Out of warranty service costs are $85.00 for an assesment and $85.00 labor plus parts on most jobs. We also offer full dryer vent cleanings (inside the dryer as well as the vent) for $150 and professional Grill Cleaning for $240.

Our new LG refrigerator - less than 1 year old - had some problems, stopped working and needed serviced. When we called LG, they had given our information to "Expert Appliance Repair Services". Mitch came out and diagnosed the problem and the necessary parts were ordered. He also checked and worked on the refrigerator that day, and assured us that it was okay to continue to use. When the parts came in (time frame was acurate-yeah! reliable), we were called, and another appointment was set up. Today, 2/28/2013, Mitch replaced the necessary parts. I was very satisfied with all of this repair companies personnel, that I came in contact with. Everyone was helpful and professional. Mitch was extremely professional and courteous! I would not hesitate to recommend this company, due to the experience we had with Mitch and his thorough knowledge of our particular product. I would rate their service as a "5" out of 5!!

First technician diagnosed problem, advised what parts were needed and what needed ordered. Upon second trip to repair once parts were in, first tech had overlooked another part: yoke assembly that was needed, which caused another part order and third trip to finish repairs. Parts have to be ordered (7 1- 10 days) for this brand, but that's not Expert's fault. Third time was the charm and the dryer is repaired and runs as it is supposed to run. All the guys that worked this repair were professional and great to deal with. This is the second time I have used Expert for this dryer and would heartily recommend them.
Description of Work: Fisher & Paykel dryer needed new belt, pulley and yoke assembly.

Could not wait for the first available appointment in this case. Probably not a good choice in an emergency!
Description of Work: We needed service on our washing machine, so I called to make an appointment. I selected this company because of the coupon and high ratings on Angie's List. The call was made Tuesday, January 8, and the first available appointment was Wednesday of the NEXT week. We made the appointment, but will cancel it because we were able to get service from another company sooner, the very next day. Perhaps this company has a great demand for service because they are good. However, waiting over a week for repair just did not meet our needs. We had been away on vacation for over 2 weeks, and needed to wash our clothes.

THE TECHNICIAN ARRIVED ON TIME AND WAS VERY COURTEOUS. HE SOON ISOLATED MY PROBLEM TO BE THE RANGE CONTROL UNIT. THE TECHNICIAN TOOK THE TIME TO CHECK WITH GE AND SEVERAL OTHER DISTRIBUTORS AND INFORMED ME THE CONTROL UNIT WAS NO LONGER BEING MANUFACTURED NOR WAS ONE AVAILABLE. HE ADVISED ME I COULD POSSIBLY LOCATE A RECONDITIONED CONTROL UNIT ON EBAY AND IF I FOUND ONE TO NOTIFY THE OFFICE HE WOULD RETURN AND INSTALL IT FOR ME. HE FURTHER INFORMED ME TO BE VERY CAUTIOUS ABOUT PURCHASING A RECONDITIONED UNIT. AFTER THE TECHNICIAN LEFT THE WIFE AND I DISCUSSED THE SITUATION AND SINCE OUR RANGE IS 16 YEARS OLD WE DECIDED TO TAKE HIS ADVISE AND PURCHASE A NEW ELECTRIC RANGE.

I called to make an appointment for the service call. They had an opening roughly a week later and said they would call the morning of the service day and give a two hour window of when they'd arrive. I asked that they call my wife, since she works from home, and I gave them her phone number. On the day of the appointment, the service person, Steve called me instead of my wife. I called him back and had to leave a message. My wife then call him and spoke with him. He said he would arrive between 1 pm and 3 pm that day. By 3 pm, he hadn't arrived and he then called my wife shortly after 3 pm and said he was running late, but that if she had time, he come right over. She said okay, but by 4:30 pm, he had still not arrived. My wife had to run up to the school and drop something off. Right after she left, he arrived, an hour and a half late. Since she wasn't there, and my 13 yr. old daughter answered the door, he left without looking at the dryer. No one called back, so I called Expert Appliance. The person who answered the phone stated that the driver said he arrived on time and no one was there. That is not even close to being accurate. The person on the phone was defensive, but at least did apologize for not being able to look at the dryer. They were booked up solid and couldn't come out again for another week. Rather go through this process all over again, I've elected to find someone who is more appreciative of their customers and respectful of their time. The shame of it all is that I have used them one other time in the past to repair my refrigerator and they did a good job. There are many options available so there is no reason to put up with poor customer service.
Description of Work: Our Maytag Neptune dryer was making a loud squeaking noise when it ran and I call to have them diagnose and fix the problem.

