They made an appointment and after they didn't come out I chased them for 6 weeks. After asking Angie's List to get involved they attempted to reach out to them and they set up another appointment, however they missed that one as well.

Chad, the technician, was prompt, respectful and did an excellent job. He performed an estimate of service prior to performing work, and reviewed the process of his work. He was efficient with his time, cleaned up after himself, and did an overall electrical check before leaving. I am very pleased and will request him again in the future.

I purchased a special through Angie's List. A word to the wise.... what you are purchasing is unclear at times. This special price was advertised as covering basic work like replacing a ceiling fan. I didn't need a ceiling fan replaced, but instead had 4 small outdoor fixtures I wanted replaced. None even required a ladder. I thought that this kind of work was close to what the ad said would be covered. The gentleman said the charge would be $277.00! That's in addition to the 39.00 I already paid. That quoted price was really only for three of the four fixtures. In short, the only thing special about this "special" were the rates. The contractor admitted that they had run into these "misunderstandings" with Angie's List specials before. I need not wonder why!

Because of a backlog of other work, 3 scheduled appointments had to be cancelled because they ran out of time in the day. The first cancellation occurred without notification, & i had to call the next day to find out what had happened & make another appointment. They remembered to contact me for the other 2 cancellations, but I was not happy with their lack of scheduling foresight. On the final scheduled appointment, they showed up promptly and finished their work in good time.

First of all, they canceled at the last moment and then they couldn't book it for another two weeks. I wasn't happy about that and now when the guy did come I thought their prices were high. To install a fan they were charging $200 and I've seen that so many other places are a lot cheaper, so I would never use them again. They did a nice job but I just thought they were high priced.

I bought an Angie's list deal for $59 that covered the service call and gave a $100 discount off any work ( I think all it really did was pay the service call up front and then applied the $100 discount) I originally had an appointment set for 12/14 between 11AM and 3 PM. I got a call around 1 PM that they would be running late and did not her back. I called them a little before 3 PM and they said it would still be later. Since the majority of the work was to be done outside I reminded them that darkness would be an issue if it was too late. We rescheduled the appointment for 12/30 between 8 AM and 11AM (I asked to be first so I would not get bumped again). Dean showed up by 8:30 AM. Hew was personable and professional. A complimentary panel inspection was done. The estimate for the work was sure sticker shock to me (it had been awhile since I needed an electrician AND I had bought all the fixtures before they arrived) but I signed for the work to be done. All work was done well except for the lamp post. I didn't see the issue until after they left. The non-working photocell (electric light) was removed, but the new photocell was installed in a different spot. That left a 1.5" hole on the post where the old photocell was removed. He covered it with multiple strips of white electric tape that was already peeling off by the time I saw the post a few hours after they left... Looked really tacky. I had told him if there were any issues with the post I had bought a new post with a photocell that could be installed. He did not let me know there would be a hole. It will need to stay covered so the rain cannot get inside the post and the tape will not work long term. I did figure out a long-term solution by buying a 1.5" white rubber sink plug to seal the hole. I have other electrical work to be done so I think I will try a different Angie's List company to see what their prices are. If they are in the same ballpark as this company then I will modify the price score on this review.

After arrival onsite, installer realized that house was served by two panels side by side, he immediately tried to upsell me to a second identical surge protector at 3 times the cost of the first surge protector. Since he was already on site and obviously was not losing money on the first unit I was extremely disappointed with the pricing for the additional surge protector. I let him install one surge protector and went elsewhere for second surge protector. All in all a poor business decision on his part as I had a lot of other electrical work on a remodeling project that went to the second contractor at a later date..The surge protector in the original $89 offer is of middle of the road quality based on several online reviews..

Chad came with his assistant. They tried to solve my issues and did so for our ceiling fan. They were polite, respectful, and very knowledgeable.
Description of Work: Replaced a sensor circuit on ceiling fan in master bedroom, an outlet and switch could not be fixed without going into drywall/stucco etc. We elected not to have those corrected.

The repairs were simple (in some cases just new bulbs), and he also took a light out of a new fixture that I couldn't remove. He made suggestions about what replacement lights to buy. He was very friendly and helpful. I have used Bolt Electric before and find them to be very reliable.

I had a previous appointment, weeks ago and took time off work to get home in time. Received a call from Bolt that the electrician was running late and they would have to reschedule my appointment. The "new" appointment was for 12-24 after 1 pm. I'm at work and receive a call from Bolt (office girl) at 10 am that the electrician is on the way. I reminded her that the appointment was after 1 pm. She was not very nice on the phone. At 12 noon, I am leaving the office on my way home. At about 12:30 (I'm a few blocks from home), I receive a call from Donald, van 104, that he is at my house and has been waiting for 30 minutes and is leaving. I said my appointment was after 1 pm and I was a few block from my home. He said too bad but he was cancelling my appointment. I said you have the ability to cancel on your own, he said yes. I said I was an Angie's List customer and would follow-up with them, he said go ahead. As I'm about to turn into my neighborhood, I see the Bolt Electric van leaving. I make a u-turn and see him at the light. His "helper" smoking in the van and he just look at me. I know they realized I was the customer they just cancelled. I called the answering service and left a message of what happened. I was told they were only the answering service. I see other comments about Bolt and not showing up. My suggestion, find a reputable company that meets the committment for the customer and has respect for the customer who is paying for services. I will now need a refund for the money I paid to Angie's List.

I have refrained from posting my review up to now because it was not a good experience and I would not recommend or use this company again. I actually ordered this for another reason, to hide electrical wiring behind a fireplace, but when the electrician explained how much work it would be and how much it would cost, I did not go forward with the request. That should have been a red flag but instead I asked him about replacing some outlets and installing a GFI in the kitchen. I thought his estimate of 600+ was high but since I do not have experience with electrical work, I went ahead and ordered the work. On the day of the appointment, the electrician showed up really late and then to boot, did not even have what he needed to complete the job. So out he went, I believe to Home Depot, to buy the supplies. Needless to say, I have not really felt inspired to order anything else from Angie's List since that experience. My opinion thus far, and again this is only my personal opinion, the initial deal may sound great but you have to be really careful when you order additional work, that you know the true value of the work being performed or obtain other estimates so that you do not wind up overpaying like I feel I did.

On 12-9-2015 I contacted Bolt Electric to request service and Lisa scheduled an appointment for 12-17 between 11-3. That was a long time to wait but the special offer sounded good so I decided to wait. On 12-17 I called the company around 10 am to ask if they had a clearer picture of when the worker would arrive. Lisa told me she had me down for a window of 1-5 and that it would be closer to the end of that window. She denied having told me that my window was 11-3 but I had written it down right when she told me. Since I was having a dinner party at 6 we re-scheduled for the next day with a window of 1-5. I called around 1 to see when they would be coming because no one had contacted me. The man that answered the phone seemed annoyed that I asked that question and told me that it would be closer to the end of that window. No one arrived and no one called. I have contacted Angies List to ask for my money back from this promotion and have contacted another company to do the work. They scheduled me for 2 business days later for a window of 2 hours.
