The work could have been done in one day but actually took 26 days to complete (started on 10/13/2016, finished on 11/07, city re-inspection on 11/08). Mr Smith, from East Coast AC, has demonstrated a blatant disregard for my time. He told me to be ready at 8:00 am on the day of the AC unit installation, but no one came until 10:28 am. Then instead of replacing the air duct at the same time, he left claiming to have another appointment and told me that he will come back another day. We made an appointment for noon but twenty minutes before noon he called to tell me that he will come between 1 and 3 pm. Although he agreed to replace the air intake duct, when it came time to do the work, Mr Smith told me that he couldn't do it. He also said that he couldn't replace the air filter box without damaging the drywall. The first city inspection failed because they decided not to put in all the required screws securing the unit, did not install a flow switch and other sloppy work. After the AC unit was running, I told Mr Smith that it wasn't performing as well as I expected. Mr Smith immediately suggested re-calibrating the thermostat using some special thermometer he had. That seemed strange to me so I asked him how he calibrated his thermometer. He then launched into a condescending tirade interspersed with personal attacks and threatened to abandon the job. At a later date, while fixing problems related to the failed city inspection, he said that the AC unit had an air leak which might affect performance. Just to be sure, I have verified the thermostat using a digital thermometer I bought at a hardware store and found it to be accurate.

Initially he wasn't responsive to my calls, I was the one who had to reach out to him. He came in and he started telling me what they were going to do, which entailed disinfecting only. I explained I just had tile removed so I needed a thorough cleaning to get the dust out. He said that service wasn't included in the deal and that it would be $16 per duct in addition to the $179 that I already paid. It would have totaled to be $168 on top of the initial deal price to clean the ducts. The deal was very clear that the price included cleaning. As he was leaving he said to his colleague "You're gonna run into jerks like this every once in a while."

The technician had in depth knowledge and the equipment to analyze the problem. Previous technicians from other firms never spotted the source of the problem. The technician was willing to answer clearly all questions.

After a home inspection revealed that the coils in my air conditioner needed a professional cleaning I purchased a 21 point inspection package thinking that it included coil and duct cleaning. I am usually contacted by the business to set up an appointment but I had to call and was a bit disappointed that Scott did not have the information readily at hand. He was able to find my information and called me back the next day to set up a time to come out. At the first visit I was informed that coil cleaning was not included and that I also needed to have the freon replaced in addition to the coil cleaning all at a cost of $400. I was initially told that someone would come out on Saturday to do the work but I received a call from Scott telling me that he was short handed and could have someone out on Sunday morning and would take $40 off the total cost. Jimmy arrived Sunday morning ready to work. He came in introduced himself, asked me to honing where the inside and outside units were and got to work. Even when it started to pour down rain Jimmy continued his task. He finished the job and was so friendly and personable that he even went so far as to help us with a powerwasher problem we were having. Although I didn't get what I thought I was getting with the 21 point inspection , I was satisfied with the work and final cost. The only reason I did not give A across the board was because of the delay in setting up the initial appointment and rescheduling the second visit. Not sure my ducts were ever cleaned.

They did a very thorough job. They even came back to inspect the outdoor unit as it was raining the first time.

I wasn't really all that pleased, I just think he came with the idea of gaining more business for his boss really was out doing a thorough job to me of taking out the AC which is what I purchase, I purchase a simple part of doing a little inspection check up and I had used someone before to do it and they was over and beyond the call of duty to me but this one was just like he wasn't almost like not being interested that was my personal opinion.

Very well! Scott was very nice and upfront about what was needed, what wasn't and how to keep the AC clean on a routine basis. I will definitely be using this company again the next time I need a refresh.

The service went well. I was happy they showed up on time. I thought it would be a big crazy and noisy job but they worked very calmly and quietly. The worker kept in the loop with his progress and made sure I understood each step which I appreciated. He cleaned up behind himself and when the job was done we did a final walk around. The owner called me before and after to make sure all was good.

I had my mother meet with Scott at the house and she said he was very nice but they just chatted and he told her I needed a new a.c., he left no report stating the inspection details or the results, just that I needed a new unit. I called him to get more details and he pretty much said the same things he shared with my mom. He said he would mail be a report but I never got anything. A totally unprofessional experience.

I called he asked me to call him after 9 and I called at nine and he never answered.

Unfortunately, when this company completed the air vent cleaning, they cut a hole in the plaster in the top of my air handlers return. In lieu of re-plastering this large hole that they cut out, they instead covered it with a piece of a metallic foil and mechanical type tape. Needless to say, this was a big mistake. Within one (1) week of having this cleaning completed my unit began to have issues on a Saturday afternoon and by Sunday, it was not cooling at all. Temps reached 95 degrees on this date. Since my unit was relatively new, purchased in Dec. 2015 it was still under warranty. Unfortunately, when I called for service they were unable to come out to my home until Tuesday. Upon arrival of the techs, they identified the problem instantly. The tape used to hold the metallic foil was no longer holding due to condensation that was occurring so the metallic foil was no longer secured and air was not being forced through my vents. Hence, I spent $229.00 for this service which resulted in the loss of cooling for three (3) days in the middle of South Florida Summer.

I set a service appointment next day. The person that came gave me wrong estimates by mouth, not in writing, and he had to come back because he could not fit in the attic to check the AC. The next day he came and other person came later, checked in 2 minutes and left. He said I needed a new AC. When he left, the AC was not working at all. It didn't start. I called him on his cell, and he came, and he said he checked (guessing) what was wrong because he had no idea. He said he couldn't do anything, and the other guy could come tomorrow. I told him that I had a working AC unit when he came and when he left I had a non-working AC unit, and that he had to call the other person to come and fix what he did. Long story short, The owner of the company had to come because the other guy was already at his home and wouldn't come. Sometime during a phone conversation with the owner, he kind of implied that they had already spent to much time on this call. I told him it was not my fault if his service guy didn't fit in the attic, and it wasn't my fault if the AC was not working at all when they left. When he came, he discovered that while working with the AC, somehow a fuse was burned. He then proceeded to connect the AC directly to the outlet, and told me that he broke the the on and off switch because it was old. That I could go to Home Depot and get a new one. I ended calling another company who fix my AC and replaced the broken piece.

It went well. Its a 10-story building that we live in and he said typically he doesn't work in condos in regards to the deal. He was professional and I would use him again.

Came and did the tune up. showed up when they said. They were ready to work and got my tune up done in less than 30 minutes. AC is running great and smelling great too.,

Prompt response from owner Scott when calling to set up services bought through Angie's List. Carlos the technician was prompt, explained everything well, and worked quickly. He offered to have estimates sent to me for future work, not pushy at all. Definitely will be using East Coast AC & Refrigeration for any future work.