At Expert Appliance Repair Services we strive to respect our customer's time. That is why we give 2 hour windows at the beginning of each day, thereby not keeping the customers restrained at home all day. The technician called the customer's wife initially but there was no answer, which is why he called the next number on the list. The technician did get held up on a call prior to this one, which happens occassionally. When he informed the customer he was running late, he was NOT informed that the customer had to leave or that she would be right back. When he arrived, no one answered the door or the phone when he attempted to contact her to let her know he was at the home. Not knowing that the customer would be right back, he moved on to the next call. We do not allow our technicians to enter a home with only a minor, an adult must be present. We regret we ran into these issues with this customer.

Work finially performed was good. But it took longer than I first thought it would.
Description of Work: First service man said that they did not do garbage disposals and that my freezer needed a part. I called company to express my displeasure since I was very specific on my needs when I called to make the appointment. Was told that this was a new person and the company did garbage disposal. Owner came out looked at disposal and ordered a new one. He came back to replace it. When the part for freezer came in the service man that did that work was very professional.

Great!! The tech came out on time, calling first as they said they would. He inspected the washer, put it through cycles, explained the problem and our options. After discussing the problems, we decided to replace the washer. the tech was very helpful, mentioning name brands he felt were best, and stores he'd heard were having sales. Will use this company every time I have an appliance issue, couldn't have been happier or more impressed.

This visit was to install a new board and controller on my 2 year old Kenmore Elite Front Load Washer which was having problems with it's rinse and spin cycles. Square Trade Warrenty had chosen this vendor for the service. This service tech diagnosed the problem and told me he would order the part. He was prompt and professional. When the part came, the installation was set up for Monday, July 2. The second tech was also prompt and installed the part. When I did a load of wash later that day, the washer would not spin without making a loud squealing noise and would not spin fast enough to remove any water. The result was an LE code and a door which would not unlock. I was able to get it to empty and spin a bit after repeatedly unplugging and replugging the machine selecting spin only. I called Expert Appliance the following day and was told by Kelly that the earliest they could check it out was the following Tuesday since they do not regularly come up to the area where I live. I told them they needed to send someone up "today" since they are the ones who left the machine in worse condition that before they "fixed" it. If nothing else, they could reinstall the "old" board which did work better than the "new" one. Kelly was supposed to call me back. I contacted my warranty company and they said they would contact Expert. The final resolution seems to be that they will get someone here "this week", but so far I have heard nothing. I would not be so adamant except that my machine had been semi-functional before they came and useless after they fixed it. Under those circumstances, I believe they should have sent someone out on Tuesday. I will update this as the issue resolves, but for now, I would not recommend them based on their cavalier attitude to resolving problems they have caused. 07/05/2012: I called Expert at 9:00 AM. Donna told me the tech would call me back in a few minutes. Both the Tech and Expert left messages on my answering machine within 30 minutes requesting verification that a time between 12:30 and 2:30 would be acceptable. The Tech arrived at 1:15. He was very pleasant and professional. He checked the washer out and said the combination of problems that itr was having were unusual. He is ordering a new board, wiring harness, and motor sensor. I will update this when the new parts have been installed. 07/09/2012: I called Expert to see if the parts were in. Donna told me they were still awaiting approval from Square Trade so the parts had not yet been ordered. I called Square Trade. They told me they review and make decisions on parts and service requests every day and had not received any requests from Expert. Ritchie, the gentleman I spoke with, has contacted his manager who in turn will contact Expert. They will update me tomorrow. Square Trade initially contacted Expert on June 11th to arrange to fix my washer. It has been almost a month now and my washer is still not fixed. 7/10/12: Square Trade contacted Service Power who in turn contacted Expert directly and approved the parts. 07/16/2012: Kelly left a message that the parts came in. Donna scheduled service for Wednesday the 18th. The Tech arrived on time and was very professional and courteous. He ran some checks on the washer.. He told me the whining sound was coming from the motor. he did some further checking and told me the parts that had been ordered would not fix the problem. He would need to order more parts. I called Square Trade and asked the tech to talk to them. He did and ultimately Square Trade decided to issue me a check for a new washer.

