ARC Chimney Sweeps

Awesome job. ARC showed up on time and were polite, professional and neat. Highly recommended!

I should have checked out what they were going to do as I thought it involved more cleaning inside the chimney. I have to say the servicemen that came out were nice, but only spent a few minutes on the task. They offered to replace the chimney cap for an additional $715 and when I mentioned getting more estimates I was told it was not necessary as they were competitive and cheaper than other companies and also did a better job with quality materials. My husbands wisely always wants at least 3 estimates. I spoke with another company on the phone and one came out and did an inspection which lasted longer than ARC spent at my home. They quoted me a price almost half the price than ARC giving me the same description of what they would do as well as using the same materials. I called ARC to cancel the work order and receive my deposit back. The lady I spoke with was very nice and when asked why the job was higher than 2 other companies and not competitive price wise she replied that I probably called fly-by-night companies; both are companies and have been in the business for years. She said that they (ARC) probably had more overhead, i.e., employees, workman's comp, insurance etc. At least she was honest with me. The person who was the salesman called me back and was not sure why the lady told me that and stated that the other companies would not use the correct materials. do a good job nor give me a warranty. However, they explained what they were going to, materials they were going to do and warranty for the life of the house and even coming out and checking it for free if I felt it was not working correctly. This experience has taught me to definitely get estimates before having the job done.

On their first trip, they came to do a chimney sweep and inspection, but afterwards we didn't receive the pictures of the chimney that they promised. After I left a review, Hunter called me immediately to apologize and explain the situation of that day that the phone died out of battery. He then scheduled his crew to come out the same day to inspect our chimney again at no additional charge. His crew did a careful job to correctly identify the reason for our chimney leak, and also gave us a very reasonable estimate for repair. Two weeks later they came with the custom made chase pan and completed the repair. We are happy with the experience and satisfied with their work.

Our chimney leaks water a bit. They did a chimney sweep and an inspection, but couldn't identify the exact reason for the leak and proposed some fix that they said may or may not work. They suggested changing the chimney caps and optionally chase pan, and gave us an estimate of $1000+. They said they took of pictures of the chimney on the roof, but didn't show us on spot; they promised they would send us the pictures via email later, but never did. So we couldn't see what's going on over the roof. A week later, after not hearing from them, we had to schedule another chimney company to come and do another inspection. That company showed us the picture of the chimney on the roof, and it can be clearly seen that the chase pan is rusted and seal is broken, so we just need to change the pan but not the chimney cap. I can't understand why ARC couldn't identify the reason and suggested changing the chimney caps (not the pan, which they suggested as an option). The bottom line is: ARC chimney sweeps probably is fine to do the sweep if your chimney is in good condition, but don't count on them for the inspection and fix.

The company was on time, professional and gave an in-depth status of the chimney.

It was fine. In the general proposal, the quote and it was like a lump some. And so we ask him to break it down, what does that include and what are the prices for those different efforts.

The service was okay. There was no additional charge because the chimneys were never used, so there was nothing to do. The price was okay.

This was my first Angie's List purchase, and it convinced me to continue my subscription and to explore other deals through the service. Scheduling was easy, and the work was done well. The guys who performed the service were polite and efficient. They left me with an overall evaluation of the chimney's "health" with detailed recommendations for future service. When my husband and I get ready to have more work done on our chimney, I plan to contact ARC.

They were efficient and cleaned up after themselves. Would call them again.

they arrived on time and performed the inspection, interior and exterior. There were issues with the fireplace, which I had suspected. The explanation of the issues was thorough and easy to understand. He was able to physically show me the issues which added to their credibility.

This is a great company and I am extremely happy with the work they did. I contacted them on Angie?s list and was able to get my questions answered and schedule an appointment in no time at all. About a week before my inspection was scheduled for, I was contacted by the company to ask if I wanted a sooner date because there had been a cancellation. My original date worked out better for me, but I was impressed that they called to offer me the appointment. For the initial inspection, I was given a two hour time window to expect the provider ( 8-10 am) and was pleasantly surprised when John Tisdale was at my door at 8 o?clock on the dot! When I opened the door, he introduced himself and handed me a business card, which is a level of professionalism that I have rarely encountered. He was very attentive as I was talking to him and I feel like he actually listened to me (again, rare!). He was very knowledgeable and he did a thorough inspection, which didn?t take long at all. He then sat down and explained to me what repairs were needed. Brandon and Conner came out for the appointment to do the repairs. Though my appointment was scheduled for 2 pm, they actually called me first thing that morning and asked if they could come out sooner. I was happy to have the work done early ! I talked to Brandon mostly, who explained he would be on the roof and Conner would be working inside and the work would take about an hour. They worked diligently and Brandon let me know when they were finished about an hour later. I was surprised at how quickly they were able to complete the repairs and when I went to my fireplace, I was surprised to see it looking so good! There is clearly a corporate culture of organization, professionalism, knowledge, attentiveness, and positivity that shines through this company on line, on the phone, and in person that really makes me as a customer feel that I got so much more than I was even hoping for. This company is unusually good, and I would use them again in a heartbeat or recommend them to anyone looking for a fireplace service! You?re cool and thankyou ARC!!!!!!!

ARC was great and will use again, if needed. Though the weather didn't cooperate on my initial scheduled service, it was easy re-scheduling. The technician, Chase, was very professional and timely. Prior to the visit, I realized that my HOA was responsible for the actual chimney, so he wasn't able to go down in there. He did, however, ensure that the fireplace from the inside was appropriately clean and safe to use.

Found the refractor plates in nred of replacing. And was given a reasonable price for repairs.

They were a little ahead of schedule. They cleaned the chimney and provided a safety inspection. Their safety inspection indicated two items they recommended fixing. I told them I wanted to get a second estimate. They were polite and professional.

The ARC chimney sweep person was nice and friendly and provided excellent service. He did an excellent job and there was no mess left behind. He advised that the fireplace had cracks and is a fire hazard and advised to had treated metal plates put in over the brick, which will be done.

After cleaning he gave me a report and told me the cracked firebrick shroud be replaced and the chimney cap should be replaced ata additional cost of $800.00. We declined that. Two weeks later they cam and installed a new back wall of 1/4" steel. We knew we needed to replace the crackedfore brick anyway. The cap will be done later.

They did a great job. We are pleased.

Job was performed based upon the '"scope of work" agreed with the vendor - i trust the contractor in the first place. As a customer I have no way of knowing whether the service was truly necessary necessary or what not. We are customers at the end with limited experience on what needs to be done and we trust the contractors. The Job was estimated in 1,000 $ with 3 1/2 hours work, it was instead completed in 1 hour and 15 minutes. The charge was excessive and I questioned the payment - the vendor wrote off 250 # which was appreciated but still considered to high to me. I won't use this service in the future and I will be much more diligent with my future purchases. Regards, Pietro mazzotti
