Job went well. They went above and beyond to make sure the job was done right. Doug the estimator made sure that any our concerns were resolved the next day.

This company is essentially messed up my roof and has admitted to the error. They are giving me the run-around with getting the work completed. There is a lot of apologizing, but without the work being completed, I am getting tired of dealing with the company. I have lost an entire weeks worth of vacation time dealing with company because it is now obvious I have to babysit eveything they are doing on my home. He needs to get a full crew out to my home and get this issue taken care of. I am also paying for extra upgrade wind mitigation and the gold package materials. If they had been here this morning, I would have been okay and allowed them to complete the job, but they are not here and I am fed up with this run-around job. I have not paid them in full yet, and do not plan on paying them any more money. I paid a 25% down payment and ABC supply company sent me a notice for a partial relief of lien to get information regarding the amount I have paid this company, so I am sure they haven't paid their supplier yet. I am in contact with my lawyer to what options I have available to me regarding this issue.

Called Gulf coast roofing after an emergency leak in the roof. A gentleman promptly cam out and was able to get the leak stopped and then returned the following day to tarp the roof off until it was replaced. Very prompt service and friendly, professional staff.

I contacted Gulf Coast Roofing during the first part of June, a gentleman came out to the house to provide an estimate on June 7th. We were happy with the estimate and agreed to the price and time frame The roofer indicated that someone would be out the following week to make the repair(s). The week came and went and the skylight was not repaired as agreed. I called the roofer to see if there was a miscommunication, at which time he assured me he would be out the following week. Again, the week came and went and the skylight was still not fixed. To make a long story short this went on for weeks; nobody showed and I was subsequently given an excuse and told, "I'll be out next week". This came to a head when I received an invoice on July 9th; imagine my surprise as I still had an old, busted sky light on the roof. I responded to the email indicating the completion date they had on the invoice was far from accurate and I was still waiting for it to be completed. Someone finally came out a few days later and fixed it on July 10th. If it was going to take a month, just tell me that up front so I could look for a roofer that could have squeezed me in sooner. I didn't appreciate excuse after excuse, week after week, then to get a bill for work that wasn't finished. I gave them an A for quality, it looks nice and it hasn't leaked since.

Gulf Coast Roofing & Inspection Inc. The owner offered various options. They were very professional. They did the work as described and on time. My roof is holding up fine.

Having had bad luck in the past, I was VERY apprehensive about getting a new roof. I picked Gulf Coast Roofing out of Angie's List as they had good recommendations. Galen Lohmeyer showed up within a couple of days for the estimate. Galen was very knowledgeable. Since I had 2 active leaks dripping into the house, Galen had his crew out there in about a week after all the paperwork and permits were pulled. The crew was very professional and friendly. The job looks excellent. I would recommend Gulf Coast Roofing & Inspections, Inc. anytime!

It went good and I was not totally satisfied with them. The reason I had them come out was for insurance purposes. I thought it was a rip off to pay $179 for some pictures. I thought that I would be contacted. I had to contact them and then it took a while to get them out here, because of the big deal they got swamped. I would not use them again. They did get the job done. Once we got things in line with them, it went smooth. I think that they should have called me sooner.

Gulf Coast Roofing & Inspection Inc. was all right. I really didn't know what he did up there. He said that there were some problems and we needed additional repairs that needed to be done. I don't know if he's going to make me a report or he was going to call and give me an estimate on that. I called a couple of times, they never called me back. I couldn't say it was a great experience. They didn't charge me more than what was offered for the big deal.

Lloyd and his assistant arrived on time and were very professional.They replaced a portion of the ridge vent and sealed areas of the roof because it has been leaking for some time. Due to the leaks, the popcorn finish on the garage ceiling is falling off in big chunks, exposing stains on the drywall, so he was able to see where the leaks were occurring. I am to wait until after hurricane season is finishesd and he said he would check it again at that time to determine if there are any additional leaks. I have not been billed at this time so don't know if the cost is more or less than the estimate of $775.

Decided to use another company due to a personal reference. I let Galen know that since his estimate came in at the same price, the only reason I chose the other company was the personal reference. He was very gracious.

Original estimate was $3800. It was the lowest of three estimates due to the fact they were the only one that suggested and showed the roof over the car port was fine and just need repainting instead of replacing. Over a month after the estimate we contacted Gulf Coast to sign a contract. Doug showed up the next day to lay out details and sign the contract, and collect deposit (25%). Waste trailer was delivered the following workday, and due to weather forecast the crew showed up a week later. The work was completed and cleaned in two days. Crew took pictures of condition of old roof and required replacement of areas and sent them to me. The owner allowed us to pay balance by credit card with no additional fee. We are very happy with Gulf Coast Roofing.

