Aqua Plumbing & Air

Our first call to Aqua was for the AC system not cooling any part of the 3 zone house properly. They determined that our AC unit needed additional Puron and that the system was leaking and recommended it be replaced for ~$14,000. I paid their bill, but then hired another AC firm who correctly diagnosed and repaired the system at a total cost of $749. Nearly a year later and the system has been running without a hitch. On a 2nd call to Aqua re: one zone not operating properly, they diagnosed a zone damper had a stuck solenoid and it cost $193 for them to unstick it. Two weeks later, the same problem occurred and this time they charged $159 to repair "a sagging main line". A third time, it happened again and air flow stopped completely. The "repairman" they sent out did absolutely nothing to remedy the problem except to charge me again. Another repairman was dispatched a day later and finally a new damper unit was installed. So in total I paid Aqua ~ $600 for a new damper that should have been done on the first call for half that amount. Mistakes do happen but what upset me most is that their Customer Service dept insisted that I pay them for the repairman who did nothing to alleviate a problem that they had ample opportunity to correct. The least he could have done was to manually operate the solenoid actuator to open the damper and then pin it there.

The service was performed while we were not home. We assume it went fine.

They were on the list of certified backflow testers from Sarasota County. We selected them because they were on Angie's list and while they had some bad reviews, they had many good ones. Justin came out on 2/2/16 to perform the test and didn't because the bushes were in the way. He "failed" us! This is the first year we are in this home and didn't even know where the device was or we would have realized there was an issue and made sure the bushes were trimmed. He charged $39 and told us to call back when the bushes were trimmed. I trimmed the bushes and called back the following day and was told there would be another $35 charge for him to come back and do the test. Really? So we were charged $39 for him to tell us to trim our bushes? Why would we hire them and pay them another $35? I would start with someone new at this point and give them my money. In addition I found out our neighborhood is looking to get quotes for someone to come in and do all 70+ homes at once. I'm going to tell them what happened so they know when they put together the list of who to get quotes from. This is not the way to do business and expect someone to call you back annually. We would think since we paid the full fee for the service and it was not performed, they would fit us in on another day when they had another appointment nearby. They are located VERY close to us. We were actually interested in this company because they also do HVAC and we know we'll need someone for that too. I even private messaged them on Angie's list to give them a chance to reconsider this second charge before posting this review. That was four days ago and I received no response.

I have used this company 2 time in the last week. I just have to say all the A ratings are for real. The first time was for a hot water tank issue. we started out our day talking with another company (CT) who tried to clean out our bank account selling us stuff; I promptly walked him to the door! Then I looked on Angie's List and found Aqua and read their reviews. Aqua have a tech at my door with in a couple of hours. The Tech actually trouble shot the problem gave us all our options. We chose not to fix an old water heater, we chose not to put in another water hear; we to upgraded our system to a tank-less water heating system. Let me just say the other company (CT) wanted to charge us $536.00 to install a part that I could buy $75.00 and wanted to charge us $5035.00 for a tank-less system.... Aqua's price was much more in line with reality of what it should cost. To replace the bad parts $200.00 installed and their price to put in a tank-less was under 3K. I also received rebates on top these prices saving me even more money. The reps Nate and Brian were proficient, professional, courteous and honest. The water heater was easy to replace with the new system and completed it in a few hours. The air conditioner was repaired in about an hour. Neither of the technicians try to sell me on other products or try to replace my old air conditioner; they actually gave me a lot of advice on what I could do to help my systems last longer and both saved me money in the long run. Thank you Nate and Brian it was a pleasure doing business with you and Aqua.

Excellent customer service. We purchased a home that unbeknownst to us had some plumbing issues. Two technicians, Fred and Justin, came out on separate occasions and did a great job explaining the issues and remedying the problems. Will definitely use Aqua again if necessary.

Had a shabby pipe feeding a toilet shut off valve start leaking and couldn't repair properly ourselves. Tried soldering but too tight and area for us to work in and being it's Sunday called several 24/hr services. After being told it would be several hours or more, maybe later if schedule frees up, and not until Monday, it was great to get a call back from Troy saying he could be here in 20 minutes. Arrived quickly and handled the situation efficiently and professionally. Very good service and respectful, wearing protective shoe covers the whole time and cleaning up when done. Was in and out in quick and repairs were perfect. Very pleasant to work with and will definitely call again rather than attempting the "do it yourself" route with plumbing. It went great. The service adviser arrived on time, even called before arriving to anounce he "was on his way". Matt was very professional, knew what he was talking about and did not try to sell me equipment that I did not need. I had gone through this process in the past and had used Aqua. . . but was I experiment I had also called two other companies. One tried to sell me things I did not need and did not carry "brand" name equipment. The second company's technician, showed up, looked around for about five minutes, told me what I needed and what it would cost. I do not think he had a clue. Aqua was here on Wednesday morning, wrote the proposal. I ageed to the terms. That afternoon I received a call from their office advising that the technicians would be at my house the next a. m. Next morning, bright and early, they arrived at my house. Spent about four hours changing out the equipment. Very professional, clean and courtesy young men. Could not be happier with the response and service I received from Aqua.

