Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Water Cleanup

I scheduled appointment on Saturday, August 15 for Tuesday, August 18, 1-5pm. At 3pm phone call stating running 2.30 hours late. At 6:40pm another phone call stating that they did not have a tech in the area and did not know when he would arrive and was I willing to wait. I took 1/2 day off of work, thought setting an appointment a couple days prior was fair only to find out they had no tech to fix the problem. The lady stated they would get someone to me but did not know when. I cancelled. Will never use Roto-Rooter for anything.

Took a month to correct problem and fix the main line.

They came out quickly and were very polite. When they said they would come the next day to check things, they did. They were fantastic.

on it and It went very well, Pete assessed the situation quickly. He explained the possible extra cost that might be incurred if the flex hose didn't work. He quickly went to work and replaced the hose after sawing off a bit of the PVC pipe. Tightened it up and tested the now hose for any leaks. Problem solved. a personable technician that I would recommend to anyone.

It was good. It was professional. It was a good experience. The guy was polite. He was on time. They communicated very well. He cleaned up after himself. The cost was very expensive but I know that plumbing is expensive. I would say that if you have an emergency problem, that would be the place to go because they are quick at dispatching people. I even got a call from someone in the company asking if I had any water damage and asking how they could assist with that. They are very responsive and interested in possible problems. They gave me not only a window but they would call me when the plumber was on the way so I was impressed. I know that they are a big company and they have an employee to do that.

I called the number this morning and they said they would pass it on-hopefully to get service to me by this afternoon. Mike called me shortly after and said he was ten minutes away-would it be convenient for us if he came now. I have a household of company coming to visit, a sink load and a half of dirty dishes and a stopped up guest bath!! So now was perfect! He was there within 10 minutes of his call. He checked the drains, explained to me how to tell where the blockage was, also told me he would take care of the kitchen drain first-then check the next one-just in case it was the same blockage (I was very doubtful that it was). He went onto the roof after explaining to me what should happen and what to expect and very soon after the yuck water was clearing very quickly. He came back down, checked the drain and the flow, then checked the bathtub drain and it was clear. I love using this service, they are so very nice, take time to answer my questions and give me tips about what may help next time or what not to use (chemicals in old pipes!). Mike was very patient, answering questions from my Mother (her memory is failing so she tends to repeat) and he really made both our days by getting us back on track. Even Mom said how nice he was and how reasonable the price was for such fast service. I definitely recommend him and will call if I need them again!! Thanks so much!!

Peter Lewis was my technician. He was knowledgeable, professional and made great recommendations to prevent future problems/ He used an auger to unclog the line in less than 5 minutes. The price point was steep for my budget but he was wiling to work with me and made an adjustment that was a win-win for everyone. Job Well Done!

We called at noon today and we received two calls throughout the day saying they were behind and a service person would be here soon. The guy arrived around 6:30 pm and then said the policy of Roto Rooter is they cannot go on the roof to clear the main access drain!!!!! When we called them we told them the clog was in the laundry room and the access was on the roof. This company is absolutely terrible.

Although the process took most of the day, the work seemed to go smoothly. The technician who diagnosed the problem responded quickly on the day he arrived; within the first two hours of the four hour window. This being said, I had to reschedule from the day before, as they were unable to make it to my house within the original window they set, so the better part of two days was spent waiting. The tech was pleasant, professional and explained the inspection process and the results of same. The technician who completed the repairs arrived later than expected, but began work promptly and was also pleasant, professional and explained the repairs that were needed. He provided his professional opinion regarding the cause of the break in the line which I found useful to hopefully prevent further issues. The repairs were completed after he received clearance from the 611 people who approved him to dig. He kept me apprised of the progress of the repairs which was greatly appreciated. It appears that all is well with the lines currently. The tech cleaned up as much of the mess that was possible for him to clean up and provided information in case I wanted to write a review.

First technician was unaware of our counties using caps on sewers and thought the sewer was full of waste and he couldn't do anything to help me so he left. But after county showed me the cap wasn't a problem, I called again and got a second technician who did an excellent job. Ran a camara through the pipe to show me how clean it was and advised me on the use of a pipe protector (sold by Roto-rooter) to help prevent future problems.

Sent a message to this company informing them we were having a plumbing issue, never received a response. Will not use in the future. I called Emerald Plumbing and they were out the next day! I do not understand how companies with poor customer service stay in business.

The technical was very capable. He was able to locate the buried clean out port to my sewer connection beside the house and used the snake tool to clear roots from the line.

The tech arrived in the middle of the time window they provided, and called ahead to let me know he was coming. He took the time to discuss what I wanted done, and why, and then set up his equipment. He explained to me what he was doing, as he went, confirming some of my concerns. He then used his video camera to show me the pipes and explained the concerns I should have with the existing original cast iron pipes. He cleaned up his equipment as he worked and left my home as clean as it had been before he came. He showed me where a repair had been done at some time, and found the access that had been missed when that repair was done. I requested an estimate for Roto-Rooter to correct the poor repair, which he provided. I was very satisfied with the work and would recommend this company to anyone with a drain problem.

After crawling under the house numerous times to patch a piece of copper tubing that had, over the years, developed several holes, I called Roto-Rooter. There were some communication problems to begin with. I told them the opening to the crawl space was small, but they sent two technicians who had large shoulders. On the third try, a slender worker showed up. I showed Richard a photo I had taken of the area to be fixed. Instead of just replacing the 6-inch piece of pipe, I asked him to redo the whole area, which included connections to two toilets, two sinks, and out the front of the house (two feet away) to a hose connector. He went under the house, double checked what he needed, and got to work, finishing in about an hour. Richard was knowledgable, courteous, and proficient. He was also patient with me with all my questions about new types of pipe, connectors, concrete patch material, and other things that amateur handymen want to know about! He had quoted me the price ahead of time and it seemed a little high, but I guess for what I asked of him, it turned out ok.