We are glad we choose them. Their work has been very good and they are keeping everything cleaned up as they go.

The estimate was spot on, and the contract is very specific, so you know exactly what's covered and what you may end up paying more for. The old decking was bad in a number of areas, and so we ended up needing more than estimated, but the crew documented everything with photos. We had one issue with delivery of a substandard product from the supplier, but Gulf Coast rectified the problem and put all specified, high quality materials on the roof. The roof looks terrific, and has a lifetime GAF warranty! Any issues that arose or questions I had were quickly answered by the company owner, Galen Lohmeyer. He was very professional and courteous, taking time to explain everything.

They were shorthanded all but one day but they did have someone working here (even weekends) until the job was done. Had a leak a month after installation but the company sent out someeto repair it. Roof seems to be doing fine and passed all insurance inspections. They took awhile to get to this job because of the response to their deal. The leak I had after they installed the roof was right after I had my ceilings painted so that had to be redone but that was really the only problem. The company had difficulty getting labor for the job and sometimes would not show up until later in the day. To date the roof seems to be doing well.

Estimate was detailed and made decision to go with Gulf Coast Roofing then when I still expected to do one more estimate. Communications were not as good as I would have liked but we worked thru it. My house is not small, 3BR/2BA, den, large garage, large front porch and back porch - total of about 3000 sq foot of roof and the job was done in 2 days. I like the way it looks and in the couple of rains we have had I have no leaks. I highly reccommend the Wind Mitigation survey that they sell you as for me it made a huge reduction in my Home Owners insurance and resulted in a nice refund as I had just paid the policy. Galen, the owner was very helpful to get me what I needed to feel comfortable with loose ends on the paperwork to make final payment (I never had a roof replaced and had no clue).

Mr. Doug, the estimator was very professional. He explained everything to me of how the work will be done from A to Z, along with samples of material and the cost.

The rough estimate was about $10000 but it went up another $1400 after that. We had three estimates made and his actually started the cheapest. The most expensive was $15000. Their price was reasonable. They were professional and friendly but sometimes it got a little hard to get to them. The roof itself was an excellent job. On the whole it was a good experience. They had a few problems like one time, the dump truck didn't come on time. I feel some of the things that happened were not their fault and it just worked out the wrong way.

Doug came out to give us an estimate early evening to meet my schedule needs. The price I was quoted was much lower than the final cost due to a lot of extras needed to fix my roof. The price was however considerably lower than the other estimates I received and those too would have gone up with the extra work needed. Once agreed upon we were told work would start in approximately 2 weeks. The crew was able to start in just over a week and completed the job in 4 days. Our roof needed considerable amounts of wood replaced, and the installers did a great job, even doing a couple small things that weren't part of the original job.

I have a 99 year old Dutch Colonial which needed a new roof on both the house and detached apartment/garage. Gulf Coast Roofing provided an estimate that was inline with most other companies estimates. The work however was a different story...My house ended up having 3 roofs, 1 on the top and 2 below it. Their guys worked 9 straight days, Sat/Sun included to finish my house. My house needed a lot of wood repair to go along with removing the 3 roofs on the main house so I was not expecting such an effort. Even though this ended up being much more work than expected, Galen, the owner of Gulf Coast Roofing, stuck by his estimate and was very responsive(via email) with any questions I asked along the way. I would not hesitate to use these guys again. Top notch in my book.

We did not have such a good experience with Gulf Coast Roofing & Inspection Inc. What was supposed to take 3 days took 3 weeks. They added a lot to the price. They sent a very small crew. I watched 3 roofs in my neighborhood being done in the time they messed around with my building getting started. There was always an excuse for not being here and not doing it. It took forever. I did have them take a skylight out but they were jacking up the prices even before they saw the skylight. One of the excuses was that they need to get their harnesses as they cannot work up here without harnesses on but I never saw then even once with their harnesses on. It was not a good deal and every thing was a mess. I dug nails out of my pool and there was tar everywhere. We even went away thinking they would finish it but when we came back they weren't done. I would not use them in a heartbeat. I watched other companies do two roofs in no time and it was wonderful. I kept picking myself that I hired Gulf Coast Roofing when I saw someone so wonderful.

