ARC Chimney Sweeps

The original technician (Michael) came earlier then the appointment time. He was a nice guy, but he didn't sweep the whole chimney until I called him on it. Then he realized I watched him trying to sweep it with 20' of rods, when our chimney is close to 30'. He then finished the inside sweeping, but he didn't have a big enough ladder to inspect the Chimney cap. He said another crew would be out in about a week to finish the inspection. The day they came out they said the wind was too hard, so they just took pictures of the cap from my roof. Hunter, the lead Technician, said he would get back to me on a quote to repair the Fireplace brick inserts and the Cap, but never got back to me with the quote. Even though they seemed nice, I wouldn't recommend the company or their services. It was the first time I used a service recommended from Angie's List, so I'm surprised at the lack of Quality and follow up.

He inspected inside and from the roof before testing. Recommended a service date for an actual cleaning.

Chimney cleaned and inspected for $79 AL deal. Michael was very courteous and professional and explained all the steps. He took care not to leave any trace he had been here. Additionally found a potential danger with a crack in the rear wall and explained the reason for the danger as well as the repair. He also found the chase cover is an improper fit and is holding water and causing wood rot. Michael called Alisha and she allowed me to use an additional Angie's List coupon for $50 for $100 Fireplace Repair. Utilized that purchase of the coupon as the down payment for the service and have rescheduled them back out in April on some days off for the repair. Highly recommend and will use for future chimney repair and service.

You get what you pay for. Beware of the expensive upsell. I bought this as a $99 special from Angie's List. Technician never checked outside of house or chimney even though it was checked off on the inspection sheet. Spent about 5 mins vacuuming the chimney. Then told me that the fireplace was never installed correctly (It had been in for 40 years and has been inspected before) and the only fix would be a 600 dollar stainelss steel cover. i told him that seemed very high and unnecessary, he then offered me $100 discount if I paid him a $150 dollar up front deposit. I told him I wanted a second opinion, he then told me he was labeling the fireplace as "unsafe for use" and left. I had another company come in and seal some minor cracks and was told it was fine for use. Learned my lesson, its better to pay full price for a reputable, honest company.

They showed up promptly, inspected everything and provided a detailed report as well as answering all my questions. I was very satisfied.

Very friendly, informed, and professional person. We actually got the owner. Felt very comfortable with his knowledge and things shared with us about our fireplace and chimney. The other positive thing about this company is that the owner and those that perform the services are local firemen. I would highly recommend them as was evidenced in the past reviews here when I made an appointment.

It went well. They were good. I had no problems. They were timely.

John Tisdale was a true professional. He ensured our fireplace & flue were thoroughly cleaned, and there was no trace of dirt/ash when he was finished! We were MOST impressed with this company. Absolutely no need to look elsewhere; choose ARC!

I originally bought a deal for chimney sweeping for a house I just bought. When the tech arrived he told me the chimney was clean and did not need to be swept. He did find some cracking in the bottom plate of the fireplace however and said they could apply the price of the chimney sweep to the new bottom plate. All work was done very quickly and every tech who came to my house was very professional. I appreciated that they did not sweep my chimney, take their money and run. I will use this company in a year or two when I really do need my chimney swept! In the meantime I have a much safer fireplace and the peace of mind that goes with it!

This deal was purchased on December 7, 2015. After having to cancel several times due to rain, they rescheduled for January 18, 2016 between 4 -6 pm. The technician showed up at 2 p.m. and when no one was at the house, he left. (This house is currently vacant and being remodeled) When I showed up at 3:45 and found out that they had already come by I called and got an apology and another reschedule for today, January 26. Again, he arrived earlier than his scheduled appointment. However, the contractors who are remodeling my house were there and he proceeded to do his inspection. From what I am told from the contractors, he looked at the chimney from the ground (it is a 2 story house) never used a ladder or got on the roof. He opened the door to the fireplace and looked up the chimney and gave me an all satisfactory on his written inspection report. 10 minutes worth of work for $85. This chimney has been leaking for years and has caused thousands of dollars worth of damage to this house. I had a roofer that temporarily fixed the leak with some silicone and I was trying to get a professional chimney company to come out and fix it properly. As you can probably already guess, IT WON'T BE THIS GUY! I can only assume it was made by a sir. The technician who signed the invoice left at my house was John Tisdale, the owner of the company. You only get one chance to make a first impression. This was a job interview for you and you failed miserably. As for removing the review, no sir, I will not remove it. That is the whole point of having Angie?s list. It was an honest review and I think that the public has the right to read the bad along with the good if that be the case. If you sincerely wish to better your reviews, I suggest that you remember this one the next time you have a job that you don't want to perform correctly.

