Had him come out for some estimates. He told me the labor alone for my small bathroom would be $7,500. Pretty much thought at that time, he was trying to rip me off. He also told me $350 for a door installation. He said he would get back with my by email for estimates about everything we had talked about within the week. I never heard back from him. He wasted my time.

He came to my house to look at what needed replacing, took measurements and made suggestions as to what would be good to install, wrote up a detailed estimate and took my deposit. He had replaced the windows and doors in the rest of my house a few years ago, so knew what I liked and carried on the same styles. Three weeks later when all the windows and both doors (which weren't standard size and so had to be made special) were completed, the work began. He and his helper are unfailingly polite to the customer and to each other, work very well together, and clean up after themselves. The job took three days, which is what he had estimated. Oh, and they also put a coat of primer on the exterior wood before installing it. What used to be a ratty, drafty area used mostly by the cats is now a for real sun-room that once it's finish painted and spruced-up, I look forward to spending more time in myself!
Description of Work: Replaced all the old jalousie windows, both doors, and termite-eaten/rotted supports and windowsills in my Florida room, plus rotted soffit along that side of the house/carport.

It was started on the day he said it would and finished the job by the date we needed it done. They worked extra time to make sure it got done. Highly recommend.
Description of Work: We had our kitchen updated and Reid did a great job. It turned out great and he did the extras to make it turn out exactly the way we had wanted it. We will use them again to do more remodeling in the future. They always made sure the job site was cleaned up at the end of each day.

I called and spoke to his wife who also works with him, we scheduled a time to have an estimate done. He was very personable when he arrived asking about our son and talking about his own. He took measurements which some other contractors didn't do and was. Wry thorough . He sent the quote about 5 days later. It was about the midpoint in price between three different companies. We were willing to go forward and contacted him again though email to amend some projects and add on others. Nor he nor his wife responded. I sent a second email as well as left a voicemail. Several days later I did receive a call back, he took down what I wanted to add and said he would send an updated quote. That's two weeks ago now and still nothing. I'm not going to chase people down to give them my money. Unfortunate since he did receive good reviews and I was excited to work with him. I've found someone else who I believe will work out much better. Although I don't appreciate his lack of communication I would probably call him again if I needed something done

Our apologies for not being able to live up to our expectations. We make every effort to stay in contact with our customers and certainly dropped the ball, in your case. We did provide you with the initial estimate. Unfortunately, your request to amend the estimate fell during a time that we experienced some unexpected events. We would love the opportunity to show you your experience is not typical of our business practices. Thank you again, for your review.

I liked Reid from the minute I met him. He was very professional & pleasant, something that is very important to me. He & I went down on a Saturday to pick out all the materials I wanted that he would pick up when the job was started and would be paid for later. He suggested a recess in the wall for shampoo, soap, etc...which was something I never even thought of & I loved the idea. He also suggested bars in two places, one for stability & one to assist with getting in & out of the shower. I had totally forgot about that. When the job was started, Reid and one other worker came to first tear the old bathroom apart.and then was given a deposit of $3000.00. He was paying for the materials ahead of time, which of course was not included in the price of the Labor so that was fair. Each day I was told when they would be coming the following day & one day was even asked if they could stay a little late. It was courteous to ask & was just fine. However, one day They were supposed to show up at 10 am but didn't get here until 1:30. I never got a phone call. I wasn't home the day the job was completed & saw that one of the bars for the shower hadn't been installed, the toilet was leaking after it was put back & some of the materials had been left outside & in the garage. I did call him about this and he personally came out the very next day or maybe two days later, which was on a Saturday. He was very prompt about it. I was also told that he guaranteed his work for six months & to call if there were anymore problems. I had needed a track for my blinds adjusted at my house, which is right next door, & he did that for me at no extra cost. It was only a 5 minute job & I believe was done out of courtesy for the mix up with the bar not being put in the shower. I thought that was very nice. Some people would have charged for that. The only reason I gave the price only a 'good' rating was because I didn't get any other estimates & had nothing to compare it to. I didn't find it too expensive but just my opinion. The punctuality rating was because of the day they were late and the fact that I never even got a phone call. All in all I am very pleased with the work that was done & the shower came out beautifully. I am very glad I chose Reid's Remodeling for this job & would absolutely recommend his company.
Description of Work: He remodeled a small bathroom (for my mother, which I was handling, changing a shower/tub into just a shower, tiled the floor, filled in (from the inside) a skylight opening & painted.

It took a couple of weeks for them to get back to us for a couple things we needed done initially. We went with someone else but he finally did get back to us about the first things that were already completed. We decided to have him come out to quote a screened in porch. He was pleasant and did the measurements and gave us ideas. He never got back to us with a quote however.

