It was just fine, He was attentive. He arrived on time. He went about his business in a professional manner. He asked questions. I think that he took care of our needs efficiently, politely. Just in general was a good technician. He even did a few things that were slightly above and beyond.
Description of Work: He spent the time going through different items we had to take care of. There were some electrical wires that needed to be adjusted. there was a doorbell that wasn't connected properly. There were some switches that needed to be removed and changed. There were a lot of things that needed to be analyzed by an official technician.

It didn't go! I contacted the vendor after hours and requested a callback for the next day. It's been a week since I contacted them. I also contacted a 3rd party who sold me a voucher for their services and asked them to see if they could get me a call back. Nothing! How does a company who won't call potential new customers even stay in business?

I was very clear when making the appointment I was to be called 30 minutes prior to the tech's arrival so I could be present at my father's house when they arrived--before any work was done. I received no call from them. My father called me to tell me they were there and already working. When I arrived and asked why I wasn't called the tech blamed it on the office staff. They had already gotten my 89 year old father to sign off on a charge of $299 to label only 22 fuses which took less than two hours. That's more than $150 per hour without doing any actual electrical work. Exactly why I wanted to be present. When I contacted the manager he said their prices were competitive. I feel the price was way too high for the work done and I feel they took advantage of my elderly father.

Bottom line: Bolt is the best! (Last year they replaced my entire electrical panel). This job: Install a transfer switch with an outdoor plug for my generator. I have a well and septic system. No power means no water in or out. Clayton and Wilfredo made the power connections plus added an outside plug for my generator. Now, with one connection to my generator I have water, refrigerator, lights, ceiling fans, WIFI and computer plus electrical outlets.

Dean, Matt and Mike were great and I would definitely hire Bolt Electric again. Dean scoped the job and was an absolute pleasure to deal with. I had other companies scope the project, but part of my decision to go with Bolt is because of Dean. Matt and Mike hung the lights - not an easy job from a 26 ft ceiling. They had to build, tear down and rebuild the scaffolding as they moved around room installing the fixtures. They took precautions not to damage my floors and belongings and when the project was complete no damage was found. What I really appreciated was when after hanging the chandelier at the length I instructed them to hang it at, I didn't like it and asked if it could be rehung. They were already in the process of taking the scaffolding down when I asked them to change the length. Without hesitation and most importantly without attitude they reassembled the scaffolding and rehung the chandelier. I even asked if they could dust the cob webs from the ceiling since there is no way I can ever get to them. Again, done without hesitation or ATTITUDE.
Description of Work: I had a 1 chandelier and 4 pendant lights hung from a 26 ft ceiling and a number of light switches and plugs changed out in my master bathroom.

First electrician didn't set up the outdoor electrical boxes in the flower beds correctly, so we had a lot of shorting out. Another technician came and found some easy fixes...they have worked well ever since. The last two appointments I made with Bolt Electric I was stood up. I will not use them again. I sat home waiting both days - no phone call. One I had to make the call; the second time the scheduler called me after 5:00.
Description of Work: I've actually had Bolt Electric at our house 2 times. 3rd time they didn't show. 1) install outdoor lighting 2) repair outdoor lighting 3) Give estimate for an indoor lighting project

The service did not turn out too well. With the $59 and with the $100 credit, it still cost me $350 to have a single circuit looked at from which they just replaced one circuit breaker. Be that, the price was outrageous.
Description of Work: I purchased a Big Deal for Bolt Electric. It was $59 for an electrical service call and $100 credit for service and more. I had them check one circuit.

That was only fair. They were very high priced. They did the work, I guess, but I was uncomfortable with it. I would do a different contractor. They found something else that they said was a problem and I was hesitant to go ahead. Their responsiveness was okay. I think I probably would have done it differently. I would have gotten several bids and contracted it out. I guess I feel like it wasn't appropriate.
Description of Work: I purchased a big deal for Bolt Electric for landscape lighting design and consultation. They actually did some work for me. They did some landscape lighting work.

Poor service. There is a $15 service fee for "new customers" that was never mentioned when setting up appointment. Tech was nice enough, but charged over $90.00 to remove a battery. Call someone else, anyone else. This company is not honest or fair to customers.

We apologize for any confusion this member may have experienced regarding the charges for their electrical work. The member requested that we disconnect a transformer to her security light. We provided her a quote for the work, which included a 10% discount for being a valued new customer. As per our company policy, the price was provided before any work was done and the customer agreed upon the price and work with a signed invoice before we began the job. There is no $15 service fee for new customers and we do apologize that the member did not understand the charges on her invoice. We do our best to clearly explain all work and the costs associated with our customers. We regret that we did not effectively communicate this with this member. We have attempted to contact the member to better explain her invoice, but have been unsuccessful in our attempts. We hope this offers some clarity to the situation.

Never called back so no service from them.
Description of Work: drilled into a 240V line inside drywall that cut the power to our air conditioning; called on Sunday morning 7/31 at 10:55am; was hung up on twice - finally talked to the call service, they said the on-call tech would call me shortly and they did emergency service and could do that day. At 3:10pm I still had not heard from anyone (gave them both home and cell numbers); called back, they apologized and said that the on-call tech would call me right away, that she would page and have him call me ASAP. Never heard from anyone at Bolt - so finally called another electrician on Monday morning and got same day service. We had used Bolt once before and had good experience but this time we could not get a return call. Writing this on Tuesday - Bolt never contacted me or called back.

The on call staff did attempt to contact the member multiple times that day, with the initial attempt within 30 minutes of the first call to our emergency service, and our office staff again attempted to contact the member when the office reopened on Monday morning. We regret that we were unable to reach the member as we would have been happy to assist the member in their electrical problem. We offer 24/7 emergency service for our customers and we always strive for prompt responses to any emergency requests.
