+ -1 moreThe initial man that came out was really nice, seemed very professional and efficient. He gave us the quote and we were happy with it. When they came to install it was a black toilet, which is not what we wanted at all. From that point forward they were very unresponsive. We had to talk to a supervisor or manager, and they seemed like they were not happy about being told that the job was not done correctly. They ended up coming out and taking out the toilet. Said it would be two or three weeks before any toilet would be put in its place. That was not acceptable, so we went to another plumber to have them help us.
Description of Work: They looked at the bathroom and thought that we could use a more efficient toilet that would be a color match to what we had before.

+ -1 moreHe came out to fix the toiled and tried to sell me a water system without even looking at what he was supposed to do. I would'nt have even been upset with that except he didn’t fix what he came out to fix. His supervisor had to come back and fix it. However, his supervisor didn’t apologize for him trying to sell me a system before he fixed what he came to fix. They were prompt and came out right away and I was very impressed with that.

Description of Work: We thought we had a small leak originating from the seal under the toilet in one of our bathrooms. However, Bob from Rainaldi Plumbing accessed the problem quickly, and discovered the leak was originating elsewhere. He was not only very efficient and competent in finding and fixing the problem, but he was also very pleasant and and personable.

+ 0 moreThe company installer was very nice and informative. He provided me with the information I needed about the new hybrid water heaters and gave me a verbal estimate. After I made a decision he went back to his office to get the new water heater and then he took the old one out and completed the installation. Because I agreed to the extended warranty , he also installed a new kitchen faucet that I needed to install at no additional cost. But I was not allowed to redeem the the 50.00 $ off coupon from the Angie's List magazine. That was a little disappointing. I was also surprised that he did not produce a written estimate. Given the fact that these hybrid water heaters are significantly more expensive it would have been nice to know exactly the cost of every aspect of the work done. But overall it was a good experience and the installer also disposed of the old water heater. He was very polite and professional and promised to come back if I had any problems or questions.
Description of Work: My old water heater needed to be replaced after 22 years of service. Also I needed to install a new kitchen faucet. Both were done at the same time. .

+ -1 moreCalled another large company when I first discovered a leak in my shower wall. I had forgotten that I had used Rainaldi in the past. To make a long story short the other large company prioritized my leak poorly and was taking hours to get there. I remembered that I had called Rainaldi the last time and decided to call them again. They said they would be at my house in a half hour and they were. In the meantime I called the other “Happy” plumbing company and told them that I changed my mind since they had already taken over 4 hours to get to me. The first tech to come out from Rainaldi was very sharp. I realized that I was due for a total house re-piping. I had had a leak a year before in another part of my house. He stopped the leak and applied the charge to the cost of my re-pipe that we scheduled for the following week. The following week a team of 2 came right on time and did the whole house in about 10 hours. They were good guys and worked diligently throughout the day. The following week a drywall team came out and fixed the drywall they have to cut for feeding thenew pipe through the walls. It has been 6 months and I have no leaks. The manufacturer’s warranty is 25 years on their pipe and the price was competitive. I would use this company again.

+ 0 moreStephen was a great plumber. Very knowledgeable. He found out that our septic was backed up which was causing everything else to back up. (We have been told once before that our drainfield was having problems but we chose to ignore it hoping it was just a bad diagnosis.) He made it possible for us to use our water until the Septic system guys come. He recommended a couple of people who they have worked with that are both cost effective and good quality. We are now waiting for the septic system people to come and see what they have to say.....
Description of Work: I called this morning at 8am to have someone clean our line out because all our plumbing was backed up. We had Stephen from Rinaldi here by 8:45!!!! He quickly assessed the situation and got to work. Can't get better service than that!!