My garage roof was leaking badly, and I had called the roofers to repair, but they had not been out yet. The weather reports were all saying the we were in for some very windy, rainy weather and I couldn't face the leaking garage another day. I called all around to different handyman services, but nobody was willing or able to come out on short notice. I resigned myself to another nail-biting episode of the garage leaking (onto electrical wires!). I called Reid's and left a pleading message on Wednesday evening. Reid's returned my call Thursday. and I described what was wrong and said that the roof needed to be tarped. "Okay, let me run by there and take a look and I'll get back to you. Do you have a tarp or do you want me to buy one?" He called me back from the Home Depot, told me how much the materials cost would be, and said that he and his assistant could probably get it done within his minimum 2-hour charge for services. Sure as can be, he got it done, and after a couple of days of wild weather, the garage is nice and dry and I can breathe until the roofers can get to it. Reid was polite and professional, his work was done well and for a fair price, and he was so wonderful to do this job on short notice. Thanks, Angie's List and THANK YOU, Reid.

We obtained four quotes for our bathroom remodel. Even using Angie?s list, it was difficult to find providers who were willing to work within our schedule and budget. This is the only bathroom in our home so timing was critical. Reid provided our last estimate and consultation. He arrived precisely on time, on a Saturday morning, for our first meeting. Minutes into the consultation, we knew that Reid was the right person for the job. Reid recommended a complete demolition while other candidates recommended partial. This turned out to be a critically important recommendation as we later learned that significant wood rot was hiding beneath our tile floor. Without Reid?s expertise, we could have installed a new bathroom on top of a rotten floor. Reid provided an estimate for labor on the spot that was comparable to the others that we had received but involved a more thorough job. The materials component of the budget was determined by our selections but Reid offered expert guidance on materials selection. Another great aspect of working with Reid was his approach to design and materials selection. Reid scheduled a day to pick out materials with us. He went to the stores with us and helped us select everything from tile to towel racks. Reid offered helpful professional advice while allowing us to make decisions. This approach was much better than having to stick with the stock of a particular showroom. Although we didn?t need it, he allocated an entire day to consult with us on materials. Reid was very patient and knowledgeable regarding design and materials. Reid budgeted two weeks for this job and he finished it in two weeks and one day. Given the difficulties presented by an old home, I consider this right on time. We picked out our materials over a month before the work was set to begin. Of course, some things were out of stock by the time we were ready for them. Reid had to drive to Sarasota for tile and he had to install the tub twice. Upon installing the first tub, Reid noticed that it had a slight imperfection in the side so he removed it, returned it and replaced it. We never knew about this until after he had replaced it. That is the kind of work that Reid does. Mid-way through our project, I received a call from Reid on a Sunday morning --- he was asking if it would be okay for him to come by and retrieve some of his tools. He left them at our house because he worked the day before, Saturday, and planned to come back first thing Monday morning. He received a call from another customer who needed some home repairs done extremely urgently. Because he was in the middle of our job, he could only help them on Sunday and that is what he did. That is the kind of person that Reid is. Reid worked late into the night and on weekends to ensure that our bathroom remodel was completed. He cleaned up the house each day after he finished working, no matter how late in the evening it happened to be. Reid was courteous, professional, and on time. We have already planned for him to come back and consult on another home project. We definitely plan to work with Reid again in the near future.
Description of Work: Reid completely remodeled our small bathroom. Reid and Kyle performed the entire job from demolition through to the finishing touches. The bathroom was completely demolished including removal of the floor, walls and ceiling. Reid installed new floor and wall tile, bathtub, vanity, fixtures, exhaust fan, etc. Note that the price approximately reflects labor as material expenses were at our discretion.

You can set your watch to Reid and Kyle's punctuality. We had a long list of repairs that needed to be done and we'd procrastinated for a while before hiring Reid. What I appreciated, amongst other things, was that Reid and Kyle worked separately on different projects, at the same time. When Reid and Kyle took out the wall AC unit, it was so badly degraded that they had to put it in a dropcloth. Reid is really creative when it comes to problem solving. He proceeded to construct a recessed insert that fitted in perfectly with the existing wood paneling. When our pantry doors were not shutting without us having to wrestle them, I thought we'd have to replace them, but Reid figured out that the width of the shelves was impeding the movement of the doors and he was able to reduce the width of the shelves which took care of that issue. The exterior door was in bad shape, as was the door frame that had rotted out. Reid took care of getting a fiberglass door, making sure to also get a composite door jamb and ensured that the pin in the door hinges could not be tampered with or removed. Each time that Reid and Kyle left the house, all of the debris was cleaned up impeccably. Reid's attention to detail, cost-saving consciousness and high quality work in a timely way is most appreciated. I would highly recommend Reid and we feel very fortunate to have hired him.
Description of Work: A list of repairs that included touching up some water damage on a ceiling, installing bifold doors and painting them, reducing the width of shelves in a pantry so that the doors could shut easily, removing a wall AC unit that was in severe disrepair and replacing that with paneling that matched the existing paneling, removing an exterior door including rotted door frame and replacing that, replacing two P-traps in bathrooms.