On a friday night at our retail store, our main drain line clogged, leading to flooding on our floor. We called roto-rooter and they showed up within 2 hours of me calling them. I couldn't get a call back from anyone else for that long. They were able to completely clear the drain and get it working quickly and at a reasonable price. I was impressed with how prompt they were and the reasonable price they charged for late night service. I would definitely use them again.

Michael Chastain was the employee that came to our home and unstopped our sink, at which time he found a leak, which another company caused. He repaired the leak and installed a new basket stainer in the sink. It works great now. Also, he removed an old existing water filter from under the sink and replumbed the system. When he got done, everything works great and he cleaned up after himself.

Mike was extremely helpful, knowledgable and paid great attention to details. He helped us diagnose an issue with a fence installation that crushed our pipe within minutes of arriving at our home. We would call him again any time we have an issue.

The service was fantastic. I called and Julio came out and examined the issue, set up appointment for the next day. Electrician was called out to flag all the electric wires under ground the next morning. Caution tape was placed in the area. Permits were taken care of thru Roto-Rooter. Rick & Larry, the techs were digging out the pipe by hand. Replaced the old pipe in one day! Waiting on final inspector! The job was completed with quality materials. Definitely would call them again! Great company! Life time warranty too!

We discovered the clog early in the evening, after the bathroom flooded. I removed the toilet where I thought the leak was but couldn't get a "snake" down far enough to clear it. I called Roto Rooter, based on their reputation. I'd never used them before. As it was the evening, they were not able to get anyone there until almost 10:30pm. When the technician, Michael Chastain, arrived he was VERY professional and courteous. He asked questions to help determine what had happened and confirmed the clog was in the main line. He was able to use his equipment to release the clog and then ran a camera through the lines. He was detailed in his explanations of what was being shown. He showed me where potential issues may arise and what preventative measures we could take. Michael also helped to explain what might cause the clogs and how the toilet we have, might be contributing it. ( a low flow version) He explained that as it is a low flow, it might not have enough force to move waste products through the line completely. He advised we monitor it and contact him if anything occurs in the near future. Overall, Micheal gave me a great education on how the drainage system works, helped to locate our "cleanout" opening in the yard, and did not try to sell me something that wasn't needed. He advised me on what could be done if the problem persisted as well. I have never had a technician as thorough on the job, nor one that took the time to educate me on how things work. It was late, and he didn't have to do that. But it was very helpful. In the future, there is only one person or one company I'd call for plumbing problems.

After an hour and 1/2 of using the HUGE clog buster in the sewer line from house to road we got the major clog fixed, seems I have some pipe damage close to the road from a huge tree and roots causing me issues. We talked about having a camera job done on the pipe to see what the damage is but the cost was a bit much to have done and I would still need to have the yard dug up and pipe fixed so I have a 6 month period roto-rooter will come back up needed and bust thru those roots so it is a wait and see how long I can delay the big spend to have that work done, have heard it could run a couple thousand bucks so saving my pennies for that day now.

I called the local Roto-Rooter number on a Sunday morning around 9 a.m. and was met by a friendly, helpful person on the phone. I explained my emergency with bathroom pipes backing up in a house we recently purchased. The person on the phone asked a few questions, told me I could expect someone in the next two hours, and explained that I would receive a call when the plumber was on the way to my house. In 15 minutes I received a call saying that he was coming. He arrived shortly after that phone call. The plumber assessed the situation and kept me informed as he did the necessary repairs. In less than 30 minutes he had the job done. I was able to pay by credit card. He stayed for a few minutes and talked with me about some things he had learned over the years about keeping drains flowing. He took time to explain the mechanics behind what he was saying. He said the work he did was guaranteed for six months. He shook my hand, wished me well in my new house, and he was off. The whole experience from the time of my first call until the plumber left the house was under an hour and fifteen minutes.

Around 6:30pm our wash machine was draining for a rinse cycle and we heard a loud gurgle noise in our kitchen, foul odor and our second bathroom. Checking the bathroom I noticed water coming out of the floor from under the toilet and in our bath tub. My husband ran to shut off the wash machine to stop the flood of water. We do not have a septic tank but the thought of a back up or pipe problem was definitely a huge worry. Called Roto Rooter, was polite, and was told that they would have someone come out between now and 9pm. I asked if there was a charge for after hours and was told they do not charge, every call to them is regular hours. Of course we were happy about that, took a little stress off.. About 8pm I received a call that they were running behind and had extended my call up to 11 pm. Around 10 pm I was contacted that they were on the way. They showed up and were very polite, took time to explain as he ran water and flushed toilets. After about 10 -15 min of running and flushing there was no sign of water and was told that there could of been a blockage that cleared, years of use, grease and what not being pushed down. He than explained that every so often we could use septic tank cleaner in all of our drains and toilets and that it would help to break down anything adhering to the sides our pipes. He also said that Roto Rooter sold it and to not have to worry about forgetting it next time I went to the store I was glad to purchase it from him. He gave us his card and said to call with any problems and question we may have. We were only charged for the product we purchased, there was no charge for him coming out and checking the plumbing.

Came in morning was suppose to come last night but they got backed up( no pun intended) chuck came at 9 am and did the job fast and professional!

I had a blockage in my main drain. I had this problem before and it was definitely not a DIY project. The tech arrived on time and spent nearly 3 hours working on the drain. He worked mainly from the outside on a hot day. He explained the process, demonstrated the location of the problem and, using a high def camera, showed me the before and after condition of my drain. This tech was professional and hard working.