It went great. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone. I got quotes from several companies and they made me feel the most comfortable and like they would get the job done right the first time. I also used them for a plumbing job and they did it right the first time. They're really a great company.

The plumber fixed the shower control valve. The shower leaked after it was turned off. After checking the valve for broken parts he said it may need to be replaced. He checked the valve a second time and discovered some roughness in it that may be keeping the gaskets (o-rings) from sealing. He sanded the rough areas, reassembled the valve and tested it. No leaks. A week later, still no leaks! His attention to detail saved us the cost of replacing the entire valve along with a hole in the shower wall and a large repair bill. The sink drain was your typical hair in the drain. The commode needed a new flapper. They pushed back the appointment time the day of service due to an emergency. This is not a big deal to me as someones house flooding or other major event is more critical. Personally, I like the thought that if my house had a critical plumbing issue they would push me up in the priority list. My only issue was, when they called to reschedule the person was vague about when they would show up at my home. Each time I confirmed the time they would say no and push it back another hour. A little frustrating but typical of scheduling. They finally gave me a time range of three hours and the plumber showed up at the start of hour 2. I was happy with that. Overall, I was very pleased with the service.

This was our third or fourth experience with Aqua and I have found them to be punctual, professional and just plain nice people. We are preparing to replace the AC system and expand the ductwork into an additional room behind the garage.

We had copper pipes that were starting to get pin-hole leaks, so we asked for bids from Wyman Plumbing and Aqua Plumbing. We had read about CPVC getting brittle in hot attics and were afraid to have a major leak in our attic since our ceilings are genuine plaster. PEX has a much longer life if kept from rodents and the sun. Because most of the plumbing was under insulation and out of the sun we chose PEX. Wyman would have been our first choice as they actually did the original copper 56 years ago, but they did not do PEX. Aqua did and their men have been trained and certified in the use of PEX so we went with them. Two plumbers arrived from Aqua and did the job in three days. I would recommend buying them lunch if you have them do it as it certainly lifted their spirits. :) They did a very professional job and very quick. You could tell that we weren't their first residential re-piping! We gave them access to both the attic and to every indoor and outdoor fixture. Our walls are also plaster so piping was brought down the wall and neatly brought in at the right location to install new cut-off valves. They also use stainless steel connection pipes to all toilet and sink fixtures. The garage shower was redone and looks as nice (if not better) than the showers in the house. The fixtures for the showers in the house were MOEN CHATEAU style. The PEX pipe was AquaPEX and information on that can be found at http://www.supplyhouse.com/AquaPEX-Tubing-517000 This brand of PEX Tubing is manufactured by Uponor Wirsbo. Wirsbo Aquapex is more commonly used for PEX Plumbing applications. Aquapex meets ASTM F876 and F877, and is certified to NSF standards 14 and 61. It is rated by the PPI : 200°F at 80 psi, 180°F at 100 psi, and 73.4°F at 160 psi. Aquapex Tubing comes in white, red, and blue. The tubing is exactly the same just color coated for installation purposes (hot and cold lines). Overall the job was done very professionally and we would recommend Aqua Plumbing.

One Friday morning I woke up sweating because the capacitor failed and I checked out the provider on Angie's List and picked Agua. Then my mother-in-law passed away and the dishwasher installer didn't show, and the telephone operator couldn't get us serviced until 7 hours later. Then later that day the clothes washer repair provider walked in told us the washer was not worth fixing and, "That will be $65!!!" but, The 1st Aqua-provider arrived on time and got us cooling again a few hours after dark.and we slept good. However the next morning I woke up freezing because the contacter failed to open and the A/C had been running all night long. the 2nd replaced the contactor, and cut me a break on the service call because the 1st didn't check for other defective parts. I was happy with the professionalism and confidence in their installation of the parts. I also bought the service agreement for one year.

They have met all my expectations.

They were professional. There was supposed to be follow up to for insurance, and he said he would do it, but he never did. I ended up having to do something else because time was a crunch. I followed up with him several times, but he never did it.

I was very satisfied with services. The technician Greg was polite, answered all questions and cleaned the area when job was complete. I plan to request same technician when services are needed in the future. Using the coupon on Angie's list made the service a deal and having the hot water tank flushed made a big difference in my water. I would recommend Aqua Quality Plumbing and I would recommend having your hot water task flushed.

Aqua plumbing did a great job with the removal and re-installation of the plumbing under my kitchen sink. My plumber was always on time, courteous, neat, and professional. He patiently answered all the questions I had about the process. He was focused and methodical in his work. He took great care to securely cap off the drain pipe for the days in between removal and re-installation of the plumbing. He was very neat, and cleaned up really well after he was done with the re-install. He checked for leaks before he was done. I am very happy with the service from Aqua Plumbing. They were competitively priced. The office staff was great about scheduling my two appointments around the countertop company's sink installation schedule.

They were professional and the estimate was thorough. I ended up going with a different company.

I had a leak of questionable origin in my kitchen cabinets. I called Aqua for an inspection. They sent Nate from plumbing and Brad from Air conditioning. They showed up the same day called spent an hour investigating the problem which appeared to be a roof leak and did not charge for the visit. They were very prompt and professional. Would use them for any plumbing issue.
