The technician was scheduled for a morning visit and called to let us know he was several hours behind. Once he came and checked the dishwasher he advised us that for the cost we should consider a new dishwasher. At this point we were satisfied with the service. Two nights later when we opened the cabinet next to the dishwasher which is rarely used and saw that the wood frame around the cabinet was almost completely pulled away from the box and the face strip closes to the dishwasher was broken. None of the damage was visible until the cabinet was opened. This was not like this before the technician visited. We called both the technician and the company, neither of which would take responsibility for the damage.

Terrible-- They botched the repair to my DCS gas range & when I called to set up another service call to fix the problem we set up a 2-4 p.m. repair time & I arranged to reschedule my work to be home for 2:00 p.m.-- These idiots then called the house on the service day & had changed the repair time from 2-4 to 9-10 am (when I wasn't even home). I politely set up a second service call for 2 weeks later & emphasized again atet I would only be home after 2 p.m. & would be waiting for them-- Same exact thing happened a second time--they tried to switch the time without telling me & said they were NOT available at the set up 2-4 p.m. time. I was irate at these rude & incompetent people doing this to me twice (they have absolutely no regard for the customers who mistakenly use their services without knowing any better). When I called to ask why they had done this to me TWICE the nasty woman who set up both appointments told me to "Go get some one else"...Nice....

The first technician that came out on 8/31/17 said that the flapper on the ice maker needed replacing and that it would cost $12.37. He said the dishwasher pump was vibrating, but was not serviceable, as he could not get the dishwasher out of the cabinet. He charged us $85.00 to diagnose the flapper on the ice maker, stating since the dishwasher was not serviceable, he would not be able to properly diagnose it. He suggested the dishwasher was installed incorrectly, and we needed to remove wood trim from the cabinet so he could get the dishwasher out when he returned for the repair. Though the appliance repairman was unable to get the dishwasher out of the cabinet, we were able to pull it out quite easily without having to remove any of the cabinet parts, as the repairman insisted was required. The technician had to order the flapper and charged $85.00 for the diagnostic fee on 8/31/17, which we paid that day. The receipt we received on 8/31/17 stated $12.37 would be the only charge for the part (flapper) and would need to be paid when it was replaced. Nothing was written on the receipt stating future labor fees. A second technician came out on 9/7/17 to replace the flapper and charged $85.00 for labor for the flapper and $12.37 for the part. He then added a wire clip that looked like a piece of a coat hanger to the pump on the dishwasher and charged an additional $85.00 for labor. The total labor time for both appliances added up to no more than 20 minutes, and both appliances were easily accessible in the kitchen. (We even pulled the dishwasher out for them.) Their website clearly states "$85.00 for Labor Per Hour [Minor Repairs]". We thought surely there was a mistake with this overcharge, so we contacted their office and explained the double charge of $85.00 and what their website states regarding flat rate labor fees. The lady that answered the phone said she would just revise their website to reflect our bill, and that the labor is $85.00 per hour per appliance. I then explained it only took about 20 minutes of labor for both appliances, but she refused to refund the overcharge of $85.00. We documented the quotes on their website and since we were clearly overcharged by $85.00, we are disputing the overcharge with Amex. We attempted to resolve this with the office, but were unsuccessful. The technician, Steve, was kind, but the overall service and overcharge appear unethical. The total amount we paid Expert Appliance added up to $280.14, and we had to remove the dishwasher from the cabinet for them. [$85.00 diagnostic fee, $85.00 labor, $85.00 labor, $12.37 flapper part, $12.77 tax = $280.14 total]

I called Expert Appliance Repair Services to repair my fridge. $85 to come out a diagnose the problem, which I had no problem paying. They determined they needed to order a control panel from Alabama. The tech told me it would take three days and be there the Friday before Thanksgiving. That wasn't exactly true.. The Monday AFTER Thanksgiving they came out and installed it. The fridge still wasn't working, so I called them back. They couldn't come back out for two days, then they were an hour and a half later than the two hour window they gave. The tech said he needed to run a test but he didn't have the equipment with him. He would come back today. Today, they said they had to order the testing equipment and it would be at least another week! Worse yet, they cashed my $200+ check for the part and installation. Expert Repair? More like the biggest joke for an appliance repair company ever!

The customer purchased a unit that was sitting outside for 6 months and infested with bugs. The bugs had eaten away at the wiring. Upon first arrival the unit would not power up. We had to install a control board to get power to unit so it could be tested. This is what we charged customer for. Once the power was up and the unit ran for a couple days, the customer called us back to inform it was not cooling. We ran a dye test and found the unit had a sealed system leak. At this point the customer decided the cost of the repair exceeded what they wanted to spend. We did not charge the customer for the additional trip charges or dye testing.

Steve and Sean arrived on schedule and did a great job unclogging the freezer drain and repairing the dishwasher. They put down a board to protect the wood floors when the dishwasher needed to be pulled out from under the counter. Work was done efficiently and they provided tips on how to keep the freezer drain from clogging in the future. I would definitely use Expert Appliance again.

