I was without water or sewer on Sunday - called them first thing Monday morning. They were there within an hour and fixed everything quickly and completely.

I found Bob Hyps Plumbing through Angie's list. In fact, I joined Angie's list for the sole purpose of finding a reputable plumber to make some repairs at my mom's house. I live about 45 minutes away from my mom and am not familiar with the plumbers in her zip code. I chose Bob Hyps Plumbing and my mom and I couldn't be more pleased with the results. Bob was able to schedule us quickly on a Saturday morning. Bob and Max arrived Saturday and got right to work. They were perfect gentlemen, friendly, courteous, neat, and knowlegable. They changed out the supply lines on the bathroom sink, then were also able to repair the leaky toilet, even though that was a new item I hadn't mentioned. Bob even noticed a small leak in the bathroom sink and took care of that. I felt very safe with Bob and Max, and more importantly, would feel comfortable calling them again for my mom even if I wasn't able to be there. I can't say enough about the entire experience. It is always a little worrisome to invite a stranger into your home, much less your mom's home. I know I would call Bob and Max again withouth hesitation and I will be recommending them to my family and friends.

I used this provider twice. First to fix slow running toilet and leaky shower. Bob (very nice) had his apprentice replace something in shower. Yay! It works, but the apprentice forgot to reconnect the hot water, so I was without until I could get them to come back (which they did no problem, but I couldn't take off work again to meet them, so it took some time). Then I used him again for removing/replacing tub. I was given a verbal quote. When apprentice came to do removal/demolition, nothing was covered, doors weren't closed and the dust and debris was spread throughout the house. Bob himself was nice, but since quote wasn't in writing, I can't tell if it was my memory or if he just more than doubled the cost of the work. Point, no written estimate.

I noticed the water in my shower was going down slowly and my toilet was making a bubbling noise. I flushed the toilet and the water didn't go down. I put Drano Max in the shower and toilet, nothing happened. I went into the second bathroom and noticed water was backed up into the bathtub. I flushed that toilet and it didn't flush. What a mess. I called Bob Hyps Plumbing at 1:30 PM. They arrived here at 3:00 PM and were done and leaving at 3:35 PM. WOW, talk about FAST. Bob explained what caused the stoppage and explained that my low flushing toilets don't push much water down the sewer line. He suggested holding the handle down when flushing so more water goes down the line. What a relief, they fixed this disaster in 35 minutes or less. What nice people and so considerate during this stressful day.

In emergency situaiton, came to the house w/in 30 minutes of being called. Fixed the overflowing toliet, cleaned up the mess and told us how to avoid it in the future... This was done on a Friday afternoon. Was very friendly, positive, helpful and professional. Couldn't have asked for a better repairman!

Slow leak started in kitchen soffet. Called Bob Hyps and he was out in a couple of hours. Found unsealed joints in a/c condensate line (unit in attic so several trips up there) and repaired. Leak did not stop so he came back and did further investigation and found several joints unsealed. Followed up with phone calls (even on weekend) to make sure leak was taken care of. Did not want payment until problem was completely solved. 3 trips in all and very reasonable cost. He and Max were a pleasure to work with and would highly recommend.

Called Bob on a Saturday AM and he said could probably be here in half an hour - and he was. The problem with the toilet was more complicated than I had thought, but he explained what had to be done and work that should be done so there'd be no future problems because of less than stellar installation. Very satisfied with the service provided.

He came out with a helper and fixed the faucets and did a good job. They showed up on time also.

I called to schedule the appointment and everyone I spoke to was very nice. I was not here for the original visit. My cousin was present and she said they were very nice and professional. The leak was repaired and have had no problems with it since. While here, they noticed a leak with my disposal as well. They offered to replace it as well for $185.00. I was not able to afford it at that time. I called again today to schedule the replacement of the disposal. He agreed to the same price, but said he had to add a weekend rate of an additional $25. We scheduled the appointment. When he was on his way to the appointment, the plumber called to say there would be an additional trip charge of about $70, but he would cut that in half since he had forgotten to tell me. I cancelled the appointment. I think they are good plumbers, but be wary of the prices and make sure to ask everything up front. I found the raising of prices to be very questionable. I doubt I will use them again.

Bob and his assistant showed up exactly at the time the promised, were professional and cleared the problem quickly. Very nice guys who I would use again. Fair and reasonable price.

