Description of Work: They pressured me into buying a 2 year maintenance contract, which cost over $500. It caused me not to have money to pick up my prescriptions and buy groceries.

Description of Work: Performed a full & thorough Maintenance of my unit. The technician was informative and gave me many suggestions and recommendations...we'll consider them and have purchased a Preventative Maintenance Agreement. Great work by an honest company!!! I did my research before I had them out and can honestly say I completely disagree with every negative thing I have both read or heard. They are top notch and will be my only service company for AC maintenance and repair.

Description of Work: Installed new duct work and cleaned duct system in my manufactured home BEWARE BEWARE... and get other estimates if considering Custom Climate Concepts Heating and Cooling (CCC) of Sarasota, Fl CCC bought the company that had installed my new A/C in 3/2012 .CCC performed initial maintenance on 11/2012 and no issues. The second maintenance was scheduled on 4/3/13. Several issues appeared at this time:The duct work under my manufactured home was too small, requiring the new A/C unit to overwork, and a second U/V light was needed. I was told that the installer of my A/C had neglected to change the duct work and improperly installed the U/V light. Also there was mold in the system.. The service specialist, Scott Rupert, and co-owner of CCC, then told me that my A/C unit would fail in "one week" or "one month" but certainly "would not make it through the summer" when I would be away. I was told that if the ductwork was not done and the A/C failed, the warranty on the system would not be honored. Mr. Rupert gave me an invoice that said that guarantees on my system are good only if Scott Rupert services the system. He told me that the work to replace the air ducts under my manufactured home and clean the existing ducts would take two days at a cost of $8,718.00. The total payment was due on completion. I feared losing my new A/C and my home to mold. Within an hour after I signed , two men arrived to do the work. It took them less than four hours to complete the installation and cleaning. On 4/5/13 I contacted the Venice Chamber of Commerce and was given the names of three reputable, like/kind heating and cooling companies in the area. With the itemized invoice from Custom Climate Concepts, I was able to get estimates from these three companies for the work that was completed on my home. CCC charged $5,954 for duct replacement and cleaning A/C unit. Like/Kind estimates: $1590 - $2,200 CCC charged $1,275 to clean the existing ducts with a roto-brush cleaning machine. Like/kind estimates: $100 - $150 **I was also told that a second Ultra-Violet light, recommended by CCC, WAS NOT NEEDED!! CCC charged $1,489 to install a second U/V light that was not needed.

Description of Work: CAREFUL!!! Get a second opinion before you sign on to have these guys do your work! CHECK OUT THEIR BBB RATING!!! These folks installed a new a/c in my 84 yr old mother's tiny condo about 3-4 years ago. Since then, she has been receiving semi-annual checkups from them. During recent visit, tech claimed the air handler was drawing too many amps. His solution was to completely replace the duct work in the attic and blow in more insulation. To the tune of $8,600!!! To save money on her (already small) $50.00 monthly electric bill. I don' t know what came over her, but she signed the contract and they went to work within the hour. 2 guys, 8 hrs each. Was this work necessary? Unfortunately, she was sucked in and never got a second opinion.
