I spoke with someone Ahead of the appt, to be sure that a technician who came out could address a special project I had in mind. I was reassured there were several ways to attack the problem, and they would send someone who could address the issue. When the tech came out, not only had he not heard about what we had requested, he had never even heard of what we were asking about. He tried to find out, but was told it wasn't doable. The technician wasn't the problem. The company is the problem. In addition, we have a small entrance to one of the air handlers. This company assured me a small person would come out to be able to get access. They had this written in their notes about us. Needless to say, a large man came out who couldn't access the handler or finish the work. Again, not the technician's fault. Our fault for still being with this company, as we had a service contract. They have sent out large people THREE TIMES now, and then have to follow up with someone smaller to do the work. I will get someone else, and not. renew this service contract . This company is terrible.

Van's One Hour Air Conditioning and Heating always goes "above and beyond" any other typical servicing vendor. They came for their free seasonal service, as I pay a very affordable monthly fee. Their technician is always polite, punctual, knowledgeable, and professional. I will definitely continue to use them! In addition to cleaning and servicing my unit and checking air temperature, air flow, and coolant pressure, they change all my filters for me, as well as give me advice and hints on how to keep things working better. I love them!

They have been fine so far. They were on time. There were 2 or 3 I am not certain, and they did clean up. I have a maintenance contract with them.

He recommended replacing the entire unit as the part would cost $3,000 and would take 30-40 days to special order as the unit is very old. In addition, Vans O.H. was very slow in following up. As a matter of fact, they never followed up after after several calls to their call center and after the technician last spoke with me about the cost of repairing the unit vs. replacing it. So I had a second estimate from a different company which sent a technician out who said the unit could easily go another two years and replaced the motor for $650.00 on the spot. One last thing I want to mention is they are running s special on their company's home page which they claimed they honored those promotions, which was rebate of up to $1,750 on an upgrade of an a/c unit. When I mentioned this deal, they tech told me that it was only for a 4 ton/16 SEER unit. Well that's not what the ad said. Just be diligent--always get a second, third... opinion.

The gentleman was extremely professional. He did a thorough cleaning of my system and provided me with helpful ways to extend and ensure a longer life out of my system. It was a pleasant experience. They even wore shoe protectors.

They tried to charge me $5,000 MORE than the top rated guy on angies list BEWARE!!! They prey on seniors, read the rest of the reviews!

Very long story short: After 3 service calls in two days, Van's said I needed a new compressor coil -- quoted $2,000 for that part, plus $300 "extra man fee." Said I also needed a $300 main circuit board (tech who told me this said first two techs had "blown" the board by re-setting it, some the mfg. does NOT recommend doing.) First tech checked iPad, told me "good news," our 7-year-old Carrier Infinity system is under warranty. Next tech said it wasn't. Spoke with Service Manager who also said no, parts not under warranty. Was told would take 1 week to get compressor coil. No AC for a week in August in South Florida. Yikes. Then Van's service mgr. called back and said, of course, we could replace the entire system, today, and not have to wait a week. (Imagine the cost of an entirely new system...). Seemed odd to me that such a high-end AC system would be out of warranty after just 7 years, so I looked up a Carrier factory authorized dealer/service provider. In matter of minutes of getting my model and serial number, they confirmed that all parts were still under warranty. Would be charging just service call fee -- $90 -- to install. Also, when new company came to do the work, they noted that the filter in our system was the incorrect size and had been installed backwards. Called Van's service mgr. and gave him this information. He blamed his distributor -- not sure why it would be his fault. Anyway, pointed out that one tech knew we were still under warranty, so why didn't the others? Why didn't he? Why did the other company find out so quickly and easily? He said it wasn't his intent to mislead customers. Well, either Van''s is in fact seeking to milk customers for $$$, or they are very ill-informed and incompetent. Would highly recommend anyone seeking AC repair/replacement to find a company factory-authorized to work on your particular brand.

My husband and I had a couple of horrible experiences with this company. The employees are incentivized and I believe it is a scandal. Beware. They told us we need a new A/C altogether and and that our compressor was broken and not under warranty. We found out from a reputable air conditioning company (2nd opinion) that the compressor IS still under warranty. One Hour Air wanted to install a new A/C unit in these midsummer months for $8-$10,000 or $2,200 to replace the compressor. Again, beware and do not be fooled. Do your homework and keep your money. I highly recommend Gulfstream Cooling. We switched over to them and there is a night and day difference. They are also on Angie's List and have many A accreditations. Best of luck.

