Unbelievable : punctual and only did what was needed...no scare tatics... fair and honest

Tech clearly was just trying to get us to buy new AC systems. He looked at 2 of our systems and just blabbed about how horrible they were. Once he realized we were not going to "play that game" he refused to finish the scheduled tune up job and had a childish meltdown.

Went great! Technician Joe Diaz did a great job in a short period of time!

James arrived on time and did a very thorough job of cleaning out our air ducts. He cleaned up after the job and put everything back where it was. The sanitizer he used made it smell very good afterwards. The machine he used actually scrubbed a lot of stuff out of the ducts.

Everything went great. They were prompt and punctual, not overly priced and the staff were very congenial. I'm thankful they came out so quick, my a.c. doesn't seem to be struggling now that it's clean.

The tech touched the air handlers coil and point the beeping leak gun and said: it’s a goner. Proceeded to give me 2 options. Replace the complete system, or replace the parts which it’s hard to find. None of the following was performed. Air conditioner tune-up includes Calibrating and leveling thermostat, inspecting filter, inspecting bearings for wear, inspecting condenser coil, monitoring operating pressures of refrigerant, inspecting safety devices for proper operation, monitoring volts and amps on fan motor, tightening all electrical connections, inspecting and testing contactor for burns and/or pits, inspecting electrical for exposed wiring, inspecting fan blades, monitoring compressor for proper amp draw, volt draw, and wiring connections

It was at night of course, I had come home to a hot house. I called Service Star because of their rating and the fact they list their hours of operation as 24/7. I was given an appointment time, but they were a bit late. In their defense this was the first really hot day of the new summer season in Florida, so all AC companies were fielding a bunch of calls. Overall it went great. The technician arrived, diagnosed and fixed the problem in just a few minutes - he was very professional and knowledgeable. He then looked over my system and gave me a quote on a new system. My system was clearly leaking Freon, so the service call bought me enough time to research and choose a replacement unit. I would have had Service Star do the new system, but they carry Rheem, and I did not want a Rheem unit.

A/C Tech diagnosed the problem and recharged the A/C. Very quick and friendly service.

We called back after the freon charge this company added to our four-year-new air condition system leaked out as a result of the company stealing the caps that covered the unit. The thermostat was also set every four hours to go to 80 degrees by this unprofessional company. We had to stay at a hotel for almost a week as they lied about trying to fix it. They broke it, almost. The coils were frozen up by this company as a result of causing the freon to leak out. Then company tried to sell us a new system. Then, we learned the company was not even HVAC Certified. They do not fix them, they sell them. They cause them to break to try to sell new systems. We had to hire someone that was HVAC Certified to replace our stolen caps, add freon the third time, but the correct way, replace the damaged coils that this company ruined. Now, in July 5, 2018, no more problems with our new 4-year new air conditioner/HVAC System. If you want it done correctly, make sure the company is HVAC Certified, at the HVAC website, and hire them through there. These people are not HVAC Experienced, nor do they have any experience except to cause your freon to leak out, and ruin your system to allow them to try to make you buy another unit from them, so they may break the new one, as well. Nothing wrong with sustem, just needed a basic freon charge, which could not be done by these people, correctly. They lack the credentials. Please, hire through the HVAC Website. DO NOT TRUST THESE THIEVES. They stole our caps, and theft by deception and services. One of the pictures shows our thermostat set to 68 degrees and only capable of 78-80 degrees temps and high humidity as a result of poor services. With Asthma, and Allergies, we had to stay at a hotel both times this dishonest company came. The first review was an A by us. This was only good until the freon leaked out since the unit was not covered with caps, since they were stolen. We hate thieves, and dishonest people. They are not HVAC Certified, and NEVER AGAIN WILL THEY BE HIRED, NOR TRUSTED. We hired about three times the last time was around June 16 2018.

