Scott is definitely the plumber you should call! When I called he asked if I needed service immediately. I told him the problem wasn't urgent and he came by early the next afternoon. He was pleasant and thorough. The best part is the affordable, reasonable pricing. Four years ago I had a different Angie's List A rated plumbing company at my home to fix the same problem, They charged more than three times the price and didn't clear both stacks. I will call Scott again and am delighted to have found a plumber I can rely on.
Description of Work: Snaked the stacks above the kitchen and the laundry room to clear the drains. Ran 60 feet of cable twice in each stack.

I have used Mr. Scott before and was very satisfied with his work. In this case he responded quickly to my request for assistance and made a thorough diagnosis of the problem with our water heater. He determined that one of the heating elements was bad and replaced it. He showed me the element and explained why it went bad. He quickly replaced the element and drained the heater. It looked like someone put a load of sand in my water heater. I was very satisfied with his work, integrity, and pricing and would recommend him to anyone with a plumbing problem.
Description of Work: My water heater was not working and so I contacted Scott's plumbing. Mr. Scott came out and determined that one of the heating elements needed replacing. He showed me the element and explained why it failed.

I called Scott at 4:30 on a Monday evening when I noticed the water leak outside my house. Scott was not available but returned me call within 10 minutes. He said that if I could turn off the water at the meter and turn it back on for showers, etc, he could be at my home to fix the problem by noon the next day. I did not ask him to come immediately, since this was a manageable problem. He called me on my cell the next day at about 11:30AM to tell me he is on the way to my home. I asked if someone needed to be there. He said no, but would call me if he ran into any problems. When I arrived home that afternoon, the problem was fixed, the invoice and section of removed pipe were on my front porch. I mailed him a check. He did exactly what he said he would do. This is all I ask of any professional repair person or contractor.
Description of Work: Scott located water leak in main line between the water meter and the house. He removed a section of copper pipe (with an obvious hole in it) and replaced it with a new section of pipe.

I found Scott DeRosa on Angies list -- after evicting a renter from my North Redington Beach, FL home witch had been totally neglected by the dead beat renter... Scott fixed all the items on my list and made sure my water meter only moved when "I" used water, and replaced toilet parts, new shower valve, and new hose bib........He was there for about 5 hours..
Description of Work: toilets (3) running, water bills too high, leaking shower valve, outside hose bib in wrong spot, tub knobs not working....

Everything was very professional. Scott Introduced himself, and the first thing to impress me was the fact that he stopped to put on foot-covers over his shoes, (so he wouldn't track up the carpet). Then he looked at the prospective job and immediately started explaining where the problems were and what was necessary. (When he walked into the bathroom to begin on one toilet at a time, the second thing to impress me was his neatness; he removed the throw rug, folded it, placed it in the hall, then removed the facial tissues and candle from back of the toilet and placed them in hall... THEN after-- he put everthing back! nice, neatly, orderly, and in the right PLACE. Scott was very patient in dealing with any questions I had regarding the work and even gave opinions on some future plans I have for my bathroom). In the first bathroom, after analyzing the situation and doing explanations, as Scott prepared to begin to drain the water from the tank, he bent to turn off the water to that toilet, he then noticed there was no water shut off valve for that toilet. He told me he could install one for me and showed me where. He then had to go outside to the county valves and shut off the water that leads to the house. (This intailed removing and repositioning his foot-covers going in and out of the house). Scott then replaced the flush fill valve, put in a new flapper and installed a shut off valve with braided stainless line on the first toilet. On the second toilet, the flush fill valve was sitting at a low awkward angle ( it had been installed just 6 mos. ago by another co. and seemed not to flush properly since). Scott adjusted the flow valve a few times until it seemed to be just right, flushing each time to see if it would flush properly, he also put a new on flapper and adjusted it, then flushed the toilet a few time with a bit of toilet paper in the bowl to make sure it would flush. He then checked the bowl water level - I seem to still leak water. He said there could be string or some thing hanging on in the bend causing a syphon of sorts, so he ran an auger snake down the toilet bowl twice but everything seemed fine. He said I could get the toilet taken up and the seal checked at a later date, but if I was planning to replace the toilet at anytime soon, it wouldn't be worth doing now. I asked about those camera "snakes" that I've heard about to check plumbing lines and he said they are expensive. But so far, the toilet flushes well, and doesn't lose as much water as before (only about 1 to 1/1" ), considering it's over 30 years old I can't complain. Scott will probably be the one I call when I do replace it. Keep up the good work!
Description of Work: I had two toilets causing problems at the same time; one ran constantly at the flush-fill valve and the other had two separate problems - 1. not always flushing when the handle was activated, and - 2. losing 2" or so of water from the bowl within 30 seconds of filling. I called Scott's Plumbing mid-morning to schedule an appointment and the gentleman said he could make it later that afternoon, maybe in 3 - 3 1/2 hrs as he had 2 jobs lined up. Before I knew it, he was knocking at the door, earlier than expected, so I was glad about that. After checking out the situation in both bathrooms, Scott (the owner) explained in detail the problems and the work he recommended: The flush fill valve in one toilet needed replaced, the flush fill valve in the other toilet might need only adjusted instead of replaced ("we'll see" after adjusting), the one toilet didn't have a shut off valve (for the water inflow supply), which is supposed to be installed near the outside of the toilet and when my new toilet was installed, the plumber didn't put one in, so one needed to be installed for quick shut off of water to the toilet in emergency situations. And he would run a snake down through the toilet bowl drain to see if he could locate any problems that were treatable quickly and inexpensively for the water leaking from the bowl. I also wanted some valves under my one sink adjusted ( I had been told by another plumbing company last year that they couldn't be adjusted, they needed to be replaced- they were too old ). I had Scott do all the work explained.

His work was fast, neat, and professional. He had to cut the back of our cabinets to install the new faucets (old ones were original to the home). He adjusted our shower-head to allow for more pressure. His work was good albeit a little higher cost than expected.
Description of Work: Scott came early to change our faucets in our master bathroom (2) and change faucet in our children's bathroom (1) and check a leaking (divert) shower/faucet that was losing pressure/leaking water.

Scott came out and "researched" the problem. He fixed the shower knob by putting in a new mechanism. He used the manufactures (Moen) part, not a after market piece. He chalked the glass shower door to stop the leak. He also showed me that my toilet did not have a bolt on one side and the wrong one on the other. So, he fixed that and put a new mechanism in the toilet so it would not run constantly. He left the area so clean you would never have know he was there.
Description of Work: I had a shower where the water some how leaked outside and destroyed the wall board plus the shower control knob stopped working. The toilet would at times run without stopping.
