Backdoor fixture doesn't go on when opening door. Have to go out in grass where I cannot insure there is no coyote or buffo toads before letting 14 year old dog out several times a night. Bought another fixture for replacement but bolt will charge 150 with no discount or goodwill reduction I'm worse off than I was with old fixture. Replaced to have led lights and prevent going on during day but it came on upon opening my door. Front fixture works fine but back door light is critical and i cant afford another 150 after spending 250 for work that took less than 30 minutes fir both installations.

We regret that the member is dissatisfied with the cost of the installation of her motion lights. However, we strongly feel we did the best we could by this member. The member requested a motion light installed, which we did on the same day. The installation was perfect and the fixture worked as it was intended. After the installation the member was unhappy with the settings provided by the fixture. We made multiple trips to the member's property to assist her with adjusting the settings, at no additional charge. Finally, the member decided that she wished the replace the fixture with a different fixture that she liked better. We were happy to provide a new installation for the member, but advised her that there would be a similar cost to replace the fixture. At the time of her appointment the technician quoted her a price for the new installation with a significant discount. Still unsatisfied with the price, the member became enraged and the technician was forced to leave the property immediately. We are very honest and upfront with our customers in all that we do. We provide excellent service for our customers and do our best to leave our customers happy and satisfied. In this case, we feel we did everything we could have short of working for free. We hope this offers some clarity to the situation! Thank you!

I would never hire them again. When the manager was talking to the electrician in my house I asked to speak with her to share my frustration with her and the electrician said "she doesn't want to talk to you now, she already punched out for the day' and this was AFTER I voiced my concerns and she knew I was having problems with her crew. Totally unprofessional!
Description of Work: The first electrician was in over his head on the job... spent an entire day there and then just put everything back to the way it was originally. They cancelled, and rescheduled several appointments even though they lnew I was going to be travelling soon.

We regret that the member is dissatisfied with his interactions with our company. We strive to always provide the best service possible for our customers. The member has a very large and challenging project that took several appointments to complete. The technicians assigned to the project did face some challenges that took longer than expected to overcome. During this process, the member became very hostile towards our staff despite our best efforts to complete the project as agreed upon. During one of these interactions, the on site technician reached out to a manager after business hours. The manager was not on duty, but responded to the call in effort to help resolve the conflict. Unfortunately, the manager was not in a position to communicate effectively with the member, but was able to provide instruction to the on site technician to help resolve the conflict. As we tried to overcome the challenges with the member there was always a very consistent line of communication between the member and all staff assigned to the project, including management. We always try to clearly and effectively communicate any challenges as the arise, as well as address any concerns our customers may have during the course of a project. While we hope that all jobs are completed with no issues and put in our best effort to make that happen, it is not always the case. We do feel that we did the best we could given the challenges we faced by the job and by the member. We hope that this adds a small amount of clarity for the situation, and those of you reading this review will feel open to giving us an opportunity to provide our excellent service. Switch for 2 new lights was cut in wrong place in drywall. Elec line wouldn't drop there. Another hole had to be cut. Covered the first hole with flat plate. LED that was placed in existing light fixture feel out of ceiling that night. Bending beyond repair. Called Bolt and they sent someone out that day to fix and replace. Caulked rim. No charge. Good response. I would have like to see first electricians vacuum steps. He vacuumed the Capet in the room but not the steps. Dust, dirt, and drywall pieces all over. Messy. Howe revere they both were virtuous, explained things and very knowledgeable. Sometimes things just happen.
Description of Work: Need 2 LED place in ceiling over desk. Plus 1 ceiling light replaced with LED

We bought the big deal. Supposedly, we saved $100 and a $49 house call. Installing two outlets cost us a little under $600 WITH the $100 discount. The price was outrageous. They were already here, we had bought the big deal, and we felt we were held hostage. We spoke with other companies afterwords and they said we overpaid tremendously.

Jeremy was polite & friendly, respectful. He explained the problem, solutions, and pricing. Bolt Electric was helpful, professional and gave courtesy phone calls to let me know what time to expect the electrician. -- The problem began when the plumber was going to replace the electric water heater, and the panel "lit up" when he turned off the one circuit. Bolt Electric sent out Jeremy the next evening, and when he inspected the panel, he showed me some previous damage that made the panel a "fire hazard". He spent about 6 hours the next day at the house and finished everything. He showed me all the new equipment inside and outside, and explained what he did, the pricing, and how the new panel's circuit breakers are reset. He did have to return 2 weeks later to clarify some circuit names in the panel per the Electrical Inspector ("Lights" vs "Lights in 2 Bedrooms & Bath"). At which time he replaced the panel's door, which the Inspector had dropped and damaged.
Description of Work: Inspect panel. Replace panel, same amp. Install new surge protector & grounding per code.

