Description of Work: Detected a leak in Living Room wall so plumber could repair. Plumber called them for us, were here within an hour to detect where leak was coming from. Very professional, left equipment to start the service and then came back 2 days later to check again. Always called ahead and were very professional. Gave us advice on the insurance claim process and helped with that. Would definitely recommend them.

Description of Work: BE CAREFUL WITH THE PRICE THIS COMPANY QUOTES ON THE PHONE!!! I CALLED "I FIND LEAKS" AROUND 7:40 AM AND WAS TOLD THAT FOR A SIMPLE DETECTION THE PRICE WOULD BE $89 AND $250 FOR A NORMAL DETECTION, WHICH COULD TAKE SEVERAL HOURS. THE LEAK MAN ARRIVED AT MY HOME AT 2:20 PM AND I SHOWED HIM THE AREAS WHERE THE WATER WAS DRIPPING WHEN THE SHOWER RAN. HE PULLED OUT A HANDHELD GADGET THAT DETECTS MOISTURE AND HELD IT UP TO THE AREAS I SHOWED HIM WERE GETTING WET. WELL, IT DOESNT TAKE A GADGET OR A ROCKET SCIENTIST TO SEE THAT THE AREAS WERE WET BECAUSE OF THE BROWN WATER SPOTS ON THE 1ST FLOOR CEILING RIGHT UNDER THE 2ND FLOOR BATHROOM. I MENTIONED THAT THE LEAK WAS PROBABLY COMING FROM THE SHOWER PAN AND GAVE HIM A PLUG TO USE. RATHER THAN TAKE THE TIME TO USE THE PLUG AND FILL UP THE SHOWER STALL WITH WATER, HE CUT A HOLE IN THE WALL AND DID IN FACT FIND THAT THE AREA WAS WET. THE LEAK GUY COMPLETED HIS WORK BY 2:15 AND CHARGED ME $250 FOR LESS THAN AN HOURS WORK. TO ME, THIS WAS A SIMPLE LEAK DETECTION AND THE PRICE SHOULD HAVE BEEN $89. I DISPUTED THE BILL WITH THE COMPANY BEFORE PAYING, BUT THE COMPANY SAID THAT THE PRICE WAS $250. I WOULD NOT USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN. I WOULD USE A NORMAL PLUMBER WHO CAN DO THE SAME THING FOR A LOT LESS MONEY.

Description of Work: After a leak was found below the concrete slab they extracted the water, removed the carpet, replaced the living room/dining room carpet, reset the kitchen sink, made new kitchen cabinets, constructed and installed the cabinets, painted and installed a range hood.

Description of Work: They found a water line leak from an old sprinkler system. They dug it up to verify that it was the actual leak and turned off the valve to stop the leak. They also explained how we could cap the lines to prevent any further leaks in case the valve didn't stay closed due to it being so old. They were on time, friendly and clearly explained everything they were doing. Awesome job. Thanks again!!

Description of Work: Leak detection, 2 trips needed, 1st couldnt find leak & 2nd stated leak was from dishwasher. We called in dishwasher repair and GE could not find leak stated possible drainage issue. Flooring contractor noticed continued water presence and suggested another leak detection firm, Sleuth. The Sleuth company detected a leak from the refrigerator ice maker, we had that repaired and the flooring replaced. The Sleuth company charged more than twice what I Find Leaks charged but they did find our leak.

Description of Work: We had a leak from air condensate tank while we were away. They took care of mold remediation, dry wall, paint and carpet installation. We kept in touch via email and phone. When we returned, all was finished in exemplary fashion, except for the carpet, which we chose and will be installed soon. The communication to and from both the main office and foremen was also outstanding and caring. I recall no adverse quality to any of the services we received.

 + 0 moreThey did a good job. They were prompt, responsive, and polite. They could've done a little better job cleaning up after wards. They could've vacuumed a little better after wards. We would definitely use them again if we had that bad of water damage. It was a reasonably large job and they had the quotes quickly.

