I have a warranty company who could not get anyone to come out. I called Bolt and they got out right away and got it done quickly. They did a great job and I would highly recommend them. I would deinitely use them again.

I think the technician was very pleasant, informative, willing to negotiate and flexible.

They sent an electrician out to quote the work. The electrician called me from a blocked number, making my phone reject the call and making it impossible to call him back. When i finally talked to him it was clear he hadn't reviewed the instructions he was given (which included pictures) and quoted me on totally unrelated work. Then he wanted to charge me $300 for a "diagnostic" for a problem that I already understood - and DESCRIBED *in the pictures and instructions that he didn't review*. So this ended up as a complete waste of time. It's possible this is just the fault of this particular electrician and not the company as a whole.

Unfortunately, the damage to the member's property could not be fully evaluated without a complete diagnostic. While we can and do review images and information provided, we are unable to provide accurate and thorough estimates that will reflect Bolt Electric's standards of quality and accuracy without a professional evaluation or diagnostic, when indicated. We strive to be as thorough as possible, and in this case we were unable to provide an accurate estimate based off of photos alone. I have done a lot of wiring, but I was totally stumper. wires show voltage but no fan operation. I had assumed building inspector checks these things.

Badly! Booked the appointment well ahead of time for today and was given a slot of between 10 and 2. Waited and waited, called numerous times, always told we were the next job. Eventually they called back at 2.30 to say the were cancelling! Totally unprofessional and a waste of four and a half hours of my time...

In this instance, our technician was running behind approximately 30 minutes for a scheduled appointment due to traffic. When we notified the member of the delay, he chose to cancel the appointment. We value our customer's time and if a rare instance occurs that causes a delay in our arrival then we always seek to inform our customers as quickly as possible to avoid as much inconvenience as possible. The outlet that was installed behind the flat screen tv was accidentally (without my knowledge or request) connected to a light switch. This error was not discovered immediately and only after extended periods of cable and television issues did I learn about it. Meanwhile the accent lights were connected to the same switch as all of the existing adjacent ceiling lights (although the electrician and I specifically discussed the need to be able to control them separately for the purpose of "accentuating" the art without the spotlights being diffused by the existing ceiling lights. In my rush to leave town for a scheduled trip, I didn't double check the work but when I returned, I contacted the company and explained the problems. The original electrician was no longer employed by Bolt but multiple others came to my home, acknowledged the issues and agreed to make them "right". I was also told there would be no additional charge to fix these errors. They couldn't figure out how to properly disconnect the light switch from the tv so I agreed they could tie off the wires behind switch plate and essentially make a "dummy switch". With the tv issue "fixed the best they could" and with the commitment made to now fix the accent light problem, I moved forward with the installation of the fans and was rightfully charged a fair amount for this "incremental" work. But once I paid for the fan installation I was told that the accent light issue would not be corrected... unless I paid additional money and the once-friendly work team just walked away. They told me the owner would call but he didn't. I left multiple messages and finally was told that the owner (Patrick) was aware of my issue but had stated that I received accent lights according to their documents and he would not be calling me back. The company denied that I had any conversation about separate switches for the accent lights (even though its own electricians agreed the work was done improperly) and pretty much told me to pound sand. It would have been nice (not to mention appropriate) for the owner to at least return my call. I won't do business with Bolt again.
Description of Work: Initially I needed an outlet installed on a wall behind my flat screen tv. This would enable me to hide the cable box and wires to create a finished look. I was quoted a price which was fair and we agreed work would proceed. In addition, after observing some of the art in my home the technician suggested I consider installing "accent" spotlights above the artwork (something I had actually been considering) and, after discussing the price for this additional work, I agreed and was told that he happened to have the lights in his vehicle so he could install them on this same day. During our pre-work discussion I also inquired about whether the technician could return to install ceiling fans that I planned to order. He said that he could.

The member did not want to pay any additional charges to correct the problems. Our team performed their best to provide a satisfactory solution for the member without additional charges. Unfortunatey, we were unable to satisfy the member without providing free work. We are a very experienced and professional electrical company providing quality work for our customers and, as evidenced by our 2000+ "A" reviews on Angie's list, we do succeed in this goal. Terrible. Company took advantage of my wife financially, since I was not there to review at end of minor repair. Electrician connected (with four wire nuts) two ceiling fans and charged over $700 taking the Angies List discount into effect. Told my wife, that three other fans were bad and needed replacing. He said he would come back and replace for an additional $500 plus. I was able to connect the three fans myself and get fixed in 30 minutes, the next day. I sent videos of the repaired fans and a detailed email to Bolt for review on the excessive charge and false claims. Received one call back and not followup, despite several calls to the company and emails. Never use this company. They are crooks.
Description of Work: Provided a list of nine items to fix. One fixed and charged almost $700. No acceptable response to the excessive charge, charged to my wife.

We have done extensive research to make sure our prices are correct and competitive. We are very upfront with out pricing. All estimates are supplied and contracts are signed before any work begins. In this instance, our technician peformed several tasks over the course of nearly 4 hours. The job was completed as agreed to the customers satisfaction. Unfortunately, we cannot provide repairs to the mechinisms of ceiling fans, as was explained to the member multiple times. We did offer to replace fans that were not working, but the member opted to make the repairs himself. Our company is licensed, insured, bonded and we are the highest rated company on Angie's List by a large margin. We are very confident that we are fair in all of our doings with our customers and we strive to provide a perfect service experience every time.

I needed four things repaired. The electrician gave me a price for all of them and said he would not charge me for fixing the lose plug in the master bath. This meant it did not get put on the work order. After I agreed to the price, he got a call requesting his services immediately. So, he rescheduled the work four days latter. He showed up and repaired all but the one item he was not going to charge me for. I feel taken advantage of and lied to.

They were on time, professional and friendly. They didn't try to push things on me or upsell anything. They actually inspected all the electrical in the house to make sure it was in good shape, great attention to detail. They even installed a whole home surge protector.

Horribly unprofessional. THREE times I have scheduled them to come out and they confirmed. After they were late each time, I had to call them and they said "you are still on the schedule" explaining that they were running late. Three times they failed to show up at all without calling, and rescheduled. Do you want to sit around the house waiting for somebody who fails to show up after making appointments?? Unbelievably irresponsible. Not someone I want working on my electric. Ever. I had an "Angie's deal" but Bolt delayed so long, that now Angie's List will not return payment. I asked for a refund from Angie's list, but they refused; I asked one from Bolt, and they said I had to get it from Angie's List.