The technican identified the problem. The door latch mechanism had broken. The door latch was not closing properly as part of the plastic had broken from the defrosting element. Technican had difficult time trying to remove the parts for replace. He remained profession, persistant, and was able to remove and replace pieces. The technican never appeared frustrated during the entire visit.

The service was easy to schedule The technician called on the day of service to confirm he would be coming that day as promised. He indicated he would arrive between noon and 4 pm and arrived at 3:45. He quickly got to work troubleshooting the problem, determined the cause of the problem, replaced the bad part and was ready to wrap up within an hour. He also notice the coupon I placed on the counter top so when the printed the bill he had already included the coupon in the total. Basically he did a great job.

He removed the old part installed the new one and tested the washer. IT STILL DID NOT WORK. He called his contact and discussed how to remove the lid. Before that, his contact suggested he tighten the lid to the connector. He did, closed the lid and the washer has started. The switch was not needed, unfortunately the old one was broken while being removed. I was billed about $140 and gave them a check. He left and i was generally happy. About an hour later or less, i was driving when i got a call from the EARS office. They had a report that I "appeared" less than thrilled that i had to pay for a part that got broken during removal. They OFFERED to remove the cost of the part and charge only $79 for the repair. I was shocked and pleasantly suprised. I accepted and they have a customer for life.
Description of Work: My Maytag washer was not working properly. We could ht it nad make it work but it was annoying. My prior small appliance repair people had retired. I found EARS on Angie's List and cut the coupon for the diagnosis. Called for an appointment telling them the lid switch was not functioning. The repairman arrived on time, and went to work. He admitted not being fully familiar with the machine but he was in telephone contact with someone who was.. He made a call and quickly had access to the lid safety switch. He was prepared with the part.

This was a great experience. They actually called stating they were running early, which really helped me out. They came out looked at my washer and fixed it within 30 minutes. They were up front with their pricing as far as labor and the initial coming out price. I used my Angie's List coupon so that helped! I will use them again for sure!

The repair has been successful and the washer is working well. Expert was very professional and courteous. They tried to keep the repair cost to a minimum by replacing the lowest cost module first. Unfortunately, they ended up having to replace a second more costly module. Others would have charged for the second visit but Expert did not. I would highly recommend Expert to anyone.
Description of Work: Our Kenmore Elite front loading washer was constantly giving fault codes and the door would not open trapping our clothes inside. Expert came out promptly and arrived when they said they would and diagnosed the problem to one or two control modules. They replaced the least costly control module (door lock mechanism) on the hope it was the primary cause of the issues. It worked for a few days and then another problem came up. So they came back out and replaced the second module (primary control). They did not charge us for the return visit, just for the cost of the part.

I got them off Angie's List. They had a great record. They charged us for the visit and gave us an estimate, which I thought was high. It came up to $600 to repair both the things. When I called and checked on how much the parts cost, they were totally out of line with what they had given me. I called somebody else on the list and he did the work for lesser price. I was furious because I feel like they were a big rip off. They are the ones that had great A's and it was a total rip off. I talked to a lady and told her I wanted them to reimburse for the service call. She wanted me to send the copy of the bill. The things that they said were wrong were not wrong. They wanted to charge us to put a whole new ice maker. They were going to charge us for two workmen for washing machine and a little man who was in his late 60's from another company did it on his own. They wanted to do a repair on our appliances, which didn't need a repair on. They responded really fast and they got somebody here the same day, but then everything else wasn't fine. After I called her, she didn?t respond. The woman I spoke with requested a copy of the bill and agreed to reimburse us for the service call. Due to a family death, we never had time to submit it. I recently reviewed their response to my complaint. I never threatened these people with a bad review, but certainly planned to submit the facts which are stated above. They're response confirms what I said about them.

