 + -1 moreNicholas came to the house and gave me an estimate that was in line with another estmate that I had received previously, however he was so much more professional than the representative from the other company, that I decided to have his company do the job. He scheduled the work for the next available workday. The crew arrived promptly at 8 a.m. They were also very professional, a pleasure to deal with and got the work done within a very reasonable time. They were very neat and left the place the way they found it after explaining all the features of the new system thoroughly. Again everybody made the whole process of getting a new aircondtioning system as pleasant as it could possibly get.

 + -1 moreThe estimator (Nick) was professional and explained each aspect of what he was recommending in each option. He spent a good deal of time in the attic, looking at the existing system and what was really required to complete what we wanted. The installation was scheduled within a week, and the crew (Justin and Derrick) were very professional; working efficiently and cleanly. They sequenced the replacement of the HVAC system (a two day task) so as to not leave us without air conditioning overnight. They listened to our input and made excellent suggestions as to placement of the new ducting and thermostats. I would highly recommend them

He set it up for the next day and the crew of three was prompt and courteous and even waited around in the rain after they were done for someone to deliver a leaf protector (that goes over the compressor) but didn't make it on the truck in the morning.

Al from Powell AC called back immediately and was pleasant and honest about their weekend appointments and lpyalty to existing customers I was very impressed and will probably call them in the future..... I felt their customer service was worth reviewing because it was so excellent even though they couldn't help me this time.
Description of Work: my ac is out and I started calling providers from Angie's list to get quote and see if they could service pretty quickly. I got a ccall back almost immediately from Al with the company. We talked about the situation and he was very helpful and honest. He explained that they have a number of existing customers that have priority so he wasn't sure they could get out this weekend. As I told him, that is exactly the service I would expect from my existing company and agree with that 100%. I won't deal with them this weekend but you can bet that I will check with them if needed down the road. Excellent customer service - fast, nice, and honest!

 + -1 moreOur air conditioning unit was blowing warm air late this afternoon, so we called Powell, with whom we have a service contract. Our call was handled by the answering service, with a prompt return call by the service technician. The technician arrived as promised and promptly diagnosed the problem, replaced the capacitor, and, within about two hours of our initial phone call, our system was back up and running normally. We are very happy with the prompt, courteous, and professoinal service provided on a warm Saturday evening.
Description of Work: Replaced a burned out starter capacitor on our air conditioning unit.

I was on limited time, and Al was able to arrange a last minute appointment for an All Pro salesman to come out and give me an estimate on a replacement. I plan on using All Pro to replace my system without even getting another estimate from anyone else.

 + -1 moreI called Powell Saturday afternoon because my air conditioning stopped working, I received a call from the technician within a few minutes and he was to my home within an hour. Jeremy did a thorough diagnostic of the system, determined problem and fixed it in under an hour. The tech was professional and friendly and will call them again if I have a problem. I would also mention that I had another company out to look at the unit; the tech did not spend the time to check the system and told us that the compressor had seized and it needed a new unit. For less than 10% of the quoted price for the new system Powell had my house cool again.

 + -1 moreOur technician was great. he told us we didn't need a whole house dehumidifier, which is what we thought we needed. He explained fully why we didn't need it. Then he told us all the things we should do to get the air moving better thus eliminating excessive moisture. Very simple things to do and we didn't have a clue until he explained everything to us. he did a thorough inspection of our AC system. He spent as much time as we needed to understand what he was explaining to us.

 + -1 moreMy experience with Powells was fantastic. I called several companies looking for fast service to fix a leak in my A/C Unit. Powells was the only one who could do a late afternoon, same-day appointment. The serviceman, Dan, arrived exactly on time, and was very nice. He explained everything he was doing, offered suggestions for keeping my unit up to par, and even worked outside with a nasty thunderstorm on the horizon. I was so impressed with the service, I went ahead and signed up for their bi-annual maintenance plan! Overall, this experience was everything I wanted from an Angie's List referral.

 + -1 moreWithin 30 minutes of my initial phone call, I had a call back that a technician was on his way. Very professional; neat; informative. I ended up buying the service plan since the unit is 7 years old and I want to keep it for many more years. Would highly recommend them to anyone needing AC/heating system repairs.
Description of Work: When I heard the temps would be close to 90 I had to call because the fan was not engaging. Technicial was very professional and explained what he was doing every step of the way. Did a diagnostic test on power to discover that the circuit was bad that turned on the fan. He had one on the truck, replaced the old one and then checked out the entire system. Very thorough, neat and professional.

They told us about all the rebates that we were entitled to. Some of the rebates we were not aware of. They had a full spectrum of heating and cooling available. I went for a higher rated air conditioner, I could have had a 13c, but I went for a 16c instead because, in the long term, it will be better, and more efficient

 + -1 morethe A/C was not blowing any air at all. Called and spoke with the scheduler who was very pleasant to talk to. She promised that the technician would be out before lunch time. She also told me that she would call to let me know the technician was on the way, which she promptly did. The technician was very professional and took care of the problem within an hour. Very pleased with their professionalism and I highly recommend them.
Description of Work: The A/C was not blowing any air. Turns out the motor inside the air handler was not working and needed to be replaced.

Description of Work: We have been using Powell Heating and Air for several years after terminating our prior vendor for poor service. This company is great. They have well trained technicians who come when they promise and quickly and accurately take care of the problem. They are so detailed that if they come inside you house they put on surgical booty covers. As a regular service customer I get same or next day service depending on the issue. They always have the knowledge and the parts to get the job done. I have the same technician each time and I wish that I could mention him here by name but then everyone who reads this would request him. I have had other techs from this company and the quality is consistent. Good people to work with. Fair pricing and good quality.
