Bay City Tree Service Inc

This was a large amount of work and the company addressed the scope of work by bringing in 2 full crews and specialized equipment, completing the work in one 10-hour day. All the wood was ground into mulch sized chips and removed from the property with minimal disturbance to the lawn.

I called for an estimate and never received a call in return. I have been waiting a number of days.

He is very accommodating and thorough. He is always on the job, doesn't just send his crew. He knows what he is doing and is good about advising what we should do with the trees. We've been using him for four years. Very professional. We have a lot of trees that he trims. He brings a chipper with him and he'll leave the chipped wood for mulch. He'll also drop off mulch if he is in the area and has excess from other jobs.

Excellent experience. We were very pleased. We had four estimates ranging from $1300 to $1900. We felt Bay City's estimate was reasonable. We felt confident that the arborist who gave the estimate was very knowledgeable and would not allow our trees to be damaged by the proposed work.

I about dropped my teeth when I read the estimate. I received another estimate for the same work at only $150

I called Bay City for an estimate at 4:00. Duane was at my house by 4:15. He gave me a great estimate and the work was done by 10:00 the next morning. They did a great job and Duane even called my cell phone to follow up to make sure I was satisfied. Bay City is a GREAT company.

Bay City Tree Service was one of three services I phoned for estimates. Duane came out promptly and was very helpful as well as knowledgeable. His estimate, however, was twice as much as the company I decided to use and is the reason I did not use them.

Very professional and very thorough. They showed me exactly what they were going to do and did it. They definitely made it known insurance was important and did not hesitate to show their binder.

Overall, the experience was good. The 4-man crew worked fast and efficiently; they were done in two hours. Cleaned up nicely.

Not sure if the tree needed the second treatment. It looked fine and another tree across the street which they said had the same problem actually looks better than mine that was treated. However, my main complaint is how they trimmed my tree. It looks absolutely awful. They cut off so much at the bottom, big branches that were healty and beautiful, that it looks like a twig with some green stuff on top. It makes me sick to look at it. I literally have to keep the shade down. Of course, none of those branches will grow back. The owner of the company didn't come out till his "crew" was finished and the damage was done. He tried to convince me it was healthy for the tree. I'm not convinced and wish I'd never hired them and had my tree back the way it was.

Duane returned my call immediately, and he was on time when he came to see the work and give me an estimate. He is very knowledgeable and friendly. He and his crew again arrived exactly on time for the schedule appointment. They worked quickly, cleaned up well and left my lawn in good shape where the trees were removed. A crew member reviewed with me everything they did before they left. He was also very courteous.

The owner, Duane Perkins, was quick to arrive for the estimate, provided documentation of his insurance, lowered the original estimate from $1,750 to $1,600 when I told him I would let him know about the job after getting a second estimate. He showed up when he said he would to do the work, did the work agreed upon, and did a creditable clean-up job of the debris. Ultimately, he dropped the price from $1,600 to $1,100 when I decided to leave one tree standing. When I told him after the work was finished that I'd charge it to my Master Card, he told me there was a 3 percent surcharge for that, as opposed to paying by check. That would not have made a difference in my choice. His $1,100 estimate was $300 less than that of another service, also on Angie's List. I would recommend Bay City Tree.

They were on time, knew exactly what they were doing, which made me feel at ease, and simply did an excellent job. Mr. Perkins told me he would plant the replacement tree free of charge, which certainly helped us a great deal!

ALSO WORKED FOR MY NEIGHBOR. ARRIVED PROMPTLY, WORKED WITHIN THEIR ESTIMATE AND CLEANED UP WELL.

Duane Perkin's was very knowledgeable about the care and upkeep of all these trees and shrubs. The crew that did all this work was: punctual, fast, had state of the art equipment,and cleaned all the debris up. This was all done and everything removed in 2 hours. Mr. Perkins called before he came over and called afterwards to see if we approved of the work. I would highly recommend his tree service to anyone...a totally big job done very well by experienced and nice people.

Duane came on time for the estimate, reasonable on price, crew arrived on time for work, very polite and respectful, excellent work and full cleanup, overall great experience.