This review is a bit late........ I called One Hour (among others) in February to get an estimate of replacing my A/.C system. Scott Trabeaux came by and I explained that I had Asthma and I feel that my continual problems with it recurring so often may have to do with my A/C, he was the only one that went above and beyond to go and check the vents in the attic...........(even though this was not a easy thing as the way my attic is built it is not easy getting around up there, I even had to cut a scuttle hole in order for them to get around and they had to re-route my pipes in order to install the new unit) .........but he found out that 2 of my vents were leaking and it was not looking good up there. At any rate my A/C got replaced and I would certainly recommend this company to anyone. The price quoted was after discounts. GREAT JOB GUYS!!!! Enjoying the cool!!

Different employees kept telling me different things were wrong, did not get back to me when they ad promised, and the prices they quoted me were outrageous. I had used them for many years-|apparently recent changes had made staff 'pushy'and discourteous.

I've heard of horror stories before, but until now I've never been the victim of shocking customer service and in my opinion outright fraudulent behavior. I had a company called One Hour Air Conditioning install a new compression unit 2 years earlier. My air went out and so I called their 800 number and they said because the unit was under warranty they'd be no charge for the service call to see what was wrong. If we chose to have it repaired the part would be free, labor would be our responsibility. The next day at the scheduled appointment time Van's Comfortemp showed up, not One Hour Air Conditioning. Isaac a brutally rude technician showed up and without introducing himself, demanded my wife initial a receipt demanding $139. My wife explained that we were told that it there would be no fee to find out what was wrong. The tech claimed to know nothing about it and that she should call his office and go find our original paperwork. They went back and forth until he walked out saying she needs to call and he'll go look at the unit. My wife called and spoke to a Mike, (who latter apparently didn't exist) Said they would reduce the fee to $75, my wife reiterated that we were told there would be no charge. Mike said he would have my original call emailed to him so he could confirm that we weren't to be charged. He called back and said we were absolutely right, we were told there would be no charge. A few minutes later Isaac, the tech appeared and our 2 year old compressor and some electrical part called a Disco Box would need replacing for $1400! We paid $1875 to have the new unit installed 2 years ago! It was outrageously overpriced for 5 hours work. We refused the repair. So Isaac demanded we pay $75 service call fee. Flabbergasted my wife notified him that Mike was the second person to tell us there would be no charge. Isaac was asked to leave our property. My wife called the vendor again, who now said there was no Mike! We called Gulfstream Cooling who installed the warranted compressor for $650 Super nice guys, very professional. Yesterday I received an invoice for $75 from Van's for a diagnostic fee! Nice job on riling me up to write an Angle's list review.

After looking over my system, the repairman gave me a quote for $1,247.00 to FIX A LEAK!! I was dumbfounded - and VERY angry. He told me the leak was because of a clogged drain line and that I needed the sensing bulb repaired and moved to inside the unit, I needed the pan and drain lines cleaned, I needed a "Oxyquatum" treatment and included the cost of the service call and $179 for a service contract. I asked him how much it would be to just fix the leak and he told me $552.00!! I paid him his $89 for the service call and showed him the door. I will NEVER use them again. I called another service - NATAL - and was extremely pleased about their service. They fixed the leak for $80.00! And their repairman was very nice, knowledgeable and efficient.

Very poor service. I have lived in Florida since I was a kid (1957), so have had lots of AC service. I do not recommend Van's.

The experience was good. They were responsive and found a problem with our unit, since it was a 19-years old. Their prices weren't that great. However, awhile ago, we had a service contract with them & we didn't have any problems with them.

They are very reliable and knowledgeable. They are on time and good. I have not compared prices but I think that they are pretty competitive.

We were very happy with them. We have a maintenance agreement with them. They are very prompt and cordial. They are very honest and very professional. If we have a problem like water leaking or something they really do come right away. We are happy with the price and we think it's worth it. They are very good.

I've been using them for about 8 years for service on my A/C unit. They're never late and everyone is very polite. I would highly recommend them.

Awful, unsatisfactorily - would never use or recommend them again.