It went great! I was really impressed. I had used them about 2 years ago for the exact the same problem that I had yesterday with my dryer. I was pleased then and I was pleased this time. Scott, the technician called ahead of time and gave me a two hour window. He came within 2 hours, he was courteous, and professional. He looked at the machine and told me he needed to get a bearing. He worked on it and fixed it. He replaced the drum and bearing that was warned out. I did find that I had to wait 3 weeks, which I guess nowadays is not that long without a dryer. I would definitely hire them again.
Description of Work: Fixed my Fisher & Paykel Dryer which had a grinding noise. Scott, the technician, also checked my washing machine because I had seen a small amount of water leaking from front corner of machine. He diagnosed my dryer as needing a drum bearing replacement part and my washer leakage was from splash-over of water. I would definitely hire them again.

Spent 20 minutes on "repair". Total bill for $150, including visit charge and "diagnostic". Leak increased to daily puddle running across kitchen, from prior leak every couple weeks or so. Pile of towels now piled 24/7 in kitchen floor by corner of fridge. Called them back. They came and diagnosed the problem (which wasn't done the first time?) and asked for more money to repair. This was a new remodelling install 5 years ago that hasn't been moved or serviced since installation. Talked with rep who said the "diagnosis" wasn't done on the first trip since they were "just there to install a part". Didn't seem to understand why we would not be pleased that they came out, made leak worse (incorrectly installed part? loose connection? lack of experience?), then charge for both initial visit and followup. Why then should leak increase, if job was done right with OEM part from KitchenAid? Will call manufacturer and ask for other reference and not use EAR again.

The customer requested that we install a part without our diagnosing if that was indeed the problem which we did. The customer called back and we sent a tech back out and found the problem involved more that what the customer thought. We diagnosed the unit and gave the customer an estimate which they did not wish to proceed with. We did not charge the customer for the diagnostic or the additional trip.

A very pleasant experience all in all. The office was able to give me a date within our availability. The morning of the appointment Scott called and gave me a 2 hour window of when he would arrive. Shortly before the opening of the 2 hours he called to say that he had been delayed with another customer but would be with me within the hour. He arrived as planned, listened to my thoughts about the problem, and promptly determined that it was something completely different. That's why I called Expert and didn't try the repairs myself! He happened to have the part in his truck and was able to repair, clean, adjust the machine. All within an hour of his arrival.. There are no leaks and the machine is running smoothly.

Very poor, will never use them again as they did not attempt to repair the fridge. Office is very unorganized & sloppy to be honest, can NOT Lowes recommends them!
Description of Work: The provider came out and diagnosed our broken fridge, advised us the parts woul be ordered and installed within 3-5 business days. This was on May 4th. Here it is on May 20th and still no parts or calls from Expert Appliance advising when the parts would be in. After complaining, the office clerk said they are cutting a check for the amount we paid less the 65..00 diagnostics service fee. The office person was very rude and hung the phone up. They were referred by Lowes, will definitely let them know, and will go to my credit card company to get the 65.00 returned as well.

Scott, the technician arrived on time, was very professional and friendly. He diagnosed my refrigerator which has a broken ice maker and a dryer. He explained the problems and called me back within 3 hours with a quote and time frame for fixing each item. He also took my portable A/C with him and will get another technician who specializes in A/Cs.They deduct the $65.00 diagnosis when they come back to finish the job. They will charge $85 for labor on each appliance plus parts. I will update this when they complete the repairs. 5-1-15: Took awhile to get the dryer parts. They called me when they arrived on 4-29-15. Scheduled appointment for today. Nice young man, David hughes installed and fixed dryer. Expert appliance is the BEST.

Called about 3 companies to fix a Haier Portable A/C. Their are very few companies in the Jacksonville , FL area that fix them. Discussed it with Expert Appliance Service and they were professional, informative and friendly. Took A/C to them and picked it up the next day. They were so good I am having them come to my house to fix my ice maker, which they were able to quote price over the phone. Note: Expert Appliance Service is a service provider for Lowe's, however Lowe's does does not mention them. This is the BEST Appliance Service I have used in Jacksonville.

The first tech thought I lived in Orange Park, went there and called me to cancel the appointment. One day out of my life. Then a tech showed up just to due the diagnosis. Two days out of my life. Then on the third occassion, one guy fixed the dryer. The second was to clean the vent. He managed not to reconnect the vent.e also left lint on the floor and on my roof. When I called Ms. Wilson, she insulted me and told me it take five days to get another tech to my house. Four days out of my life. I called HH Greg, whose supervisor was shocked by what Ms. Wilson said to me, and they called in another comany to fix the problems left behind by (In)Expert Appliance Repair.
Description of Work: They were supposed to install two parts and clean the vent of my dryer. The first tech thought I lived in Orange Park, when I live in Saint Augustine. The second appointment was simply diagnosis. The third appointment was to do the fix, and clean my vent. Lint was left on the roof. The hose from the dyer to the vent was loose. When I called Ms. Wilson, she insulted me and then told me she could NOT get anyone for FIVE days to my house. I called H H Gregg, who apologized for Expert Appliance's poor service, and then connected me to another provider. I would never use Expert Appliance as they are less than competent.

