It took 4 weeks before the service was performed. It was difficult to get in touch with this company.The cost for 30 minutes of work was not worth the price in my opinion.

The last roof was over 25 years old and I had a little sticker shock over the price of a new one. Everything was explained to me in detail and I feel confident that I was not overcharged and paid a fair price.

Lloyd came by on a Monday evening just a couple of days after I called to give an estimate. I found him to be very knowledgeable and gave a fair assessment of our roof. He was prompt and professional.

We have called on Gulf Coast Roofing previously and were always extremely happy with the work performed. This time was no different. Galen Lohmeyer, who heads up the company, was prompt in getting back to me to estimate and schedule the work. The leak was determined to have been caused the piling up of oak leaves and other debris in one section of the roof. Galen's people not only removed the debris, but also reconfigured the barrel tiles such that it would be difficult for the debris to accumulate in that portion of the roof the future. This was simply a great job and the price came in well under the estimate Galen and I had agreed to. We continue to be impressed with Gulf Coast Roofing and everyone who works there!

Using Angie’s List we selected four companies to come out and give us quotes. Gulf Coast was not the least nor the most expensive estimate. We were impressed with his evaluation, products and written estimate. Galen worked with us to meet our set budget and timeline. Our roof is fairly straight forward but is a bit steep with two small flat portions as well. His crew arrived and got right to work. Clean up was continuous throughout the day as the project work was done. Each day before leaving the crew made the area look as nice as could be expected for a work site. Rain was an issue for a day or two, but the crew came out and got as much work done as possible before calling it for safety sake. Checking the attic during the rain...no leaks. They even offered to come out on a Sunday if I wanted to make up time. (I told them that was not necessary, spend time with your family). The roof was done quickly and looks great. The flat areas were a concern for me but not any more. The final cost was a bit more then the estimate due to extra replacement wood and labor but that is to be expected with seventy plus year old home. The wind mitigation inspector came out and gave me a big thumbs up. TS Debby has come and gone...NO PROBLEM!!! Overall I was very impressed from start to finish. Am very please with the work done and the final look of the roof including the roof ridges.Thanks to your crew Galen.

05/15/12 I received a call from the man in charge of placing the dumpster on the property to say he would be by the next day. 05/16/12 Dumpster in place and they start removing the roof in a slight rain. 05/23/12 work was finished and we now were waiting for the city inspector. 05/30/12 told by email that the wind mitigation inspector would be contacting us. 06/01/12 Extremely heavy rains this morning that led to a substantial leak on a hall ceiling near some windows. This was an area that we had experienced problems in the past and had passed that information on to Galen and again to the foreman on the job. 06/02/12 The foreman came by this morning and spent some time on the roof. He told us it was human error and described what the problem was and how he fixed it. Since then we have had more heavy rains and everything has held. 06/06/12 The inspector for the wind mitigation came by, said he would send us and our insurance agent a copy. 06/10/12 By now we had our release of lien, photos to us and our insurance agent and the wind mitigation report. Galen had sent us the information we would need to get the GAF/ELK rebate. An offer was made to fix the ceiling for us, but my husband declined wanting to make sure it was completely dried before it was repaired. I may yet call Gulf Coast if we have a problem fixing the ceiling and I would expect they would respond favorably as they have in the past. I have to give them credit for not making a lot of excuses and simply saying it was human error and would be fixed.

I was not there when most of the work was done. I came on the first day and spoke foreman of the job. He explained how the new roof would be installed. The next time I came by, the roof was done. All the proper paper work was done by them. Maggie federici

After receiving all the participants quotes I went back to each for a BAFO. Gulf Coast was very competitive with their final offer. They were professional and always very prompt in responding to my questions thru out the bidding process. They were very thorough in their quote. I selected another company based on being upgrading on several items while maintaining a slightly lower price.

See above I would recommend the company again.

We chose to have our roof replaced by Gulf Coast Roofing, by recommendation by Angie's List and much research. It was a large project with a lot of peaks and ridges. Galen and his crews were so professional, so nice and took pride in their work and it shows! Our roof looks beautiful, just the right color and quality, it just flows from one area to the next! They are honest, hardworking and easy to work with, very top notch in every way! You will not find better! We highly recommend them.

Good estimate. Job done right away. Received all lien releases.

