John C Brown Appliance Repair

When I called to schedule the appointment I thought John C Brown Appliance Repair was the company that was coming out. The person that came out was from Fisher Appliance Repair and seemed to be a sub contractor. They tried to charge me $10 more than the estimate I had gotten over the phone. The repairman told me that John C. Brown Appliance Repair was in Florida and had given them his business. I tried to contact John C Brown Appliance Company again but there was no answer.

We like John. We have used him for 5+ years.

I called John Brown Appliance repair to repair my dryer. I left a message. A short time later, John called back himself to explain that he was in the hospital and unable to take my service call. He then recommended someone who was wonderful. I know he never performed the repair for me, but I thought I had to mention that despite being in the hospital, he took the time to call me back. Kudos to him.

I called Mr. Brown to fix my tenants dishwasher. I gave Mr. Brown the phone number to my tenant so that he could call her and he could discuss with her the problem that she was having with the dishwasher and set up a time that was good for her. After a few suggestions to her over the phone Mr. Brown was able to diagnose the problem as a clogged drain and not a broken dishwasher. Mr. Brown gave me a phone number of a plumber that he recommended to fix/unclog the drain. I use Mr. Brown for all of my appliance repair jobs. He always returns my calls, is accommodating to schedules, had good prices, does good work, and continues his training on appliances after all his years in business. Honesty and integrity are what keeps me coming back to Jim Brown.

This is the second time I have used Jim Brown. I called Jim out to fix my dryer. Jim came out first thing in the morning the next day. He diagnosed the problem as being a bad heating element. Jim had the part on his truck. He installed the part and my dryer works like new again.

I highly recommend Mr. Brown. He is very honest and accommodating to his customers. I never have a problem with his service, quality of work, or price. He always calls me back! I called Mr. Brown to fix the refrigerator and he made to the tenants apartment that night because he understood how important it is to have a refrigerator in working order.

JIM BROWN IS MY GO-TO-GUY FOR APPLIANCE!!!! I called Jim Brown to come over and fix my washer. Jim asked me if I was handy, and that he would tell me how to fix the washer over the phone, but if I needed him, that he would be right over. Jim Brown said that if I could not get the part from Lowe's or Home Depot, that he had them on his truck and he would be over to sell the part to me. Jim Brown did what no other appliance repair person would do for me, HELP ME OUT FOR FREE. Jim Brown never charged me or asked for money for his service.

Called John Brown appliance and he showed up within a few days and repaired within 48 hours complete ! Would highly recomend this company !

He was very pleasant and very professional. Arrived on time all the way from Huntingdon Valley (we live in Glenside). He was very knowlegeable, experienced, and knew how to fix it right away. I'll call on Mr. Brown for all our appliance needs.

He fixed it, it works fine now. We were happy with the service.

John Brown blew me off. When i first called and told him my location, he didnt seem happy about it but still scheduled an appointment for a couple days later, in the morning. I work normal hours and it's tough for me to make time for these types of things, but i asked to come in late so i could handle this. I asked john for his earliest appointment, 8:30-9am and got a call from John at 8:45 to tell me that he woke up to brake noises on his truck and decided to stop at the dealership. "i was here at 7am and my truck STILL isn't ready." Needless to say, i didnt buy his excuse and when he tried to reschedule for another day i just told him nevermind. I scheduled an appt with Keith from Aand L instead and he was awesome (didnt fix my fridge, but got it fixed for free under warranty instead). I do not reccomend John Brown.

They did work for me about two weeks ago. He was pretty responsive. He came the same day I called.

John did a fabulous job. He was informative and made clear the details of the repair. He indicated that the existing part being replaced was problematic and that the new part had a different design which was expected to keep the problem from happening in the future. The work was completed quickly.

I called that morning and he showed up right on time in the afternoon. He was professional, courteous, very fairly priced, and pleasant. I can't recommend him enough.

He asked about what was going on with the dishwasher over the phone and was able to diagnose it. He showed up with the correct part. He had his tools with him and was very clean. He was talking to me while he was repairing the dishwasher and it seemed liked he could have done it with his eyes closed. He had a minivac with him and swept everything up as well. He was terrific.

He came out and informed me that I needed a new refrigerator. He didn't do any work, just simply showed me why I needed a new unit. I appreciated that he was very persistent with me, as I work and was hard to communicate with. I was very, very pleased and I would recommend him to anyone.

My washing machine broke over the weekend. Since I work full time and didn't want to take time off from work to have the appliance fixed, I thought there might be a company willing to fix it over the weekend. I called a company which advertised 24/7 service and their answering service took my information and said that I would get a call back in 15 minutes. I waited for 1-1/2 hrs and didn't get a call back. I finally went out and about to do what I had to do. When I got home later in the day there was a phone message that the company could fix my washer that Monday afternoon and the man told me to call the office in the morning to confirm the appointment. I called the office first thing in the morning and the office staff said that the Monday afternoon appt was not available but they could fit me in on Tuesday afternoon, between 3 pm and 6 pm. I asked them to meet me at 4 pm instead of 3 pm since I could not get home from work any earlier. They refused to do it. I called 2 other companies and they had 4 hour windows whereby I would have to take time off from work in order to meet them by 12 or 1 pm. I finally found John C Brown Appliance Repair on Angie's list and called him and left a voicemail. He called me back within an hour and said he would be willing to meet me after 4 pm that same day! He came on time and fixed my washer within an hour. He was very proficient, clean, polite, and said he has 44 years of experience. He was professional and his price was within the ballpark for appliance repairs. I would recommend him in a heartbeat and will definitely call him any time I need appliance repair. You cannot find a better appliance repair person, in my opinion.

John was prompt, dianosed and repaired the refrigerator drain line. I mentioned an apparent leak along an outside wall near the dishwasher, John investigated and found a slow leak in the washer line. This required a part, which he ordered and returned to install. This was completely satisfactory service at a fair price.

His service is excellent. I've used him in the past and for a number of years. I wouldn't use anyone else. He is quick and does things with great efficiency. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a appliance repair man.

Great person to work with. Came over to my house on my schedule (and that's not easy!). I later learned from a few friends who had used him that they had had equally satisfying experiences using Mr. Brown.

He is a wonderful serviceman and responds very quickly. He is a great guy and is very professional. He made a point to come to me before he went on his family vacation. I would recommend.

He came when he said he would be there. He had showed me everything that was wrong before he had done the work. He had made sure everything was working right before he had left. He had cleaned up everything before he had left.

I reached John on the telephone. He was willing to come out the following day (due to my availability we had to schedule further out). He asked me for a part model # so he could be sure he had it on his truck. Even though I accidentally gave him the oven model # as opposed to the part #, he still had it on his truck. The service was quick. He was personable. I also asked him what else his repairs - I would definitely use him again. I only wish I knew him 2 months ago when I had problems with my washer and dryer.

Excellent dealing with John Brown. I called him 4 o'clock in the afternoon and left a message on his voice mail. Returned my call 6 o'clock same day. HE was at my house by 9 o'clock a.m. the next day. He found the problem right away and fixed it. Washing machine now works great.

We were scheduled to go on vacation in a few days when I noticed that the fan in the freezer compartment was making a louder than usual noise. I contacted John on Tuesday and he was able to schedule a visit the next afternoon. He diagnosed the problem and had to order the fan motor. He came the next afternoon and finished the job. He is very customer-oriented, giving explanations and responding quickly to our needs. He also is very reasonable in his charges. We are definitely glad to have found him and will call on him again.
