Handyman Howard

Howard arrived 10 minutes early, I had previously purchased the replacement items i.e. the fan and faucet. I had purchased the Angie's List Special $99 for 4 hours of handyman service. Howard brought a helper and spent 4 hours replacing the fan the old fan was removed and the mounting hole was modified and the new assembly was replaced. The kitchen faucet had been in use for a long period of time, we moved into the house in 2002 and it was here then, it was difficult to remove the old unit, but they were able to remove and install the new one. Howard and his helper did a wonderful job they cleaned both areas I expected to pay more for the service most companies would have charged extra but Howard said that was the price $99.00. Thank you Howard I am sorry that I did not remember your helpers name. Great service at a reasonable price!!

It went well. He arrived on time and got right to work. I have a wiring relocation project and he told me up front that he didn't go into an electrical panel as he was not an electrician. He installed a light fixture over my sink that I just couldn't do and installed a vanity in my guest bath that has been sitting in the box for over 6 months. (Let's just say I don't get many guests and it wasn't a priority.) There was also a leaking toilet tank that he fixed. He worked quickly and did a very good job. I over estimated the time it would take so when he was finished I said he could leave early. My fault for not only under estimating the time but for also not being prepared with a longer list and materials. I'll hire him again.

Howard works fast and really did a great job! I highly recommend him. I will surely call him again if I would need a handyman's service in the future.

We bought the 99$ 4 hour coupon and requested certain dates for service. Initially our dates were taken but then Howard had a cancellation and immediately responded to us.He arrived right on time and immediately went to work. Howard let us know that he was not able to fix other faucet but told us what he thought we needed, we appreciated his honesty. All work was completed within the 4 hours and we are very happy with all!

Howard did a good job installing the closet, (custom closet from easy closets, including drawer units). He made sure the tracks were secured to studs. This was no easy task since the studs were not placed at the standard 16". He also worked fairly fast. Howard also installed a slumber shade in a large 12 foot tall window.

Was able to get our fans installed without wobbling (good balance) despite a 3-5' extension added due to height of our ceiling.

Very detailed and careful of not spraying vehicles and surrounding objects.

We have had him back many times. His prices are almost too good and he is always very honest.

After about a week or so after the curtain rods were in, it just fell and came out of the wall. We walked into the room and the rod was lying on the ground. I don't know what happened. That was not a good experience. He did a lot of work for us and we spent a lot of money with him. When we hired Howard we hired him for his knowledge, skills, abilities and expertise. If he felt the curtains were too heavy for the rods and anchors the time to say that was at the time of the installation not after the job was completed. When Howard was at the house our dogs were either outside or in another room. He had no interaction with them. He has no ability to comment on their behavior or what they might have done. They have never created any problem with any furniture or the drapes that have hung in our home for many years..

We called Howard to see if this was something he would do. He does pretty much anything you want him to do and is very reasonably priced. He arrived on time and did the work. We will call him again.

It went well. On time and provided the batteries. very personable.

I was very happy overall and will use Howard again.

Howard was very pleasant. He came very quickly and provided me with an estimate for the work. He returned as scheduled to do the work. He was very neat and cleaned up after himself. He was very easy to deal with and I felt honest.

Did not hire this service provider. Found someone else.

They are very personable people, really, goofing with each other, but getting work done. All went well in the house, except for a small hole in the drywall that escaped notice in a bathroom. Drywall looked great.It was a different story out in the barn. Understand, barns are made of wood, the bedding inside the barn is made of wood shavings (and dust), and then you have the hay. One of the men smokes, and I made it absolutely clear that there was to be no smoking in or around the barn. It was disregard, to where I found a half burnt cigarette balanced on a switch box next to the wood siding. Howards saw it and saw me and quietly asked if they were going to be asked to return. I quietly said no and we parted ways, W.hen the owner's basic safety wishes are ignored, it says something about their regard or disregard for you as a person I don't need that, nor do I need a burned down barn..I got piecemeal pricing, usually afterwards, which I was not fond of, and expect I may have paid a bit more than I should have. So, no. I won't use them again. Pity. They were fun!Sorry about the estimates for money paid .Caannot find checks written/

He did a very efficient job and pays attention to detail. He has come with good reviews and I had heard from other friends of his quality work. In fact, we are using him on more work that we have.

His work is excellent. He has a fair price. He isn't dependable on when he comes. When he says he is coming out he does it and is on time but when we try to set up the time to come out its inconsistent.

I own a property in West Palm Beach and my tenant had a problem with a shelf that became dislodged from the wall in the bedroom closet. Being out of the country, I gave her Howard's phone number and she could not have been happier with the service. She said that Howard was very pleasant, very professional and courteous, and did a terrific job with the work. He showed up with the supplies before the work was performed and charged a very fair price for the work done. I am happy that the issue was taken care of and will keep Howard's phone number on speed dial in my phone.

The work was well thought through and performed extremely well. In particular, it was not clear how to repair the handle which controlled the hurricane screen. Han work dyman Howard developed a solution which would last and which was physically attractive and reasonable priced. The work performed was of a very high quality. The work site was cleaned up after they had completed their work. We would use Handyman Howard again when we require services which they provide.

Howard and his mate were ok when it came to responsiveness and punctuality but we just got the impression of lack of adequate skills to do the job with finess and smooth handling. The duo might be good for small and easy jobs but with the shower faucet change in our bathroom, they were struggling for a day to just remove the old faucet and in the process broke couple of our tiles, because of which the bathroom was unusable for days together. While at the end, they at least admitted that they did not have the skills to do the job and left the job unfinished, we had to get another professional plumber to fix the problem that they left unfixed and also pay for a smitty plate to cover the broken tiles after struggling hard to find the matching tiles. All in all - not very good.

He worked for me off and on for a month getting my house ready for tenants he was great!

He was available and reasonably priced on his quote. We only use companies that are on Angie's List. We were happy with the work he did. He was professional and efficient. We would not hesitate to use him again.

When we first contacted Howard he was prompt and accomplished most of the work we engaged him to do. At first the work went well. We paid Howard for materials for a job we have been waiting weeks if not months to do. When he didn't return when he promised to return we thought he was busy and would contact us. When he didn't call or return we called him. We asked about the project. He said he couldn't do the the job(didn't have the skills to do). We asked about the other work he promised to do. He said he was ill but would call us to do the work. Again Howard has not called to schedule the work. Howard has become unreliable, undependable, took money for materials for a job he now says he has no skills to do. We treated Howard with respect and dignity. We provided him with beverages. We provided him with gear and tools. We noticed we had a hard time getting a receipt for the services he provided. We had to ask, sometimes after he left for a receipt. We viewed the receipt as a record of the work done and a warranty for the work. Howard doesn't call when he says he will, dosen't show up when he says he will, takes money for materials for a job he isn't going to do (and hasn't returned the money). We would not recommend Handyman Howard for any job.

I live on a golf course, and there are some very crappy golfers who come through the course - as evidenced by my broken window panes. Howard came over on Monday, and stood in the rain to measure my broken window panes. On Tuesday, he and his helper, Tim, came over and fixed the 3 panes. Plus, they helped me out by getting my garbage disposal running again, and replacing some of those pesky, long light bulbs in my kitchen. They were great!
