After about 14 years, my husband and I decided to finally fence our large yard given we wanted to have place for the dogs to run as well as screen a future raised garden bed. This was a huge financial decision for us and not taken lightly. We obtained quotes from 5 reputable fence companies but elected Witt Fence even though they were not the most inexpensive. What made us choose them were several factors: 1. the owner , Ed Witt was straight forward and had pride of ownership 2. the office staff, Randy was professional and courtesy 3. Angies List customers had highly ranked him and his company 4. we had seen examples of his work throughout our neighborhood 5. Witt Fence appeared to place customer service as job 1. Even with these factors, I was concerned if our experience would go as smoothly as others but was hopefully that we had done our homework and it would all work out. The reality far exceeded my expectations. From start to finish, it was a fantastic experience. Ed made a second trip to our home to go over the details with my husband since he had not been able to attend our first meeting when the estimate was prepared. Randy contacted us to advise when the crew would arrive and make sure that worked with our schedules. The crews arrived on time and crew leaders walked the property with me to ensure we were all on the same page as to locations of the two fences as well as address any questions or concerns I had. Ed then showed up before the lest post was dug to address any questions or concerns I might have on the project. I was very impressed that he came out at the start of the job since he is the person I had dealt with and it made the hand off to his crews much more comfortable. His crews were fantastic. They were courtesy, punctual, respectful and very hard working even in high humidity, rain and extreme heat. They made such good time, that they would have been finished that day but the chain link crew had to complete a service call in another location so they had to come back the next morning. This was fine since I had originally been told the job would take 2 or 3 days to complete. It also relayed to me that if I had problems in the future, my needs would be just as important as someone who was having a fence installed. The next day the crew arrived on time and was done before noon. The crews addressed my concerns about placing the pvc/vinyl fence as close to the ground as possible since I had concerns that our smaller dog would be able to go under or would try to dig out if he could see out the other side. They answered all my questions regarding hog ties, tension wires, sloping of fence on property etc. They even replaced a corner post when a larger gap appeared than expected where the top rail went into the post due to the angle of the land and it had to be cut to accommodate the top rail. While this gap did not impact the overall structure or its strength, it was unsightly and when quick fixes did not work they did not take the easy way out but rather removed the entire panel, dug up the post and recut a new post, cemented it and replaced the panel . When it was done, it looked fantastic. All of this was done with no complaints, excuses or arguments. The crew leader advised that the crews also took pride in their workmanship and wanted the best appearance of their work as well. After installation a couple of downside issues arose that had nothing to do with the quality or workmanship of Witt Fence but rather those ironies of life. Given that the gate has to be higher than the fence line so it can clear the grass, our little dog was able to wiggle under the gate. However, we found a fairly easy solution, we put in a slightly raised paver threshold in the gate opening that allows the gate to swing open but reduced the opening between the ground and fence. The little escape artist can not get out of the one side. However, before we could install the pavers under the other gate opening, another issue arose. Our lawn maintenance owner had indicated we needed a 5' opening to accommodate his mower which is what we had installed on all three gates. Unfortunately, when they tried to enter the gate opening, it would not accommodate the mower. It turns out the 60' mower had a 67' width when its mower deck was taken into account. While the opening of the gate was 62 to 63 inches, there was no way the mower would get through the gate. Upon contacting Ed Witt to find out the cost to replace the gate for a 6' gate, I was told it would be about $450. After explaining what had happened, Ed did a wonderful thing. While he would have been totally justified in charging us full price for another gate, he advised given the circumstances he would do his best to help us out and reduced his charges to $150! This price barely covers his costs let alone the cost to have a crew come over to move a cemented post, build another gate etc. It is rare these days to find a company that not only provides a quality product and service but goes outside the norm or expected to do an act of kindness for someone. While to some the extra cost is not much or let the maintenance owner take the burden, Ed saw beyond that and helped us all out when he did not have to. We will never forget that act of kindness and will be sure to share it with others. It is rarely you see this type of service in a person let alone a company. Thus, we will always turn to Witt Fence for any of our fencing needs now or in the future and would highly recommend him to others.

