Our Trane heat pump quit working during a hot spell in August 2010. Service person came out on a Sunday at their emergency rates to check on our heat pump. They found that it was low on refrigerant and that we might have a leak. Said that they could do a leak test, but that it was probably a slow leak since we hadn't had any trouble with for five years. Refilled the refrigerant and suggested that we replace it if anything happened to it again. Provided a quote for a new system. One week later, the system quit working. Called another service company who fixed it for 1/15 of the price of a new system. Overall, I felt like the service person only wanted to finish job as quickly as possible. Ended up paying $200 for a temporary fix that last one week. Called another service company a week later who completed a thorough inspection and a long term repair.

Technician was super. He kept coming out until he had all the problems corrected. I have been pleased with the service from Pro-Tech.

We knew our system was very old and inefficient and we also had high power bills. We contacted Pro-tech to give us a estimate on replacing our A/C and heating system. Doug from Pro-Tech arrrived at the time specified. He went over our entire system. He confirmed and explained to us why our systems was very inefficient. He told us these new systems are much more efficient and suggested that we also consider a two speed fan and a heat pump. These two added systems would increase the efficiency even more. We told him to give us a cost for all these services. We agreed to pay $4,787.66. He said he could have a work done on Thursday,we said Ok. Two technicians Tim and Scott arrived on time and went right too work. They replaced the outside and inside unit. They replaced all the pipes, wires and built a new stand for the inside unit. They sealed everything that needed to be sealed. They completed the job by 3:00 P.M. They were very courteous and friendly. They were very professional and knowledgeable. They were very clean during there work and cleaned up after they were done. They explained to us how the system worked and showed us how to work the new touch screen thermostat. Yes, I would consider or hire them again. The only thing negative concerning this job is: No one from Pro-Tech has called me too see if everything is OK. No follow up yet?

There price was reasonable, and they came just when promised, and completed the job to my satisfaction. All the workers were polite.

The technician was knowledgeable and provided a breakdown of each item on the 30 point list that was checked. He explained which items that he found to be showing wear but did not need to be replaced. Such as the contacts showing some wear, but the same voltage was being read with the contacts closed as when a jumper was put across the connection. The technician spent over one and a half hours servicing the A/C unit. Very refreshing to not have someone tell me something needed replaced before it actually does. The price was for a one year agreement to be serviced twice in the year with a free gallon of freon if needed and 15% off the price of any parts required. I researched a couple of other places and Pro-Tech's price was comparable with others. After setting up an appointment for the next day, the receptionist called me back with a cancellation available for that afternoon. The receptionist and technician were both very professional and provided outstanding customer service.
