Critter Control

Took a lot of calls to schedule and get the paperwork.

They never showed up, there was no call from the tech was supposed to be contact us and there was no follow up call to check how it went (had the appt. even happened).

A crew came out and sealed outside entrance points in the roof. Rats problem continued. Called for help. They said the rats are gone. Showed evidence of new rats. All they did is yell at me and refused any solution.

The service guys were great. I had used these guys in the past to trap apposums under my house and the service people were great then as well. The Angies List deal was for Rodent Removal for $295 which I thought was a decent deal since I had paid them about $370 to trap the appossums before without using angies list. Upon arrival for the angies list initial inspection the Owner of the company brought a new hire with him along on the service call. He immediatley let me know that the angies list package only included rats not appossums. Apparently appossums are wildlife and not rodents. My mistake. No biggie but I did end up paying more than I did the first time without angies list deal. He stated that I definitely had rats and needed rat trapping anyways. He also recommended a package to seal the home from rodents and wildlife, basically where they put mesh screen along the endges of the house and over any holes where animals can get in. I had been quoted for this in the past and declined, but was thinking of doing it this time based upon continued issues with appossums under the house. I was expecting a quote of about $900 which was what I was quoted less than a year earlier. To my surprise his quote was over $3000, more than triple what I had been quoted for the same service from the same company prior. Same house. Nothing changed besides the person standing in front of me. When questioned and shown the earlier estimate he said "oh ya well the price changed and I'm the boss and the other person didn't know what they were quoting blah blah blah.....lots of double talk which really showed how unscrupulous this guy is. Long story short I had already paid for the rat and apposum trapping so they came and did that for a week. They did not catch any rats. Not one. It became obvious this guy was full of you know what. 2 appossums were caught over the week and I can't stress enough that the service guys were great. Its not there fault the boss is like he is. I won't use this company again just because this guy tried to pull one over on me and at the same time, was generally just an annoying person, perhaps trying to show off for the woman he was training. Who knows.

They were a pleasure to work with. They gave advice, were here every week, they were very polite and very efficient. When I asked for insurance they sent over about 15 pages as an attachment which I was pleased with.

They showed up and provided ideas on how to minimize bugs in backyard. They treated the entire yard. It worked for a few days but certainly not the 2-3 weeks as advertised. I really only needed it for a week so not terribly concerned or annoyed. It rained a few days later so I guess that Is why the product didn't work anymore. IF it doesn't rain and you only need for a few days then this certainly works (ie outside party), otherwise... you get my point. I gave price a B because I think I have seen this big deal cheaper ($59??) from this provider in the past so not sure why price fluctuates on a this type of treatment.

I'm very pleased with the service. I contacted them via Angie's List. They were very accommodating to our schedule, and provided service within 24 hours :) and reasonable pricing compared to other quotes. Robert performed the required pest inspection for our home refinance in a prompt and professional matter. He also provided helpful tips for sugar ants and crazy ants which is the only pest problem we ever have encountered at our home since 1996. I will contact Critter Control in the future for any and all pest control services.

Yesterday I called Critter Control. Today Robert returned my called and we made an appointment for mid afternoon. Robert was very professional and he showed up on time. We reviewed the issues concerning my home and he gave me many pointers as to what I needed to have done even though Critter Control could not perform the services that I need. He was very polite, concerned and helpful. I would not hesitate to call Critter Control and Robert if I ever needed to.

We had a girl coming out every month for at least 6 months to spray the interior and exterior of the home. That girl left the company and the owner took over. Ever since the new person took over, they say that our agreement was only for the exterior of their home, but no one ever saw them come. They drive a big yellow truck and we had our neighbors keep a look out and they never came out to our house. And yet they charged us for the service and when we didn't pay (because they didn't actually come), they sent us to collections. We've been told that we are not the only people who have had issues with the company. I only gave them a letter grade for overall because I don't feel comfortable grading them on anything else because they never made contact with me after the girl left and never did the work. It was completely unacceptable.

Called them twice and each time I was told they would call me back. Never called me back.

Basically I had roof rats that had made a mess in my attic for months or maybe even years. Critter Control showed me pictures of the mess they had made, and I went ahead an began the process of getting it all taken care of with them. Very professional company from start to finish.