Ed Witt came to our home, looked over the existing fence, asked what we wanted to replace it with, quoted us a price, there is a discount for Angie's List customers, gave us a ball park idea of when the work would be scheduled, and then left it in our hands. There was no pressure whatsoever and it was obvious that he knows his business inside and out. After meeting with Ed Witt we knew he was the fence installer for us, so we called to schedule our job. The crew came on the appointed day, did the demolition of the old fence and dog run, then proceeded to put up the new fence. There were no hassles or issues. This crew is like a well-oiled machine. The end result is gorgeous and exactly as described by Mr. Witt at our initial meeting.

Ed Witt built our original fence almost 20 years ago in 1993. His craftsmanship and attention to detail sold us then and the replacement fence that his team installed last week was great proof that he has only gotten better as the years go by. We thought we wanted a much more expensive PVC fence, but after looking at the landscaping and house exterior, he recommended a honey colored fence that not only saved us a bunch of bucks, but perfectly blends with our home. There was great communication from Randy before during and after the installation. They had the utility company clear the property before digging (really appreciated!) and did not harm a single sprinkler pipe or head! The work-team was prompt, polite and highly professional, and everything was immaculate when they left. They created a custom sized gate that was perfect, without any problem or extra charge. I initially just requested a new fence for 1 side of my yard (backing up against my neighbor's chain link fence) and a driveway gate. When the salesman came out, he showed me several pictures of gates to choose from and then started giving me all different ideas on how to give the house the most curb appeal. We added on a small section of fence and installed the gate closer to the road, which looks awesome! I get SO many compliments on his workmanship. The gate was custom-made and they fully back their work, so I'm confident I'll have the fence for life!

They were very professional and a gentleman came to discuss the job. He also gave some valuable suggestions and came with the fence to install the same. They seemed a little expensive, but did a good job. I liked their services and will use the same in future.

Contacted Witt Fence through their website after checking Angie's List. They phoned me and we set up an appt. to see job and provide estimate. Came to my home and provided a detailed estimate. Other companies couldn't be bothered to come see jobsite and just gave an estimate over phone. Had three estimates, Witt's was in the middle but I chose them due to their confident, professional demeanor. Had to wait two weeks before job could be scheduled, but well worth it. The job was scheduled to be done over two days and I met their courteous, professional installers who finished the job in only one day. i even had a small change to the job and they handled that flawlessly. My wife and I are extremely satisfied with their work and would not hesitate to use them again should the need arise. We will enthusiastically refer them to anyone inquiring about fence work.

Ed Witt came out to give me a quote. He was very easy to speak to, and did not try to rush me. I needed 2 different type fencing 6' PVC on side of home, and black chain link along back. I had several questions, and wasn't sure if the plans, in my head, made sense to do. He was extremely helpful in helping me clarify my plans. His crew came out several days later, and they were actually early, and preparing for work before I even got there! The crew leader was articulate, and was accommodating when I asked him for a change in the lay out of the fencing. All the crew worked hard and fast-- and the end result is beautiful!

They were very tentative, on time, and did a great job. We would definitely hire them again.

It turned out beautiful. Absolutely beautiful and secure. He is a perfectionist. He is just wonderful to deal with. He gives good deals. You can trust the product. You know you are getting good work.

This was the best contractor experience I have ever had. The initial response was immediate. Follow up excellent. Crews showed up exactly when they said they would show up. The quality of work was awesome. Very well priced for the quality of the workmanship. The job was performed in such a fashion that our daily routine was not interrupted at all, including the routine of all the horses on the property. The men performing the work were extremely polite and respectful of our property. Ed Witt really knew his stuff, got right down to it, and made the process quick and exceptionally smooth. The design and layouts he reccomended were perfect. I am new to Angies list and am just writing this review now, 1.5 years after the install, but they did such a great job that I am compelled to write this review. Installation went smoother than I expected .... Started in early morning ...through by early afternoon. Experienced employees .... fast and efficient !! I would use them again for sure.

It went very well. The owner came out and measured and gave us the best quote out of three companies who came out. He was very professional and honest.

Ed came out and did an estimate for me which I thought was a pretty good one. I scheduled them to come out on Sat Jan 15. TJ and his team got here around 9am and were done by midday. Great job too. had privacy fence on the back and chainlink on the side. Fence looks great and the dogs love it.

