Team Farrell

We contacted Farrell and they came out the same week for an estimate. The written estimate only included cost to replace the roof. We decided to replace only the skylights at this time and requested a separate written estimate for this job. I sent the initial estimate as requested. I called the name on the roof estimate and was told the woman in the office would prepare a new estimate and contact us. We never heard from them again. We can only assume from this they don't want/need our business. Update: I met the company again in Wesley Chapel at an art show (!?) and they apologized and agreed to come again to give an estimate to replace the cracked skylight covers. This new ESTIMATE was 3 times the original ESTIMATE, and my husband mentioned to this representative. Two days later, my husband caught them stomping around on the roof. They informed him they were there to perform the work. They were again told we had only requested an ESTIMATE and that the price quoted was way too high ($1500)! They were then told to leave the property. What would have happened if we hadn't been home? It seems as though Farrell performs work without an agreement or appointment. I guess they would have done the work and then sent a bill? We will not use this company due to unethical business practices. They returned to our house today in what can only be considered harrassment.... now the price is $800 to change out 3 skylight covers (once they heard we are getting several estimates). T

On time on budget excellent work

Everything was handled in a professional manner from the quote to job completion. They brought a big crew (all dressed in "Support the Tatas" T-shirts for breast cancer awareness) that had everything completed in a day. The job site was thoroughly cleaned up and the roof looks beautiful.

They're a great company. They didn't completely remodeled it, they just started what we left off so I think it was $1000. They did the tile work, installed the vanity and the sink, and did the plumbing. They're on time, they didn't up-quote after they started, and they're very professional.

Did not use. Price very high.

We were very happy with the end product. We had previously used Farrell Roofing to install a new roof and were so impressed with them that we hired Farrell Home Services to remodel our bathroom. This is an older house so the project included several unpleasant surprises but all were handled cheerfully and professionally. Included cutting through concrete slab to install new plumbing pipe, electrical rewiring, installing vanity, toilet, spa-style tub, lighting fixtures, building a shelf and cabinet. Regan, the project coordinator, was very pleasant to work with and all workers who came to work on the project were upbeat and professional. Bathroom turned out great and we would definitely hire this company again in the future.

The entire process of remodeling went just as explained to use by Farrell Home Services. Workers cleaned up after their work and left everything in tip top shape. We were told when various projects would be started and they were on time.

We called Farrell Home Services to obtain an estimate to remove a window from our kitchen, move the sink, raise the ceiling, install recessed lighting and a solar light. In addition, install new flooring, cabinets and granite counter tops. Regan promptly gave us an estimate and we worked out a reasonable price. Regan stated the job would be completed in 3 weeks. We explained to Regan that we contracted someone last year to install a pool and it took 2 months longer than estimated. Regan promised the job would be done on time. We went to the showroom at Farrell and picked out the cabinets and counter top materials. We also went to the flooring distributor to pick out the flooring and backsplash choices. All the people we dealt with were professional and very helpful. The renovation started on July 17th promptly at 8am. They put up plastic to minimize the dust and also brought an air filtering machine. Each day they would update us to explain the next process. The sub contractors for the plumbing & electrical work were very accommodating and would also recommend them. The person we dealt with most was Steve Farrell. He was friendly but professional. A very nice touch at the end of the project was a cleaning person to clean our house from all the dust,etc. The work was done on time and the end result is amazing ! This company has impressed us and plan to tell our friends to give them a call for any project. Thanks to all the people who made this a nice experience compared to our last project!

I was very happy with the service I got from the Farrell team. Regan came out to view our house and I think I had a complete estimate by the next day or two. The price I was quoted was exactly what I paid. They never tried to up charge or uprate anything, and I appreciate that! Each stage of my job was done on different days, but was all completed promptly and professionally. Regan was in contact with me throughout the entire process, and that was really great. My one and only criticism would be that on two different days I was told they were going to be there but then it got rescheduled (due to weather delays) without us being notified. I think it was an oversight each time & it was resolved quickly with a phone call. If I had to pick one of them that was outstanding, it would probably be the tile guy. I think his name is Dennis, but he really was great. He took his time to make sure the job was done perfectly & he explained everything before he started. Even though I only had a small area tiled, I will definitely use them again when we're ready to tile the other areas! Actually, I'll use them again whenever we're ready to do anything at the house! I'm very pleased with the job they did at our home.

The only problems we had with the service was not being able to get a more accurate estimate because we could not get someone to inspect the roof from inside and consequently, could have saved thousands by them informing us that we could have replaced the entire roof deck with today's standard 1/4" plywood for less than replacing the 1/2" on 90% of the roof. Because of the lack of pre-inspection our price ended up being about 2000.00 more and the job was delayed a bit because they had to order of whole lot more wood from the job site. However, they showed up on time with more than enough people and tools to complete the job. They kept the site clean (sweeping up debris inside and out) during the entire job. Overall, satisfied with the service but will insist someone inspect firsthand before signing the contract. They were not the most expensive (by estimate) nor were they the cheapest, but they did a good job.

