Air Conditioning & Appliance By Jim

Jim came out for a service call the same day that I contacted him when my AC stopped blowing cold air. I found him on Angie's list where he was the highest rated local AC guy. Communication was clear, he was punctual, and my mother, who happened to be home at the time, said he was very smart and showed her what was wrong with the AC unit after taking it apart. He even took his shoes off (a rule in my house ;)) while he was diagnosing the problem. He then called me and we discussed the options for repair. My electrical system was tripping because of the AC unit going bad, so Jim referred me to an electrician first before he started any more diagnostics. After the electrician did his part, I was told that the compressor had reached the end of its life, and kept tripping the electrical system. I called Jim back for a quote on a new unit, in addition to two other AC companies for comparison. Jim's quote was $500 less that the others for the same size AC unit, so I went with him. Jim arranged the install 2 days after we agreed to the contract as I requested. His service man arrived on time as scheduled the morning of the install to remove the old system. Per my request, he laid down sheets and cardboard and used the shoe covers I had provided to keep the marble floors clean. Jim and a second serviceman arrive about an hour later with the new AC unit and began the install. my old outdoor unit was buried in mulch and walled in for the last 20 yrs, so it was not easy to get it out, but the team was patient, and we made good conversation while wrestling the old unit out. The install was completed over about 7.5 hrs, and I left the house for 2 hours in between, having full trust in these guys. They cleaned up, vacuumed as they worked, and took the old ac unit with them for disposal when they left. JIm went over all of the paperwork, warranties, registration, filter location, maintenance schedule, etc with me before he left. He added a stand and a pan under the unit for no extra charge, and a float switch as well. After completion of the work, he modified the pump and float switch to where I wanted them to give me some extra room under the unit for storage as well even after he had finished the install without any hesitation. The work was well executed and I wish all servicemen were as honest, friendly, knowledgeable, trustworthy, and communicative as Jim and his team. Kudos! You have a client for life.

He advised me that it is an old system but it works and recommended we not put any more money into it. I was gone but my wife was home and she said he did a great job.

I looked on Angie?s List for a reliable A/C repair company. I came across Jim?s company. I needed a check on my A/C, as well as troubleshoot a recent problem. I called on Monday and he was booked and could be out on Tuesday, so far so good, we agreed to Tuesday afternoon. He arrived, checked the gas pressure on the compressor, checked our filter inside and flushed our drain line. The problem was not occurring during the service call, so issue was found at the time of the call. The issue is intermittent, so likely not easy to catch.

Both the freezer and the fridge have been cold ever since.

It went good. They came and repaired it. I will recommend them because they complied with what they offered. They were timely sending the call. They were respectful and provided a report of what they did. It was a fair deal.

Jim was efficient and professional. All the things that needed adjusting and/or replacement were accomplished in a timely manner.

Jim was right on time and fixed both the air conditioning and the dryer in less than 30 minutes.

One. They were great caked in the morning at 8:00am came at 10:00 am . Time was based on my schedule. Arrived timely ,thorough and explained everything their checking for. Stayed to ensure the AC was operating properly. tested both interior andcexteriorvunitbti ensure unit was operating properly. Reasonable and fixed my unit expeditiously. I called Wed. New Years Eve morning due to our kitchen floor was under water because of the dishwasher, and the dishwasher was not being used. I left a message on Jim's answering service, not expecting a call until Monday due to the Holiday "which is understandable". I received a call from Jim saying they are closed because of the holiday and that he was leaving to go out of town later, but since our kitchen was having water issues he would come over and take care of it if any way possible. He DID show up, he DID fix the problem! Honorable guy, very professional & more than reasonable in his price!!! He is our new go to guy believe that!

It took a while for the part to come in and for Jim to find time in his schedule to fix my squeaking dryer, but eventually, the job was done and done well. I'd use this company again.

I called him and he said he had warned me. I wasn't expecting him to repair it for nothing. I called him several times but he never got back to with someone who could do the job. He could have been more helpful. He was very professional. The unit he installed has been functioning. I was a little disappointed.

Jim was very responsive and professional - the stove was actually located at my daughter's home. He worked around her schedule as she has a daughter who goes to pre-school, and made sure the time was convenient for her - I will definitely be using him again for any future repairs - so I guess I hope that I DONT need to call him but it is a relief to know WHO to call - lol

We purchased this Angie's List deal in order to have the ice machine portion of the fridge repaired. We were told that we needed a new unit. We purchased (at an additional cost than the deal) a new unit and he returned to install it. Even with the new ice machine unit we still run out of ice ... but I blame that on the unit and not the person who installed it. We use a great deal of ice, our former home had a separate ice machine.

Jim, came to asset the problem with refrigerator as water on door was not working and ice maker was not working. He called to find out prices of the replacement parts, called back with the quote. I made an appointment to have it fixed as soon as parts came in. He came at 7:00 the evening on the day he agreed to the appointment as he got delayed because of an AC job. It works very well and I now have ice cubes. He is very fair, consider it, honest and explains thoroughly what he thinks will fix the problem. The refrigerator is 14 years old, so I was pleasantly surprised that he could get the parts, but also fixed it with ease.

Jim complained too far to drive. My work schedule did not coincide with his.

Jim was responsive and adapted to our schedule. We have an older a/c and were having problems with the lights dimming every time the a/c turned on. While Jim said the start kit would not necessarily fix that problem, it would extend the life of the compressor and would be a good idea. He did not oversell the idea ( I had asked about the start kit first). He was efficient, knowledgeable and helpful.

Awesome. We called on Saturday at 4pm and was there just after 6pm. Worked fasted. Kept us informed. Had the parts needed, and charged fair price. Could not be happier!!! We recommend highly!

I have a Bosch dishwasher and he said that they cannot get the parts for Bosch. He was polite but I don't understand why he didn't list that in the fine print.

My experience with Air Conditioning & Appliance By Jim was great...Jim was friendly, courteous and honest about my repair. A part had to ordered for my refrigerator and within 24 hours Jim had it fixed. Appliance By Jim was a pleasure to work with and the cost of repair was very reasonable, I will definitely be using his repair service in the future as needed.