+ -1 moreI have used Rainaldi twice in the last month and I will never call anybody else! The first issue was with a leak under my kitchen sink. They had someone here within an hour. Gil was extremely clean and professional and he even took the time to befriend my two Springer Spaniels so they would be comfortable with him in the house. He diagnosed the problem, explained the problem to me and told me how he was going to fix it. He was missing one part that was needed, so he told me he was going to drive back to the shop and return right away. HE DID! He was gone less than 45 minutes, returned and fixed the problem promptly. He even replaced an extra piece that he said would likely cause me problems in the near future - and he didn't charge me for that piece. Everything worked perfectly. My most recent event was a gushing leak coming from under ground. I called Rainaldi again and they sent my friend Gil back to me! He remembered us well, (and my dogs remembered him). He had to dig until he found the source of the leak, but diagnosed a tree root that had put pressure on a pipe and cracked it. He cut the tree root and replaced the pipe - all within 90 minutes. I continue to be a HUGE fan of Rainaldi.
Description of Work: Repaired a leaky pipe under my kitchen sink AND cut out a chunk of tree root that had cracked an underground pipe, and replaced that as well.

+ -1 moreOur kitchen faucet started to leak and needed a replacement job. Called few companies, Rainaldi Plumbing was the one with lowest flate rate and they were able to response immediately. They also took a $20 Angieslist discount. The cost was USD 210, still very pricey to replace a faucet. The technician was very polite, competent, and punctual. He also gives tips on how to use the faucet and get free replacement from the manufacturer. Recommended. I give it an overall B because of the price.

+ 0 moreThere was water in the bottom of my dishwasher that would not drain and my garbage disposal would not run. The plumber examined the garbage disposal and determined it was leaking so it had to be replaced. He replaced it and tested it and then test ran the dishwasher. Everything worked well. I then asked him to check the bathtub drain. It was running slow so he snaked it and then it was fine.
Description of Work: The garbage disposal was replaced and a bathroom tub drain was snaked and cleared.

The work was completed on time and to specifications and the mess was cleaned up adequately. Great job! I would definitely hire Rainaldi and Gil again.
Description of Work: I had several smaller plumbing repairs, water filters replaced, toilet installs and a water softner installed at my new condo. Also, a potential leaky hose bib was examined and no leaks discovered.

Description of Work: Aaron, from Rainaldi, had to go into an outside spigot that had been leaking. I'd tried several times, using various methods to fix it, but to no avail. He gave me a price and then when he found out what he really had to do it ended up taking him several hours of hard work on a 90+ degree day. Of course, I was figuring it was now going to cost me a whole lot more. It did not. He called Chris, his supervisor, who honored the first price I was given. I'd used Rainaldi before and knew they were a stand-up company and was happy to find out they still are. Aaron originally thought it would take him an hour. Honestly, he spent almost four hours fixing it and he is coming back one more time (at no additional charge) to smooth out the wall and apply cement over the foam he put in that would take a day to settle. From the first minute of our acquaintance he was a gentleman, forthright, took plenty of time to give me options even though in the end we found out a 13 year old pipe jinxed him leaving us with only one option. ***This is an updated review. There was a problem after Aaron left...no water pressure from the kitchen faucet. I called Chris, his supervisor, whom I've dealt with before and as usual, he made sure to follow-up and had Aaron over almost immediately. It turned out there was some sand in the kitchen hose which Aaron blew out. Now, it's back working perfectly again. Chris asked why I'd chosen them in the first place and I told him that I knew how community-oriented his company is and that he had helped me in the past when there was a question. He absolutely cares and makes sure you know how much he appreciates you as a customer.

+ -1 moreHe really did a good job. H came out and fixed the plumbing problem I had. The man did not have one small part and he had to make an extra part with no extra charge. I was very pleased with that. He had to tear out the ceiling and do several things and also upstairs bathroom that ran to our kitchen ceiling downstairs. He tore out the ceiling and repaired the leak. He was very careful about the mess that he made. Overall I was very happy with his work. I was unhappy with the tearing of the ceiling of course but they couldn’t be out. I would recommend him to anyone. He was very professional, very knowledgeable. He walked in looked at the problem and said that he knew what the problem is. He checked it out and said what it was. He was an older gentleman and seemed to be very knowledgeable. He was very careful about the mess that he made and I had no complaints whatsoever about him.
Description of Work: I used Rainaldi Plumbing in January this year for plumbing. He fixed the plumbing leak under the water source bathroom upstairs that had come down through the ceiling in the kitchen.

