Floors Direct

Last year I purchased flooring from Floors Direct. My sales man was Bill Wallace and he sold me 532 sq ft at $12/sq ft totaling $6,800 Last week I went back to Floors Direct to purchase additional 230sqf and 9 stair nose moldings of the same product. Bill quoted me $3800 and told me that there was an increase in cost for the product. I showed two different quotes of the same flooring from competitive retailers and asked him if he can match it or at least come down on price. His reply was very dismissive: “good luck buying your product online... I hope you get what you are paying for.” Well, I’m glad I decided to purchase somewhere else. The product is the same, carries manufacturing warranty, and best of all I saved $856. I was disappointed at the lack of appreciation for a repeat customer, but in reality, I was charged a premium and overpaid by $1470 on my initial purchase. Their motto is “quality flooring at the lowest, bottom line price” I guess not ... Lesson learned.

Very well. Our salesman, Eric, ordered a sample of the wood which had been set aside for our order, so that we could be sure we were satisfied with the color. The installation team was great -- they arrived on time and completed the job in one day -- very pleasant and professional. We love our new floor!

The unit is fully furnished and the installers took care of everything completing the job in 6 working days which included demo, prep work and sub-flooring (cork). The tile work is truly professional as evidenced by the layout and looks beautiful! The job also involved a second sub-contractor to install new baseboard. They were in and out in half a day and also did a beautiful job dealing with existing imperfections and going the extra mile to ensure that everything is aesthetically correct.

Sometimes you find a business that is exceptional. This is one of them. Their company has done three jobs for us, installed tile in an addition, in the main living area and our patio. Bill Wallice was our salesman and provided us with accurate information, great communication and overall professionalism. The install was done by Brazil Best. They were fantastic and wonderful workmen and women. The whole experience of having 1200 feet of tile removed and new installed turns your house into a messy and stressful time. These people made it happen without us worrying about the outcome. Our house looks beautiful and we are so pleased. Thanks to all of the staff.

This job finished all the floors in the house. Floors Direct has done them all, most with laminate and two with carpet. Their price has been good for all the jobs and always in line with the estimate. The installers are the stars of these jobs. Howard Ebarts' crew has done all the installations and has always done a quick, efficient and professional job. - - I rated 'punctuality' down due to the salesman's mistake on scheduling. We expected the crew to show up around 9 - 10 AM but they were sent on another job first and didn't arrive until afternoon.

I went to Floor's Direct showroom to look at carpeting. Clay was the store representative who helped us. He was very helpful. He was not pushy for a sale and let us take our time. I told Clay I would get back to him. He didn't hesitate to let me know if I called he isn't in the store every day. I felt that was important. I went back to the store to check out the carpets again and made my final decision. I upgraded the padding. Clay explained the carpet will be delivered to the store & we can pick the date to have it installed. Clay stated the men who installed the carpets are very professional. When the date came for the installers to come they called ahead of time to let us know the time they would be arriving. They were actually earlier then the scheduled time. The two gentlemen were very professional, neat and courteous. They did an excellent job installing the padding and the carpet. They were so quick. They even had their own vacuum! They helped moved the bed frame, mattress & bureau back into the room. I would recommend Floor's Direct anytime. I'm very happy. Thank You Clay!

This was a great process. Jim Jenkins was very helpful in the showroom and answered all of our questions. The installers did a good job and were very polite and professional. They ripped out the existing carpet/pad and put down the new carpet in one day. The stairs look great! I highly recommend both the flooring company and installers. I would definitely use this team again.

It went excellent. They came in two weeks early and the workers though they did not speak English they did an outstanding job. They were very diligent with clean up and left the house in great order.

I have never been happier with any purchasing experience. From the knowledge and friendliness of my saleman (Ed) to the ...professionalism and experience of the installer (Ruben), on a scale of 1 - 10 with 10 being the best, this entire experience was a 20+. Seriously! Everything that I was told would happen, did happen when they said it would. My salesman Ed was so friendly and the price was excellent. I was not there at the time, and was very concerned about not being able to supervise the job. When I finally saw the floor, I was amazed. It's awesome. The installation is meticulous - excellent job!

Chris was the supervisor that showed up on the first and last day. The rest of the time his crew was here. We had the quote from Bill Wallace, but when Chris showed up he explained there would be an additional $900 cost to us because the builder (DiVosta) had put paper and glue down underneath the tile that was being torn up and it created more work for the contractor. This was very understandable as we saw the work involved. In the end, we called Bill Wallace at Floors Direct and told him the cleanliness of floor was not satisfactory. We are very happy with the installation and Chris and/or his crew are coming back to clean the hard grout off of the tile that was left. The crew worked very hard while they were here.

Two workers came and worked quickly to remove carpet and pad and sweep floor before laying new pad and carpet. We removed a lot of things in bedroom ourselves (and put back) but workeres removed heavy furniture and replaced and vacuumed carpet.

