them all documented. I am very unhappy with the service of First class Movers and am shocked at the lack of professionalism and poor attitude of Christy and Dee. My last phone call was with Roger on 12/17/14 and he told me he would look into the issue and get back to me. I do not recommend this company to anyone. Gail Dudley

Along with what I wrote above I was also appreciative that they were more than willing to haul away old boxes and wrapping paper so that I didnt have to deal with taking it to the county landfill. Job well done!!
Description of Work: They moved 25,000 lbs of furnishings from Riverview, FL to Sebastian, FL. The crew worked very fast and were careful with packing. No damages found so far! They were there when they said they would every day and the driver Thomas was very attentive to my wife's concerns and questions. A great move for us!

Our move from Florida to New York was a nightmare because of First Class Movers of Tampa, Florida. We were given an inaccurate "guaranteed written estimate," incompetent and poorly assessed reviews of our household goods, constant delays of the delivery of our furniture, and a $600.00 unauthorized added charge to our final bill. Our first contact with First Class Movers was a man named Roger two months prior to our moving day. He wrote up a contract for $4200.00 and signed it. But then he added $600.00 to our bill ON MOVING DAY. We also found out on MOVING DAY that our shipment had to be split . The movers showed up on moving day, but ran out of room in their van!!! We were frustrated to learn that the rest of our shipment had to be packed up and stored in their Tampa warehouse the next day. We were informed that the remainder of our household goods (which included our bed) would have to wait 2 weeks to be delivered. They guaranteed delivery of our entire household goods within 7 days of our moving day. It took 18 days. All the while we were sleeping on an air mattress. There were other problems that we experienced with this company, not mentioned here. UPDATE: After reading Ms. Fette's response (Claim and Quality Assurance Specialist) to our posting, we called her on May 12 to discuss our discrepancies. During our phone conversation we quickly realized she was the person we should have been talking to throughout the entire move (not the customer representative we did speak with). Ms Fette had a caring and respectful attitude. If we had dealt with her during our move, we believe many problems would have been resolved, and reasonable explanations would have been given for the inconveniences we experienced. In the end, Ms. Fette agreed to refund most of the $600.00 that was in dispute. We were satisfied with the outcome and gladly updated our rating of First Class Moving System.
Description of Work: Coordi nated a move from our residence in central Florida to New York.

Response from First Class Moving Systems Inc
1. Your estimate was a “Binding Estimate” which means as long as you do not add any items that are not on the survey, you pay for the estimated weight which was 8000 pounds. The surveyor had all good intentions when performing the survey. They do not always see that a shuttle is required. For anyone whom does not know what a “Shuttle” is, this is required when a tractor and trailer cannot gain easy access to your home, apartment etc…. the driver rents a smaller truck (U-Haul or similar company) and takes the items from/to the home larger truck and loads them on the smaller one. Once they are on the smaller truck they are then delivered to your home. There are times that this is not necessarily missed by the surveyor, it can be due to an ordinance, low bridges, trestles, rail road tracks can be raised to high which can cause a driver’s trailer to get caught on them when driving over them and even low lying trees can cause them not to be able to deliver directly (which was the cause for this driver to need a shuttle from this home) to your new location. We are all not perfect and we here at First Class do not claim to be, hence the reason for an in home estimate on each and every move. You claimed that there were constant delays with your items being delivered, due to incompetency from the surveyor. Your original load date of your items was set for 12/20/13 and [member name removed] called to make the change to 12/19/13. Which was done, and your delivery Spread (Spread is a window of dates in which the customer must be available for each day from 8am – 5pm. The driver will confirm with you in a timely fashion on which day he will be available depending on the other customer’s that are also being relocated on his trailer. 24 hour check call is completed by the driver prior to your delivery). Your delivery window was 12/23/13 to 12/28/13. Your main portion of approximately 8000 ponds was delivered to you on 12/23/13. The second portion of your items which was weighed at 2120 pounds, was loaded on 12/30/13 and delivered to your garage on 1/8/14. A call was made from First Class on 12/23/13 to the Mr. letting him know the ETA of the second shipment, so we were in constant contact with the customer’s as well. No issue was stated at any time prior to this review. Your shipment was Binding at the 8000 lbs. was loaded and delivered within our dates as promised. Over Flows which were the items that were not loaded on the original move dates were over the actual estimate. In a normal move when the carrier packs all of your items in “Professional Moving Boxes” more items are packed and secured than by the customer packing their own items to keep costs down. Packing yourselves causes for more boxes, as most people do not realize the packers PACK TO MOVE. Over flows are moved on the first available truck that is moving in that direction as your home. They are moved as the space is