My initial request for an estimate was responded to very quickly. I had mentioned that I needed the fence installed by a certain date due to a party we were having at the house. Tara came out, gave us an estimate, and said they could accommodate our timeline to have the fence installed. Sure enough, A-1 got our fenced installed in time for the party and we are extremely pleased! The guys who installed the fence were very friendly and professional. Thanks again A-1 for making it happen!

Eric's crew, Ron & Larry, arrived on time and started taking down old fence immediately. Ron & Larry were very professional and did not stop working until job was done. Everything was cleaned up and they even took the vine that was on the old fence. Definitely would recomend them and use them again.

My husband then made an appointment. Owner showed up and looked at yard and made a negative comment about it. Never sent us an estimate.

A-1 Fence is great company. Eric is very knowledgeable and I am very happy with his recommendations. . They demo'd the old fence & installed the new fence in 6 hours. After I signed the contract they were 3 weeks out. I caused a delay with getting the survey for the permit but after I got them the paperwork I was on the schedule within 3 weeks. The quality of both the fence which is guaranteed for life & transferable to the next owner & the professional installation met my exacting expectations. This is family business and Eric & Tara, who handles the paperwork were a delight to work with.

There was a crew of 3 people and Eric was there most of the time, working with his crew. They, and the office staff, were very helpful and communicative and did a great job.

I requested quotes from all the fence companies in the area. A1 was not the cheapest or most available as far as job start time, but they were the most knowledgable and flexible. Eric was able to answer all my questions, providing his own professional opinion while still making sure to understand my request. Eric addressed all the little details like fence hardware, ground slope and property line concerns without a fuss. Although A1 had to schedule more than 5 weeks out, on the day of installation they were prompt and worked quickly. Eric was courteous and willing to discuss areas of concern to ensure plans on my end had not changed since the original quote date. Eric's wife Tara was also a pleasure to work with over the phone. She was always polite and willing to answer any questions. They make a great team and provide quality service with a smile.

I found A-1 fence on Angie's List and the reviews were true. They did what they said, when they said they would for the price they quoted. Eric and Tara run an exceptional operation. I wanted a certain look and Eric found the exact profile I wanted, special ordered it and then installed it professionally. Excellent job. I think the price was more than fair, but I actually couldn't tell you because no other contractor even showed up. We were very pleased and this was all done during a large renovation we handled long distance from Atlanta. Our initial meeting for the scope of was vitual done through FaceTime on iPads. Eric made recommendations and explained what could be done for code, He then drew up plans and prices and we were off and running. The special order material had not arrived before we moved in so Eric came out and installed a temporary fence for our dogs at no charge. In a challenging world for construction-related consumers, these guys are a real find. They will go to Contractor Heaven.

ERIC AND CREW DID A GREAT JOB REMOVING OLD FENCES AND PUTTING UP NEW. HE PUT UP NEW FENCING FOR NEIGHBOR AND LIKED THE JOB THEY DID SO HIRED THEM! ( THEY ALSO HAVE GREAT REVIEWS ON ANGIE'S LIST ) HIS WORK SPEAKS FOR ITSELF!!! ERIC WAS VERY PATIENT, HAD TO DEAL WITH NEIGHBORS NEW FENCING ALSO AND THERE WE MANY CHANGES! It took 3 days to get a return phone call to even set up an appt. The appt was set for 3 weeks later. The owner was late for the appt and was here for such a short time, I would never have trusted his measurements and quoted me a price that was $950 more than the other fence companies I dealt with. Gave contradictory remarks regarding a large tree I saw they had received GREAT reviews, but my experiences was very poor.

All I can say is that it went great. I had a very narrow time window because of some travel and Eric and his team were able to coordinate well. Tara was always there with a response via email (often the easiest way to get a hold of me) and always helped me when needed. During the demo of the old fence they even replaced a broken panel on my neighbor's old fence with one of the better panels that was being demo'ed for me. Overall it was a really great experience. The fence is now 5 months old and looks as good as the day they constructed it. They cleaned up everything after the left and the fence was installed in under 4 hours. The gates are perfect, the fence is of a high quality that is built to last; I couldn't be any happier. Thank you guys!

When I make a phone call to a company to line up an estimate for work and the phone rings and rings then goes to voicemail, I immediately take them off my list. This tells me that I will probably have problems reaching the vendor if there are any problems with the work they might eventually perform. So, I called - got an answering machine and crossed them off my list.

They did a very good job. We were happy with their service and wealready got an estimate from them for another work.

A-1 handled my fence replacement in one day with professionalism and ease. They booked two days in case of weather but were finished by 4:30 the first day. I was concerned with the fence crossing the survey borders of my property, so they took the survey and made sure the property lines were followed. I now have a very nice cypress board-on-board fence, and although the original estimate called for a 42" gate, I asked for a 48" gate and they obliged without charging me anything additional. They also built a 4 ft. section with a gate around my A/C-garbage can area which looks great. They used quality black hardware on the main gate and enclosure gate so it looks classier than others I've seen. They cleaned up every bit of the mess, and even hauled away some tree trimmings. I couldn't be happier with the results!