After purchasing the Big Deal, I called and set up an appointment with Oseola to come to our home. He arrived on time and was very friendly, we were surprised to learn how the roof square footage differs from house square footage, but when you factor in the attached large 2-car garage and all the eaves, it absolutely makes sense. We were over the 2,000 square foot, our house is 1800 sq ft, I think he said our roof was 3000 sq ft. We chose Slate shingles and a white drip edge, we're painting our house gray and the clean white edge makes it "pop" and the slate dimensional shingles are beautiful! Randy was the roofing crew leader and I really can't say enough good things about him and his crew. They arrived on time every day, kept me informed on what they were doing, they didn't leave any of their personal items (ie: cigarette butts or food wrappers) for me to clean up, they weren't loud mouthed or crude, they used tarps to cover my new spa and pavers and they took their time every day before they left to clean-up all job debris. These men were on their hands and knees making sure there were no nails or staples that the magnetic roller missed and Randy let me know when they were finished so I could safely let my dogs in the yard. Randy was so kind and even worked with my screen enclosure contractor who wanted to wait until my roof was finished to install my new lanai roofs, which would've caused leaks and issues. Randy seemed genuinely concerned about the way the lanai roofs were being installed and was adamant on making sure they were perfect. I told him about my old lanai roof issues and didn't want the same thing to happen to me again, thanks to him it wont! He also reminded me and let me know when the peel & stick underlayment was down so I could take a photo to send to my Insurance Company for a possible rebate or discount. If I could clone these guys and have them do all my jobs I would.We had a feeling the entire back of our house needed new plywood (water damage) and it did, with the 2 sheets included we only had to add 4 more and that covered a couple small bad spots in some other places. Overall, 6 sheets of plywood is not bad at all. Randy kept me informed of that as well. The roof measurements were dead accurate because we had just enough shingles, not a single one to spare. It would've been nice to have a few extra but I honestly don't think those shingles are moving come h*** or high water they'll still be there! We definitely recommend Gulf Coast Roofing & Inspection Inc to anyone & everyone!

Mr Lloyd presented me with a great proposal; however, i went with another contractor.

.The work went fine and was finished in a reasonable amount of time. The work began about two weeks after I got approval from my homeowners association.

I called the company and Galen came out and gave me an estimate the same day. The estimate was in line with others I had received so I hired them to do the job. I was out of town when the roofing was being done but Galen kept me up to date on all of the problems he ran into. There was a snafu on the shingle color that I had chosen but Galen made it right and I am happy with the results. He is very good to work with and I recommend this company to anyone needing their roof replaced.

I had an opportunity to meet with Galen a few days ago after having several phone conversations prior to meeting with him in person. He is extremely knowledgeable, experienced, and knows his industry. I saw his advertisement for $6,999 for 2000 sq ft of new shingles/ roofing advertised on Angies. I called him and told him I had a house with 1368 sq. feet of living space and he adjusted his quote to $4100. When he came out and measured off the roof it came out to 2300 sq. ft, much to my surprise. I do now understand the difference between roofing square footage and living square footage. With the new measurements, Gulfcoast Roofing was beyond my budget. His was the third estimate I had received and it was also the highest of the three both in cost and in square footage of the roof measurements. However, even knowing that I would not be able to hire him, he still took the time to look over the other two bids and point out the good points and bad of each with his recommendation of which was providing the best deal. Darn nice of him under the circumstances. I genuinely believe him to be a fair and decent contractor and would hire him in a minute if pricing was not my first consideration.

I do have a very hard time doing business with any company that attracts customers through deceptive and misleading advertising.

Acquired an estimate only from them. They responded to my material change RFQ's promptly, and were well connected with industry sources and procedures. Used another company only due to discovered complications in repairs and timing to achieve a target date. Would recommend them as a worthy source for a fair quote ,though I can't speak to workmanship etc as I didn't use these folks .

Through Angie's List, I purchased a "Big Deal" that offered 51% off of two hours of roof maintenance by Gulf Coast Roofing. Although we originally had a slight problem in scheduling an exact date, I found that Galen Lohmeyer was very responsive whenever I had a question or needed something additionally done. Mr. Lohmeyer always called back within the hour no matter how busy he was (something that is extremely rare these days!).The "Big Deal" was originally offered for roofs with shingles and I had a tile roof. Although it was my fault for signing up for the incorrect service, Mr. Lohmeyer told me not to worry about it and that he would take care of it anyway. He sent out one of his employees (Russell) who did an excellent job caulking the voids in flashing, resealing around all of the vents, and installing squirrel-chewing retardant to all stacks. He even came back a few weeks later when I called about a slight leak and spent an additional two hours in securing the leak. Mr. Lohmeyer did not charge me for this additional service.Overall, I think that anyone would be happy with the services and commitment of Gulf Coast Roofing. His commitment to doing the job right (and even coming back to help out when an additional issue surfaced) is outstanding. Thank you, Mr. Lohmeyer!

It went quite well. Galene came out and inspected the roof. He said the roof looked just fine. Another roofer came out and recommended $500 of repairs. It was refreshing. He also did not think it needed to be replaced in the near future. When it does need to be replaced, I will call Galene.

Excellent, they were prompt, completed the work quickly and left the area very clean. You couldn't tell they were there except for the new roof.

They did everything in one day. They even informed him that he didn't have enough insulation. They installed some insulation for him for no additional charge. They were very helpful and we were pleased with this experience.

I called the owner. He returned my call within 24 hours. He had an estimate to me within 1 or 2 days. The work was done (after the rains had stopped) quickly. Payment was upon completion. I would recommend him.

Galen is the complete professional. He was thorough with his inspection and responded rapidly. I will definitely use his services again.

After calling several other roofers, who didn't even bother to call me back. I called Gulf Coast Roofers. Best call I ever made. My home inspection showed need for some work and Gaylen concurred. Once the weather cooperated he did my work. I will add that this was a Mobile Home. Very Very Satisfied