THEY LEFT QUITE A BIT OF MULCH AND I SAID THAT I DIDN'T THINK THAT MUCH MULCH WOULD SETTLE SO THEY CAME BACK AND PICKED IT UP MORE OF IT. THEY WERE PROMPT AND COURTEOUS.

I GOT THE COMPANY'S NAME FROM A LIST OF CERTIFIED ARBORISTS FROM THE ST. PETERSBURG CITY ARBORIST. DUANE ARRIVED ON SCHEDULE, WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL AND KNOWLEDGEABLE ABOUT TREES, KNEW JUST WHAT NEEDED TO BE DONE, EXPLAINED IT THOROUGHLY, DID IT QUICKLY, THEN EXPLAINED WHAT I NEEDED TO DO AS FOLLOW UP WATERING-WISE TO SAVE THE TREE. EXCELLENT ON ALL COUNTS. I WILL USE THEM AGAIN.

CAN'T SAY ENOUGH GOOD THINGS ABOUT BAY CITY. DUANE CAME OUT SOON AFTER CALLED, GAVE PROFESSIONAL ADVICE AND CAME OUT TO DO WORK WHEN PROMISED. ALL WORK WAS COMPLETED WITHIN 3 HOURS! THE SILK WAS A BIG JOB AS IT'S BRANCHES WERE OVER NEIGHBORS TWO-STORY HOUSE. PRICE WAS VERY REASONABLE.

I LIKED THEIR PROFESSIONALISM. THEY GAVE ME A GREAT WRITTEN ESTIMATE, THAT WAS COMPLETELY ITEMIZED AND DETAILED.

DUANE PERKINS, OWNER, ARRIVED AT 9:30 TO SPRAY PAINT THE OTHER STUMP THAT NEEDED TO BE GROUND AND WHERE TO PLANT REPLACEMENT TREE. ASKED HIM HOW MUCH EXTRA HE WOULD CHARGE TO REMOVE THE 2 LIMBS AND GRIND THE OTHER STUMP, AND HE TOLD ME $200. HE PLANTED THE REPLACEMENT TREE AT NO CHARGE. WORKERS ARRIVED SOON AFTER, 6 ALTOGETHER. I COULD TELL THEY KNEW EXACTLY WHAT THEY WERE DOING AND WHEN I ASKED THEM HOW MUCH LONGER THEY THOUGHT THEY'D BE SINCE I HAD TO LEAVE AT A CERTAIN TIME THAT DAY, THEY WERE VERY PLEASANT and POLITE. THEY ARRIVED ON TIME, DID AN EXCELLENT JOB, AND CLEANED UP VERY WELL. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM.

WORK WAS DONE ON TIME IN ONE DAY. SOME OAKS REQUIRED REMOVAL OF FAIRLY LARGE BRANCHES. ESTIMATE WAS REASONABLE FOR THE AMOUNT OF WORK TO BE PERFORMED. CLEANUP WAS PROPERLY DONE. VERY HAPPY WITH END RESULT.

BAY CITY DID VERY NEAT WORK AND PRICING WAS VERY COMPETITIVE. I CALLED DUANE ON THURSDAY, HE CALLED ME BACK THE SAME DAY, AND THE WORK WAS DONE THE NEXT DAY. I WAS HAPPY THAT THEY TRIMMED THE OTHER BRANCHES, WHICH WAS NEEDED, BUT NOT EXPECTED FOR THAT PRICE.

VERY GOOD. DUANE CAME QUICKLY TO DIAGNOSE AND GIVE A FREE ESTIMATE, AND THEN CAME BACK AS SOON AS POSSIBLE TO GET THE INFECTED TREE REMOVED AND THE OTHER TREATED.

VERY PROFESSIONAL, PROMPT and LEFT MY YARD CLEAN AFTER ALL THE TRIMMING and CUTTING. I WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THEM and USE THEM AGAIN. I THOUGHT THE PRICE WAS A VERY FAIR ONE TOO FOR ALL THE WORK THEY DID.
