Tile removal was messy, but I understand that's the way it goes. My vinyl kitchen floor is perfect. No seams & everything is centered perfectly. The rug was delivered, old carpet removed, all areas cleaned completely, before laying the pad. The carpet was installed flawlessly, absolutely no seams showing. Doesn't look like there are any. The installers were very professional, I would call them craftsmen.
Description of Work: Custom ordered kitchen flooring & carpet for my entire house. Chuck was very patient & knowledgeable, helping with the products. He's experienced & doesn't hesitate to let you now the pros & cons of your selections. He organized workers to remove my old tile & install the kitchen flooring. Also had his carpet installers here on time& returning to check every thing was done to my satisfaction.

David was a very helpful salesman and Chris's install team did a really professional job. They had to come back to pick up extra supplies and took the time to clean the floor removing all the dust...probably not normal but what a great touch for us moving into our new house. Thanks

Floors Direct was willing to negotiate the price. I liked the price. They were very, very nice. I really liked them. I thought we got really great service at the showroom and paid a lot of attention to us. I thought the guys who came and laid the carpet were very professional, did a very nice job, cleaned up nicely, and were very polite. They moved the furniture. Overall I was very pleased. I was very impressed with them. They are reliable, honest, very forth right in their prices, and they were willing to deal with their prices. They were very honest, fair, and open. They were here right when they said they would be. We have recommended them to other people and we would use them again.

This was an easy and excellent transaction. The very knowledgeable Clay at Floors Direct showed me what my options were. I took home a sample for husband's advice/approval. Purchased a 12-foot x 45-foot length and had Floors Direct hold the carpet until other work in the lanai was complete. The "other work" took several weeks longer than we anticipated, but Floors Direct was very patient. In fact, the ultimately delivery/installation had to be postponed by two days and at the very end by a few hours. Floors Direct was very patient with these problems. The installers were terrific and, when the time came, had the carpet laid in less than two hours. All and all, I am very pleased with Floors Direct and would recommend the store and its services to everyone.
Description of Work: Purchased, and arranged for installation, outdoor carpet for the lanai. I chose Floors Direct after have less-than-satisfactory encounters with two well-known national home centers.

The rep(s) I worked with we're knowledgable about their product and were able to answer our questions and help us decide what was best for our situation ( even when it was not the more expensive item). The purchase went smoothly and installation went great. The products we purchased were in stock, so we were able to go from purchase to installation in less than a week. Installation is subcontracted by Floors Direct. The subs they sent to us were fantastic. They were quick, professional, courteous, and very good at their jobs.

My salesperson Karen spent plenty of time with me helping me to find the right carpet. I could take samples home to see in place. The carpet needed some lead time - and I required a specific installation date. But I ordered with plenty of time in advance and the carpet was installed on the required date. The installers were professional, quick, and did a nice job of cleaning up. I am very satisfied with this purchase and installation.

