Rinaldi's Air Conditioning Service

The technician tried to rip me off. He drew a quick conclusion on the root cause: a broken motor.He even showed that fan blades were not able to spin using forces. He provided two options: $800 to replace the motor only or around $10K to replace the A/C unit. After discussion on the pricing of various new A/C models, I was not sure if I should trust him.I did little research on the internet and the actual cost seems to be around 7k. I called another company and it turned out to be a minor issue: the capacitor is broke NOT the motor. I am glad that I did not make a quick decision just because of the hot weather. I am not saying that all people in the whole Rinaldi company is like that. But be careful at least.

James did a great job explaining what he was doing, identifying the problem, identifying the parts needing replacement, and the consequences of waiting to perform the repairs identified. I had him also provide a quote for a new system, so I could make an informed decision on a new system versus repairing the existing. James represented his company in a very professional manner. I proceeded with repairs that were performed by Jimmie the following day. Jimmie was also very professional and did a great job. Upon completion of the repairs, Jimmie verified the system was functioning correctly. The company itself was responsive to my needs and schedule. I will use Rinaldi's Air Conditioning again.

The coolant refill was expensive. I felt ripped off due to the price, since they were basically saying that the refill would not fix the problem. I do believe they were honest about what they thought the problem was and I do believe they were charging me their correct fees. I just felt the prices were way too expensive. The AC has been running for 2 months. I had the system checked recently and the coolant has not leaked, or at least has not leaked a noticeable amount.

They did a great job installing the unit and hauling the old one. Since the install in May of 2010. They have been really good about contacting me to do the free annual maintenance that is required to keep the warranty. The Amana unit has a lifetime warranty on the compressor. I have had a great experience so far with the unit, already made a big impact on our electricity bills. Upfront I did have to do some negotiating on the price for Rinaldi to be competitive but they really did a good job with the install and follow-up service. I would definitely use them again.

I had a bad leak from my air handler, so I called Rinaldi and they came the next day. The tech found that the air handler was tilting back slightly on its base so he suggested having it removed and reinstalled. I had them do the work the following week. They removed the air handler, replaced the intake plenum (that was soaked due to the leak), replaced the wooden board the A/H rests on, replaced and leveled the A/H, and rebuilt part of the outlet plenum. Both jobs took about 13 man hours, so I think the price was reasonable. The techs (Matt or Mike and Jeremy, IIRC) did a good job and cleaned up after themselves.I did have some trouble scheduling the repair because they were having issues with a new e-mail system. But a phone call took care of it.

They found stuff that a previous contractor had missed. They gave us tips on extending the life of our system.

Workmen were prompt, friendly and helpful. Thought the work was a bit pricey, but this was an emergency repair that went into weekend. No complaints otherwise.

They got rid of the problem and didn't over charge. I used a 10% coupon they offered.

Steve came out to give me an estimate and that's where the and quot;fairy taleand quot; started. He took his time and explained EVERYTHING to me so that when he left I felt like I knew a lot about how my AC/Heating system was supposed to work. I had 3 other estimates but none came close to the quality of Rinaldis. One company came close in price but was lacking in profssionalism. Once I said and quot;yesand quot; and hired this company, we scheduled the work day and the job was done! I can't remember the 2 guys who were here, but they were wonderful and did a super job, my entire system was replaced and two years later it's still running perfectly without any problems. I have a bi-annual service check just to make sure all is well and for peace of mind. Great customer service, wonderful follow through, SUPER professionalism. I would recommend Rinaldis to anyone. Call for an estimate, you'll see what I mean.

They are good, professional, on time, their prices are competitive and their workmanship is over and beyond the rest of the field. It is the little things that they do that satisfy the customer. If you ever need air conditioning service, this is the company you want to go with. They are community oriented. They do fund raisers for Saint Judes Hospital. They do so much for the customer and for the community. They were super people. They got us up and running in no time.

They were very professional at the time. They also followed up with me. They were also very responsive when it came to getting back to me on any information requested. I would have used them if they were not as expensive.

I went with Rinaldi's through home depot. Since The Home Depot uses them for their A/C installs, I was very confident Rinaldi's was going to do a good job. I am very pleased with the work they performed. They were professional and their workmanship is very good.

Rinaldi's are very professional. They come out and do their job and leave.

Overall they are professional but hard sellers. The estimates I received were very detailed. Very detailed. I was given the impression that the services that were detailed on their estimate were above and beyond what the other companies would do. However, I found that not to be true. For example, their estimate on a new heat pump for the house detailed numerous steps that they would take (and I was told their competitors would not) to make the installation top notch. However, upon further questioning of the other companies I was told that most of what Rinaldi listed is standard installation practice. Some of the installation steps listed are absolutely required by the manufacturer in order for a warranty to be valid. Those installation steps were not listed on the other estimates but they were on Rinaldi's giving the impression of a much more thorough and detailed installation. I thought that if I went with this company I would truly get top service at very top dollar but at the same time their warranty is the same as the others so why bother paying the extra money. I may be wrong in my impressions but this is what I thought. Get other estimates.

It was a stress free visit and was completed in a timely manner.

They were super, super, super. They were wonderful to work with. Every time we've called them they came right back out. I'd absolutely refer them to others. The reason I went with them is because of the advertising on the radio of all the charity work their company does. They went above and beyond to get rebates for us. They were super responsive, right out in nothing flat.

They have done work for me at my home and I like this company, but I was able to get someone to do this particular job for about 30% of what Rinaldi's quoted me.

No complaints, they always do a great job and are very responsive. If you call with questions about the service; I have found this company to be very customer focused. Although they are not the cheapest, I highly recommend Rinaldi if want quality and prompt service for your residential unit. Sincerely, Rick

A/C unit stopped cooling. Called RINALDI'S based on a friend's recommendation PLUS the reviews here on Angie's list. They had one of ther tech guys at my home within the hour from my call. He was polite and professional. Gave the option of a repair or replace the unit. We already knew that unit was going to need replacement. Tech provided temporary fix that at least kept air moving through the system.Tech was able to give me a quote on the spot, and in looking at old system, pointed out several errors of installation/construction from the previous unit. All of these were know to us, but 3 other companies either never found the problems, or they didn't want to mess with fixing them, so they didn't point them out to us. Two of the problems were causing major problems with our electric bill, and one problem was responsible for out unit shutting down all the time. When the air handler for our unit was unavailable, they upgraded us to a better unit at no additional cost so that we could have air conditioning to sleep in that night. Installation was very professional. No complaints at all - would HIGHLY recommend this company.

They didn't charge anything because the air conditioner was under warranty. They did a good job. I have been using them for 10 years and I am very satisfied with them. They are reliable, friendly, and reasonable. I would use them again in the future too.

It was a free estimate. The guy was courteous and knowledgeable. He was not a salesman, but he was trying to convince me. He sounded insincere to me. I did not like that. I am sure he was getting a commission for the job. I ended up going with another company. I will consider this company for a future quote.
