They are the only service in town so they can raise their rates whenever they want. For the most part they come out quickly. I did have one problem they caused. They would have fixed it right away, but I was going to be out of town. They did have a contractor rewire the house. The guy spent eight or nine hours rewiring the house with no charge to me. The customer service is nice. I did have a problem with the raise in rates. The quality is good.

Our phone and internet service was basic, but our cable service was a bit more elaborate. I was satisfied with our service, but within one week of another company coming into the area, they called and offered $60 off my bill. It made me upset because I felt like I had been overpaying them $60 for months before they had any competition.

They have a lot of nice programs for local attraction. They have their own Tampa Bay on demand. They are well cast in the community, which is nice. They came on time and the guy was really nice. I really couldn't ask for anything more.

I get the basic cable package. CourtTV is included and is my favorite channel. It's only gone out once in a while, but you can usually depend on it being on. They have time to help you over the phone, and they are pretty dependable.

I have the package with free long distance. They are usually very reliable. The landline works well and I don't usually have any problems with it. They are a little pricey but you get what you pay for.

My connection speed is very fast. I've never had any problems with my internet connection. I buy a lot of things online and look up things for my mother so my internet gets used a lot. I also plan on using it to go back to school.

Bright House Networks - Pinellas County, 700 Carillon Pkwy Ste 6, Saint Petersburg FL 33716-1123. Complaint Description: We had a scheduled installation date and time of Dec 6, between 8 - 10 am. The young man was here at approximately 0900. He was a subcontractor. 4 - 5 hours later he was still here and had not completed the job. As of this writing, we have an exposed cable running from the street to our house, a hole in our bedroom wall and two of the three cable installations not done. The service guy said he would have to come and finish the job tomorrow (which is today, Dec 7th.) He gave us a number to call to schedule a time today. I tried to get him to commit to a time before he left but he refused. Then I asked about the PC router. He said that was to be done by the other installer. I wasn't aware of any other installers. I was told by him the router guy would be here between 1300 and 1400 hours. I had plans at that time, but canceled them. My wife (Catherine Malachowsky, who is the main name on the account) called customer service (727) 329-5020. She was informed by the Bright House rep that they also didn't show a 1300 -1400 appointment time but would give us a $20.00 "I'm sorry" credit on our bill. 1400 hours came and went. My wife again called at 1430 hours to the same number and customer service. They again apologized profusely, and stated they would call the installer while she was on hold. After a few moments, the rep came back and said he had spoken with the installer and the installer would be calling us in 15 minutes. No phone call. At 1500, my wife called again, and was given an almost identical speech. My wife asked to speak with the supervisor and was told they were too busy and did she want to leave a message. The rep stated he guaranteed the installer would call back by 1445 hours. Since it was already 30 minutes past that time this seemed a bit strange. She asked where he was located because of the time difference. The representative said he was not allowed to give out their location. He then stated the time would be 1545 hours when the installer would call. As you can guess, no call, no installer. My wife called again, same promises and apologizes. This time the rep said she spoke with her supervisor and said that the installer would be here by 1800 hours. At 1700 hours my wife found the business card of the person who signed us up to Bright House. I told him what was going on. He said he would find out what was happening. Within 15 minutes we received a phone call from the installer and he was here within 30 minutes. He informed us he was in the area all morning and no one from the office had called him. It took him less than 10 minutes to finish. Day 2, I called the number the initial installer left for us to contact him to schedule a time for him to come over and finish the job and the number he left is a store number. My wife called the customer service number again and was told that they can only reach him by email.
Description of Work: As stated below, the installation was started on time and on day two is still not completed. Bright House Networks - Pinellas County 700 Carillon Pkwy Ste 6 Saint Petersburg FL 33716-1123. One of 3 cable boxes installed, wall plate removed and cable ran and left in yard, exposed. 10 hours later the router was hooked up.

When I call they send someone out within 1 or 2 days usually. Their service is prompt & courteous, they are always early! If they are early & unexpected, they are good about coming back at their scheduled time. I am very happy with them, which I don't say about many companies. If I do have a problem they come right out & fix whatever the issue is. I can't think of anything they do that I wouldn't give an A to. I will continue my service with them.
Description of Work: I have cable service & broad band internet service. In the summer time I get all the baseball games. They have replaced cables when I started dropping channels.

Every time I call with a problem, usually having to do with the Internet, I am walked through the procedure to restart the equipment. Right now, they have me so trained, that I rarely call, but just fix it myself. The new cable information system on the TV works more slowly than the old one (this is an improvement, they claim!), and during the loading process, the programming shuts off completely.
Description of Work: The company provides cable, internet, and phone for our house. We have no choice as to cable company, and bundling seemed a good idea.

