The Water Company had been out a few days earlier and done a bit of work for me. Among the things was tightening up the stems in the shower. Later that day, though, the hot water handle started free spinning - the teeth in the handle which grip on the stem were worn out (who knows how old the handle was) and the tightening of the stem finished off the handle. I started to install some cheap and cheerful universal handles but the screw for the cold water handle snapped off in the stem so I figured it was best to go ahead and just replace all the stems. I had the hot and cold water stems out several years ago but was unable to get the diverter stem out. I wasn't sure how much pressure I could put on the thing and figured it'd be best to have a professional come out and take care of it. As it turns out you can give a pretty good crank without breaking anything. Any way Don came out and took care of it - we lucked out and he had the right stems with matching handles with him. I learned that there are many sizes of the handle end of the stem and just as many varieties for the end which screws into the wall-side piping - you need to take out your stems and bring them with you to the plumbing supply/hardware store to match them out if you plan on doing this yourself. I priced out handle sets before he came out and the price he charged included labor and materials - I feel that I got a pretty good deal; it'd have taken at least two trips to the store (one of the spacers which came with the kit was a hair too short but Don had others, one of which worked) and about two and half hours (including travel time) for me to do it. He took the time to explain what he was doing and pointed out an easy repair if/when I get a little trickle of water coming out behind the handle when the water is on - the packing nut needs just a little tightening; easy to do.

I have relied on Don the plumber for the last 15 years. When the bathroom in my last house continued to back up, I called Don. He was the fourth plumber and the only one who figured there must have been a rat in the sewer line. After that, I never had a problem. My new home, unfortunately, has old pipes and some issues. Don has come on a moment's notice and saved the day multiple times. I cannot recommend him highly enough. I trust him because he is fair and dependable. This is Florida, where you have to look far for professionals you can trust. Trust Don. He is so reliable and so good at what he does.

I purchased this month's Big Deal ($79 for $200 worth of plumbing service). Spence contacted me right after I made the purchase on a Friday and was able to come out on the following Monday. The service was great - Spence worked quickly and was able to take care of everything on my list plus fix a few other things I wasn't aware of while he was at it (bathroom sink drain was poorly installed). He spent about two and a half hours to do all work which I thought was a reasonable amount of time. He also used some of his own parts/material to make some of the repairs hence the $174 figure rather than just the $79 associated with the Big Deal. I supplied the toilet and bathroom faucet so I'm not including the cost of those items in the price. So the $174 figure accounts for the $79 Big Deal, and additional time and material. I think he did a terrific job. There's little chance that I'd have been able to do all that work in just a few hours. I'll surely give The Water Company a ring the next time I need some plumbing work done.

Don called ahead of time to let us know he was on his way. In addition to replacing 3 outside hose bibbs, he gave us advice on how to take care of an aerator problem with the sink faucets in our guest bathroom. He was very professional, and even took off his shoes when he came in the house. We would definitely use him again. We paid for the parts, in addition to what we paid for the deal, but they only came to $32. We're very pleased.

Don returned our call immediately. He gave us instructions of how to check for the leak. Saved us the cost of a service call and the fix was something we could do ourselves. He was very knowledgeable and professional. We will definitely use him in the future.

Actually, he could not do the job without making it a very good job. He did a quick fix on my problem. I would absolutely use them again in the future.

I broke a pipe in the irregation system 2 hours prior to the NCAA final four causing me to turn off the water to the house. The water company was their in 45 minutes and was very professional and fixed my problem!!

He has done a lot of work for me. He's also helped when my washing machine overflowed. He fixed it. I would recommend him to anyone. He was pleaseant and precise and fixed all my problems. I never had to call him back to fix the same thing.