They were way over priced and the man acted like he was reading from a card, not very professional

Gulf Coast was one of three roofing companies that I selected for a repair estimate. First they did not show up as scheduled and when I called after waiting 15 minutes, I was told that I was not "penciled" in due to parenting issues. We re-scheduled for the next day-Saturday. Second on Saturday the estimator showed up an hour early(7am) but did wait outside the house. Since I was awake we started the job estimate earlier that planned. He seemed to be experienced, explained the repair process well, and shared many valuable points with me-for which I am grateful. Third after waiting one week I have not received my proposal. I would not use this company as dependability is important to me and my free time is limited as it is. JVM

The finished roof was spectacular, although there were bumps along the way. The initial crew that was sent out was messy, had to ask me for a utility knife because they forgot theirs, and was pulled from the job after most of the old roof had been removed. (I don't know why because I had not complained.) The new man that was sent out had to complete the roof by himself which must have been a really tough job, but he did meticulous work, was neat, professional, and courteous. Because he was alone, the job ended up taking much more time than had been estimated, but since I was not in a hurry, that was fine with me. I just wanted the job done right, without a lot of construction garbage since I have little dogs that use the yard. I am pleased that everything was completed in such a I was pleased to see that the president of the company came out to check on the job partway through completion.

Knowing that mine was a small job that would have to be worked into the schedule, I expected to wait a while for service. They did come out within 30 days to do the inital work. The job site personnel were professional and polite. The owner was responsive to my questions and concerns in a timely manner.

Estimate & Contract: We contacted Gulf Coast Roofing via Angie?s List email and received a response the next day. The onsite estimate was scheduled and the Representative arrived on the scheduled day and on time. After reviewing 3 estimates we decided to go with Gulf Coast, contacted the company and the salesman scheduled an appointment to review the contract, sign and give them the down payment. Salesman arrived on the scheduled day and on time. We contacted the salesman several times throughout the process and he was very responsive and communicated without delay. We were told that the job would be started within 10 working days of signing the contract and that Gulf Coast would contact us the day before they would be on site to begin the job. The company was on site within 10 working days of signing the contract. Day 0: Got call from dumpster company (Rent-A-Dump) that they would be delivering the dumpster within 20 minutes (which they did with very little disruption and they did not block off our entire driveway; I was happy about that). No prior call from Gulf Coast Roofing indicating that they would be on site the next day. Called Office # and left message, then called Representative ? left message. Representative returned the call promptly and agreed to contact Galen Lohmeyer (owner). I received a call from Galen, with apologies, indicating that the crew would be on site the next day. I also got a call (assumed it was the crew chief), at 9:30PM indicating that they would be on site by 8 ? 8:15AM the next day. Day 1: Crew arrived on time and immediately went to work. Materials were delivered, half of roof was torn off, dry in completed and clean-up was done by 1PM. Crew indicated that they would be back at 8AM the next day with the permit (they had pulled the permit but did not have it with them when they started the work on Day 1). Day 2: NO SHOW ? NO CALL. At 10:45AM I left a message on the Office phone. No response from Gulf Coast as of 12 noon; attempted to call cell number and was unable to leave a message because the message box was full. Contacted Representative to explain that we have a partial roof job started and no permit on site; he agreed to contact Galen. Crew chief showed up at 12:23PM with permit and guaranteed that work would be done in time for inspections on Monday (1/28/13). I explained to him that I don?t have a problem with delays that may arise, but that I did expect some communication when that occurred and that I was concerned about the work being done without the permit on site. Galen called just after 1PM to apologize and assure me that the work would be completed as indicated and that he would make sure I was notified should there be any further delays, etc. The crew left about 2:45PM and promised to be back at 8AM. I spoke briefly with the crew chief again and felt much better about the communication concern. Day 3-5: Crew arrived on time and immediately began work. I am impressed with how the crew works; I?ve not observed anyone wasting time or being less productive than everyone else. They start work right away and work consistently to complete the day?s tasks. Issue with invoice: On Feb 12th I received the invoice via email, it was incorrect. I responded the same day but received no corrected invoice nor a call. After a couple of days, and because they start charging interest after 10 days, I sent a check (and supporting documentation) for the correct amount; which has since cleared my account. As of today (2/26) I've still not gotten confirmation from the company that they agreed with the corrected amount other than that they cashed the check. Overall Impression: Other than the issue with communication, we are very happy with the work. I was impressed with the way the crew worked steadily while they were on site. It took a little longer than expected due to a insufficient materials on site, but the delay was minimal and was not disruptive. The true test of the quality of a roof is time, but I?m convinced that the work was done well. We did have a wind mitigation inspection following the completion of the roof and we are happy with the result. It has since rained a few times and no leaks. I would use this company again because of the quality of workmanship and I did recommend them to my daughter. Notes about having a roof replaced (not specifically related to Gulf Coast Roofing): Just so you know, there will be some clean up that you have to do after the job is done. We've found an occasional roofing nail and small pieces of old roofing, but that is to be expected. I have no problem with the clean up job that Gulf Coast did as it's virtually impossible to get every single nail or old roof piece. This is just an FYI, if you've never been through the process. One other thing, it's really noisy - again this is to be expected.