available. Each customer is informed at the time that it is evident that all of their items may not fit in the tractor trailer that is at their location. Your delivery of your overage was done in a timely fashion as it delivered 9 days after it was picked up from our location ( this was necessary as it put into our warehouse free of charge to have available for the next driver to pick up), and it loaded from our warehouse directly after Christmas. Which we all know is a busy time for everyone Customer’s that were loaded prior to yours, did they move more items on their shipment?? A customer that was loaded prior to your items may have been the cause as well for the over flow of your items. If they added items without making their customer service department aware, no one would have any way of knowing until the driver arrived. Most people think a few items do not make a difference and never mention this even when asked. This can make for an over flow where under normal circumstances it would not. All customer’s should always make the sales person or the move coordinator aware if you do not get rid of items you stated you would not be moving. If you add items to your move, so do not wait for the driver to show up and then let him know. Your “Survey” not your “Estimate” was done on 10/22/13. [member name removed] contacted Roger on 12/4-12/5 and stated that they have chosen to move with First Class, so the decision to move was well over a month and a half after the actual walk through of their home prior to the actual move. Did you keep items that you had stated would not move? Were items added the to the shipment without thought to additional weight? [member name removed] stated that they waited to 2 weeks for the rest of their items, which included their bed. There are 8 pages of inventoried items that were moved from your home on the original load date with the first driver. On page 1 #’s 219 & 220 were your Queen headboard and footboard, page 2 #’221 & 222 were the bedrails for that same bed, page 2 as well # 223 & 224 were the Queen Mattress and Box Spring. This was the only bed to be moved from your home on load day one. The second portion of your load was 2 pages of items inventoried that were not loaded with the original shipment. On those pages I have found on page 2 #’s 287 was the bedrails for a single bed, as well as #’s 299 & 300 which were the mattress and box spring for the same single bed. With ANY moving company it is PRIORITY to make sure that if there is ever going to be a chance that the driver will NOT get the entire shipment, and an over flow is possible ALL beds MUST be loaded. If they are not loaded the customer has full recourse of what we call “Delay Of Inconvenience”. At which time they can file for a Hotel until the beds are delivered, or a new bed whichever is less will be PAID no exceptions. There was never a claim filed for this, as they DID have a bed delivered with the first truck and it is proven on the paperwork which is signed as delivered from [member name removed]. I am not sure why [member name removed] would post a false review stating that they had to sleep on an air mattress for 3 weeks as they only waited for 2 weeks for the second shipment and their bed arrived within the “Guaranteed Delivery”. We honored the load & Delivery times that were first acknowledged and signed not only on the estimate, but also the Bill Of Lading. Also I would like to mention that the Single bed was never even put into the actual home, as the customer signed that this was to be put into the garage. So we are sure that the Queen bed was in the home on the first delivery as the paperwork stated. The very last sentence in [member name removed]’s review states “there were many more”. All the notes state that they we were in constant contact with the customer, they were aware of each truck and the deliveries (times and dates). I feel that [member name removed] never gave anyone a chance until he called to let us know that he was disputing the shuttle charge on his Credit Card The call from [member name removed] was on 2/25/14 which was well over a month after the second shipment delivered. They knew of the charge on the first load date of 12/19/13, why wait this long?? Calls were made about the additional charges, as well as the paperwork documented and signed by the Mrs. As well. I would be willing to come to some agreement if the funds actually were paid to First Class Moving and have not been declined due to the customer’s call on 2/25/14. However I do believe that a correction on this review would be the honest thing for [member name removed]. There is very little substantiation to accusations, as well as the documents/documentation that we have signed by [member name removed] on both shipments and deliveries. I know that everyone can get angry, I am all for letting others now what your experience was like. Not everything goes as perfectly as planned, however the world is not perfect as well. I wish them well, and hope that this can come to satisfactory close where [member name removed] are happy! On a Binding Estimate the cost should not really have been for them to cover. I would be willing to work with them in any way to make sure that they are given some type of credit/resolution as long as the funds were not completely disputed already. They came to us on Monday to start packing and they gave us a bid. The weather was bad and they charged us an additional 1,000 to return to do the work. However, the weather is not in our control and my husband was upset. This is the ninth move I have experienced, and it's the worst ever. I also marked exactly where I wanted the furniture to go and I even supplied a diagram. They did not put anything were it belonged. I would not recommend their services or use them again.