I found EARS to be highly rated on Angie's List so I gave them a call. From the beginning, Gloria was helpful. She scheduled me for a repair appt for the belts by Thursday of that week. The technician called that morning and arrived promptly. He changed the belts and recommended a glide kit. I asked him to please call his office and ask them to order it that day if possible and to schedule me back into the repair loop as soon as possible. I had already been without it working properly for over 2 weeks. I avoided washing heavy loads until i could get it repaired. I called the next day, on Friday, and spoke with Gloria again. She gladly picked up a dropped ball by locating a glide kit for me and getting me in the repair loop by Monday. Had I not called, i might have fallen between the cracks. Gloria originally thought she couldn't get a tech back out before the end of that next week. I pleaded my case and she picked up the situation and made it right. Monday morning I received a phone call from a different technician, Mitch, saying he would be here between 2-4. He was very prompt, actually a few minutes early. After installing the glide kit, my old Maytag washer is like new again. Mitch said he was surprised that i was repairing it. I guess most people go for new. NO WAY! I know Maytag washers of 20 years ago are worth their weight in gold. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND EARS. They are honest, reliable, affordable and like Maytag of years ago....they are DEPENDABLE!!!! Thank you EARS....i will gladly use you again. I'm so grateful for Mitch and Gloria! Thank you so very much!! You are now on THIS Angie's List!!! Sincerely, Angie
Description of Work: My Maytag washer was not spinning the water out. I thought it was belts since i'm the original owner and have never had them changed after owning it for over 20 years. The belts were changed but also needed a glide kit. Glide kit was replaced.

The customer called on Monday 5/20/13 and we were able to schedule him for service within 24 hours on Tues 5/21/13. The technician assigned to the job attempted to call the customer several times that morning to give a window as to when to expect him. When the customer did returned the call to the technician, he complained that he called the office and the guy who answered the phone did not have a record of service for him. He also told the technician that it was hard to hear the guy because of all the chickens in the background and cancelled the job. Expert Appliance Repair Services scheduled the call to the customer for within 24 hours, attempted to contact the customer by 9:30 the morning of the appointment but was unable to make contact, and we have three women in the office answering the phones, no men. We are in a professional business district and conduct our business in a professional, business atmosphere (no chickens in the area). We can only conclude that the customer misdialed the number when he called the office.

My dryer was making clunking noises when the drum rotated. At first I thought someone had left something in their pockets, but when I ran the dryer with nothing in it, the clunking noise was still there. I called my warrenty company on April 24th and they passed it on to Expert Appliance. Expert contacted me on the following day and sheduled a tech visit on the following Monday (the 29th). Scott came when he said he would and assessed a crack in the drum weld. He was very personable andprofessional and told me he would order the necessary parts. Expert called me when the part arrived and scheduled the repair for Thursday the 9th. The Tech was here when he said he would be and replaced the drum. He told me that some dryer makers have weak drum welds and the company that made my dryer (LG) was one of them. He also was very personable and professional. The dryer sounds fine now. I am happy.

The oven stopped working completely but the range continued to work. I looked on Angie's List and called Expert Appliance Repair Service. They responded quickly, diagnosed the problem and ordered the part. Because we were out of town for a few days the final repair visit was delayed but was scheduled the day after we returned. Everyone who came to the house - the owner and two other servicemen - were knowledgeable, professional, courteous and considerate. This could not have been a better experience. In addition, phone calls to this company are handled exceptionally well. Scheduling is done to accomodate the customer. The work is done neatly and quickly. Everyone is extremely punctual and calls before arriving. This is a terrific company and we will never use anyone else for appliance repair. The Angie's List discount was also very helpful. Yay, Angie's List and "thank you so much!" to Expert Appliance Repair Services.

In February of 2013, I noticed that there was a smell coming from my washer which smelled like old "dirty water". When I went to investigate I found that there was a drawer full of water underneath my front load washer. I removed all the water and checked all the hoses but could not find the source. I called Expert Appliance Repair Services in early March and they sent someone out within 3 days. The technician did call and gave me a time frame as to when he would be arriving. He was prompt. He diagnosed my problem as being a damanged door seal due to worn shock absorbers that cushion the drum. He said he would have to order the parts. Approximately 3 days later the office called me and quoted me a price for the parts and service of $240.00, I agreed to this so they ordered the parts. The parts came in 7 days later and I recieved a call on Thursday that the repairman could be back at my house the following Monday. The repairman called me that morning, gave me an approximate time that afternoon he would be here, and he was prompt. He repaired the struts and the seal, cleaned up after himself and was very courteous.
Description of Work: Initial service call. Diagnosed the issue. Ordered parts which came in a week later. Returned to install a 5 days after that. Replaced parts on the washer and gave advice as to its proper use.