The people who re-habbed my house before I bought it put in beautiful new tiles in the shower, but did not install a shower pan nor the proper type of shower drain. It took a few months, but I realized water was leaking under the floor into my daughter's bedroom. I needed to find someone who had the expertise to do both the plumbing and tile work required to properly fix the shower, but small enough to be interested in the job. I had several people come out: plumbers could do the shower pan and drain work, but did not do tile work. Bigger operations were not interested since I was not redoing an entire bathroom. Reid impressed me when he came to look at the job because he knew what needed to be done, and he showed me examples of similar work he had undertaken. I was very impressed with Reid. When I told him I wanted to go forward with the job, he put me in his calendar for about three weeks out. When the time came, he showed up on the appointed day with his assistant in the morning, ready to begin work. They were careful to keep demolition noise and debris to a minimum. He was able to reuse a quartz threshold from the original shower job, which was important to us because the same quartz is in all the bathrooms and the kitchen counters and island. He did a very professional job installing the shower pan, new shower drain, "concrete" wall board and new tiling. When I asked any questions, he explained in detail what they were doing and why, why the old shower didn't work, and why what they were doing would solve the problem. When they were finished -- in the timeframe that he originally provided -- things looked great. A small issue arose in the following week and Reid came out within 36 hours to fix the problem. We are extremely satisfied with the job. Very professional. I would definitely hire Reid again, and will keep him in mind for a variety of jobs that may come up around the house.
Description of Work: Reid re-did the lower half of the shower in my daughter's en-suite bathroom. He took down old tile, took out old tile floor, put in shower pan, shower wall board, new drain, and then installed the new floor tiles, wall tiles and perimeter tiles to transition to old upper tiles on the top half of the shower. Reid also went with me to Home Depot and Lowes a few weeks before starting work to help pick out appropriate tiles to match current tiles.

My first encounter was with Reid's wife Beth who manages his business. She is charming, responsive and very friendly. I have spoken to her several times and she is consistently helpful and pleasant. Reid went to the property to give me an estimate, then returned on the scheduled date right on time. I was able to be in town the day the work was performed to meet them and see their work. Reid and his assistant Kyle are very focused and hard working, friendly, without being too chatty, they are both very polite and professional. They worked on an hourly rate plus materials and the the total came in right on target. I had told a friend who owns property in North Redington about Reid and she hired him before I was even able to. He and Kyle did a beautiful job with dry wall repair, she was very happy and plans to use his services again. Reid gave me a discount for the referral and 10% off for using Angie's List, that was a nice surprise! As an out of state owner I am thrilled to have finally found a handyman to help me with our rental properties. My experience has been poor with people who never showed up, or came late and left early. Reid's Renovations was a welcome change with his dependability and the quality of his work. I have already scheduled him to install a laminate floor in the master bedroom - because the crew I hired through Lumber Liquidators never showed up.
Description of Work: Installed two 36" floor cabinets to form peninsula, provided a beautiful temporary counter top with routed edges until granite could be installed. Moved outlet behind cabinets to above cabinet height, installed 2 new bath lighting fixtures and replaced 2 corroded tub drains. Moved location of chandelier and installed light. Replaced a section of damaged floor molding.

Reid provided a detailed quote and arrived punctually and my home with his assistant, Kyle and went to work immediately. Both are very courteous, professional and hard working. They worked quickly and competently and whenever we ran into a stumbling block, Reid had a solution. I've used their services before and I wouldn't think of calling anyone else. I also had a chance to review Reid's portfolio of beautiful kitchen and bathroom remodels. Very, very nice!
Description of Work: Reid completed a myriad of projects for me including installing a new bathroom exhaust fan/light, installing and reinforcing shelving in a closet, hanging shades on my patio, fixing some furniture, removing fill material from an area in my paved patio and installing pavers to match, repaving an landing pad outside my patio, install new fixtures to a patio door and much more.

I just needed a lot of miscellaneous stuff done--carpentry and masonry largely--and Reid and his worker did it all. It was great. He re-stained my back porch steps, built a set of stairs from bricks for my shed, and so forth. I'm happy with the work. I was given his name by another customer, who had Reid do some extensive remodeling. I think his price is fair, even though he was forced to increase it owing to the economy, and he is professional and very nice. I think his wife does the management of appointments and things, and she is also extremely nice. This was a really good experience and I will have him back in the future. He was a little late arriving, so I noted the "B" for punctuality to be honest, but, folks, he comes on the day he says he will, so perhaps an A minus would be more fair here, but I don't have that option. I did not have him do anything really 'serious' so I marked a "B" because what he did was fine, but as I did not need a major remodel, I cannot judge the quality for something like that. I'm happy, though, and would certainly hire him again.

Initially we had some issues getting the new door from the door company making it difficult for me to arrange time off from work so he could install the new door. Reid was so nice to offer to work on weekends or whatever it took to get the job done since I waited so long. He is really busy, which is a good sign. He does great work. Also, I used to have issues with water coming under the threshold when it rained a lot and I can already tell, I am no longer going to have that problem as he installed a new threshold and the door is really well made. I love it. He is a really nice guy too!
Description of Work: He replaced rotted wood trim with cement board so it will never rot again - great idea! I have had to have rotten wood replaced several times over the years so I was very impressed he suggested using that product so I won't have more wood rot.