Unthorough....finished service in less than 30 minutes. one week later, the coolant had leaked out of my system because the tech didn't reattach a cap properly. the next day, Also, noticed that the system wouldn't cool below 79 degrees. Tech had fouled up my thermostat. Last but not least, he caused my coil to freeze up. It cost me a new coil's labor. Tech gave me a long song and dance about how crummy my a.c. system was and that if he replaced my coil, if he could get one in less than four or five weeks, the new coil would cost $2000! Labor would be $600! Funny, my system was working just fine until he came out to do a routine service. As it stands, since he did something to sabotage my system, i had a friend replace the coil that was covered under warranty and charged me $400 to install. If anyone reads this, please DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY! You'll regret the day you invited them into your home.

Horrible - Tried to Sell us a Bill of Goods. Called them out to do a 21 point on our AC because we recently moved into the home. Told us we needed an entirely new AC without even looking at the compressor. Yes, we had some visible microbial growth and the coil is rusted a bit, but a second and third opinion revealed that we didn't even need the coils cleaned. Just some minor cleaning with no removal of parts. Second opinion tech showed us pictures of an actual dirty coil. Don't believe a word these guys say.

They were able to get my A/C up and running again. They were reasonably priced, fast and able to come out quickly on a Sunday.

I called back on Monday, Donnie came out that afternoon and the price was great, he was professional and pleasant. The installers came Tuesday. A friend was at the house as I had to work and he kept calling me with things to ask Donnie. Donnie never sounded irritated and always said you are the customer and we want you to be happy. The issue required the technician to come back after he left Tuesday and he was pleasant as well even though it was already late. This technician couldn't identify why the unit was registering the correct numbers (my friend identified this issue, I would never had know, they left and all seemed fine). The technician was coming back Wednesday morning ( I had to take a day off of work) but Donnie first had another technician come to the house that evening. They found the copper pipes or whatever goes under the house was the problem and they needed to install new pipes through the attic. They never showed any disrespect or tone that wasn't professional and made me feel like the customer did come first. It took a lot of time and someone else to keep pushing the issue (my friend did A/Cs in Texas so he knew things luckily). When they say it isn't really the A/C that fails it is the installation, this could have been one of those. Thanks Service Star for great service. Luckily it isn't hot out but I can't really test the system but we will!

Mike the technician was great. He was honest, knowledgeable and professional. I will definitely use them for my AC needs.

It kills all mold and fungus so I should never need to get my vents cleaned again. It was expensive but it was like getting your vents cleaned 3-4 times and this will last forever. I do have a little beef with them right now. They have ignored my request to come back out and look at the work once they completed it. They ignored my calls twice but I am on the schedule now. I am trying to cut people some slack because of the hurricane. They installed a Patriot air purifier. It kills all mold and bacteria. It is the equivalent to a hospital system but it is in your house. In general, they were very responsive and addressed my needs quickly but at the same time, they have not come back to fix something. I think they will because they are scheduled to. I thought the price was a little high but I don't really know what it cost retail. Just waiting for a follow up. ONce you want to get them back after install, it takes a while to get back to you.

The installer was very professional and got the job done in one day. He paid attention to detail and was very respectful of my property! I am very pleased.

Called for service maintenance and they found frozen coils and the intake area full of water and about to spill over. The AC unit was old so we decided to replace both since we did not want to have water overflow issues from the one upstairs causing structural damage to ceiling and hardwood floors.

They want to sell more product and not do the work and say thank you. Other than do the work we paid for. They came over to find some thing wrong with the system not to service the system. There is a communication problem with them and getting here on time. They do bait and switch on us.

The installation was smooth and quick. The technician picked up the unit in the morning and by early afternoon the air was cooling again. Today the technician called me back within a half hour. I explained the drain was clogged even though I used the vinegar to keep it clean. He asked if I had a shop vac and when I told him yes, he explained how to clear the clog myself. This saved me a service fee and took me about 10 minutes. Thanks for always being so helpful and today they put my interest ahead of them making money. Super company!

The technicians were responsive, prompt, professional, and kind. They came out in the evening and stayed until almost midnight replacing my system and making sure I was satisfied. I highly recommend this company.

It went great. I worked with Mike and he was more than helpful. I was always able to get in touch with him with any questions and he was honest and informative. I would definitely recommend Mike and Service Star for anyone's air conditioning service or installation.