This was a $50 big deal purchase. It ended up being okay. I had a couple of issues with the price that was quoted to me versus what they told me once they got there. I talked to the owner's nephew and he said that he was going to take care of it. I think the total I paid was around $550. The initial consultation that the owner's nephew did was pretty quick, but it took another couple of weeks before the people actually doing the work actually came. It took going back and forth between the people doing the work and the owner's nephew who did the quote to get, I guess, a resolution done.

The 2 techs cleaned my chimney, made slight enhancements and cleaned up. They were in & out in 45 mins - 1 hr.

Super nice guys, very straightforward about what needed to be done. We didn't feel pressured at all.

We purchased a home with 3 fireplaces, all were determined to be code 3 fire hazards within the inspection and ARC was able to bring all of them up to code, despite two being newer fireplaces and one being an original mason fireplace created within the home in 1926, without damaging or compromising the beauty and aesthetics of the original mason work. Would use again for any fireplace needs.

Went pretty well but felt like a sales trip to sell more services at a higher price

The people from ARC are wonderful! I could not ask for any nicer prompt, reliable service. They explained everything that needed to be done, showed pictures of the interior of the chimney before and after repair, were very prompt with the service. I highly recommend them if you need something done to your fireplace/chimney!!!

Arrived on time, performed the inspection and discussed options. Took on the additional job of cleaning the chimney and had it done quickly. Very professional and work was done well. Will definitely use this company for future work.

Service was quick, on time, and professional.

It was pretty good. It ended up where I didn't need that chimney cleaned as it turned out. There were some issues with the chimney that they said that they could deal with but it was going to be like $6000 and I opted out. He did clean around the fire place. There was no creosote build up in the chimney. I had not really used it in a long time but I was afraid to use it because I had not had it cleaned since Catrina. He was very nice and he did what he could but he said there was no reason to clean it. He showed me up there and there was really nothing. Apparently, a chimney is supposed to have a metal liner and that one didn't have one. I had used it in the past, since before Catrina. There was no bumper/cover on top and he said they couldn't put a bumper unless they did the whole liner. It was complicated than I would have liked but it is an old house. It never had any liner in it. It was a little disappointing but he did what he could. It was really a full chimney cleaning because he said I didn't need it. The price covered an inspection and a cleaning. The technician seemed very knowledgeable and thorough. It wasn't his fault that he couldn't clean the chimney. He knew what he was talking about. For what he did, it was a little bit expensive but there was nothing else that could have been done. What he did, he did very well.

Bcause I used Angie's List the provider gave me a generous discount to complete the repairs to make the chimney safe, and scheduled the repairs in a timely manner. I am most impressed with the professionalism and honesty of this company.

They were okay. Across the board, they were just average. There was no additional charge. They performed the service that I did not follow up on additional services because they're not a local company. I think the guy was personable. Some of the things he told me maybe were not answered clearly enough. They were fine on their price. If they were a local company, I would have been comfortable using them for follow-up repairs.

Mr. John and helper were on time and very professional. They cleaned and inspected my fireplace and chimney. Mr. John pointed out some things that needed to be repaired on a 20+ year old fireplace and chimney stack. We are currently working with both Mr.John and with Mr. Kevin in his office, to find the proper replacement for our fireplace,.. ARC will be performing all of the work, they are good people to work with and are very informative . They are willing to work with there customers. They are highly recommend.

Work was done very timely & very professional. Explained everything done and cleaned up afterwards. HIGHLY recommended.
