Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup

Within a few minutes of my call they called the tenants, gave them an appointment for the same day to have a technician work on the problem. Within a few minutes I received an email with the work order confirmation. The technician arrived 15 minutes before the scheduled appointment, diagnosed the problem then called me ( landlord) with a complete explanation and an estimate for my approval. Problem solved.

We needed the septic tank pumped. The first company gave me a bid, but their truck was in the shop. I got bids from 2 other companies and also Roto Rooter. Rote Rooter's estimate for pumping out the septic was $80 higher than the 3 other bids.

I spent too much on this project. Everything was very messy and I had to get someone else to do the re-tiling for me. The job cost a lot of money. I liked the fact that they came over, most of the other plumbers wouldn't return my calls. They returned my call. I did not like that they were very expensive and would hard sell. They wanted to sell me their extended service plan.

They quoted us about $2300. We didn?t use them because they were insanely expensive. So it seemed like a rip off. I didn?t trust them. They might have been good, but there was nothing I liked about them. I would never work with them.

The guy who I dealt with was very pleasant. I never used him, but he gave me some good advice. He told me that he could come out and charge me, but he couldn't help me and he put me on to the right people so that I could talk to them. He was reasonable, but I don't remember the quote. I need to use him as I've got some problems.

Bruce and Mike were great. On time, friendly and helpful. I had already found and dug up the access and they said that was a good idea as they would have had to charge me extra for that. It would have been difficult for them to find it. They did a good job of emptying and cleaning the tank of sludge and told me where to get a better manhole cover than the one that was there. I will use them again when my septic needs cleaning.

I recommend them to others and when you call they will come out quickly.

A leak developed under my kitchen sink. I had used roto rooter a few times before and they always got the job done, so I called again. Steve and Tim, two extremely nice guys, showed up in about an hour and a half. They determined that the problem was the basket strainer. I never knew that the basket strainer could cause a leak. They replaced the basket strainer and the tail piece and secured it with plumber's putty. The leak has stopped and everything works fine. The work came with a one year guarantee. I am very pleased with the outcome.

I called roto rooter at about 10 A.M. The plumber arrived at about 1 P.M. He analyzed the problem and estimated that it would cost about $300.00 + parts. It may be more once he opened up the wall. I gave him the go-ahead. When the wall was opened, it was obvious that the pipes had been leaking behind the wall for some time before it was discovered. The shower wall contained mold and was in bad shape. The work was completed in about 3 hours. The leaks were repaired successfully. The cost for the leak repair was $290.00, clearing the drain was $100.00, the replacement pipes cost $18.20 and the pipeshield cost $53.45. The work was gguaranteed was 6 months. I now have to have the drywall repaired.

When the technician came out to look at the work that I needed to have done, he informed me that they in fact do not do that type of work. The man that came out was very professoinal however I was not impressed with the woman that answered the phone.

They always send out wonderful people. They couldn't have been better and they guarantee their service! They also left me a chemical to use as well. I would recommend them very highly!

Called Roto-Rooter, Dave W. who came out proptly and worked about an hour pulling the Wash Cloth out of the drain....

Water was backing up in the sinks. While they came a little late due to prior jobs taking longer than expected. They came snaked the house from top to bottom and fixed our problem. Very courteous service tech.

Quick response. Good and efficient service. Left us with a bottle of enzyme maintenance unclogged.

I called at 4:30pm on a Sunday because it was an emergency and the repair person didn't get to my home until 7:40pm. He said that he was dispatched at 7:00pm. The dispatcher wouldn't give me any idea as to what the service call itself would cost and they just seemed like they didn't want to answer any questions. The work itself took two hours to finish. I thought the work was acceptable but their customer service was lacking. I paid $116 for parts and the rest was labor. The technician was nice but I was not happy with the dispatchers and the cost. I just think the pricing was outrageous! I would rather put my renters in a hotel room for a night than to call this place on a Sunday again! I felt like I was ripped off. I waited a few hours and I think they waited just so that they could charge me more.

Pete (#813) showed up and did the work. Took him approx. 20 minutes to do the work. He realized he could not shut off the cold line into the hot water heater, so he asked me where the meter was. The communication between us was short and he mumbled so I had trouble understanding him. After we got the location of the water meter (not electric as I thought he had said) straightened out, he shut off the water from the street. I presented a coupon to him before we got into the estimate and he quickly and rudely informed me that he would not do the job for $70.00. unaware of the Rooter job book,(not mentioned when I made the appointment originally) he showed me the flat rate pricing for the job in the binder. Because this was an "easy job", he would give me $75.00 discount. Pete seemed in a hurry, acted like this was just another job, and was disrespectful to me. Called Rooter afterward. Spoke with customer service. They apologized and sent me another coupon. Flat rate = 300.00 hr?

The plumber from Roto-Rooter came out and fixed the clogged drain relatively easy. He waited until he was finished to give me the price. He had a lot of problems accepting my credit card information. He ran it once and said it did not go through, but did not offer to give me the paperwork from the first transaction back. After he left, he called and said the numbers on my credit card weren't readable and he needed them again. Also, he gave me a quote of $300.00 to replace the inside parts on the toilet tank. After I said that was too much, he tried to negotiate the price. I absolutely would not recommend to anyone.

Our drains have been running slowly (toilet bubbles when the washing machine is in use, drains run slowly, repeated flushing, etc.), so I suspected a vent problem. The tech said I would need to unclog each individual drain (one toilet would be $135 and we have two, plus showers and sinks). He told me one thing in person (that I needed to have each drain cleared, he NEVER mentioned my suspected vent issue) and he told my husband another thing when he talked to him on the phone (We have a vent issue, among other things). I found the technician condescending, and I couldn't help feeling like he was trying to rip us off. He left in a huff after I said we would not be using his services today because I'd like to get a second opinion. He was not especially rude, but I would not rate this experience as pleasurable. I will be calling another company tomorrow for a second opinion, and I will not use Roto-Rooter's services again.

Was very disappointed in the promptness of arriving for the appt. I know emergencies happen and sometimes work details run late, but here's a timeline of our experience: - called at 7am on a Thur. Received an appt. for between 5p and 7p that evening. Fine so far. - At 8p, I called to see what's going on. Tech is stuck at a job, will be another hour. - At 9:30p, I again called to see what's going on. They didn't know - had to call tech and call me back. - 10p they called me back - they said they had to reschedule for the next day (Fri) 5p to 7p. - 8p Friday, I called to see what the status was as they missed their window again. This time they didn't fool around - they said they had to cancel as the job before mine is again running long. Now they'll come at 8:30a Sat morning (they gave me an exact time). - 10a Saturday - called to see why he's not there yet. Arrived 10:45a. The guy that came was very professional and fixed our problems quickly albeit late.

The drain in the kid's bathroom was plugged and sink was slow. The first estimate was over $300 to unclog the sink and bathtub. I told them only to work on the bathtub, hoping it would take care of the sink too. I saved more than $100, because it took care of both problems. The workers were courteous and efficient. Still felt it was a high price for less than 20 minutes work.

It was a good service. He was prompt and efficient.

They could only due so much due to the main sewer drain being owned by the county. They stuck to the estimate.

MY OVERALL OPINION WAS THAT THEY WERE FANTASTIC. THEY WERE VERY CONSIDERATE. IT WAS A HOLIDAY, AND THEY STILL CAME. THEY MADE SURE THEY GOT SOMEONE ELSE. THEY SENT A TRUCK AT SIX, AND I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND ANYONE BUT THEM.