Response from EXPERT APPLIANCE REPAIR SERVICES
Our technician looked at two units for Member and informed her of his diagnostics. In an attempt to satisfy the customer, the technician only charged Member for one diagnostic when generally we charge a diagnostic fee per unit. Our technician recommended the drain pump be replaced on her washer and the icemaker be replaced on her refrigerator. Our technicians are factory trained and use only OEM parts. Repairs are done to manufacturer specifications in an attempt to promote the longivity of the unit. This means we do not use "make do" repairs or short cuts. The technician who responded to the call has over 15 years experience in appliance repair. Nevertheless, when Member contacted our office with her complaint, we agreed to refund her diagnostic fee if she provided us with a copy of the work order showing the work performed on her units by the other servicer. This is standard operating procedure for most companies to show proof the work was performed by a legitamate, licensed and bonded servicer. Member refused to provide a copy of the requested work order and, rather, threatened to post the worst possible report on Angie's List unless we immediately refunded her fee without any proof of service. We regret Member was not satisfied with our service.

Washing machine was not working. I was able to get an appointment on a Wednesday which was the next day after I called. The repairman determined that a part needed to be replaced. The part was covered under the manufacturer warranty ( I had to provide a receipt of purchase) but had to be ordered. It took two days to order and there were no available appointments on Friday so I had to wait until Monday for the repairman to return. Both repairmen were very polite and professional and they did a great job diagnosing and repairing the washer. The price was inexpensive as well. The only complaint is that you cannot pick the time for the appointment (e.g. morning or afternoon). They give you a two hour window and that is the time you need to be home. Other than the unavailability/lack of flexibility of appointments, I would recommend this company and would use them again. The quality of work and price were excellent.

Called on Tuesday to schedule the appointment. They were busy and the person I spoke with said they could not be out until Friday. She was a little rude and I almost said, "never mind", but I'm glad I didn't because the repairman turned out to be a wonderful gentleman that really did a great job. He was very personable and knowledgable and did a very thorough job. The issue with my dryer turned out to be lint in the vent. He cleaned out lint inside the dryer and the vent all the way to the outside of the house. I am very pleased with the service we received and will use this company again.

They were punctual. They were fairly quick to get here after we called them. They didn’t take too long and were efficient. It took a while for them to get the part; it took a week. I did call them on that a couple of times. They could have let me know after three or four days. I think that they were pretty busy. They probably could have been a little more responsive. The price was about what I expected.

They did an excellent job. They came out and did what they said they would do. They did a diagnostic and then they asked what we wanted to do. We had them order the part and then come back and fix the disposal. They didn't charge a mark up. The price they charged was very fair. They were very professional. They were good. We used them because they were very highly ranked on Angie's List.

Refrigerator was freezing items regardless of setting. Excellent initial diagnosis. Tried to adjust sensor initially. No pressure to replace parts. Gave a complete estimate of parts needed should sensor adjustment not work. Gave it a few days. Then ordered parts. Quick turnaround and installation right on estimate. No issues. Yeas I recommend them. the overall cost for service and repair was a lot cheaper then going through Sears or a big box store. I would use them again if needed.
Description of Work: Needed repair on my dryer. The office staff quickly made an appointment for the very next day.from when I called. That was on a Monday. The technician came on Tuesday. He quickly knew the problem but did not know the cost of the part as the office was closed for the day. it was at 5:00pm. I pad the service call charge as he stated. Received a call the next day about the part and the cost. Was told it would take a couple days to direct order it. Was also told the total would be $193.00 so I asked about the discount of my service call since I was getting the service. The tech was not aware of it. I called the office the staff quickly sorted out the difference in cost and scheduled for my part. Couple days later the technician showed back up on time with a morning verification phone call from him. Fixed the dryer in about 30 minuts and we were all good to go.

Called to schedule appointment and had David come out to check on issue. He identified the problem, but did not have the part in stock. He did a temporary fix to eliminate the loud noise caused when drying clothes. He advised that he would order part and it should be recieved in about 2 - 3 days. He was apologized for not having the part in stock (apparently they usually have stock) and advised me of the temporary fix, they would call when part in and reschedule a time to repair. Like clockwork, received a call that part was in and scheduled re-visit. David was in and out in no time. Very thorough, pleasant and professional.
Description of Work: Diagnosed problem with loud noise coming from dryer and replaced bearing assembly in Fisher & Paykel dryer.
