+ 0 moreWe arranged with Bay Area Kitchens to have our renovation to include granite counter tops. Unfortunately the owner of Bay Area Kitchens was not an honorable man. He walked away from his business taking money from clients and not completing (or in some cases not even starting) the job. He did not pay companies who provided him with materials. In our case the granite and installation portion was performed by Classic stone Gallery. Although installation was delayed - once by injury to installer and another due to non-payment to classic stone gallery from Bay Area Kitchens. Classic stone Gallery sub contracted the installation from another company as their installer was still not back on the job. The crew that came could not speak any English and did not provide any information on care etc. We contacted Classic Stone Gallery and spoke to Joe Plazzo, the owner. he apologized on the performance of the crew. He also came out looked at their job, made some corrections, sealed the granite and did everything possible to make us happy. However Joe was not happy as Bay Area Kitchens had not paid him. Originally we were tole by bay area kitchens to pay classic stone galleries after installation. Then we were told to pay bay area kitchens and if we didn't it would violate our contract and they would not finish the job - so we paid bay area kitchens. I worked closely with Joe and Bay area kitchens to ensure Joe received the monies owed to him by bay area kitchens. I assume that was done as I did not hear back from Joe. The sad part is the owner of bay area kitchens did a runner and never finished our job anyway. For the record I found Joe Plazza to be extremely professional not only for the work undertaken but also for the understanding of customers issues and concerns. I am planning to have my bathroom renovated in the future and plan to use Classic Stone Gallery to do the job.

They promptly completed the work and reinstalled the sink in a manner which will ensure that it will not cause problems again. I was impressed with the work and the explaination of why the repair was done the way it was. Total time was less than two hours and I was able to use the sink again to finish the Tanksgiving Day dishes.Great service.
Description of Work: While washing up after Thanksgiving the Kitchen sink seperated from the counter top. The sink had been improperly installed by the previous owner and was an accident waiting to happen. I called Classic Stone Gallery on the Friday after Tanksgiving and was offered an appointment the folowing day.

He was available to answer all my questions throughout the process. I could not have been more pleased with the professionalism of the company and the great workmanship.

+ 0 moreDon't sign the contract unless you have EVERYTHING SPELLED OUT.
Description of Work: Placed granite and marble floors in every room of the house except for the bedrooms. We purchased the stone elsewhere so the fees show only installation charge. Communication was a problem because no one spoke clear English. The workers only spoke Spanish or Italian. The owners spoke a fair amount of English but because of their accent they were hard to understand. The wood around the doors and the walls had nicks all over them from the blasting out the tile. Even some of my antique furniture have nicks in them. I was hoping they would clean up their messes when they left but they did not. There were dirty hand prints on all of my walls. Make sure when you have a contract with them, and you plan to have quarter molding put in, that they pay for it and for the services of having a person come out and lay it out. The man that they hired to do the quarter molding forgot to do the closets in the back of the house so my husband had to do them. Also, installer did not do a good job in installing the moulding as there were gaps in places where the moulding did not meet. The person who had to restretch the carpet, did a horrible job. He was contracted by them. Not a pleasant experience. However, the man who laid the floor did a superb job. He was hard working and knew what he was doing. The floors are beautiful and would highly recommend him. If you choose this company, you will have some beautiful floors. Take care and have them put up something other than clear plastic to protect your furniture...or just move all the furniture out so you don't get nicks in your valuable antiques. I would use them again and do recommend them.