My husband and I hired First Class Moving to pack and move our home contents from Safety Harbor, FL to Fargo, ND. I did as much research as one can do without having personal or business recommendations. I researched Angie?s List, The Better Business Bureau and by searching the internet and looking for reviews. It was pretty scary, I?ll admit, because it seems that there were only negative comments everywhere I looked; on all the big carriers. Since this was a rather sudden relocation, and a decision had to be made; I went with First Class Moving. Basically because they had an A or a B on Angie?s list, and I couldn?t find anything negative posted on the Internet. Our salesman, Phil. was extremely helpful, polite, and available; until we signed the contract. After that, you couldn?t get a hold of Phil if your life depended on it. We paid to have all our things packed, and moved to Fargo with most being delivered to my apartment, but several things going to my son?s garage in Fargo. We paid extra for the second stop. It would take too long to write this as a narrative, in paragraph form. And since I have already wasted many hours (and elevated Blood Pressures) I?m going to list the problems as they occurred. 1- Lead packer went through our house and garage with my husband labeling what would be going to the first stop and what would be going to the second. This was crucial as it determined what got loaded where. At 6pm they discovered they had no mattress box. No Phil, several attempts to reach him to find out how to get a mattress box were unsuccessful. I did leave him several messages and he never got back to me, ever. Not even the next day. Had to hope that my $1800 mattress would survive squeezed into the truck unprotected. 2- They packed on the 14th, loaded on the 15th and would deliver between the 22nd and the 26th. Our driver was insistent that he would be there before Thanksgiving (the 24th). We got a call on the Wednesday before stating he would be there Friday. Got a call Friday saying they would be there on Saturday. 3- Truck arrived here at the apartment in Fargo approx 10 am Saturday the 26th. They began to unload when they decided that for some reason, it looked like the second stop items were up front and so they would go there first. They get to my son?s house, only to discover that there were only a few items of the second stop in front. But it was too late. They had to unload ALL OF OUR STUFF at my son?s house; onto the lawn and driveway; to get to the items to be stored at his house. It was during this fiasco that they dropped and broke a floor lamp. And threw it away. Once they got all the stuff off and into my son?s garage; they had to load everything back on the truck and bring it back to my apartment. Keep in mind that they un-wrapped all the furniture to see what went where and did not take care to re-wrap it when they put it back on the truck. 4- When they finally got back here to my apartment (the FIRST stop) it was after 4; and getting dark and it was cold. They had hired local workers, who refused to carry anything up the stairs. My apartment is located at the end of the building on the second floor. There is a staircase RIGHT WHERE THE TRUCK RAMP WAS that was ONE short flight up to my apartment. Instead, they carried everything down a very long hall to put it on an elevator. I stayed in the apartment at first. But when I went down to check, I could not believe my eyes. My stuff was EVERYWHERE!! In the hall by the elevator on the first floor, unattended. In the hall by the elevator on the 2nd floor, unattended. And in the elevator. I actually got on the elevator and lo and behold, there was some of my furniture. All by itself, riding up and down the elevator!!! I said something to one of the workers about using the stairs. And he said to me: ?Lady, you?re lucky you got anybody here to help you on this holiday weekend.? I was speechless, but not for long. I told him if he didn?t want to work in the cold he should go home, and he did. My son and I ended up having to move things off the truck and into my apartment or it would have taken several days to get it done. BTW, the truck driver? Never got out of the truck!!! Ever, not once. What a fiasco this was turning out to be. 5- I was trying to check off the inventory of things, which is very difficult to do in an organized manner; never mind in what was a complete cluster f***. Around 8 or 9 pm they said they were done, that they had unloaded everything of mine. Not quite. I still didn?t see my 100 year old dining room buffet. Now, keep in mind this piece is 55 inches long, 42 inches high and 42 inches deep. How do you miss that? And it weighs about 500 lbs!!! He says, ?well I?ll go check, but I didn?t see anything like that?. But he did find it, in someone else?s load on another part of the trailer. 