I ran into a possum in my kitchen Sunday night at midnight when I went to get a drink of water. It apparently came in through the doggie door leading out to the garage and was eating the cat food. I almost fainted. I called Critter Control the next morning and talked to Kevin. I liked that they responded on the same day and sent Steve out to assess the problem. Steve was very nice and thorough, examined the house and identified how the possum might have gained access (dryer vent leading out from the yard to the garage). The first four days he set traps outside and did not catch the possum. But I told him I was convinced the possum was hiding in the dryer vent because I heard him scratching the wall at night. Steve closed the exit to the dryer vent from the garden with wire mesh and set up a trap at the vent exit to the garage. On the fifth day, he caught the possum and took it away. He also closed off access to the vent in the garage just in case. I would call them again in a New York minute if I had a critter problem.

Whilst they were very professional and prompt, the product hasn't worked very well and we're still having trouble. We've decided to pursue other services since it wasn't effective.

While it helped that I knew where the rat was currently hiding (but had been unsuccessful in baiting), Critter Control trapped and removed the very unwelcome invader within a few days, thank goodness. Knowledgeable and caring estimator and technician.

Very courteous and thorough. Would use their services again.

It was okay so far. Maybe I would use them again, not sure.

After hearing the attic critter Fri evening, called Sat morning. Very friendly person answering the phone told me I would get a call Monday to schedule a free inspection. Monday morning got the call from Loren, Monday afternoon had the inspection. All options explained clearly and completely. Signed and payed contract. Initial rodent traps set. I was told I would receive a call to schedule an animal exclusion. Promptly received Mon evening call from Dave and the team was here Tues morning. Exclusion was completed and everything reviewed. I am waiting for the next call to schedule trap checks. I anticipate that will be done as efficiently and quickly as all other services. Hopefully I don't need that exclusion guarantee but if needed, I have no doubt Critter Control will respond promptly.

trapped one possum. did not reset the trap as the time allotted in the deal had expired. I disagreed with how the time was counted but to no avail. I told him we were renting the house and were leaving in less than a year so we had no interest in paying ( $500 or so) to have the house secured from critters entering. At that point he lost all interest and soon left.

I have a contract for 3 or 4 times a year. The thing is, for the outside, the guy said he was going to do a 3 $55 treatment. He told me when he was doing the first one because he was there and then he did two more, I never knew he went to the house because it was an outdoor treatment and I was at work. So he left the bill for $110 for the two that I wasn't even home when he came. So I am trying to argue with the person that answers the phone, he never got back with me, I called them two week ago. I didn't want to do the other two. I figured, I'd do the one and see how it works but he didn't tell me when he was coming back. He just came back and did something to the lawn and the plants and didn't tell me. He didn't even leave a card that he was there. I am going to continue for the bugs in the house.

The ultimate professionals. From the initial call, which was returned promptly, throughout the entire process which involved multiple visits, there was constant and timely communication and follow through. I had a roofer out the very next day after Critter Control completed their work and even he marveled about the work they had done. It was a pleasure dealing with each and every person I worked with, Loren, Edgar and his crew, Steve, and Dave...I am confident that the work they did will prevent issues as long as I do my part in addressing the fascia ssues they found and were able to temporarily seal for me. It's nice being able to sleep through the night again! Thanks guys!

I was hearing scratching in the attic, called Critter Control & scheduled an appointment for that same day. Loren inspected the attic & found evidence of rats along with several points of entry around the house. He set traps and scheduled the repairs to be done a few days later. Emerson & his crew (total of 5) came and sealed up every possible point of entry, took before & after pictures to show me and did a great job. Nick came and checked the traps 3 times a week until he was convinced that there were no more rats. Excellent company, always on time and a pleasure to work with. Highly recommend!

I had previously contacted another termite exterminator and was told that my area is booked and cannot be properly serviced. I appreciate the honest response. However, I still have the problem of needing termite treatment. So the lady that answered my call said to call Critter Control. That's the company my bosses told me to give out to customers. I called Critter Control and received a pleasant reception from Kevin who took down my info (hence the B grade). He told me to expect a call within a few hours from the termite division. After a day and a half, I called Kevin back to let him know I didn't receive a call from "Robert". I wanted to make sure my contact number was correct. It was and Kevin assured me that I would be called back. It's been at least 5 days now without a call or text. Even if you are not available to service, at least a courtesy call to explain why would be professional. Should Critter Control call back in response to this poor review, I will not use them. There's no need to receive service from a company that does not want to do business from potential customers that actively reach out to them. I've also let the termite company that referred them of my non-responsive experience and to not recommend Critter Control to other potential customers. Yes, Critter Control's Angie's List rating is high. But it must be for the lawn and pest control. Certainly not for termite control division.

EST!GREAT! Extremely professiona and personable. Arrived early for the appointment and did exactly what they said they were going to do. Critter Control is the BEST!