Had a slight "in the ground cable replacement problem." (installers cut through my sprinkler lines in 2 places, but Brighthouse offered to repair it) All in all, I'm satisfied with all 3 services.

The techs showed up as scheduled and it was easy to get the scheduled work done. I wanted same day service. That was not available but they did come the next day I could meet with them. Two techs were involved. The first checked inside the house for modem connections and wiring. All was well there, but the first tech (Matt) cleaned some connections and replaced others just to make sure. He was very nice and easy to talk to. I told Matt about a problem that had existed at one time out on the pole. He went to check that out and found corrosion where the last tech hand not completed the job. He could not repair this problem himself but had a line tech come out the next day. Again (Wayne) was professional and friendly and knew what he was doing. In no time he had the defective part replaced with a "new and improved" part made by Scientific Atlanta. Wayne said this new part they were using now resist corrosion much better that the old part. I hope he is right!
Description of Work: I spend about $42 per month for internet service. This particular report is about a service that is included for the monthly price. I am not a fan of Bright House because I am no fan of any monopoly. They are at lease an oligopoly and do not respond to customers needs particular pricing fairness. However, I must submit this excellent report on a recent visit to my home to fix a slow internet connection. They came to my house and responded promptly to fix the slow access speed and they were very professional and friendly and seemed to be very customer oriented during their recent visit.

After the tech discovered that the main line was bad from the street, he spent the next several hours replacing that line and running new cables to the outlets we wanted in the home and on the lanai.

I try really hard to avoid calling them out here because it is always a hassle. They are never here at a decent time. I always hear "we will be there between 9 AM and 5 PM". They leave the neighborhood cable wires laying all over the ground and on the fences, and even though I have called about it they do nothing. I only stay with them because I do not have another option and have a contract.
Description of Work: I have my cable T.V. and my high speed INTERNET service in a bundle package with this company. I had to call them out to fix a connection problem.

The tech who first installed the box on the TV where the was no box before, gave us the wrong box. The remote control had obviously been used, and was in worse condition than the one we had been using on our other set for a number of years. In addition, it did not have many of the features that we needed for HDTV. We called again, a got the correct box, and another remote, which looked new. When we got the 2nd cable box some time later as a swap, we noticed that the remote for that set was more sophisticated than the one we had been given for the other set. We got the more sophisticated box. The 1st set did not give a very clear picture, and we called again. They sent a man who said it was originally set up improperly, and fixed it quickly. Our overall impression is that the service at Bright House is very spotty. Some of the tech's are sharp, and know what they are doing, while others are not up to par. A customer needs to be watchful to see that he gets appropriate service.
Description of Work: We have used Bright House for both cable TV and high speed internet for a number of years. The work in question was performed over a period of a couple of months. First we got an HDTV to replace a old set, and needed an HDTV box, where originally we only had a direct cable line, with no box. A couple of months later, we got another HDTV and needed to swap the box that we had for an HDTV box.

1.5 hours late for the appointment after the mandatory 3 hour window. Unkempt personnel, no introduction of themselves, not so much as an "I'm sorry for holding you up" or for being late. Questionable workmanship forcing a return later to correct - still not sure the phone is working right. The phone supervisor was almost impossible to get through to after going through the voice mail prompt system 3 times. COD was never stated in the set up yet expected after the installation time- I refused. No disclosure was made to us prior that mostly all Brighthouse installs are subcontracted out- which may explain a great deal.

The first three techs did not solve my connection problem, due to not checking pole connections. After I traded out 3 cable modems I still had the same intermittent problems, no Internet connections at certain of the day. I had slow connections at other times, equal to dial up or less. Finally they sent a Tech (GARTH) who listened to my concerns and checked the outside pole connections that I had asked the others to do with no success. He found the problem after checking numerous poles in the area. End result, they had to install a new junction box down the street. After months of not listening to me the customer, one tech did go above and beyond. He evened called afterward (from his home)to make sure I was getting the service I paid for.
Description of Work: Inspection of cable ISP connections problems. Replacement of cable modems.

We are very happy with Bright House in Pinellas County Florida. They have great customer service and competitive pricing. It is really the customer service that keeps us with them. When we moved across town in summer 2006 Bright House was one of the easiest and most timely things to move.

IT'S THE ONLY GAME IN TOWN IF YOU WANT A CABLE MODEM. I WOULD PROBABLY CHANGE IF SOMETHING ELSE BECAME AVAILABLE BECAUSE IT'S STILL TOO EXPENSIVE. I THINK I COULD GET A BETTER DEAL WITH ANOTHER SERVICE.

Bright House, our television and cable provider installed a new jack in an upstairs bedroom. This was not the best experience, do to the fact the man wanted to run wires from one room to the next along the baseboard. I new it could be installed differently, and we called the supervisor out for help. In the end it was done satisfactory.
