Description of Work: We had our tank backing up into the house they cleared the tank gave us some tips shut up as we needed them even though every septic tank company was backlog and did a great job when they said they would.

 + -1 moreWhitt's did not service Lakeland but referred me to Quality Pumping, Inc.,who came out the same day and located the tank and pumped it out. The job took 2 hours and they charged exactly what they estimated on the phone. This was my first experience in a new home with my first septic tank, and I was very pleased.

 + -1 moreWhitt's Septic was highly recommended by one of my neighbors, and they lived up to their recommendation. The owner was prompt and professional from the estimate to the end of the project and was on-site for all of the work. They replaced the drain field, made an extra effort to make sure it was covered in time for the weekend, and did a nice job of raking up the debris (rocks, roots, etc.) that was turned up. I did not have any problems with them, and was very happy with their service.

They were early for the scheduled appointment, and the cost was actually $10 cheaper than I anticipated. He even gave me some advice on something I could do to avoid having to call him again in the future.

 + -1 moreOur septic tank was full and the drain field was not working. The owner was to come out and look at the problem and give me an estimate. We have never seen nor heard from him. I asked that they send the truck to pump out the tank. He came the next day but said he did not have enough hose (required 120 feet.) He said he would get more hose and return the next day. He called the next day to say his truck had broken down. We did not hear from him the next day. The office said he called several times but got no answer. We were home all day. If he called he did not leave a message. Since we were desperate, they referred us to another company. We called another company who was here within a half hour and got the job done. The owner still has not called to give us and estimate.
Description of Work: Pump out a septic tank ($200). Give us an estimate on repairing the drain field. The owner has never called or come out. Other estimates for the job are around $3500.

 + -1 moreThe man arrived 30 minutes before the scheduled time (which was okay). He did a great job. We had not had a pump out for 9 years. He was very thorough and explained everything as he did it. He was very knowledgeable about septic systems (which, being a city boy, I am not). I was thoroughly satisfied, and know a lot more about septic systems now. I would definitely use this company again. Cost: $190.00 -- very good value.

 + -1 moreGARY WHITT IS FROM THE OLD SCHOOL. HE DOES EXCELLENT WORK AND IS PRICED MODESTLY. OVER THE YEARS WHITT HAS PUMPED OUT OUR SEPTIC FOR $165 AND NOW HE'S DONE THIS MAJOR JOB FOR US. GARY ALSO SHOWED US A FEW YEARS AGO THAT THE PREVIOUS COMPANY I USED NEVER TOOK OFF THE SEPTIC TANK COVER, BUT DRAINED WHAT THEY COULD FROM THE OUTFLOW PIPE. IT WAS OBVIOUS BECAUSE 2 PVC PIPES FOR OUR SPRINKLERS RAN RIGHT OVER THE COVER AND HAD TO BE CUT AND REROUTED TO GET TO THE TANK. WE ARE FOREVER GRATEFUL TO HIM FOR THAT.

THE PRICE I ENTERED ABOVE, INCLUDED A SENIOR'S DISCOUNT - THE PRICE QUOTED FOR PUMPING A NORMAL TANK WAS $200.00. THEY'RE RESPONSIVE, PUNCTUAL, RESPONSIBLE, PROFESSIONAL, RELIABLE, POLITE, HIGH QUALITY AND REASONABLY PRICED - AND THEY'RE GOOD FOLKS TO KNOW. I'LL USE THEM AGAIN - - IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM, YOU SHOULD GIVE THEM A CALL. NOTE: ONE MIGHT WONDER WHY IT TOOK ME FROM 06/07/05 'TIL TODAY TO REPORT MY EXPERIENCE WITH WHITT'S. Description of Work: DRIVER/TANK SERVICE TECHNICIAN ''ROBERT'' WITH 16 YEARS EXPERIENCE BACKING HIM, ARRIVED ON TIME TUESDAY (06/07/05) & DID SOMETHING NO OTHER COMPANY HAS DONE IN THE SEVERAL TIMES WE'VE HAD OUR TANK SERVICED SINCE MOVING HERE OVER 30 YEARS AGO. HE DID NOT DRIVE HIS TRUCK OVER THE YARD TO GET TO THE TANK BESIDE THE HOUSE, BUT POSITIONED HIS TRUCK IN THE DRIVEWAY ON THE OTHER SIDE OF OUR HOUSE, & USED ALL OF HIS DRAIN HOSE TO REACH THE TANK. HE FOUND THE TANK, DUG TO THE COVER, REMOVED IT, PLACED HIS DRAIN HOSE INTO THE SOLID SLUDGE AND PUMPED THE TANK CLEAN - FLUSHING WITH WATER. AFTER A COUPLE OF TEST FLUSHES TO CHECK THE LINE FROM THE HOUSE, HE SHOWED ME A TRICK: WHEN REPLACING THE COVER, HE PUT ONE OF OUR BLACK PLASTIC BAGS BETWEEN IT & THE TANK TO PREVENT DIRT & ROOTS FROM ENTERING THE TANK, THEN METICULOUSLY REAPPLIED THE SOIL.
