Description of Work: Looks like Brian's friends wrote the other reviews. Either that, or he simply took a dislike to me and treated me horribly throughout the job. I certainly hope that does not happen to you. He has the ability to do a good job, but he's not about to go out of his way, even in the slightest, to assist a customer. He is quite the prima donna. I'll explain. We re-did the 2 bathrooms in my mother's home. I purchased my own tile. As a result he announced that he didn't get any materials for people who bought their own tile. This, to the extent that I had to leave my work a few times each day to run to get a tube of grout or bag of thinset, etc., as he was unwilling to drive literally the 6 blocks necessary to get to either the local Lowe's or Home Depot. I said nothing but simply did what he asked, as I appreciated his help, and I needed to get the job done. This while he criticized my walls, my tile design - you name it. He did the work but was difficult throughout. He was paid in full when the job was complete. He was not the lowest bid. I am involved with an extremely large construction project that has been ongoing for years and also work in real estate and own a few properties, so I have dealt with a lot of contractors, and I've never been treated this way by anyone. While Brian was finishing the tile work, my plumber had to wait for parts to come in. When they did come in a couple of weeks later, he installed the bath fixtures. At that point, I discovered that Brian had cut a hole in the tile around the shower valve that was way too large. According to other tile folks I have since used, that's not the way it's done. There is no reason at all to cut a hole larger than the valve itself. The valve was existing in the wall when the hole was cut, so it wasn't that Brian had to guess as to size. When the plumber installed the collar that surrounds the shower handle where you turn on the water, the hole cut in the tile still appears outside that thick collar! Rather than bother Brian about it, I spent 2 days trying to get a collar that would be large enough to cover the hole he cut in the tile. Apparently, the collars are fairly standard size, and I could not find one. I had just set down on my calendar to call Brian when he called me! He was supposedly checking on the job and asked me about another bath/shower job that I had mentioned to him at the beginning. My other job was done by another professional, since Brian was not available for a month at the time I mentioned it. The other contractor made great suggestions, built in nooks for soaps and razors, etc. His name is Bob Rothenbush with Serenity Tile Service, and I recommend him highly. I told Brian that, it just so happened that there was a problem with the job he had done and that he would need to repair that one tile. He made an appointment for July 2nd to do the work. Mind you, he called me, so he did have my phone number. Also, the home where the work was done is on lockbox, and he had the code and had gone in and out of the home for a couple of weeks. He told me he would be at the home at 8am July 2nd. It wasn't an option for me to tell him when to be there. He set the time. Fine, I thought. He has the code and my number and can get in and get this done. I went about my work. Brian never told me he needed me to meet him at the home. He had always managed to come and go as he pleased. July 2 came and went, and my colleage who was working at the home later that day told me that Brian had not done the work but simply left his card in the door. He had not attempted to call me at all. When I called Brian, I had had it and left him a VM that I was upset that he had not completed the repair - and never called or anything to tell me if there was some problem! Here is his response (from his text to me): "We had an appointment for 8am Monday morning. I don't save your number or lockbox code. It was deleted. You need to find someone else to do that patch. I am now headed to NJ for the month of July." Suffice it to say, Brian was playing games as he did have my number and was obviously capable of getting in touch with me. By the way, he also had my email address, knew where I lived, knew my last name, and I am quite visible on the internet, so it would have taken no real effort to find a way to connect with me if there was a problem. So, there is my experience. He might have skills, but he doesn't have the professionalism to correct defects in his work, and his attitude is over the top. I am now having to contact another contractor to fix the defects in Brian's work, which seems to be just fine with Brian. I don't normally write reviews, but this is such a terrible experience, and Brian left me no options.
