Description of Work: A previous tenant broke into the apt and stole the washer/ dryer. What was left in its place was total junk and couldn't possibly be repaired. I was told that they would check with a few used appliance stores to see if there was one for sale. I never heard back from them. They showed up at the apartment but didn't do a thing for me. A total waste of money joining Angie's list.

+ -1 moreCall Nelson's on Jan. 2nd because my dishwasher died on Dec. 31st. Left a message. They called back a few hours later. I explained that they control panel was not working. They said they would have to get the price for a control panel, replace the panel and see if that would fix the problem. I said that would be fine with me. As of Jan. 18th, I still have not heard back from them. I have no idea if they will ever call back, but I'm sure I will get someone else to fix my dishwasher.

+ -1 moreI called Patrick, describing that my Kenmore (by Whilrpool) side-by-side was no longer cooling either side. He made a preliminary diagnosis over the phone and picked up the parts. When he came by, his diagnosis was spot on, the fridge was fixed and he was on his way. Second time I have used him and will likely again for any appliance issues.

+ -1 moreReceived an estimate and executed part of the work on the estimate. I requested estimate for repair of three appliances. Only one had parts available that day. This was a dryer. The information that they gave me did not exactly match what I was being told elsewhere, but I was desperate, so I asked them to come back the next day and execute the fix. In short, they did the work, but did not solve the problem. When I ran a test, the problem remained. I ended up buying a new dryer and canceling the remaining work.

Made sure everything was working properly, cleaned up and everything was back to normal. They replaced the heating element in the dryer. Their pricing was very reasonable and I highly recommend them.

They told me the replacement was going to be $218 for the motor. The scheduling was pretty good and they came out as soon as they could. They were right on schedule and came on time.
Description of Work: They cleaned out the dryer vent. They said the motor needed to be replaced on the dryer. The brand of the dryer is a Frigidaire.

They got the repair done in about an hour and a half. The scheduling was excellent, and that is what I liked about them the most. I appreciated that they gave me some maintenance tips so I wouldn’t have to call them the next time.

The washer and dryer work better now than they have in a while. I have recommended Nelson's to some friends and feel sure they will call them when needed. Very pleased and impressed! Description of Work: Our 13yr old FisherPaykel dryer was making alot of noise and it sounded like the motor. I called Patrick on Sunday morning and he was out to our house shortly after noon. He and his assistant took apart the dryer and checked and lubed everything, narrowing the issue to the motor. They provided options and opinions regarding fixing it, selling it or running it till it dies. He was honest and straightforward. Moreover, they charged a flat rate even though they had to drive from Pensacola to Navarre -on a Sunday no less.

They were able to get the washer back up fairly quickly (about 5 days from inspection through part ordering and repair.). + -1 morePatrick Nelson (the owner, I think) responded prompty to a call for service on a Kenmore stackable washer-dryer. The dryer was working fine but the washing machine had stopped mid-cycle. He determined that it was a problem with the transmission, then drained the machine and replaced the transmission. Pricey repair but definitely cheaper than replacing the whole unit. He and his assistant were courteous and managed to do the repair in a very tight space. Washer now works fine.

Description of Work: Called Nelson, and spoke to the son, told him the problem, that my washer was shutting off when it would come to the rinse/drain cycle. He said he was pretty sure he knew what the problem was and it was an easy fix, gave me a quote of 100.00 plus tax. They came around 11 on scheduled day..said because they were coming from a neighboring town, couldn't get here sooner ( which was a bit of a pain..seeing as its only 30-40 mins away. but I'm just an early starter, some people aren't!) They got here..Dad then quoted me 120 plus tax.!! Told him about conversation with son, who was present and verified that he had said 100!!.no trouble there, just a misunderstanding. The job took at the most 10 mins for a door clicker thing and a wire!! so I felt that was pricey for the work performed!! BUT that could just be the going rate, I don't know, its the first time I've called anyone out to work on my washer.

+ -1 morePurchase a front loader washer/dryer from a private party-got the set home and washer would not spin-a friend had noticed-that the threads on the smaller pulley had material wrapped around the threads-and remove a good portion and used "Goo" to soften the rest. Got almost all remove-but washer would not spin-call private person-he came and mess with belt-and said it had oil on belt-wipe down-and it started to spin. 3 days later the washer would not spin-call private person again-he would not come-so I had called Nelson Appliances service-on Sunday-had wash backing up-and did not want to go to Launder Mat. Patrick came on a Sunday-bless him!!!
Description of Work: Patrick had be called several times-by me-then cancel for one reason or another. I called him on Sunday -he was very kind and came out. Material was in threads on smaller pulley-which mess up some of the threads on the belt-it would not spin-which Patrick remove and was able to get my washer operational till he got the new belt-he came back on Wed-and replaced the belt -plus it was orginail belt-washer is about 5 yrs old. Drain hose replaired by orginial owner with masking tape-but it still leaked.-so I had the drain hose replaced as well. Overall I was very pleased with the service. Will call again if additional applainces problems.