They did a beautiful job fencing our property. We had about 2,000 feet of fence to put up and they made it very affordable in addition to doing quality work. We had chainlink put up on 3 sides and 3 rail horsefence with wire behind it for the front. I think it added a lot to the value of our house and land. I am using Witt Fence again next week to fence off the back of the property.

We were very pleased with the workmanship, although one small hitch came up at a change from 6' down to 4'. (They had gone too far with the taller 6' than we wanted) They changed it with one section and it looked perfect. The change didn't cost us anything. We would hire them again and I recommend them for everyone's fencing needs. Very professional and as good as their word.

Evidently their service area that is surrounding Hillsborough County does not include Holiday in Pasco County. I called to ask someone to come out to measure my yard and provide an estimate and was told it was too far to go. It is their right to refuse work. I will spend my thousands elsewhere I guess. It's too bad, they are very highly rated.

Mr. Witt came to the house to give me an estimate, but he also provided his own insight regarding where to put the fence and how much linear footage to install. In order to maximize functionality and still maintain the aesthetic integrity of my property, he actually suggested that I install much less fencing than I originally planned (even though this would mean he'd make less money). I got several estimates from other fencing contractors, and the prices were all within a few hundred dollars of each other, but I decided to go with Witt because Mr. Witt had spent so much time with me, and Witt Fence had been reviewed favorably on several internet resources. I went with Mr. Witt's suggestions regarding the layout and length of the fence and it looks great. The Witt employees that installed the fence were courteous and professional, and they finished much faster than I anticipated. The removal of the old fence was very difficult because of the vegetation and shrubs that had been growing into the chainlink, but they somehow removed it without destroying everything around it. You could hardly tell it had even been there when they were through. I was also very pleased with the careful way they installed the new fence around my plants and bushes. The estimate included cutting a 3' wide section of my bushes to make room for the new fence, and I assumed it was going to look terrible for awhile after the installation, until the bushes grew back and filled in again... however, Witt was very neat in their trimming, and it actually looked very nice. They did a nice job on the cleanup too. Overall I am very happy with the work they did, and I would definitely recommend them.

This was a first class experience. Workers were very polite and showed up right on time. The job was done very fast. Mr. Witt helped me select the right fence and it is absolutely beautiful. I get many compliments from freinds, neighbors and golfers on the course.

Wanted a privacy fence and decided it would be a great surprise for my deployed Marine husband. (He did not want to do a fence ourselves). Ed (Semper Fi) came out to do the estimate and really provided support for me and the kids. Made sure I understood the process and helped me to understand the choices. I felt safe and not taken advantage of which is so important while my husband is away. Ed understood how important it was for me to get this done as a surprise for my husband, to make our house a real home. Randy scheduled it first available after the HOA approval. TJ and the team were amazing and really "Rocked it Out". The fence is so much more than I thought it would be. I will tell everyone to use Witt. I called and got a quote from them a week before. The owner was right on time with are schedule that we set. I called him the next day to give him the ok to start the job. They started the job within 1 week from signing the contract and did a fantastic job putting up the fence. Everything looks great and have gotten numerous compliments from people walking by through out neighborhood.

The staff and the crew are good people. They were very friendly. They did an excellent job.

The crew of three arrived about 9 AM, removed the old fence and my pile of used fence boards. New holes were dug for the 4x4x8 foot posts, extended about 2 1/2 feet down and tamped down with dirt (no cement, which I did not want anyway). The two gate posts were 4x4x10 feet, installed 4 feet below land surface. The 2x4 pressure treated support beams were installed, then 1/2x4x6 foot boards using ring shank nails. They did a good job cleaning up, leaving about 3 PM.

They are punctual, responsive and answer my questions. They have done a pretty good job so far. They are taking off the old fence, so they can install a new one. There was a small problem with my neighbor as the fence was extended over to their property and they handled the problem very well. They have also asked me to refer them to others.

They were very professional and courteous. They provided a free estimate and completed the work as scheduled for the estimated price. They ensured that all utility lines were properly marked. They cleaned up all of the old wood. All of the work was done on time and with no difficulties.
