Doc's Restorations

I thought the people who did the work were very good. They seemed quite skilled, very pleasant people to work with, and they tried very hard to accommodate our particular needs and wishes. It was a well-done job. I had no problems with them.

They sent a consultant to visit our home to access our needs. Two days after the visit we visited their showroom in Summerfield, just a few miles down the road form our home, to pick out cabinet doors and discuss which color white we wanted. The consultant, George Birman, wrote everything down and we paid a deposit for the work to be performed. George informed us that it would take three to four weeks for the doors to come in. one week after our visit to the showroom Steve Gurley, Doc's cabinetry division manager, cam e to our home to review the project. He looked over the job and recounted doors twice before informing us that we had ordered too many doors. Steve was able to get the order adjusted prior to delivery. We were informed that the doors had arrived on time and the crew would be out the next morning to start the job. Steve reminded us to take everything out of the cabinets for the thermal-foil process. The cabinet crew showed up at the appointed time to start the process on renovation. They were very professional and laid traps on the floe and card board on the countertops and appliances prior to starting. The project took 21/2 days and the crew kept us informed of each days tasks and asked us for a resolution to any issues that came up; such as the molding around the stove vent hood. Steve came b6y a few days later to inspect the crews work, ask us if we had and questions or concerns and give us an updated bill. We were given a 10% discount on labor for providing the Angie's list coupon a few days after we placed the order. They reduced our total bill by $450 to adjust for the incorrect number of doors quoted. All in all this was a GREAT experience.

Josh and Tim did an excellent and timely adjustment to both doors. The problem door is working effectively now and the other door better than it was before. The two men worked as a team with one lifting up the heavy 8 foot door while the other did the adjustment. We appreciated the attention to detail. We appreciate the immediate and professional service and readily recommend Doc's Restorations.

Guess they didn't want my remodel business.

I ordered tile from Lowe's. Doc's picked it up and did all the work while I was out of town. They did a great job. I am so pleased. A little bit of sprucing up and cosmetic remodeling saved me from redoing the whole kitchen.

Doc's Restorations does not paint the areas using a pattern - they only paint solid colors. In addition, the representative told me that they can not pressure clean the area. This would have to be performed by another company because their equipment was not working properly. The representative was kind enough to give me a referral for the pressure washing. However, I decided to keep looking since I wanted a pattern on the driveway and wanted an estimate to include the painting and the pressure cleaning.

Let me start by saying this job could have gone horribly wrong, and did, but my faith in Doc's was restored after they corrected all the issues caused by a very disgruntled employee, plus a couple of factory-related issues. We scheduled our kitchen restoration to start on August 5th - everything went well until the tile person started his portion of work. He talked incessantly and didn't work while he talked, to the point that neither my husband or I wanted to be in the same room with him just to keep him working. He told us how he was going to give his notice and quit - the day he did, he left our job at noon and didn't come back. The next day, another person came to grout the tile - it was then that we took a good look at the way the tile was laid. It was crooked in some spots, unfinished on the edges, generally a very sloppy job. I called VP Jason soon after that to ask him to take a look at what was done - he came the next day with the person who did the grouting & an operations manager. They were very distraught when they saw the tile work - they decided to rectify it by ripping out the tile from a good portion of the backsplash and redoing it, which meant more tile dust, more disruption. Tile had to be ordered, and we had visitors coming, so it was a little while before they could schedule the re-tile. There were also 2 cabinet doors that had to be redone, due to a shiny spot on the doors that happened at the factory, plus a drawer front came in the wrong size and had to be reordered. The second tile job was successful and everything was completed within a week - the company president came to see that the job was progressing as planned. They fulfilled their end of the deal and then some, and bent over backwards to ensure we, as customers, were happy and satisfied. If we have one criticism, it would be that communication is sometimes lacking. There were a few times that we were supposed to get a return phone call which never came. Bottom line, I would recommend Doc's Restoration - my kitchen looks beautiful and it was all worth it!

We will definitely use this company again. Alan, the kitchen designer, worked with us to come up with our dream kitchen! We love it and will enjoy having this space to entertain our family and friends for a long time. Our time line was four weeks. It actually took five weeks but that was not bad considering that it was a total gut job from ceiling to floor. Much of the extra time was not their fault as one cabinet and backsplash tile were damaged during shipping. They worked overtime to get this job done and brought in a cleaning crew to finish up that left the work area spotless. Pricewise they came in on target. Our final bill was only $100 more than the original budget but that was because we added one more thing before the job was finished. Their crews were very professional and the owner, Stephen, was on top of what was going on throughout the progress of this job. This company is really good. Nearly all materials needed for the job were delivered before the demolition began and crews coordinated their work so that there were no delays or gaps in their progress. We are looking forward to engaging them again to do our guest bath renovation.

