They were not very professional and after they came to look at the unit, it stopped working only for them to come back and recommend replacing the A/C unit despite us never having any problems with it before. He was very pushy about installing a new A/C unit. I would NOT recommend this company to anybody.

Their service was satisfactory. When I bought my house here I had an existing contact with them and I called them and they came and did the checking and I was happy with their services. They did what they were supposed to do.

we have a service contract with them and had been happy with the work provided in the past. This time the technician told me there was a leak and that all the refrigerant would need to be replaced and the cost would be $800+. The unit is not that old and I didn't think that it would have lost all refrigerant in the few years it was in place. So I called the company that put the unit in and their technician came to look. There was no detectable leak however the refrigerant was low. There seemed to be no reason it would be low. He added more and the unit works. Now i am really not sure I can trust this company!

I am very surprised to see this review. We were called out to a rental property that was not heating. Upon arrival the service man checked the refrigerant levels and the unit was very low. We did not install the unit but advised the customer that we should perform a leak check to see where the refrigerant was leaking from so this issue does't happen again. The unit holds 9 lbs of refrigerant and the leak check and repair with two hours labor would normally run $815.00 but since we have done work for them in the past we would discount the bill to $435.00 TO FIX THE LEAK AND FILL UNIT WITH REFRIGERANT!!! The only way for refrigerant to leave the system is from a leak or theft so if the leak was not repaired the problem will show up again. I am not sure why my integrity would be questioned for accurately reporting the issue and providing an affordable solution.

I have been using Superior since 2008. Every technician I have had the pleasure of working with has been extremely professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. They do not try to sell you something that you do not need. They are extremely responsive to needs outside the yearly maintenance and I have nothing but good things to say about this company. I have been a customer of theirs for the past 6 years and I plan to continue the relationship in the future. I have been extremely pleased with this company.

Description of Work: I have a service contract with Superior. They told me I needed a new A/C unit for $4850. Called another firm and they repaired unit for $208. I requested a refund of my service contract twice from Superior with no results. Would not recommend this company.

We are sorry that [Member Name] was not happy with the information we provided to him. [Member Name] was not present when we responded to his call, we were instructed to contact the office of Bay Aristocrat to get a key. No one was at the office over the weekend but the technican was able to over-ride the t-stat and turn the unit on from outside. When checking the unit the refrigerant pressures were low, that would cause the unit to run along time and would account for a higher electric bill. My technican called [Member Name] in Canada and told him of the issues, gave him an option to make repairs, but given the age of the unit(over 10 years old) and the type of refrigerant his older machine uses he explained the benefits of replacement. [Member Name] said he was going to mull his options and get back to us. The technican said he would top off the charge so the unit would not run constantly and would wait to hear from him. When [Member Name] did call back it was to say he wasnt happy with the diagnosis and another company said the refrigerant charge was fine. Having just added refrigerant, I explained to [Member Name], it would not show that it was low so that was not a valid point. The capacitor that he had replaced and supposed fix to the unit would not have allowed the unit to run at all, so we would not have been able to turn the unit on when we responded to his call. So once again we apologize that we did not have the news [Member Name] wanted but we reported what we found.

It was BAD, they technician came out saying that they were here is service my HVAC system. I told them no I called for you to give me an estimate. He said well you owe me for a service call! I said no, you are here to give me an estimate, he gave me an estimate that was twice as much as any others. THEN THE WORST PART IS NOW I AM ON THERE COMPUTER MARKETING. I HAVE BEEN GETTING MARKETING CALLS FROM THEM ALMOST EVERY DAY, IT IS A REAL PAIN.

I would not recommend them to friends or family
Description of Work: I have had them for seven years and they installed my air conditioner 7 years ago. They p me off when one technician told me my air was a piece of crap as some insulation in air handler was loose and he said he would fix it. I told him well you sold it to me and he shut up quickly but that planted a seed. I recently had issue with my air and they told me condenser was gone but under warranty but the freon and labor would be 1300.00 and they tried to pressure me into buying a new one. I called another company and within 15 minutes it was fixed for 275.00. It was the snap cap that was the issue so I will not be a customer of Superiors anymore.

