Installation went well

Mr. Sutter came immediately after we called. He arrived when he said he would, had all the necessary parts to complete the job, and gave us a very fair price. We wouldn't hesitate to call him again or to recommend him to others.

I am extremely pleased with the service I received. I was told exactly how the system would be installed and how long it would take. All claims and promises of how better the water quality would be were accurate. We've noticed a much improved water quality since the new system was installed. The spigot that came with the reverse osmosis system did not match the color faucet we have in the kitchen, and we were ok with this, but without even asking the next day they came back to install a new spigot that matched the faucet perfectly - this was unexpected and much appreciated. I would strongly recommend Sutter Filtration.

Although we have had an outside-of-the-house water filtration system that purifies the water coming into our entire home with carbon, we became concerned about the safety of the water after the most recent boil water alert in Pompano, Lighthouse Point and Deerfield. After researching on the internet, we decided to upgrade our system after learning that catalytic carbon purified water better than regular carbon and that a backwash valve would help even more. We also read that a UV light would kill bacteria, so that we would not have to worry about future city water or well water contaminations. So then it came down to calling all the local companies that could do that kind of installation and service to get comparisons. We first called the company that had been servicing us for the last 4 years - never got a return call. Then we started calling other companies and compared their knowledge and pricing. Carl at Sutter Filtration Systems was the nicest, friendliest and most patient with questions on our initial call. His phone quote was lower than others so we scheduled him to come out. Very likable guy and hard worker. We watched him remove the old carbon from our tank and he explained that our tank is a 10x54 that requires 1.5 cubic feet of carbon, but less than 1 cubic feet of carbon came out, which means that our old company was cheating us. Plus, we looked on our old receipts, and we had been paying for the better catalytic carbon from our old company, but regular carbon is what came out, so we had been cheated twice over. We watched as Carl installed the better catalytic carbon in the proper amount, as well as a backwash valve with all the hoses and a UV filter. He explained all the details of what he was doing so we could understand. The final test was tasting the water after he did these installations. AMAZINGLY CLEAR, FRESH, PURE WATER now flows from all our faucets in our entire house!! It is such a joy to drink, wash hands & wash dishes. How good we feel taking a shower in truly clean water. The laundry smells so much better after being washed in clean water, so I feel I can use cold water more often rather than hot or warm. To get the best water for our family, for the best value, and know we're not being cheated is very satisfying. Carl answers the phone himself, so we have no trouble getting through to him anytime, and he is always willing to answer questions with answers that make sense to those of us who are not technical with home repairs. I contacted Sutter a month in advance to get a quote: $875 + tax. I got all the details by email, which I prefer. Pricing was substantially lower than other local competitors. The installer arrived timely and surveyed the site. He normally installs residential softeners in a garage or against the outside wall. My water supply pipe was covered over with four layers of concrete and pavers, making access very difficult. That meant the normal installation locations would have resulted in pipes running over the walkway. The alternative was placing the softener on stepping stones next to the walkway, hidden in the bushes. I knew this would be a temporary installation, but it was important to get the system operating before my move-in. I agreed and he purchased the additional materials, which added about $50 to the quoted price, completing the job in about 3.5 hours. Following installation, the softener work as expect for a couple of days before a PVC fitting cracked and sprayed a lot of water. The installer returned promptly and apologetically to replace the fitting, saying it was quite rare but he may have overtightened. After about two more days, the new fitting broke and he returned again very promptly. This time he apologized again and explained that several of these fittings had failed on other customers' systems in the interim so he was upgrading from standard Schedule 40 PVC to Schedule 80 PVC. I don't fault Sutter for the problem. They addressed it perfectly. They charged nothing for either repair. I later hired a concrete cutting specialist to remove a section of the walkway to allow access to the water pipes. I then called Sutter back to move the softener against the garage at an additional cost of $322, which was very reasonable considering the amount of labor and cost of materials.

THE COMPANY HAS VERY GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE. THEY ARE VERY DEPENDABLE AND RESPONSIBLE. THE WORKERS ARE VERY HARDWORKING. THEY ARE OPEN TWENTY FOUR HOURS A DAY SEVEN DAYS A WEEK, WHICH IS GREAT WHEN YOU NEED SOMETHING DONE RIGHT AWAY.