Alan came and discussed the job with us so he knew just what we needed. We used the "handy man" service they offered at an hourly rate. He was on time & did a fantastic job.

Doc's performed the following services: Removed original popcorn ceiling from the entire house and replaced it with knock down. They painted the entire interior of the home. Installed crown moulding in the main living and dining areas. Refaced all the kitchen cabinets. Replaced all the formica countertops (kitchen and 2 baths) with granite. Installed new kitchen sink and garbage disposal. Replaced all faucets. Installed new soaker tub and tile in the master bath and an expanded walk in tile shower in the guest bath. Installed new toilets. Replaced bathroom exhaust fans. Installed new utility sink in laundry room. Installed new 220W line in laundry room. Installed under cabinet lighting in the kitchen. Installed 6 new can lights in the kitchen area. They also did numerous detail jobs that my wife requested (can't remember them all!). Overall they did an excellent job. All of the people from Doc's were very curteous and professional. Jason, our job contractor, was extremely helpful and responsive. I would not hesitate to use their service again. I highly recommend them to anyone needing professional home repair services.

Crew arrive on time for job. Worked full days and appeared very well organized. Spent much time on detail work and keeping everything clean and neat. Filled in wall holes from pictures etc. Moved furniture where necessary and put back after second coat. Very well pleased with the work and promptness. Representative retured after the job to inspect and get our input..

Al Dempsey arrived on schedule and took out the half wall that was separating the dining area from the living room. He was very careful to contain the dust, etc to the area he was working in. He patched the connecting wall and ceiling and came back the next day when that was dry and blew the knock down stucco onto the walls. It matched perfectly and we painted the walls ourselves the next day. We were very happy with the looks of the wall after the job was complete. You would never know there was another wall there. I would definitely recommend this company and Al.

IT WENT FINE. WE HAD A SMALL PUNCH LIST AT THE END AND RON WAS GREAT TO WORK WITH, HE MADE SURE THAT EVERYTHING GOT DONE TO OUR SATISFACTION. HE WAS GREAT, NO PROBLEM TALKING TO HIM AT ALL. I called Doc's and they gave me an estimate and came on time the day we had arranged. The repairman was fast, nice and I was very pleased with his performance.

Al Dempsey, the technician, arrived on time. He was very professional and knew what to do and how to hang these paintings. Some of them had glass in front and were heavy. He measured and hung them at eye level and many of them in the middle of a wall, exactly what we requested. We are very pleased with the outcome.

We had a problem with a smell coming from behind a piece of sheet rock in a bedroom. The woodwork around the floor had lifted some. We did not know what was causing the smell and had them check. Neil came right on time, and found the problem. He gave us an estimate for the work. He came back and fixed the area and painted it. His work is very good and we were very happy with it. I would recommend Neil as it looks very nice. Very good work!

Docs Restoration did an outstanding job rehabbing my mother's home for sale. They were professional, on time and on budget. I was especially impressed with their excellent communication and customer satisfaction of their services. I priced the services separately but Docs was able to perform all the necessary services at just a slightly higher price and was worth not having to deal with three separate contractors

It looks very nice and everything turned out ok.

Communication remains a problem and the attitude of the office staff needs severe adjustment.

The job went well overall and Ron did an excellent job in our opinion. Ron put himself in our shoes and did not sell us anything or do any work we didn't need. We got an Angie's List 10% discount from the coupon on their listing. We were so impressed we asked for a quote on kitchen back splash installation which seemed very reasonable; we plan to do the kitchen back splash at a later date. Ron was very professional and knowledgable about not only doors but a lot of handyman tasks from talking with him. We had advised we were long-time Angie's List customers from both Atlanta and Indianapolis. We got a price range from the owner of Doc's prior to Ron coming out and the price was within the range of other quotes. Based on the work done, the final price seemed to be a fair price. We would recommend Doc's for handyman service in general and patio door repair in particular based on this good experience.

We needed a couple of small tasks accomplished. There was a hole in the drywall approximately 5 inches in diameter. The patch was done so well that it is difficult to see even when we know where it is. The texture and paint job perfectly matched the surrounding wall. Exterior lights on the garage and post lamp needed to be replaced. The new ones did not exctly match the existing base but after they were installed you would never know. The level of quality and professionalism was outstanding.

It went very well. They did a great job. They showed up and took care of the problem. Billing was what I expected. I would definitely use them again in the future. I was happy with their work.