Bill Wallace was the first person I spoke to about flooring when I started looking. Even though I was very clear that I was just starting to gather information and that I didn't expect to buy anything anytime soon, he patiently spent a little over an hour explaining options and considerations I needed to know before making any decisions. Even though it ended up taking me another 2 months or so figure out what I wanted, Floors Direct ended up being the best overall option in terms of options, professionalism, and pricing. Let me say this about installation -- if you're shopping for an installation contractor by price per square foot, you're doing it wrong. Details matter. Ask about glue/nail/float. Ask about the quality of the glue. Ask about whether you need any extras (e.g., sound deadening) to meet HOA/codes. But, having said that, Floors Direct was not only competitive, they were willing to work me a little on the price for not only the flooring (a special-order wood that was on back order) and the installation (because it was a relatively large job). The actual installation was done by Troy Martin and his crew -- absolutely the finest craftsman I've come across in a really long time. These guys did an absolutely fantastic job. Laying a floor in a square room is one thing, but tying multiple rooms together seamlessly so they all meet the hallway and stairs at the right spot is another. It was impressive to see Troy spend the time to "measure twice, cut once" -- and let me add, have it look awesome. Troy himself spent at least 2 1/2 days making sure that the stairs were done to perfection. There is a symmetry and pattern to the transition that you have to look down on the stairs from the hallway to see -- something that only Troy and someone like me (an engineer and ex-military guy) would notice -- but he did it without asking because "it was the right way to do it." I cannot speak highly enough of Troy's work ethic and professional ability. No matter how big/small of a job you have, make sure Troy does the installation. There was an error in the initial materials order (everything that was ordered came in, but not quite enough material were ordered to do the complete installation -- just a simple math error), and Troy spotted it almost immediately. Bill got the special order material delivered quickly and, to make up for the inconvenience, deeply discounted the price (materials that I clearly needed and would have paid full price for had it been ordered earlier). Mistakes happen, but companies like Floors Direct who are willing to "make it right" are sadly all too rare these days. Throughout the entire pre-order, order, installation, and follow-up, Floors Direct set themselves apart as a first-rate operation.

Floors Direct sells all types of flooring and wall tile. They use subcontractors to do installations, but they guarantee their work. I recently moved into a new home, only to discover that the existing carpeting was in terrible condition and smelled like wet dog. I had used Floors Direct to re-carpet my last home and was very satisfied with the price and the quality of the work. I decided to use them again and am pleased with the lush, clean carpet I now have.

We have high quality laminate floors in many rooms of our home and decided to put the same product in one last room. However, our particular style number was no longer being manufactured. When the previous company we had dealt with was unable to help, we went to Floors Direct in Stuart, Florida for assistance. Owner Kent and salesman Chuck did what we consider to be "way over the top" and did an exhaustive search to help locate the last few remaining boxes of this discontinued product. After much effort, they were successful and found enough for our job! To top it off, they kept us informed of their progress every step of the way; a rarity in our experience! I?m certain their profit was not commensurate with the time spent on our behalf! We are very grateful for their extraordinary service! We are completely pleased with the installation, as well.

They measured the room and we asked them to take back one unopened box of wood, at first they refused, however, the manager called and they decided they could take the unopened carton back. I am happy they reconsidered because we have used them many times over the past 8 years and they always took could care of us. We will buy from them them again.

After I complained about a defect in a small area, they sent their installer to redo that piece. The final product was 100% perfect. I am very satisfied.

THEY WERE AWESOME...ON TIME PRECISE CLEAN WORKERS AND PROFESSIONAL

The installer, Ken Freeman, that the company uses to install vinyl, along with his two "helpers", were extremely laxadazy. Show up late in the morning, constant smoke breaks, take forever to do the job, letting Mosquitos infiltrate my house with the in/ out, having the materials get soaked twice (once by rain, the other by sprinklers). It's non stop crap. It is now 6:00 pm as I write this and they still have a bathroom and a master bath to complete. Being told this will continue for another several hours.

Nobody ever called back, nobody ever showed up. They didn’t even give me a courtesy call to say they didn't want the job.

Floors Direct did all that I could have expected, and more. They put me in touch with one of their best installers, who did an onsite assessment of the problem (glued floor rising in several areas), and gave me an estimate of the labor cost. The floor was installed almost eight years ago, and that particular finish is no longer being manufactured by the original supplier. Floors Direct went to some trouble to source a suitable substitute. The cost to them of this product (1/2 inch - non-standard, as I understand it) was much higher than they (or I) expected, but they are currently looking at ways of reducing this. The level of attention I have been receiving from FD staff is exceptional, especially given the relatively small size of the project, and the owner (Kent Copeland) has become personally involved. I am hopeful that there will be a successful outcome shortly.

They were on time. No surprises. cost was exactly what they estimated. The installer was professional and nice to have in our home. When completed it was like the water damage never happened.

We worked with David Rodgers at Floors Direct in Stuart. He was very nice and professional. We were able to take samples home to see which worked best for our house. It was easy to schedule an apppointment to have the rooms measured and get an estimate for the floors and installation. Their installation fee was very reasonable, but decided to install the floors ourselves. After completing the job, I would say the cost to have it professionally installed is worth it if you are looking to get the job completed quickly. When we need to order two extra pieces of molding at the end of the job, David was able to ship it with another order and saved us $50 in shipping costs. The installed laminate looks great and we'd recommend Floors Direct.