 + -1 moreThey worked around my schedule, coming out on a Saturday. Pressure testing did not reveals leaks so I was only charged for a service call of $89 instead of the usual $250 for finding a leak. They pulled out my baseboard and found an area of black mold, did not feel it had gone into the drywall above the baseboard - he removed the baseboard, took it outside, broke it and placed in tightly in a garbage bag for my garbage pickup day - he then sprayed the whole baseboard area with Microban to kill any mold (and warned me to stay out of the room for an house) - they also checked the exterior wall and found that the stairstep masonry crack (which I was aware of) ended right at the area of the mold, so advised having that repaired very soon. Cost for the baseboard removal/mold situation was $125. Both Dave and Mark were very professional, informative, and prompt. Would definitely recommend.
Description of Work: Checked for possible plumbing or sewer leak under slab of house with pressure test (a few tiles with darker grout) - checked moisture levels on floors and short distance up walls for possible mold (slight musty smell in bedroom)

 + -1 moreWhen another plumber couldn't find the exact location of the broken water line that was flooding our walk-in closet, he referred us to I Find Leaks. The Technician came out on a Saturday evening and pinpointed the location. He also contacted the original plumber by phone, giving him a detailed rundown of what he'd found and where. And when the other plumber returned to break up the floor, the diagnosis from I Find Leaks was right on the money. Granted, it was a referral and I didn't have many options under the circumstances, but I gave them a "B" on price because they didn't offer an Angie's List Discount.

 + -1 moreOn January 28, Pete Walters of IFL came out and isolated the leak as being in the toilets as the triangular meter dial appeared to stop when both toilets were shut off. There was no charge. On January 30 at 9 AM Kenny Deal installed new tank components in both toilets and replaced ten of the push/pull valves with turn-type valves as Maurici did not have the quarter turn valves in stock. Kenny said the old push/pull shut off valve in the master bath would have failed during the time it was used which would have flooded the floor, walls and cabinets. Maurici Plumbers charged $611. After the work was completed the water meter showed there was still a leak in the system. At 4 PM Pete Walters and John McCormick of IFL came out and found the leak in the PVC hot water line under the floor of the back bedroom adjacent to the garage. There was no charge from IFL. On February 2, Kenny Deal (Maurici) and John McCormick (IFL) used a jackhammer to cut a hole in the bedroom floor and found the leak at an angle joint that had not been glued correctly by the original plumber Beazer Builders' plumbing contractor. The water from the leak was going into the ground under the slab. Kenny Deal repaired the leak and patched the floor at a charge of $450. There was no charge from IFL. The total charge for all the work performed to find and repair the leak and to replace the push/pull valves was $1284. With this letter, I am requesting a water adjustment for the three months the leak manifested itself and resulted in high water use.
Description of Work: My water bill paid in the first 11 months of 2008 averaged $49.03 per month. The bill I paid in December was $74.30 or $152 over the average. The bill I paid in January was $54.04 or $110 over the average and the bill paid in February was $105.62 or 215% over the average. On January 22 I called the water department and on January 24 I received a dye kit to check for leakage in the toilet flappers. No leaking into the toilet bowl was detected in either of the toilets in our villa. On January 26th I called Maurici Plumbing who referred me to I Find Leaks to locate the leak. Pete Walters from IFL came out and pressurized the water system from the faucet in the garage utility sink. Pete cut a hole in the drywall at the back of the garage to uncover the inlet wayer and hot water manifolds. Pete suspected the leak was in the PVC water line under the garage floor but needed to confirm this by having shut off valves installed on the supply pipes for cold water into the house and cold water to the demand heater which is located in the garage attic. IFL charged me $125 for their service. On January 27, Kenny Deal of Maurici Plumbers installed the two valves for $98. Using the valves, it was determined the leak was not under the garage floor. Kelly also told me the inexpensive push/pull water valves installed throughout the villa by Beazer Homes were subject to failure and recommended they be replaced by quarter turn valves.