Nick did an outstanding job. He was professional, pleasant, great to work with, and went out of his way to please. An area where he took the light down needed paint to touch up, which he gladly did for me. Extremely neat and cleaned the area to perfection. He will be my "go to" electrician in the future.

I paid $49 promotion through Angies list to have an Electrician install a ceiling fan on my condo. I bought my own ceiling fan. After several call to confirm the appointment , Jeremy from Bolt Elec. Co. came , and after an estimate of $ 508 (Which included the $100 discount) told me that he had to go to another job because that was a more urgent call. I find his behavior very unprofessional. How can I have my $49 back ?

We did have a technician arrive at her home during her scheduled appointment window and provided an estimate to install a ceiling fan. Unfortunately, the job was not able to be completed at the same time due to several factors, including an emergency situation at another property where there was a significant fire hazard. The member was offered to schedule an installation date, but wanted the work to be done immediately. We did all that we could to accommodate the members schedule, but unfortunately we were unable to complete the installation on the same day. We value our customer's time and do our best to accommodate any scheduling needs. We regret that we were unable to meet the needs of this member, but we feel strongly that we did our best given the circumstances. We hope this response offers some clarity to the situation.

Very well. As I had been told by an electrician friend who is now retired, he spent too much time replacing Chinese made switches after 6 months. This one failed at about four months.
Description of Work: Repaired a mysterious 3-way ceiling light that had chosen to stay on ONLY when one switch was in the non-existent "middle" position. Also installed a new LED ceiling light fixture to replace an old and very shaky incandescent lamp.

The install was great, the tech was very professional, ontime, asked me for my preferences, quite nice, clean, and friendly. But the prices! There was just a formal pricing sheet and the total was over $800. The sheet was based on each service, and an outlet was over $100. I ended up having the tech do only the boxes in the wall, and I installed the lights and the actual outlets by myself since I'm an engineer. I paid their prices for everything else because I needed the work done when I had them come out and couldn't take more days off work for more quotes/companies.
Description of Work: 2 new outlet boxes, removal of 2 ceiling hanging bathroom light fixtures, and installation of 2 replacement bathroom light fixtures on the wall (changed from hanging to wall mount)

I paid Angie's List $49 for the service call which included $100 credit toward repairs. All other electricians I contacted (outside Angie's List) quoted $89 service call, which included diagnostic. The Bolt electrician arrived and said he could not fix one item (under cabinet light) because the light worked intermittently, but that it would be $298 just to diagnose the remaining two items (receptacle not working and light switch not working). I reminded him about Angie's List and then he said it would be $198 to diagnose since I had the $100 credit in the deal. Any repairs would be extra. I refused and he left. This deal is a scam. I have used Angie's many times over the years to find various competent contractors and repairman. But this so called "deal" for $49 is a big scam. Save yourself some money and find a legitimate repairman yourself! I used to work for the State of Florida investigating scammers. I can not wait for Bolt electric to respond to this...

On for 717 Jeremy from Bolt electric came to my home after an Angie's listing of $39 and $109 credit towards the installation or service work that was done on my home for a pool transformer change out on 4/13 17Jeremy returned to install the transformer. Upon further investigation, I found a pool transformer at a cost of 78.00 dollars. Bolt was charging me 298.66 , and charging me 298.66 to install. Then they were charging me 198.00 for connecting 2 flex connection to ridged piping. Wire was pulled by me to new pool light. Cost was $30.00 max! So total refund to me is $795.32. I have called to discuss my refund, and I paid in cash $800.00 for this work, on 4/26/17, 5/3/17, and today 5/8/17. Was told by office owner was not in. Asked for accounting, was told I had to speak to owner. I informed them I will file claim by Thursday. PLEASE look at this review before hiring Bolt for any work. Check with suppliers on cost of equipment and materials. I am a retired construction superintendent in Virginia, and knows what would know the cost with vehicles, insurance, man hours, labor, job costs. Thanks to Angie's list, maybe this will do the next person house call a bit information. RM

We always provide a complete estimate before any work has begun, and will not begin work until the customer signs their invoice in agreement with work and the provided price. In this case, the member agreed to work and the price, paid in full upfront, and the work was completed to his satisfaction on the agreed date. We later received a phone call from the member who indicated that he no longer agreed to the price because he found a part that he believed to be less expensive than the part our company provided. We offered to refund the difference of the cost of the part, but the member demanded that we refund the total of the completed job. We always strive to perform an excellent and satisfactory job for our customers, and we do believe we have achieved that in this case. Unfortunately, we feel that this member was simply looking to have work done for free. We hope this offers some clarity to the situation and that others will continue to give us the opportunity to provide our excellent service! Thank you!