My originally scheduled appointment was changed the day prior due to scheduling overruns at another job site. It's understood that this happens sometimes due to rain. Then appointment for estimate went well. The guy stated that they would be higher than Home Depot because the quality of their fence was superior. Sure enough, when I received the estimate for the same work as HD gave me an estimate for, they came in almost $2,000 higher. Decided to go elsewhere based on those two factors.

It is a very nice fence. They came out in the morning and were done by the afternoon. They did a great job and cleaned up everything. There was a small fence around my air conditioner. I asked them if they could tear it down because I did not really need it and they did. They also took some boards away for me.

Awesome!! Good pricing and very easy to work with! They provided excellent service! Came out quickly to provide estimate and installed the fence on exactly the day they said they would. Could not be happier. Eric and his crew were great to deal with... respectful, professional and experts in their field. Driveway gate looks beautiful!! Would recommend them to anyone without hesitation!

Attempted to use them. Called for appointment and left message: No response. Called back a second time, left message and they returned call and made appointment. No show for appointment. Called an hour after the appointed time and no response as of a week later.

Eric Hughes, the owner, inspected the installation site and provided a written estimate. After I decided to have A-1 do the job, there was a 3 week wait until the work could be done (this was communicated to the customer at the time of the estimate). Eric was also present throughout the installation - nice to be able to deal directly with the owner.. The A-1 crew worked hard and completed the job in about 4 hours. They did a good job of cleaning up the area and hauled away the old fence and vegetation which had been trimmed. New fence looks great.

Everything went as planned and everyone loves our fence - even the St Pete building inspector asked about it! Eric & Tara are wonderful to work with. They are a small family owned business that do it right the first time. Be patient because they are busy for a reason - they do great fence work! We have tons of utility lines running on one side of our home - right where the double gated fence was to be installed....we also have an underground dog fence throughout our yard - Eric installed our fencing without cutting a single line. Tara was very helpful with samples for our consideration. I could not be more pleased. they did a fabulous job and I am highly recommending them to anyone in need of fencing!

We couldn't be happier with the work Eric and his team did. Eric went through the design process several times and was patient with our changes. The timeline we gave Eric was difficult since we were trying to get the fence in time for family to arrive before Christmas. ERIC AND HIS TEAM WORKED ALL DAY ON CHRISTMAS EVE TO FINISH THE PROJECT! After two home renovations I can say I've never found a company that was so committed to making me happy! If we ever have a fencing project again I will call A-1 first. He's not the absolute cheapest out there, but you get what you pay for!

They came out and gave us a price which was by far the best price we received. As soon as our material was ready they called and set a time to come and install our fence. They showed up as scheduled and completed the installation. They totally cleaned the area when they were done. Could not be happier.

Showed up on time got right to work right away. The work was completed in two days. All debris hauled away. The yard was clean and the finished product is perfect.

I found "A-1 Fence" on "Angie's List" in Dec 2012. I had called several companies, but no one returned my call. The only one to do so was "A-1 Fence". I spoke to Eric Hughes in mid Dec about installing a fence in my rear yard. Eric came out promptly and ahead of appointment time on 18Dec2012. He explained in exact detail what would be done, and then took measurements of the rear yard. He then advised me that because of the Christmas holiday, it would probably be in mid Jan2013 before work could begin. I said "OK no problem, I can wait until then". I further advised him that since I live in a "55+ community", I will have to get the approval of the Homeowners Association. At that time I told him the type of fence I was interested in having installed. Eric told me he would work up an estimate and email it to me in a few days. I said "OK" and said "goodbye We comunicated via email & phone calls over the next few weeks, and both Eric & his wife Tara were VERY PROMPT in responding back. I was VERY impressed with their professionalism. Tara called w/updates after" normal business hours". When my approval from the Homeowners Association final came thru, I notified Tara. She said I was scheldued for my fence to be installed on Friday.(15Jan2013) Upon returning home from work that day, I looked in the back yard & saw the completed fence. I was VERY PLEASED with what I saw. The workmanship and eye appeal of the fence was outstanding! Everything was lined up corrctly and the gate opened and closed w/o any binding or problems. I highly recommened "A-1 Fence" if you need quality work & professional people. They are simply great people to do business with.

After having problems with the previous fence install company and finding them difficult to work with, we noticed other work done by A1 Fence outside of our neighborhood. On October 15 Eric came out and spoke with me about the concerns my husband and I had regarding our new fence and gates. At that point we decided to just have the gates replaced since they had not been installed properly and did not live up to our expectations. On October 18 I received a call from Eric that he would be able to replace the gates that day if that time frame would work for me. He and another gentleman arrived after lunch, finished the job promptly and thoroughly. If we had known of A1 Fence before dealing with the other company, we would have chosen A1 Fence instead. I would not hesitate to recommend Eric or A1 Fence.