Multiple delays occurred and the floor was not begun until we had already moved into our home. During installation the installers had difficulty getting the floor to adhere to the concrete slab, placing heavy glue buckets and various pieces of heavy machinery. Shortly after installation we noticed several places that were still not sticking to the concrete and the kitchen floor had to be removed and replaced due to faulty installation. Within 1 1/2 - 2 years we began to notice darkening areas approx. 6-12 inches from the edge of a large sliding glass door which leads out to our screened porch. At first, we thought it may be sun damage and unfortunately, didn't contact the company until another year had gone by at which time more areas were appearing. Our intent was to see if the company could do something to repair the darkened areas; however, the gentleman who came to inspect the damage told us the moisture content was high and nothing could be done to salvage the floor. He told us that we could have a plumbing leak below the slab. At his suggestion we contacted our homowner's insurance. Our insurance company sent an independent adjusting company to investigate and the findings revealed that the "type and nature of damage to the wood flooring ......... was the result of faulty, inadequate, or defective workmanship.......engineer found that the damage to the planks was caused by moisture transmitted through the porous concrete slab." He went on to state that "The engineered wood flooring manufacturers' recommended procedures for installing engineered wood flooring require the installation of a moisture barrier below the planks." After this report was received, we went back to Floors Direct asking them to replace our flooring at no cost to us. Mr. Todd Beardon, the general manager of Floors Direct, writes beautiful, sincere-sounding letters in which he consistently refuses to acknowledge any wrong doing on his company's part. He has also repeatedly stated that he has attempted to work with us, but we feel his way of working with us is to endeavor to wear us down with requests for repeated meetings, picture taking, false claims of understanding and concern, etc. We have met, had pictures taken, met, had pictures taken, and met, in addition to multiple phone calls and written correspondence. We followed their initial advice, and filed a claim with our homeowners insurance. The insurance claim resulted in an engineering report which was submitted to Floors Direct where it was disregarded and called reckless. Instead of accepting responsibility, Mr. Beardon asked for "proper documents of support for their findings" or a revision of their letter. This is another one of Mr. Beardon's stall tactics. We have lived in this home seven years with the floor being installed shortly after we moved in. We expected the floor to last 15 years at the very least. Instead, we have watched as the floor changes color and has become quite unattractive. Initially we asked Floors Direct to replace our floor at no cost to us. Now, we just want them to refund our money and take out this floor. We have had more than enough of Floors Direct. We cringe whenever their advertisement shows on television and we want to plaster a big sign, "BUYER BEWARE!" Everyone who enters our home asks the same question: "What happened to your floor? Where did you purchase it? Won't they do anything?" We are very happy to answer their questions sincerely. Floors Direct has been in communication with this member since 2009 regarding the issue he has had with his floor. There is no dispute with the fact that the floor was installed in 2005 and performed without issue until 2009 when a discoloration appeared. THIS IS INCORRECT. FLOORS DIRECT HAD TO COME OUT AND REPLACE OUR KITCHEN FLOOR BECAUSE IT WAS BUCKLING DUE TO POOR INSTALLATION. The fact that moisture entering the home caused mold to grow and the mold is what has discolored the floor is also not in dispute. NO ONE HAS DETERMINED IT IS MOLD EXCEPT MR. BEARDON AND HIS ASSOCIATES. He feels that Floors Direct should have sold him a moisture barrier to protect his floor. WE DID NOT SAY WE FELT FLOORS DIRECT SHOULD HAVE SOLD US A MOISTURE BARRIER. WE FEEL WE SHOULD HAVE BEEN OFFERED A MOISTURE BARRIER. WE ALSO FEEL THAT A MOISTURE TEST SHOULD HAVE BEEN DONE PRIOR TO INSTALLATION, BUT MR. BEARDON STATES "THAT WAS NOT AN INDUSTRY STANDARD." Unfortunately a moisture barrier would not have protected this floor from damage because it the moisture entered the home horizontally. THERE IS NO PROOF OF HORIZONTAL MOISTURE INTRUSION. THERE ARE REPORTS FROM MR BEARDON'S "INDEPENDENT INSPECTOR" WHO ALSO WORKS FOR THE COMPANY THAT SUPPLIES THE GLUE TO HIS COMPANY. Floors Direct contracted an independent inspector from WF Taylor Adhesives to do an inspection on the their residence. This is a licensed and accreted inspector who found many ways that the client?s home is not weather-proofed or protected from the weather and/or humidity entering the home. He submitted pictures of unsealed windows, unsealed hurricane shutter brackets THERE WERE NO UNSEALED HURRICANE SHUTTER BRACKETS WHEN THE DAMAGE BEGAN TO APPEAR AS WE DID NOT INSTALL HURRICANE SHUTTERS UNTIL AFTER HURRICANE WILMA. and even a water line on the slab of the home. THE WATER LINE ON THE SLAB WAS PRESENT WHEN WE PURCHASED THE HOME IN 2005! A moisture barrier can only protect a floor from moisture coming up from underneath, not entering from the side. In contrast to this they had their insurance agent come out and they had their own findings which were significantly different and yes we did disagree with their report. I even wrote to them on 7/29/09 asking them to support their findings and conclusions. I got a confirmation from them on 7/30 stating that they received my letter, but it was not until 8/14 that I got a response which said that they could not discuss the findings with anyone but the insured. WE WERE NEVER ADVISED THAT FLOORS DIRECT RECEIVED A REPLY FROM THE INSURANCE COMPANY, JUST THAT THEY HAD FAILED TO RESPOND. Our