Moses was our scheduled tech for our appointment and he did a fantastic job. Replaced and added an additional spring to the garage door and also, replaced the rollers, as the previous ones were deteriorating. Was punctual, professional and super-fast with the repairs/replacement. Would gladly recommend Moses & Discount Garage Doors to family and friends.

When my garage door wouldn't open I noticed that one of the two springs was broken. I called Discount Door and was given an estimate for the replacement of both springs for $240. I was impressed that I was given a four hour window the same day. In fact, they called later to say that the technician would be at my home likely closer to the end of the period. Great communication! Tyler arrived about 2.5 hours into the window. He was courteous, professional and knowledgeable. Unfortunately, the price was $380 plus tax ($265 for the springs and $115 for a one hour labor charge). I declined the polite, soft-sell to replace my door bearings for an additional $200. Tyler completed the job in about 30 mins. He left the work area clean. I would definitely recommend Tyler! I had printed the $35 Angie's List coupon ("Free Service Charge for Angie's List Members"). It was explained that there normally isn't a service charge and therefore no discount was owed. Somehow something about this coupon situation just didn't feel right - I didn't really feel that the coupon was of any value. I was also surprised that the estimate was so far off - I would have shopped around more if I have been given a more accurate price. I acknowledge that I did opt for the galvanized steel springs which were a bit of an upgrade. I'd give Discount Door an A rating for communication and fast service. I downgraded the overall rating due to the coupon situation and inaccurate estimate.

Perfect. Guy even did some things outside the expected services.

It took four days for the company to send me a tech. He took 15 minutes to debug the problem and charged a $65 "reprogramming" fee. We negotiated a remote opener as well but since I don't park in the garage, really didn't need a remote and still don't understand why I pay a fee if their device malfunctions through no fault of my own. Office never mentioned a fee when scheduling the appointment.

Everything and everyone we talked to had been very professional, friendly and on time. We are very happy with our new Grarage door and opener.

Excellent: Very good service over-the-phone from the scheduler who helped by scheduling a tech's visit within less than 24 hours. The tech was professional and fast. The Techs are driving a truck with the company logo and most parts. I was also told that they provide 24/7 service response for the same labor/hour as M-F, 08:00 - 5:00. Their List Parts prices are a little bit higher than other two companies I called, but I received a one year warranty for the parts (no warranty for labor).

They did a good job. They did the rollers and replaced all that kind of stuff. Took the old ball bearing ones out and put the new ones in. He was in and out pretty quick. He did a good job. It is working well. It was accomplished quickly. The people were professional. They came in and got it done.

I was happy with the responsiveness of this company to my need for service. My car was stuck in the garage and as soon as they knew that, they scheduled me for the same morning of my call. Allen arrived within the time window given, and worked quickly and efficiently to replace the springs, perform the inspection, and apply the lubricant. I'm very happy with this company.

Not only was this company very price competitive, but also very responsive too. They took the time to stop by and inspect the garage door and accommodated my request to only repair the damage. They had even had a color chart showing me all the available colors - one of which was a very close match to the old door - saving me the cost of hiring a painter to paint the door. I would highly recommend them to anyone. Kudos to the technician - Jason who performed the work, and the guy who came & did the estimate ( sorry, I forgot his name, but he's an Irish guy from Detroit area....)

Excellent service with punctuality and good price

Job went well. We have used DGD for service previously on our garage door opener. After 16 years it was time to replace the opener. DGD arrived on time, finished job quickly. Would use again and recommend.

Very professional. When he arrived went right to work. Completed it very quickly. Would use them again.

Matt was great! He replaced broken hinge and recommended replacing a second hinge that was starting to show wear. Garage door system is 8 years old, so he checked spring and rollers. Rollers were rubbing, so he replaced those too.

Repairman arrived about an hour after I called. He had all the parts needed to repair the door on his truck. He replaced the spring, all the roller bearings, and lubed all the moving parts within 30 minutes. What a pleasant experience!

The original service window had to be moved due to a more complicated job earlier in the day. The office notified me well in advance and offered the opportunity to reschedule. I opted to keep today's appointment but at a later time - no complaints. A closer inspection of the door revealed a number of additional issues that we weren't aware of. Our door is at least 25 years old and once pointed out, the problems were obvious. A (reasonable) quote was prepared in minutes. The door presented some challenges and took longer to repair than any of us expected, but all work was completed in a single visit and we have a like-new garage door. Very pleased with service. Will use again for regular maintenance and would recommend.

Saturday afternoon, a home warranty service company wanted $400 to replace a pair of springs, on my double car garage door, which seemed way too expensive. Because of Angie's List, called Discount Garage Doors who, surprising to me, said they could have a tech at my house tonight between 6-9pm. Allen showed up earlier than I expected, was very knowledgable and clearly explained what he was going to do and their price. A pair of springs later and some new bearings cost me $270. Very happy with Allen and Discount Garage Doors. I would definitely recommend them and if needed, use them again.

I scheduled on Monday for someone to come out on Tuesday afternoon between 4-7. On Tuesday I was called late in the day and told they need reschedule since the person's truck was broken. We rescheduled for Wednesday again from 4-7 p.m. Again I was called late and told that they needed to reschedule because the person was in traffic. I advised the caller that if they rescheduled one more time I would look for another company. We rescheduled for Thursday between 4-7. I was called Thursday morning and told they could come out between 9-12 but I explained to the caller that I work and that is why I needed the 4-7 time frame. They said we would keep that appointment. Then again late in the day - after 4 p.m. - I was called again told they needed to reschedule - that the person was stuck on a job that would take time. After being cancelled on three times - with no regard to what it takes the customer to have someone at the house - I told the caller I would find another company. I'm very disappointed that this company could not make their customer a priority after two failed appointments.