Without getting into the minute details, I found the project manager to be a very nice person, but did not follow through with his commitments to me in a reasonable, timely fashion. After trying for 4 weeks to get project details settled with him, I have decided this is no way to start off a project with a contractor (disappointed and frustrated). I had been very patient. Last week, after seeing what was happening, my tenant remarked he would have let him go weeks ago! Out of consideration for the company, I tried speaking to a company owner prior to writing a poor review on Angie's List, but rather than expressing concern for my bad experience or my pending Angie's list review, she started out by telling me that "she had been in construction a long time, and that things just don't happen overnight ". The conversation went down hill from there. I never got so much as an apology from her.....just accused of misinterpreting everything she said. This was not what I expected from a company owner either. (At least the project manager apologized and agreed that he had handled things incorrectly.) I have hired and worked with a number of construction contractors, including subcontracting my own entire kitchen remodel. This is not like any experience I have had before with similar contractors. Very glad at this point that I am moving on to another contractor, and that I had not signed a contract with Farrell Home Services

They did a good job. The price was reasonable. They were great. We originally wanted to replace the door and he said we don't need to spend the money, he can fix it. I appreciated that; he wasn't just trying to sell us a door.

From the very start, from the guy who did the estimation, to the last guy leaving, as far as cleaning up, the professionalism, the explanation, the constant contact with me shows these guys are really good. They're very friendly, it's as if they've known you for a long time, they are able to just connect with you from the very start to the very finish and they even followed up with a telephone call to ask me how things were going. I'm just very appreciative of all the stuff they did. We plan to use them again in future.

Our experience with this vendor was wonderful. The work was completed timely and on budget. Rich understood the inconvenience of remodeling a kitchen as we did, and scheduled subcontractors and crews timely and in the right order so the work could be accomplished in the most expedient fashion. The design work took a while, which we appreciated, and their patience was appreciated as well, and our changes incorporated timely so we could review. Having the design work correct was very important so that we could be sure that the finished project was exactly what we wanted...which it was. All material used was top notch and the subcontractors and staff were all knowledgable and helpful. The punch list was completed timely and to our satisfaction. All inspections were also timely, and since the work was done to code, were no problem. We will certainly use Farrell and Rich Allen for our next project.

Farrell Home Services are very good. We worked a long time on the design and they really listened. They took in to account the kinds of things I want. Even when they say they can't do them they find a way. I do wish that if there is a delay, they could be better at communicating that delay.

Looked up companies on Angie's list. Contacted a few and received emails and phone contact from company. They came right out and gave estimate. They were very helpful and tried to assist and have suggestions.

The quote was done the next day from our initial call. We then called back a week later to say yes and the work commenced two days after that and the entire roof (over 2400 sq ft) was completed in two day. Phenomenal! Honestly, no Don'ts here.

After an initial estimate it seemed a long time before a handyman got back to me to schedule a appt; once they did the work was fine

On Oct. 18th we had an appointment for a screen replacement estimate for our large back patio and our sliding garage door. I spoke to a gentleman who sounded competent and friendly. Unfortunately no one from Farrell showed up or called to explain. I assumed that I had the wrong day so I called Farrell Home Services the next day and spoke to the same "competent" gentleman. He was apologetic and explained that someone must have forgotten to write us in? So we RE-SCHEDULED the appointment for Oct. 25th. Once again we waited at home for the Farrell representative and no one showed up or called to explain! Apparently Farrell must have so much business that they do not need to work on my patio/garage doors. Which is a shame because we were also looking to replace a bathroom and several other construction projects in the near future. Farrell if you don't want these types of jobs then don't advertise that you do them!! Or at least have the common courtesy to decline our request for an estimate so that we do not waste TWO DAYS waiting for you...we will not be calling them again.

Farrell Home services was eager to come out and take a look at my problem. The rep that came out was friendly and professional and told us that he would have a quote to us within the next few days. When I did not hear back after a week, I called the rep and he said he would check on it and call me back. Well, as of today it has been 2 weeks and no quote and no response. This company even advertises that they are recognized on Angie's List. If you ask me, they should be taken off for no other reason that they did not bother to follow up. Even if they called in the next 2 minutes I would not even consider giving them the work. Back o the drawing board.

The screener arrived at the time the appointment was scheduled and with the appropriate supplies to complete the job. The workmenship is excellent, and we can now sit on the lanais without being chewed to death by insects.

Well they were here on time, we had an appointment, they came at the right time and they did the work quickly. Their price was the best of all others, and they did the job well.

I contacted Wayne Allen about putting a new roof on our sunroom. We were given an estimate which we accepted and were told we would be contacted the next week to set up a day and time for the work. That week came and went with out hearing anything, so the Monday following I called and was told they would get back to me later that week. On Friday I received an e-mail telling me they were too busy to do the work

All went as was planned. The demolition was begun on time, and the work proceeded in an orderly and timely manner. Mr Rich Allen was always available to us, and performed most of the work while we were living in another area of Florida. WE were informed of any and all difficulty in a timely manner. Mr Allen always gave us choices, giving us the pros and cons for each. His payment requirements are more than fair. I reiterate, my husband and I certainly recommend him and his company for remodeling and updating a home. UPDATED ON 01/12/2012: Any issue we found after the work was completed has been addressed by Mr. Allen in a timely manner. We have had 3 homes remodeled, and one built. Wayne Allen Building Contracts was certainly the best experience we have had.

They did some work for us and they were very, very good. We needed a lot of screen work and ours are very difficult to do. They came when they said they would and they cleaned up very very well. They had to do a lot of digging to get to where the screen attaches at the bottom. They did it all and I thought the price was really reasonable, I tried doing it once and I know what it was like. They did all the bottom screens all the way around the linea and a few screens that were higher up. They came on time and got right to work, they did the work, cleaned up and left. They did a good job with clean up. Wayne didn't come, his guys came out and knew exactly what to do. He came out the first time to give us an estimate and he came on time. He walked around the whole thing, made some suggestions and gave us an estimate right then. We told him we'd do it.
