Description of Work: Mr. Brown called back promptly, even though he does not service my area. I really appreciated the callback. Very personable fellow.

Description of Work: John went above and beyond to research the work needed on our newer HE washing machine. He admitted not knowing exactly what was wrong, but he came back the next day with the information to get the machine up and running again. He could have told us anything, but his honesty was greatly appreciated.

Description of Work: John called back within a couple hours of my leaving a message and was very polite and scheduled an appointment for my dishwasher repair and to check out the water line to my refrigerator. He arrived on time (although it was during the Phillies game, but that was my own fault for not checking the schedule). He worked quickly and efficiently on my dishwasher and completed the repair. He moved on to my refrigerator and reconnected the water line that I had been battling with Sears and the manufacturer over since I had purchased it 2 years before. John then asked if there was anything else I needed taken care of, to which I replied "How much are we up to now?" He came right back and said "$120". Seemed fair to me, so I had him check out the 2nd (old) refrigerator in the basement that had been pooling water in the bottom of the fridge for years. He immediately knew that the problem was the freezer not draining properly, fixed it, and gave me a final price of $135. I cut him a check, watched 10 minutes of the Phillies with him while he finished up the paperwork, and called it a day. When I told my fiancee all that he had done and how much it cost, her only reaction was, "No way! That's awesome!" Repairmen like this are a dying breed. Honest, knowledgeable, efficient, and fair. Use John Brown while he's working. He's been doing this for 45 years. I hope he has 45 more in his tank!

Description of Work: Replaced the igniter on my dryer. Had the part. He knew exactly what he was doing. Excellent service.

Description of Work: Electric dryer stopped working. Mr. Brown diagnosed the problem quickly and replaced a thermal fuse.

Description of Work: Replace large bearing on inside gas dyer door.

Description of Work: Mr. Brown repaired my oven. He was incredible!! Not only did he get right back to me, but even when he couldn't make it on the day chosen because he was ill, he made sure to contact me. He then came on time and was delightful! As it turned out, he replaced the heating element in my oven. The next day, the new element blew out and the oven became overly hot. When we called him to report this, he said that he would come check it out the next day, which he did. When he inspected the oven, he discovered that the GE element had somehow blown out the electronic circuit board. He called to find a new one, and replaced the electronic board at his own expense! I expected that he would charge me something for it, but he took full responsibility for the defective piece. We were truly appreciative of all his time, his courteousness and prompt attention to this.

Description of Work: I HAD A BENT TUBE IN MY FRIDGE AND A CRACKED PIECE OF PLASTIC IN MY ICE MACHINE.

Description of Work: Our very old oven was not lighting. John replaced the ignitor and got it working again.