6- After they left, and the next day, and the week after. I began to take note of what wasn?t there and what was broken. I was missing my vacuum, a standing teak shelf, a wooden file cabinet on wheels, and a box with decorative items and wooden shelves. They broke a standing wooden mirror, 2 antique sofa tables, a lamp, my IKEA wall laundry system, and 2 bikes (gears are crushed). 7- I have pictures of how some of the boxes were packed; ridiculous. For example, they would wrap a couple of loose paper clips and some coins in several layers of paper. Yet they put my all-in-one printer and a new scanner in a box together, sideways, with no protection between them!!!! 8- I spoke with Renee Archer several times during this move. She works in the office at First Class Moving. I spoke with her the day after the load about the mattress box and she was so nice and helpful and told me if there was anything wrong with the mattress she would help me get a claim filed and it resolved. I have realized she was only this nice during that call because they hadn?t gotten paid yet. I spoke with the First Class Moving office via phone and email over the next several days after the move. I sent pictures of the damages. And finally Renee told me that there was nothing that they could do. That they were only an agent for North American and it was out of their hands. I could not believe my ears. This information was in no way shared with us when we signed the contract. They made it seem as if they were a franchise type company. She would do nothing for me except let someone know at North American that I would be making a claim. So she pretty much lied to me when she told me she would help me earlier in the move. 9- We submitted a claim with North American, online. Got a call from a local gentleman here in Fargo who said he contracted with North American and would be handling my claim. He came over, took some pictures; and took one of the sofa tables to repair it. He came back with the sofa table about 2 weeks later. And really hadn?t done anything to it. I haven?t heard from him since. Nor have I heard from North American about my claim. 10- We didn?t get the North American insurance coverage on our items because my husband had called our renters insurance company and they said it was covered under that policy, for 30 days after move. Plus, our salesman Phil said ?they never have problems?. Well, turns out our renters isn?t going to cover it either (that?s a whole other complaint). So we are out a few hundred dollars worth of stuff.,

Renee Archer was extremely helpful with all details of the move. There was only a few days to coordinate the move. Communication was frequent (emails and phone calls). The gentlemen who moved us worked diligently in the oppressive heat. They were careful with the furniture and wrapped each piece. I would recommend this company to anyone.

Our movers David and Willie arrived on time and were both professional and friendly. They made the lifting of heavy furniture look easy. In addition they loaded numerous heavy boxes onto the truck. Packing of the truck went smoothly even though they were unable to park in the driveway of our small cul-de-sac. Unpacking of the truck also went quickly and efficiently. Our movers David and Willie put our belongings exactely where we wanted them. They also put our furniture back together again. In addition the price was as quoted. Overall the experience was very pleasant and it has restored my belief that there are still good moving companies out there. I would use "Lets Get Moving" again on our next move.
Description of Work: Moving heavy furniture and boxes from a three bedroom house to three bedroom apartment 130 miles away.