Superior Heating and A/C responded our request within a very tight timeframe. The technician was thorough and professional and supplied us with the necessary paperwork for our house closing.

After our AC unit stopped working on Sunday we called Superior as we have a maintenence contract with them. Jeff was out within a hour to check the unit and we were told what we thought was going to happen, our system had to be replaced. It was over 10 yrs old and pretty much done all it could do! We decided to go forward with replacing it with a new and slightly larger unit. We got a quote from Jeff and all that was included with the install and agreed to go forward with it and was scheduled for the next day. We found the quote to very competetive and there were services that were included that some companies charge extra for. The techs (Isacc and Brandon) was here at 10 a.m. on Monday and everything was completed by 2. Everything was cleaned up and the old unit and parts were taken away. Both techs were professional and worked the entire time to get things running again. They were very courteous and friendly guys. Our house started to cool down immediately and all is well again! We were very pleased with the entire process starting with the call on Sunday to the intstall. My husband and I highly recommend Superior and will certainly continue to use them in the future and also recommend them to anyone that needs this type of service. Hilda and Steve Emery

Our AC unit went down today, the week-end of course but we do have a contract with Superior and when I called the answering service they said a tech will call me back and within 5 minutes we got the call back. Unfortunately for us our old system has to be replaced, which we knew would be soon, but Jeff was professional and courteous and explained the process to us and feel the cost of the new slightly larger and more effecient system is fair. They are coming out tomorrow to replace our entire system. Stay tuned for the install process review

VERY Poor company LOTS of BBB complaints. Tries to get expensive 2 year contract and over charge for parts and labor. Very poor reviews at Google and else where. Does not show up for appt. or call even after many calls to Service manager

I called them for the appointment and they showed up as expected. They were professional, courteous and friendly. Extremely polite and helpful. He said that my unit was too old to do anything with, so he didn't charge me at all for the service call and encouraged me to get a refund from Angie's List, which I'm doing.
Description of Work: I bought a Big Deal for $49.95 for an A/C or Furnace Inspection, Cleaning & Tune-up.

Our AirCon is actually in the attic, and Superior Heating And Cooling Management Inc had to use a lift and pulleys - and we had to cut a hole in the peak in our house in the end - for them to get the old one out and the new one in. So it was a significant job, and they did a really good job of it. We had to take out a service contract with them, and they come out and service the system twice a year. If you have a service contract with them, there is a discount on any parts that are needed. I like the fact that when I did the review on them and what they did, they did a conference call with my husband at the same time, because he was at work. It was really nice because it relieved me of having to remember all the questions my husband wanted to ask. They offer just about every brand of A/C available, and they were one of the first companies to offer what they call a new system with the freon coolant. Punctuality is good, I can call them one day and they will be here the next. There is no extra charge, with the contract, for weekends.

The weather conditions were bad so they couldn't do it. We rescheduled for today and the technician called and said they can't do it for a total of $70 but $70 per unit because I have a home warranty. They doubled the price on me after they called me originally and offered that price. I called back and spoke with Mike, the manager, and he wouldn't budge on the price. I then called back and spoke with the owner, Michelle Swanson, to give her a chance to correct it and she did not either. It would have been different if I called them first and asked for the service.
Description of Work: They called me up and said they would check my 2 units for $70. I said that sounded good and they came out.

The service went well. I was happy with them. They ended up having to send out two people to fix the problem. The first person was not as knowledgeable as the second person, but in the end the problem was fixed.
Description of Work: They installed my central air last year. This year they came out and repaired some problems I was having. The unit was still under warranty so there was no charge for the repairs.