I actually had Bob Hyps Plumbing out twice to get the job done, on 12/29/12 and again on 1/17/13. Bob himself was fantastic on the phone and his crew was prompt -- willing to come right away during the holidays and also to schedule the work quickly before the expected rain that day, when the work could not be done. I have one bathroom in my house, so the repair was urgent. My daughter and husband have since used this plumbing company and Bob Hyps was actually on the job - they were very pleased and also happy that there was no additional weekend charge, which there had been when they called Garrett Plumbing. However, Bob did not come out for either of the drain cleanings at my house. The first time two men came out to do the work. I showed them the clean-out drain near the street which I had installed several years ago. Usually my drain needs cleaning once a year because of the growth of tree roots -- part of the plumbing is PVC and part is still Orangeburg. I told the men that the stoppage is usually 45-50 feet up from the clean-out. In the past, Garrett Plumbing and others have gone in through the clean-out to that point and the problem is quickly solved and costs about $160. However, the young man said that those plumbers were lazy and that at Bob Hyps they always go up on the roof for a better job. Well, the two men were up on the roof for hours and seemed to be having some problems. Finally they said they were done and that the bill would be $200-something. I said I had usually paid $160, so they said that with my Angie's $20 discount and because they had been at my house for so long, they would adjust the bill to $185. Within two weeks, my drains were backed up again, so I called Hyps Plumbing, which does not guarantee drain work. However, Bob said he would send someone out. This time the same young man came out and did what I had suggested the first time and which other plumbers have always done -- gone in through the clean-out. The back-up was 45-50 feet in, as predicted. He said, "Well, we did find some roots when we went from the roof." The bill this time was $50, so the total cost was $235. I wish he had done that first time around -- perhaps it was his youth or inexperience -- I would give Bob Hyps another chance in the future.

We had Bob and Max do some work for us last year so when we needed plumbing work done this year we did not hesitate to call. They came at the scheduled time and got right to work, fixed the problems with the toilet and took the time to check out the valves in the other bathroom and to adjust our kitchen faucet. All work was done well and efficently. Both of the men are pleasant, easy to talk to and considerate. We will definitely call them again if we need plumbing work done.

It didn't go well. The new handle fell off shortly after it had been installed. Furthermore, the plumber put the old, defective parts back in the toilet on his return visit for which he billed me an additional $100.

He did a great job. He did exactly what he would do. He had great communication with me and city.

It was pretty good. I would recommend them.

The owner was very nice and gave me a sense of confidence in their work. They were professional and courteous. I called in the evening and they came out the first thing the next morning. I had a tub clogged and he was able to confirm the reason and clean it out quickly. The job was completed in about an hour. They even cleaned the tub afterwards, which really added that extra touch of service. I would definitely use this business again and would recommend to anyone needing plumbing repair.

Timely service and explained what they found as blockage. Left backup from cleaning in tub for me to take care of. One week warranty but two weeks later I had the same problem of sewage backing up into tub. I called back but was reminded of the warranty & was told I could pay to have it snaked again or to have a camera inspection of the lines to check for roots or breakage.

Exceptionally. I called Mr. Hoyt and he answered the call immediately. He was at my home within 30 minutes time. He and his assistant were very personable and knowledgeable. Our dogs even loved them! After examining the lines, he proceeded to get on the roof to snake out the pipes and clear them. His price was very reasonable and even more so after using the Angie's List coupon.

Max came first....very polite and professional. Explained all what he was doing as he was doing it. Didn't plan to stay as long as he did but didn't complain. Did all he did, cleaned up and left. Something still wasn't quite right and when I called back Bob the owner came out with his lovely wife/helper and snaked the toilet which has been working great ever since. I was very pleased and will definitely use them again....planning on eventually replacing toilet and sink with a more modern fixture.

In light of a bad situation I had a great experience with this company. I was waiting for family to arrive in town to begin work on this problem so had already been without a working toilet in my house for ver a week. They were able to work around my schedule. Max called me to notify me that he might arrive late and then called back to inform me that he could in fact come over slightly earlier if that was convenient for me. He was professional and dressed the part. He appeared knowledgable and was very friendly. We had the daunting task of unearthing some old cast iron pipes that had been damaged. Max was able to provide us with helpful suggestions to complete the job since we intended to do the work ourselves. He snaked the main sewer line from the roof to the street several times to ensure a clear line. Although we were able to successfully complete the work on the pipes ourselves, it was good,to know that I could call on them again if need be. Max recommended that if we needed assistance with completing the work that he would have Bob come take a look and give us a fair estimate. I thought the price for snaking the line was a little pricey, but after the experience I had dealing with the company I am confident that it was well worth it. Thanks for a job well done and I will be certain to call on them again if and when the need arises. Although I did not meet Bob himself, based on my experience with Max I feel confident that I would entrust him to work on my home as well.

We were pleased with their work. I would like to give them first rate reviews across the board. They were very friendly, attentive, and helpful. They helped us move something out of the way so they could get the work done. The job was done quickly, they did not just start it and then leave for a while. They got it done quickly, it is about as quickly as it could be.

It was more complicated than they first thought, but they got the job done. They charged a fair price and did a great job.

Excellent service provided and contractor was prompt in responding to request, arrived when scheduled, performed replacement professionally and cleaned up thoroughly. We will be having them return for final disposal, dishwasher, ice maker hook-ups in a week