point is that an insurance adjuster is not a flooring professional. PUHLEEESE! Our inspector is licensed and accredited by the National Wood Flooring Association and his expertise is used to settle cases every day. He found and documented that the member?s floor was affected by moisture entering the home horizontally and therefore a moisture barrier would not have prevented the damage. I have tried repeatedly to explain these facts to the client. His floor performed without incident for over 3 years and then in late 2008 we had an unprecedented rain event and then in early 2009 he contacted us for the first time with a problem. AND WE HAVE REPEATEDLY EXPLAINED TO MR. BEARDON THAT THE "UNPRECEDENTED WATER EVENT" DID NOT AFFECT US. WE NEVER HAD WATER STANDING, WE NEVER HAD DRAINAGE PROBLEMS AND THE DAMAGE HAD BEGUN BEFORE WE REPORTED IT. UNFORTUNATELY, WE BELIEVED IT WAS "SUNBURN" AT THE SLIDING DOORS, BUT WHEN IT BEGAN TO SPREAD INTO AREAS THAT WEREN'T AFFECTED BY DIRECT SUNLIGHT, WE CALLED TO ASK WHAT WE COULD DO TO REPAIR OR REFINISH THE AREAS. We responded right away by inspecting the home ourselves and then getting the independent inspectors to come out. NO, THE FIRST THING THEY DID WAS SUGGEST WE CONTACT OUR HOMEOWNER'S INSURANCE. WOODY TOLD US THAT THE MOISTURE READING WAS VERY HIGH AND THERE WERE NO REPAIRS OR REFINISHING THAT WOULD SAVE OUR FLOOR. Out of sheer customer service . we have offered to help and replace his floor at below our cost, but because the floor and installation are not defective we cannot be held responsible. THEY NEVER OFFERED ANYTHING UNTIL THE INSURANCE REPORT CAME IN AND WE CONTACTED THEM WITH THE RESULTS. We have simply asked that he participate in the replacement and now the floor is over 7 years old. We feel that we have been more than generous with this offer and the Better Business Bureau also found that we had sufficiently tried to work with him. ABSOLUTELY INCORRECT. THE BBB REVIEWED CONSUMER REBUTTAL TO BUSINESS RESPONSE AND STATED THE CONSUMER INDICATED HE DID NOT ACCEPT THE RESPONSE. THERE WAS NO COMMENT ABOUT "SUFFICIENTLY TRYING TO WORK" WITH US. Our offer still stands today as it did back in 2009 to help the client replace their floor, but the original floor and the installation were not defective in any way. Floors Direct is not responsible for horizontal moisture intrusion into the home over 2 years after the installation and a moisture barrier would have simply cost them more money and not prevented the damage that occurred. We understand that the clients don?t want a wood floor that has been damaged by moisture and we have repeatedly offered to help. It is unfortunate that instead of working together to fix this issue they refuse to accept any responsibility for the conditions of their home which allowed the moisture to enter and damage the floor. ACTUALLY, THE ONLY ONE WHO HAS REFUSED TO ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY IS MR. BEARDON. HE HAS REPEATEDLY ASKED FOR AND SET UP APPOINTMENTS WHICH HE THEN HAD TO "RESCHEDULE", SET UP APPOINTMENTS FOR PICTURE TAKING FROM "INDEPENDENT REPRESENTATIVES", WHICH ALWAYS FIND SOMETHING ELSE TO ADD TO THE "FINDINGS", PHONED TO SCHEDULE MEETINGS, AD INFINITEM. WE HAVE BEEN EXTREMELY PATIENT, BUT IT HAS JUST GONE ON TOO LONG WHICH WE TOLD HIM TWO YEARS AGO. ALL WE WANT IS FOR HIM TO TAKE BACK HIS FLOOR AND REFUND US FOR THE COST. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. As everyone can see all of the reports for our 3 locations are excellent. We pride ourselves on customer service and satisfaction. We have also earned an Angie?s List Super Service award. Sincerely, Todd Bearden Floors Direct P.S. THE BBB ADVISED US THAT SINCE OUR COMPLAINT WAS UNRESOLVED, WE COULD ALSO CONTACT CONSUMER AFFAIRS AND THE STATE ATTORNEY GENERAL. WE SUBMITTED A REPORT TO THE FDACS WHO STATED THEY RECEIVED A RESPONSE RE: OUR COMPLAINT AND ASKED IF WE WOULD LIKE TO REFUTE IT. WE HAVEN'T YET.
Description of Work: Our wooden floor was ordered on 4/5/05 and scheduled to be installed before our moving into our newly purchased home. We purchased natural maple wood flooring for living, dining, hall, closets, and bedrooms throughout the 2 bedroom house and a stone patterned laminate flooring for the kitchen. We were going to go with another company, but they were awful. We ended up getting a refund from them. Floors Direct are on Angie’s List. They were excellent, and the contractor guys they sent to do the floor were also excellent. My experience with them was very good. It was better than we had hoped initially. We had 2 houses done, and the price was kind of lumped together and then there was a discount on that. It just depends on the square footage and whatever wood we chose. All those prices vary also. We would use them again in the future.

We worked with Rich Phillips @ Floors Direct. Rich was very patient and accomodating as we went through the process of selecting the type of laminate we wanted. He made the entire experience very comfortable and easy. He worked with us on scheduling so it fit our needs 100%. The crew he assigned to do the installation was led by Ronaldo Tavares. There were four people in the crew, and everyone of them was top notch professional and respectful. I was very comfortable with the crew, and really appreciated how much care they took to do such an excellent job. Best of all, I am very happy with my new floors! Overall the best experience I have had with home rennovation ever!!!

I stopped in the store on a Thursday. The salesman, Richard, was very helpful and I took some samples back to my new home that I had just purchased. Called him that afternoon to tell him I had selected the tile. Someone came the next day to measure.. A week later they came, removed the old tile and laminate floor and installed the new tile. They did a very professional job and I am more then satisfied with the work done. The floors and also the new tile they put up in my guest bathroom looks beautiful.
Description of Work: Removed old tile and laminate floor. Installed new tile.