We had a service contract with Superior. After 3 calls for the same problem we were told that a permanent fix would cost approximately 2300.00. We decided to replace the 9 year old system with a new high efficiency model, which was quickly and professionally done by superior.
Description of Work: I used them to remove and dispose of old HVAC system. They installed new Nutone 16 seer high efficiency system.

They are excellent. They are a great company. They are a locally owned company. They come out if I have any problems. I have a yearly membership with them. I spent $166 for their services. They are professional and on time. They don't ask you to do anything extra or unnecessary things. That's great especially nowadays. Everything's holding up very well and there are not complications with anything. I will use their services again in the future.
Description of Work: I used Superior Heating & Cooling Management Inc. I last used their services last Wednesday. They come out twice a year for a service. They do a check up and they do anything that I call them for. This time the air conditioning unit needed some parts and they did that.

I called Superior because my AC was not cooling the house. The company answered and explained it would be a $60 service call and sent out a tech a few hours later. So far so good. The Tech arrived, glanced at the air handler without opening it, then went straight to the outside unit. With me watching, he opened the unit, immediately swaped out the capacitor without checking to see if the old one was bad (it wasn't see below) or explaining to me what they charge or any pricing, He then hooked up a freon bottle, again without explaining to me what's wrong or what they charge for freon. At this point, he pointed out that my system was 10 years old and was probably leaking and should be replaced. Never offering to actually check for a leak or find out what it would cost to repair it. I walked away to speak with my wife about what was going on, and 2 minutes later he was done, (total service of about 20 minutes) He said the fix was probably temporary and may only last a few days but if I buy a new system they could get it done very quickly. Then the shocker, his bill was $640. The Capacitor was $200, and he claimed to put 10 lbs of refrigerant in a system that holds 16 total. BUT, the good news is that if you buy a new system from us we will take the $640 off the total bill. At this point I felt like I was being railroaded into a new system, so I sent him away and asked that a manager call to discuss. The next day the manager, Mike said I did need a new system and the one he recommends would be $7,340, but he would deduct the $640 off that number if I bought the system. OK, AT THIS POINT I NEEDED A SECOND OPINION. I scheduled 2 other Angie's List A rated companies to come out and evaluate my system and price me a new one. Both companies checked my system, found the leak and offered me a solution to repair or replace. Also, they both checked my old Capacitor and found it to be in perfect working order! I had them take the new one out so I could return it for my money back. Both other companies priced the exact same replacement system Superior quoted at $7,340 for $5,000. Ok, so any company can price their products and services at what ever price they see fit, I can't fault Superior for being $2,340 more than the next guy BUT, my gripe is this: They did repairs that didn't need to be done, (verified by 2 other certified techs) then offered to and quot;absorb the cost of the improper and (in my opinion) over priced serviceand quot; if I buy their system that, by the way was almost 50% more expensive then the customary going rate verified by 2 other estimated. In my follow up call with Mike from Superior AC he didn't believe I was quoted $5,000 for the same equipment, didn't apologize for the errors from his tech and didn't didn't discount my bill. With the exception of the $200 capacitor I returned. They certianly lost my business. The question for them is, did they lose yours too?
Description of Work: I had my home AC checked, and repaired (temporarily) by Superior Heating and Cooling out of Oldsmar, Fl and was charged for work done and for parts that didn't need to be done or replaced. I was also not informed along the way as to the amount of expenses I was incurring by the onsite tech before they were incurred. I feel like my bill was inflated to make a sales pitch for a new AC system appear more attractive. Story below, you decided if you want to hire this company in the future .....

The staff was good, their sales man came out first and then he came back a few days later with a technician to replace the unit. The staff was very pleasant. I had no problem with them at all and they cleaned up after they were done. They sold me a 2 year contract which I m not completely in agreement with, but I bought it anyway. I shouldn t have done it but it s my fault though, I will be smarter next time.
Description of Work: I had them replace the condenser and air-handler in my air-conditioning and heating unit.