+ 0 moreI called Rainaldi Plumbing and they came out the same day. After about 30 to 45 minutes of analyzing, it was determined that it was a septic issue and not sewer. They were not able to help me but referred me to someone who they knew could handle the problem.
Description of Work: I called Rainaldi Plumbing in regards to a Septic/sewer issue. I had retained Rainaldi plumbing previously in regards to my plumbing and had been very impressed with the quality of service provided. They were just (as before) prompt, professional and helpful. After review of my problem, they determined it was out of their expertise. Although, they perform sewer work; my problem was septic related.They could have just left and said "sorry, we can"t help you" but they took the time to inform me of my options and refer me to another company (actually, they gave me two names) that they felt confident that could handle my septic issue. I am grateful for this type of company that is honest in what they can and cannot accomplish and grateful that they were aware of and able to point me in the direction of a reputable company to resolve my issue.

+ 0 moreI picked them cause they were close by and no travel charge, allegedly, Charged $150 for one drain and finished in 2 minutes. Additional drains would be $90 each. Their actual hourly rate cued have been $600/ hour. Big mistake! I will never call again and warn everyone I can.
Description of Work: One drain clogged and I wanted couple more snacked. Price outrageous so only one tub drain was done.

+ -1 moreWe had gotten an estimate from them and then ultimately decided to have them do the work. We had gotten four estimates and they actually ended up being the lowest price. The highest bid we got was almost $6,000 for the same job. They did a really good job. We had never had that done before. They were very nice people and they were very prompt. They didn't goof around or drag their feet. The one thing that seemed a little odd even though everything was included in the replumb, we had to have an inspector come out to inspect the work. After the inspector signed off, they came back to patch the holes and redo the texture. We assumed they would be there when the inspector got there and they would take care of scheduling the drywall work. They actually gave us a number and said the inspector would be out on a certain day and we needed to call that number to find out so somebody could be home. The drywall repair folks actually contacted us directly to schedule. It felt a little odd that we had to be the go-between in that. The work was great and the drywall people were wonderful. We are actually having them come back and do some other work for us. It actually worked out quite well. They were very pleasant and prompt. We even talked to the owner when we had one small problem and he sent somebody out right away to work on it. We did have to deal with some little things afterwards. We would use them again.
Description of Work: We used Rainaldi Plumbing to replumb our house. It is a 2,000 square foot 3 bedroom/2 bath 1-story home.

I said that sounded expensive (can' t remember the exact amount -- think it was $325), that there was not much to do ( I figured half an hour). He proceeded to list out a number of tasks that sounded extensive so I reluctantly agreed and went back in the house.15 minutes later he came back, said he was done. Complained about the price for the effort, so he suggested I call the office while he was there. Called office and talked through it -- that as a CPA I understood costs, traveling time overhead, need to make a profit, etc but for the services was excessive. They finally dropped to $175 which I paid. Suggested to them I'd have been happy with $125 but they refused to make me happy.The tech was professional about it all. My big beef was exorbitant starting price for 15 minutes of work -- even if he did have to travel - and particularly after I questioned the amount of time, effort and materials it'd tae. BTW, he sat in my street for another 30 minutes after he finished. Must not 've been a busy day at Rainaldi. but figure I didn't need to pay for his being idle.
Description of Work: Had a water leak on the in-bound pipe feeding the water heater.

+ -1 moreBoth the plumbing crew and the crew Rainaldi's use for fixing all the holes were very professional. The plumbers lost some time upfront searching for the main line into the house (which I appreciated because it saved me $500 if they couldn't have found it and would have had to run a new line into the house from the street). Of course any type of construction is messy, but the guys cleaned up well (remember they are not merry maids) afterwards. I had 4 quotes for the work. They weren't the cheapest of the quotes , but I'm a true believer in you get what you pay for in the end. Also you need to make sure you are comparing apples to apples. Some contractors didn't quote fixing the holes after the repipe (which I would recommend you pay for instead of doing yourself) and others didn't mention anything about permits from the City (run away if they are adverse to getting permits). The crew ran into some problems running some of the piping (because of the construction not because they couldn't do it) so it took longer than they estimated, but what they quoted me is what I paid (no surprises).
Description of Work: Re-pipe of entire home from main coming into the house. Installed shut-off valves under all faucets, toilets etc. New hose BIBs outside, installed customer provided hot water tank, shower valves and the next day (after inspector came) the crew came to fix all holes and add texture back to the walls and ceiling.
